The staff were courteous, location is excellent. The hotel was under construction which meant they were down to 1 elevator and you had to go up to the 3rd floor to check in. It wasn’t horrible but I would have appreciated knowing about it in advance. The room was in need of some refreshing - paint was going and was not amazingly maintained but had clearly been very nice when first renovated.

The stay was ideal for taking our daughter to visit upenn. The only thing that made this a 4 vs. A 5 star was the construction that was going on at the hotel. It blocked the entire front entrance which made coming and going a little challenging. But overall, it was a great choice

There is some construction going on that makes the layout a bit confusing, but even with that, we had a very pleasant 3 day stay in a comfy clean room, great bathroom, nice common areas, and a fabulous, accommodating staff. Also attached to a really fun restaurant/bar, Louie Louie. Great location for the University and Penn Medicine facilities.

3. Too many charges that didn't really add to my overall positive experice (delivery charges, service charges) that a plain bagel sandwich w egg, bacon and cheese ended up to cost $33 dollars!

I will hesitate to consider/stay at this hotel again. Not to mention the hotel is relatively older than other hotel in the vicinity as I have stayed at both at the Studio and the Sheraton just a few blocks away.

The Inn at Penn is under construction with the front of the building completely shut down. And full banging starts early. This was not mentioned anywhere. Also, we were there because my son was at CHOP for emergency surgery. We booked for 4 nights through Expedia and end up only staying 2 nights. Expedia refused to reimburse for the unused nights. The venue said had I booked directly they would have reimbursed. It was a terrible experience and we will not be staying at the inn at Penn in the future. I hope this helps those families who are in Philadelphia for the great healthcare.

The Inn is under renovation. The listed entrance is closed, you will need to enter from another street. The ground floor is populated by homeless people sheltering from the cold and workman along with the dust and dirt from construction. Internal signage is occasionally misleading and contradictory. Construction noise was kept to daytime hours, and was not a significant issue. The dust however, was omnipresent and circulated through the heating vents.

Staffing is minimal, probably because the hotel is fairly empty. They are doing their best to make something of a difficult situation. There were many issues with internet access and TV. The staff sent to address these issues were pleasant and helpful, but clearly did not know much about either. Internet access was eventually accomplished with external tech support, TV access by \"fiddling\" until sufficient experience exposed one way to get a picture, which could not be repeated. I figured it out eventually by empirical experimentation. I doubt the Maintenance staff person knows the instructions still.

While the staff is pleasant and somewhat helpful, they are trying to make the best of a difficult situation. I would get a different hotel until the renovation is complete.

The hotel is a nice Hilton property but not particularly luxurious. It is very convenient to campus. There is some street parking thought it gets expensive if you try to reload. The main issue is that it’s under construction so the front entry is closed and there’s construction noise in the library. There is a temporary reception on the third floor.

The hotel is nice but very dated. It was expensive for the age. They could have such a nice lobby bar but the lack of a double weather door significantly impacts the ability to enjoy it. I think the house keeping is below regular standards. We had to ask for soap. Toilet paper and coffee was never refreshed properly. The staff were great. The hotel was chosen for me but it wouldn’t be my first choice in the area again.

This hotel has such a lovely atmosphere. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. I had everything I needed for a short stay. I loved that this hotel is walkable to many things on Penn's campus. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I will be staying here many more times as I travel to Philadelphia for grad school over the next few years.

I was disappointed in my stay. After finally locating the entrance , we were met with a very rude staff member who appeared annoyed that we needed help finding the front desk.. 2 elevators and 4 turns away. The shower curtain was ripped and the black out curtains were useless.
The housekeeper we met on Friday was so friendly and helpful.
We probably wont stay there on our next visit.

Requested a cot for the room. Cot was delivered without linens. Called front desk to request linens. Housekeeping did not deliver linens. A second call to the front desk to follow up and still no linens delivered. Canceled request for linens after two hours and due to late hour.

Otherwise, hotel was excellent, great location and front desk staff extremely pleasant.

I won’t ever be coming back. It was very disappointing especially for the price. Room service breakfast cost me over $100 for me and my 10-year-old and we couldn’t even eat it. Fruit cup was gross. Parfait was watery. French toast and oatmeal were just ok. Check out experience took way too long and the attendants don’t even acknowledge us when we came to the desk. Room was nice and clean and comfortable, but not to the point that would be expected for that price. Parking was additional.

Here is the but, they need to up keep the bathrooms better. Broken loose floor tiles, worn out dirty caulking around the shower. All easy fixes. A hotel of this caliber guests should not experience such things.

Cleanliness is the Key

During my recent stay at The Inn at Penn, I had a very disappointing experience. After being stuck in the airport for five hours, I was too exhausted to inspect the pillows closely and slept on the softest of the four provided. The next morning, I discovered two large, disturbing stains on the pillowcase — dry, but possibly blood. I felt awful realizing I had slept on a pillow in that condition. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, especially at a hotel of this standard, and I cannot believe housekeeping overlooked something so obvious when preparing the room.

We were dropping off our son at Penn over the weekend, and the hotel had a fun buzz with all of the families there to do the same thing. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, but if you want to have a nightcap, there are plenty of nice spots within the hotel to unwind. I look forward to staying again!

Stop forcing us to check out early!!!!
Check in time is after 4pm, check out time is before 11am. That’s plenty time to get the rooms ready. But…
At 8:30am on my checkout day, a staff (who doesn’t speak English) knocked on my door. I thought she knocked on the wrong door since she can’t tell me why she knocked. 30 mins later, she unlocked our door and tried to enter. I then understood that she wanted us to check out and then clean the room. I told her we are not ready to check out yet. At 10:30am, she knocked again and wanted to get in. This is not acceptable.
My husband said his check out experience was bad so he didn’t file a complaint.

I booked this hotel as we were attending an event at The Mann. The hotel was fairly close and had generally positive reviews. We arrived and checked in around 4:30. We got to our room and noticed it was very dirty. The room looked like it had not been dusted in years. We looked at our bed 3 of our pillows had stains all over them and looked like they had not been washed. We removed our comforter which had been wrapped in a sheet on both sides. The comforter had stains all over it. We also found hair on the wall in the bathroom
and the shower was not cleaned properly. I went downstairs and the gentleman at the front desk offered us another room. We had to move all our stuff to another room. Which also was very dusty and we found another hair in the shower that had not been cleaned. At this point we needed to be somewhere and had to go. I would spend your money somewhere else! The hotel is outdated and the housekeeping staff doesn’t do a good job at all!

From start to finish, we had an exceptional experience at the Inn at Penn. Unexpectedly, we needed to arrive a day early to Philadelphia a day before our scheduled visit. The hotel manager, Angela, was very helpful and kind as she assisted us in this process. Angela was a pleasure to work with and she helped us upgrade to a lovely room for the special occasion of our wedding anniversary. She even sent up a special gift on behalf of the hotel! We were overjoyed with our experience at this clean, spacious and conveniently located hotel. The staff was unbelievably kind and resourceful and we will most certainly be staying at this hotel again when we are in the Philadelphia area.

Allow me to start off that this was my first and last stay with the Hilton. I always take a black light with me to ALL hotels I stay in. There was a film on the toilet seat lid, you could see the previous persons finger marks from putting the lid down. Dink wasn’t clean. The only thing clean in that bathroom was the tub and some of the floor.

Thankfully we were only there for one night. In the morning when I checked out the woman that I was working with was rude and refused to answer my question. I clearly misheard the first women on the day of check in that the $50 I was paying was for a “security deposit” when I got my receipt for for valet and the early check-in, I didn’t see said charge and was confused. I asked her what it was and to if she could explain. I was told “is all on that receipt” I said “no it’s not and that’s why I’m so confused” she proceeded to look at me like I was absolutely insane and then repeated herself. $600 for a one night stay at this hotel to for someone to be ignorant and not do their job. The first two times I asked I not rude or ignorant, not until the third time when she literally kept repeating that it was all on the receipt. Never again. I’ll still with the Marriott Bonvoy, better prices, better rooms, better staff, and better price.

From the moment I arrived at The Inn at Penn, I felt genuinely welcomed. Maxx at the front desk was incredibly helpful—they made check-in smooth and went out of his way to ensure I had everything I needed. Customer service with a smile and a willingness to assist was a key characteristic of everyone who greeted us when we arrived at this property; the valet service was prompt and our check-in/check-out was attentive to our needs. We visited Philly for one night. The hotel is within the city campus of UPEN away from the noisy and sometimes overwhelming city center. Perfect location, great hotel, great staff! The restaurant on the first floor (Louie Louie) is also very convenient and has great food. DEFINITELY coming back and staying here again.

I had a great stay! The hotel was very clean, and the staff made the experience even better. Maxx at the front desk was super friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The gym was fantastic—definitely one of the better hotel gyms I’ve seen. Also, shoutout to Luis from valet parking! He was so friendly and even remembered us from last year, which made us feel really welcome. Highly recommend this place!

This is a very nice hotel which feels like it is right on Penn's campus. My one big complaint is the wood frames around the bed. They stick out SOOO far that myself and both of my two children got serious bruises during our ONE night stay. The interior designer should be forced to sleep in one of these beds for the rest of their painful lives!
