The room had animal hair of some kind inside, which triggered my allergies. The amenities were stocked but the hair conditioner bottle was empty. There are 2 thin blankets covering the beds; when we called and asked for extra blankets we were told there weren’t any more. No apology, no offer of an alternative, just no. There was a sports team staying on our floor and they were screaming in the hallway until well into the night—talking loudly, scaring each other and shrieking—just a poor stay overall. I would have called to complain about the noise, but given the poor response to the blanket request and less than average welcome at check in, I didn’t bother. This was our first time in Philly. What a terrible introduction.

Unfortunately, my stay here was not the best. I’ve stayed at other Sonesta’s and this property just did not measure up with the others.

Let me begin by saying the check in process was smooth and staff were nice.
Some things were not in their control — the hotel was flooded with people for the college basketball games. That’s all well and it did not bother me. However, the groups that were there basically took over all the restaurants, lobby, and personal space like they were the only guests. I had to repeatedly ask another guest who was on the phone talking loudly to kindly step away from my personal space twice — any closer he would’ve been on my lap. Along with few others who just had too much to drink. Extremely loud atmosphere. Had I known that the groups would be staying here, I’d pick a different property - my fault for not doing more research on the most popular week of March.

Second, because of these large groups, it took several minutes and passed elevators for me to get to my 23rd floor. Everyone trying to jam in and then once I finally got an elevator, there was a stop at almost every floor. Needless to say, we were squished like sardines in the elevator and it took much longer to get up to your room than usual.

Once I checked into my room, the floor felt sandy, there was hair in the bathroom sink, and the shelves had a ton of dust. Overall just felt like it had not been cleaned well. Not typical for Sonesta. Very disappointed.

Maybe it was just this weekend, with basketball and volleyball tournaments, and teams staying at the hotel, but the place was hectic, the elevator broke down (I had to walk down 20 flights of stairs to meet up with my family), and they didn't clean the room. I have always been happy with Sonesta hotels, but I won't come back to this one.

As a family of four we look for comfort in a room with space. This room was a good size, room for luggage and humans. The bathroom floor stayed wet and we had to use several towels to mop it up. Great location.

I stay at this hotel every time I am in town, which is at least a few times a year for several years now. Always had great experiences until this time. Several things were missing from the room and there were no blankets on the beds. I requested blankets twice and finally was brought an extra sheet for each bed. There were no signs in the room for no housekeeping request. The staff was not as friendly as usual. It was just not the same as my normal experience. I may look for a new go to property in the area for my next stay.

I was able to check in early. The first room I was assigned was filthy and run down. Dust everywhere, excrement stains all over the side and back of toilet, rust and mildew in the tub, paint falling off the ceiling, stains on the sheets and walls, and hair everywhere. I went downstairs and noted the issue and was given another room. The new room was one 1.5 steps above the other on the cleanliness scale. Luckily i brought gloves, lysol wipes, and trash bags (they dont give you trash bags). I spent about 30mins making the room livable between inspecting the sheets to make sure they werent dirty (clean sheets this time and mattress covers) and cleaning the surface areas and bathroom. The beds are firm and pillows are lousy. I had to pile all 4 pillows together just to get any kind of next support. They gave me a credit for “The Art Bar” which we used for breakfast. The staff at the bar seemed like they were exhausted and ready to end the work day (it was 10am). We ordered breakfast sandwiches when we received them, they were burnt to a crisp with no flavor. There are 4 elevators but each morning it took about 10mins to get to the lobby bc they barely worked. Front desk staff was nice but overall, this hotel sucked. I will never ever stay at another Sonesta. Shut this raggedy place down and start over…

PROS: The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The staff was very pleasant and check in was a breeze. Great location.

CONS: cleanliness could be improved as we found 2 packs of blueberries on top of the fridge that must have been there a while, as they were moldy and shrunken. We had NO shower curtain, there was dirt and hair on the wall behind the bathroom door, and I have never stayed in a hotel where there were NO trash bags in the trash cans. (We were in room 1425)

The staff was very rude and makes you feel like you are wasting there time. Also they never let us use the portion of our destination fee and told us that you can not use it on the day that we were checking out wich is probably the only place on earth when they come out with that excuse. Room was clean that is a plus . I guess.

The hotel was great clean and comfortable. The valet attached to the hotel is separate from the hotel even though I suggest using iparkit.com to book ur parking unless ur ok paying triple the price for a not so great Service. Even if ur the only one asking for your vehicle plan to wait 25 min or to get your car. And don’t lose ur ticket. It’s a very faulty system out to get u to pay max rates should u lose ur ticket. Having to wait almost 30 min is highly inconvenient

I booked a room with two queen beds, but was given a room with two double beds - a significant difference. The room was not well-cleaned when we arrived and was missing wash clothes. When the room was serviced the following day, we were not given new towels or coffee.

The room was very nice with safe and refrigerator, large screen tv, and lots of plugs for my technology. bonus was a Starbucks in the lobby and the Expedia $10 credit a day was accepted for breakfast there. Parking lot access was directly of the lobby and in and out privilege was included in parking fee. Highly recommend this location

The room was very nice. The only issue we had was that we were unable to connect to the Wifi. We had just gotten married earlier in the day and my new bride wanted to post all the pics at the end of the day. Nothing we did could get us connected. I travel for business so for me I look to connect the minute I hit the room. It was disappointing to be sure.

I was racially profiled , parking was horrible, crowded , small room even king size bed. Was not a good 4 star hotel could be a luxury 3star if best. Cars took long to get . My wife and I found a lipgloss that wasn’t hers on my keys when valet brought my rolls Royce around. Just not a good spot for us. Spots on walls. Literally stayed for an hour and a half after check in and left and didn’t go back into the room

Asked for a refund and they denied refund , so yeah just horrible experience.

I made a reservation through Expedia to this hotel however, I must report that this hotel requires significant renovations. The breakfast options were limited to a banana and oatmeal, and the restaurant/bar offered a very restricted selection of beverages. The rooms were exceedingly small, and upon arrival, I found the towels to be stained with blood, necessitating a request for new ones. The check-out time was unusually early at 11pm, whereas standard check-out times are typically at noon. The check-in time was at 4am, whereas most hotels permit check-in at 3pm The gym was not accessible 24/7 as advertised, and the heated pool that was supposedly available was not open at all. Additionally, the lighting was insufficient, the electrical outlets were non-functional, and the Wi-Fi connection was entirely unavailable and gave me error messages I am also not sure why they inform you that the deposit is refunded upon check out but hasn't been issued to my bank account it's been a week I also would like to know why the hotel doesn't have a direct line and reservations has to try to get answers they gave me so many issues I don't know if I would come back unless improvements are made

Very nice handicap accessible room equipped with two queen size beds, large TV, coffee maker, fridge. Our 18th floor room was very quiet and comfortable, and hotel features an adequate lounge serving liquor and light fare. A more expansive menu is available at the adjacent Ruth Chris Steakhouse. Check-in and check-out were efficient and staff was very courteous, promptly responding to our complaint about burned out bathroom light. We would gladly stay here again.

Rooms were very clean, staff were friendly. Hotel overall nice and ran as expected. Location was great - right in the middle of everything. Beds were comfortable too.

Only thing of note on the negative is the room I was in had very little storage. The room wasn't big, but there still were better/more options available than having to use the night stands as the only drawer space available. Small closet too. If I were staying a week the lack of storage would've been a bit more of an issue, but for a short trip wasn't terrible.

Front desk was understaffed, nearly always a long line. The “perks” for Expedia were usable only at Artists Cafe which was also understaffed or closed. Heat in room didn’t correlate to thermostat; vanity was so small it was barely usable. Bed was exceptionally comfortable though!

Loved this hotel. Prime City Center location and only about a 12-minute drive to Temple University. Having Starbucks and Ruth’s Chris right in the hotel was a huge plus. The staff was outstanding friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful and they honored my Expedia VIP benefits, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely stay here again.
