We arrived by train and the hotel is any easy 10 minute walk from the station and then just under 10 minutes to the town centre.

The hotel was lovely. I cannot think of anything to be negative about. The room was quiet, the bed comfy and I loved the decor. (We were in a 'clocks' room.) All the staff were pleasant and helpful and there is both a restaurant and bar food. The food in both was very good and slightly unusual.

Chester itself is a great place to visit and it is easy to go into Liverpool on Merseyrail. Chester has a lot of history, shops and restaurants!

Really lovely room, wasn’t sure why drinks in the fridge but no water and if they were complimentary? Water x 2 bottles would be a good choice

Ate at the Forge - ribs looked delicious - sharing steak not the best - veg delicious !

Main issue only flavoured expensive vodka - Finlanda isn’t my choice of vodka and although checked there was no plain vodka in grey goose or absolute and no spiced or dark rum either ?

Bed was super high but comfy and toiletries are very luxurious

I had a lovely 6 night stay at the Indigo Hotel. My room was clean with very comfortable beds. The bathroom was large and had a wonderful spa shower with full size toiletries and a robe & slippers upon request. The complimentary snacks were great! My room was a bit cold and I was unable to adjust the heat. I did ask about it and was told it would be adjusted, but did not notice a difference and just wore more clothes at night. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and I would love to stay there again!

Perfect Room for a Special Occasion

The room was perfectly clean and ideal for a special occasion. Slippers and a dressing gown were provided, along with lovely, beautifully scented toiletries. The wardrobe was spacious and easily accommodated all our belongings for the weekend.

We stayed in a Deluxe Room with a King Size Bed and balcony, which was perfect for sitting outside in the crisp January weather with a nice cup of tea. The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast offered a great variety of choices.

Highly recommend — we would definitely stay again.

The hotel overall was very nice and stylish. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was delicious and the Steak was superb but very pricy for the amount received. It cost just short of £100 as a sharing meal for 2 which included 2 sides but the sides portions were only enough for one person.
The room was great, comfy bed and pillows, hair dryer, ironing board & iron, great shower pressure but a few areas needed a deeper clean such as the shower shelf and screen. The mirror also had dirty makeup finger marks on it. This is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5 plus the room was quite cold even though we adjusted the thermostat.

The hotel was beautiful and excellent staff on arrival great location for train station and shops
Unfortunately after an evening out we arrived back at hotel and waited patiently at bar whilst staff stood and moaned about other colleagues with not very desirable language we then tried to order a cocktail but were told they didn’t serve them after 10 even though we had been stood there from 9.55 so tip for everyone the Moxy sell beautiful cocktails till 1am the next morning the cleaners where very pleasant as was the lady at checkout breakfast was a little chaotic but got there in the end

The hotel and room were very good but the service was poor. Upon arrival we were left waiting to check in as 3 members of staff were chatting. Last night my fiancé and I returned from a wake we had been to and went to the hotel bar around 8.30pm. The tall thin young gentleman on the bar was so rude. As he approached us he looked at me and said “yes”. Not how are you, good evening, what would you like or even yes please. Upon ordering he dropped the payment machine in the bar, I tapped it and he picked it up without a please or thank you. This followed 5 minutes later when we ordered a bar snack of chips and bread. He brought the food out with no cutlery, no napkins and the garlic and rosemary mayo never appeared. We have stayed at your hotel before and enjoy the location but the service this time was poor.

Generally speaking, everything was excellent. My only criticism would be the weight of the duvet in our bedroom which was extremely heavy and we also found the mattress to be quite hard. Fully appreciate that these aspects do come down to personal choice however neither of us got a particularly good nights sleepand that is my reason for giving comfort only three stars.

Stayed in Chester for the weekend to watch our children take part in the marathon. Hotel is in a great location right next to a lovely park & near all the shops and sights. Bed was so comfy and the shower was amazing! They catered well for gluten free at breakfast although a gf sausage would have been nice (they are so readily available these days) The bacon etc was \"help yourself\" but people were using the same tongues to pick them out as the hash browns which weren't gf. Please be mindful of cross contamination. I just used my fork and it was all delicious. We hired a mobility scooter from Shopmobility and it had been delivered to the hotel before we arrived - so efficent and the lady on reception was really friendly & helpful throughout the stay. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely recommend the Hotel Indigo

Think twice before you stay here

A poor experience. I was with colleagues working in chester so we tried to book a table in the restaurant at 7.30pm and was told ‘we can’t take any more bookings because we don’t have enough staff - its like this all the time and you should complain’. There were very few tables occupied??? In additionI left a beard trimmer, a jumper (inexpensive M&S approx £40) and a T-shirt (expensive Acne Studio approx £150) in my room. When i got home and realised, i rang the hotel who asked me where i had left things - i was very explicit and said ‘beard trimmer in bathroom next to sink, and items of clothing in wardrobe’. Reception said they would check with housekeeping. They called back and said nothing was left in the room and said perhaps housekeeping hadn’t seen the items or didn’t look in the bathroom or wardrobe. Not sure what they meant by this, because i would expect housekeeping to get the room ready for the next guest which typically means cleaning it and checking nothing has been left in the room. Very poor service. The staff in the restaurant actually asked me to make a formal complaint. The last time I left an item in a hotel (i travel for work a lot) the hotel contacted me amd then said they would ship the item to my home address - thats service.

A wonderful hotel for a family visit

We stayed as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children under 10) for a 3 day visit to Chester and loved this hotel. The room was beautifully decorated with extremely comfortable beds and pillows.

There was a range of options for breakfast, including both continental and cooked choices, that were all delicious and served by friendly and welcoming staff.

The hotel is ideally located close to several attractions, including the Paddington Bear bench, Grosvenor park and the Roman amphitheatre.

Pro-tip - if you have a blue badge for disabled parking, avoid using the Pepper St car park (read reviews to see why. Instead, there is one disable spot right outside the hotel that can be used, or on Foregate St that allows indefinite parking.

What a beautiful hotel! The style of the room ( I was in the Horse Racing style room) was amazingly done, modern but with traditional features, the bathroom was absolutely gorgeous! Very chic! Will definitely return again. The staff were amazing from check in to requests, nothing was too much trouble. The smell of the lobby was devine. Stayed with my husband for a 2 day break in Chester ( this hotel was recommended by our son who stayed there a few weeks ago )As soon as we walked in were very nicely greeted . We were early so were offered to leave our case which we did .The last hotel we stayed at , we had to sit in our car until check in .
The room was lovely and comfortable . Bathroom really nice .
We had a few drinks in the bar and the bar staff were really nice . Made cocktails for me which weren’t listed .
In all everyone was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . Would definitely stay there again .

Fantastic hotel the staff are helpful and friendly it is beautifully decorated and comfortable I have stayed there a few times now and the service you receive is consistent I can’t praise the staff enough for their care of the guests.
The only very minor issue I had was some dust on the floor of the wardrobe that I accidentally dropped my top onto and it got dusty.
The breakfast is absolutely delicious especially the eggs Benedict. There is a plenty of choice and excellent service.
