1. Room photo was not as described (room photo had sea view and jacuzzi in balcony). They later upgraded me to one with jacuzzi in balcony, without sea view
2. Jacuzzi controls did not work, had to keep calling technical team
3. Contracted food poisoning after eating in the hotel (had laksa and watermelon juice) and went to emergency room the next day for treatment. They did an investigation and claimed no one else had fallen sick

we are 4th time returning guests of Capella usually accompanied by our small dog. Their Italian and Chinese restaurants are now pet-friendly so that we could bring our small dog with us for breakfast and dinner at the outdoor terrace seats and this is definitely a plus point.
Overall our stay was very comfortable and the Palawan Brach is just mins away!

We love the privacy, spacious newly renovated room. Appreciate the wonderful sea view and size of room. Love the Frette bedsheet and Aesop amenities products. Just did not like the Knolls ( breakfast place) being closed for reno. Of course welcomed the free afternoon tea in their Library. Did not like the impatience of the housekeeping staff who expect one to open the door immediately upon knocking.

Local paradise…

Location is quiet beautiful and idyllic. Staff and service was fantastic with concierge on WhatsApp. We were fortunate enough to have a garden villa with private seating area and plunge pool, perfect during mini lockdown. Smart TVs, turndown service, light afternoon tea service and evening snacks; perfect for a night in. Although F&B services were off limits we were still able to enjoy the pools and spa for massage. Loved it and would stay again. Thank you Capella for a lovely break. :)

We had an amazing stay at the Capella for our wedding anniversary. The staff was amazing, always ready to help, the room was fantastic and breakfast and tea break delightful. The restrictions related to covid-19 were perfectly handled and we did not feel worried or bothered by them during the stay (we found a spot at the pool easily for instance). Thank you Capella! We always love staying at the Capella but were disappointed with our recent stay and didn’t find the facilities and maintenance up to the usual standard. We chose a Constellation Room as we were keen to have a view and a jacuzzi for a special weekend away. We arrived to find the maintenance panel beside the jacuzzi open with tools and a dirty cloth splayed out. The jacuzzi was also ice cold (which may be how it is intended to be in the Singapore heat but wasn’t what we expected!) The room was clean but the shower didn’t drain and, after 2 minutes of showering, would be full to the brim and spilling over on to the bathroom floor. When the shower finally drained, there was a strong sewage smell in both the shower and the rest of the bathroom which lingered in the room and was very off putting. Repeated requests to the front desk didn’t get this sorted during our stay nor was there really any appropriate reaction indicating an understanding of why this would be a problem and not something a guest should expect to endure for the duration of their stay.

A great shame as the view is lovely and it ought to have been one of the nicest rooms we have stayed in at the Capella.

Other than the maintenance issues, service, as ever, was excellent, particularly at The Knolls and at the poolside.

Only negative feedback is the main door of my room is slightly faulty, the lock is not align and unable to fully lock. There are ants spotted around the bathroom sink too.

Very disappointing for a 6-star property. It’s tired, outdated and nothing luxurious about it. The Operators who handled all customer service were quite sloppy. I called for tray return n nobody showed up. The in room dining was terrible - pasta was undercooked, dry and tasted horrible. I asked for chopped chicken n egg for my dog and they served a whole uncut breast meat n whole egg. The towels for the sunbed were frayed, there’re cigarette burnt marks on the sun bed. The bath towels are very thin. Not what I expect of a 6-star Hotel.

I merely mentioned to Capella I would be bringing my pet dog Kiwi as it was his 5th birthday. The result? We were greeted with a small but sweet and well-decorated birthday corner for Kiwi. We were really caught off guard and I could sense that the check-in staff were cheekily trying to make it hush hush so that Kiwi and us would be surprised - and yes we were indeed very surprised. Room wise, we got the best view we could ever asked for. The room was spotless and cosy and everything was arranged according to details even down to the bottled water - yes, Capella arranged our bottled waters too! As if that wasn't enough, during tea time, we were greeted by a grinning staff who delivered local snacks and a bottle of red wine. During breakfast, we asked if our pet could join us and the staff immediately said yes and swiftly arranged our tables and chairs so that we could dine with Kiwi. Throughout the breakfast, we were constantly greeted by the numerous zealous staff who checked on us constantly to ensure that we were well taken care of. I only have a few thousand characters to squeeze in all the tremendous thanks I want to say, and I couldn't described all the nice things which happened during this one night stay. But Capella, you have won our hearts and I hope readers will give this hotel a try. You just don't need any special reason to stay in Capella, cuz Capella makes you feel like home. Thank you Capella!

This is a great hotel and very well priced for Singapore. It’s rooms are great and generously appointed. But the best thing about this place is the staff.. they are so friendly and helpful from the concierge, to the chef to pool attendees, always smiling and friendly. It makes for a great stay in sentosa and close enough to all the great food in Singapore but far enough away from the hustle n bustle. 2nd stay - was not disappointed.

Unforgettable Wedding Anniversary Staycation

My husband and i celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Capella and it was an experience we will remember for a long time. We were given surprises throughout our stay as we had informed the hotel of our celebration and we had a wonderful experience. We had dinner at Cassia and the food and service was excellent. We felt really pampered by the hotel and staff. The location of the hotel was superb as it was quiet and away from the main hustle and bustle of the rest of Sentosa island. We were totally relaxed and left all our cares back on the main island during our stay there. The only regret we had was we stayed only 1 night instead of 2. We would definitely be looking forward to going back again.

Capella on a weekday

This was my first time staying at Capella on a weekday.

Check-in was smooth as there seemed to be few guests around (possibly because it was a weekday). Upon check-in, the staff informed that my preferred newspaper, the New York Times would be in my room. However it was not in the room when I arrived. Not a problem though as the staff delivered it swiftly when I called from the room to request for a copy of the paper.

The room was big and roomy. The toilet worked well in the beginning, but flooded the next morning upon flushing a few times. The water overflowed from the toilet bowl onto the bathroom floor. I did not report this issue as I was due to check out.

The buffet breakfast at the Knolls was very good with a range of food from various cuisines.

I would recommend staying at Capella on a weekday.

The concierge at the font desk provided a positive touch point with seamless and friendly check-in process. They serve drinks and biscuits while we waited for the check in process comfortably at the waiting area. We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Hard to fault it in any way. One thing that might be of useful to know, if like us you don't know Singapore, is that Sentosa is a \"fun island\" packed with facilities for young people and families. However inside the Capella property you would not know this as it is well isolated from the surrounding activities. You only realise all this is going on when you go down to the beach and take the (free) beach tram to travel along the south coast of the island (Which I recommend you do, particularly to Fort Silosi)

I booked a one bedroom garden villa for a staycation on 25 nov. The room was beautifully done up and huge with high tech blinds and curtain.
The hotel staff were every accommodating and attentive especially when I had two kids with me.
However the housekeeping was a little lacking. When I first went into my room, the sink in the toilet was filled with dirty water which was not drained from the sink and the bath tub was wet still from the previous guest’s usage. With children around, it was tough to ask for another villa and relocate everyone hence we did not bring it up to management.

Other than this I have no complaints about the hotel.

hotel facilities and location, comfort was excellent. so if you want to get away from the city, wanting to take good rest and relax, I recommend this hotel. below is my personal experiences;

My family has mixed nationality; US/Japanese/Korean. My wife and I took my mother and sister to this hotel. they loved it.

When checking in, one Korean staff asked me in English \"Are you Korean?\" Even though I showed him my american passport and speaking English. Not that I don't mind speaking in Korean, I had never been asked my nationality nor heard anyone around me being asked this question from hotel staffs. I don't believe he had any bad intention but felt quite uncomfortable. Why does the nationality even matter?

The buggy, when I was waiting to check out, came very late. We had to walk to the lobby (with luggage) as we needed to get to airport on time. (3 hrs in advance) When I reached to the lobby, no one was using the buggy and the driver just about to pick up the car. It was 15 min after I placed a call and asked them to pick us up. For this class of hotel, I would expect more punctual and professional service.

Other than those two incidents, the hotel itself was nice and we enjoyed our stay. I will probably not go there again as I know better places that does not do what I described above. The senior staff, upon hearing my complaints, reacted calmly and professionally. I forgot her name but I appreciate her professional attitude.

Disappointing stay...

While the staff were friendly and service was good, what was inadequate was that the room condition was bad. I booked for a villa way in advance and I was shocked by the quality of the villa (no. 7). It was not only old but it also had a funny and stale smell. On top of that, it was so far away from the siloso beach. Additionally, the outdoor shower was not working. I didn't bother to report this as it was already the next day that i found out. What was worst was that when we were told that the villa was ready, we were shocked to find out the cleaners were still cleaning! After the cleaners were done, it was way beyond 3 pm and which I found it was a little too late to enjoy most of the stay. Of course, the customer officer was very apologetic but I did not expect this sort of incident happening for a premium hotel. This was the most disappointing experience as for the past two years (2015 & 2016), the villas I had were great.

Due to some unknown issue, we had a late check-in and the process could be handled better. I had to repeat my name about four times to four different staff who offered to help with the check-in. It would be better if it was only one staff following up on the check-in and updating us on the process. Other than this hiccup, capella is still a very nice hotel.

1 room villa

It was a great stay and my Daughter had a wonderful 21st birthday celebration at Capella. We stayed in a 1 room villa over the weekend . It was a comfortable stay and the staff were most friendly and helpful which made our stay a really enjoyable one .The only glitch is that we were unable to use the dip pool at the villa bec there were lots of dry leaves and hence we were not comfortable with the cleanliness of the pool . We had both lunch n dinner at the Knolls and the service was excellent.They even prepared a small cake for my Daughter when they heard of our reason for stay at the Capella. The only feedback is that the prices of the food are a little too pricey especially for breakfast. We will certainly return again . In fact, with our recommendation and experience , my niece will also be checking into Capella for her 21st birthday celebration too . Great job , Capella staff !!

6 of us travelled with a 2 year old baby and stayed at Capella for 3 nights. After checking in , they send us to the room , we have 8 people squeezed in a 6 seated buggy whereas their staff have her own buggy following us. And she even forgot to give us the door key, so we have to stay outside the door to wait for her arrival.

Their staff do not leave the house until after delivering the luggage to us, he just stand in the middle of the living room and look for tips.

The rooms are dirty, my 2 year old boy run around in the house, coming in to bed with a dark and dusty feets. The kitchen ware they provided to us are oily and unclean, we have to wash everything before use.

Overall we feel very unwelcome in this hotel, there are no one give us introduction of the hotel. We didn't even know there is a complimentary tea place that we can have coffee and snack in the library . And we don't know anything about the hotel facilities.

The hotel only offers shuttle bus in the morning until 1:30pm to resort world and only 2 shuttle bus coming back from resort world. It is really inconvenient , we need to take taxI everytime.

I seriously don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Attention to detail was phenomenal from the villa upgrade to the gift of special coffee after our enquiry as to the blend. Disappointing unfortunately

We had very high expectations for this hotel, given the excellent reviews and price of room.
We stayed in a garden villa with private (???) pool and private (???) outdoor shower and bath.
When we arrived, the garden bed was overgrown and our pool was full of leaves and branches and not usuable - we were left wondering when it was last maintained.... We asked if it could be cleaned and was told it would be done immediately. Two hours later, we had to call again, to be done.
The ONE family pool at the resort was closed (for adult scuba class) and thus no pool to use. There are two other pools with min age 16 years which is crazy as most teenagers are noisier than some younger ones. Recommend age limit be reduced.
The whole resort needs maintenance and is showing its age (our indoor shower leaked into the outdoor shower).
The \"private\" facilities of the room are not private.
Restaurants are expensive and we had to ask for children's menus - they were never offered.
This resort would be lovely to visit for lunch / diner but as staying guests, we were not made to feel any more special than those coming for a meal.
It is comparable to some resorts here in Queensland which are half the tarif.
Unfortunately we would not stay here again - my advice is to stay in the more modern rooms (with views), not the garden villas - you pay extra but you can't rely on using the pool and the outdoor shower / bath has nearly a foot gap, for others to see in.

Room is impressively huge and offers a fantastic ocean view. Check in is efficient but check out is a bit slow. For some reasons, toilet door is very heavy , and young kids and elderly folks may have challenge pushing it open. Some lighting switches and the power sockets are concealed in drawer and boxes, and can create frustration in figuring them out.

Very nice hotel & close to beach & park

I really enjoy the beautiful environment around the hotel with peaceful mind. The great facilities surrounding by nature will be something that I will missed to this place & will makes my future trip again here.

Quite disappointed

Not as expected, for the reputation we heard.
Friendly staffs, room wasn't perfect clean, had to catch a bug to release at the balcony from the toilet upon entering the room. 2nd day house keeping left us with no room slippers nor toilet roll, had to call and ask for it. Our constella room with sea view was what lead to us booking, but disappointed as our view was mostly blocked by the huge tree in front of our balcony. In room dining was not bad.

Beautiful hotel - terrible staff

Capella is certainly one of the most beautiful hotels in Singapore. The location is magical, the facilities very well restored and charged with history and culture. But the 5-star treatment stops here unfortunately.

The service is absolutely appalling for an hotel of this class. The check-in experience is no better than the one you would get at the IBIS. The waiters spilled wine on my wife's dress - almost without any apologie. The room was extremely noisy due to malfunctioning AC. We had to beg the staff to put us into another room. This happened after 1.5 hours and we had to follow up with the staff on a regular basis as they would not keep us updated.

What I find surprising is that you get a personalised email ahead of the stay, welcoming you to the hotel. This is what you can expect from a 5-star hotel. The problem is that the processes in place render this nice touch completely irrelevant, or worse: damaging the entire experience. The person who sent the email was never there during our stay and the replacement had no idea how to do her job, trying to understand our desires and make our stay a joyful one.

In all, an extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel, expect if you are OK with a 2-star experience in terms of service and food quality.

5 Starred hotel but needs upgrading

Overall it was a good stay - food, service and some facilities. However some facilities need upgrading. My room door was not working towards the end of our stay. It could not be closed at all. Fortunately we were leaving. The mattress was too soft. In our previous stays I remembered that the mattresses we slept in were firm. I guess they have not changed that yet.

A great weekend getaway

It was a great weekend getaway. Very serene and relaxing environment and the services of the staff is awesome. They go the extra mile to arrange for a birthday cake and the Chinese restaurant is excellent. Will certainly come back again.

Best Staycation

Years ago I visited Capella Singapore for my friend's birthday celebration at one of the villa, the experience was great and the villa was grant.
Always wanted to have a staycation there with my family and friends, so last month we decided to book a room for a birthday celebration, I was glad we chose Capella for this great day. They surprised us with a free upgrade to their Colonial Manors, the stay was fantastic, their staffs and customer service was the best we experienced so far.
We will look forward to have a staycation there soon, thank you Capella Singapore for the great experience!

Excellent stays at Capella Villa!

Our family had a great 3 days stays at this fabulous hotel. We originally book a 1-bedroom villa and a premier room but eventually upgraded free to two 1-bedroom villas to our utmost surprise and delight!.Efficient and friendly staff along with well equipped rooms. Loved the Library - a must visit! We would absolutely stay here again and look forward to our next return!!
