We arrived at 6pm for a 3pm check in. Our room wasn’t ready. The lobby was extremely warm. When we got to our room, there were no windows and it smelled of smoke. The sink is in the bedroom, not the bathroom. There were menus by check in to call and order pizza, which we did. It took two hours for the pizza delivery. At night, when. The door opened, unhoused people entered the lobby.

This is a budget hotel, so I know what to expect. The property is clean, and the staff is nice, but they can't help the clientele it attracts. Noisy guest up all night on a Saturday slamming doors, music loud until the sun comes out, then sleeping during the day smoking weed...Maybe the no-smoking signs are not visible enough.
Breakfast is an overstatement. Coffee machine broken, and just a few items to munch on (maybe do not call it breakfast?) Anyway, it did what we needed on a busy weekend in Philly. Not coming back for sure.

The entire hotel had a strange, unpleasant smell, and our room specifically smelled like smoke. The bathroom ceiling tiles were falling out, and the room itself was exceptionally small for the price.

The hotel also advertised having a pack-and-play available, but when we arrived one staff member said the “one they had” was already being used, while another said it was broken. Either way, it wasn’t available, which meant my two-year-old had to be up roaming the room all night.

The “continental breakfast” consisted only of granola bars and cereal. The orange juice was expired, and my toddler vomited after drinking it.

Parking was another major issue. There is essentially no parking available at the hotel. We ended up paying over $140 to park at the cheapest lot we could find within a reasonable walking distance. It was $59 for the first 24 hours, but on Saturday and Sunday they charge “event parking,” which is $49 every 12 hours.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

Nice city hotel with an overall good experience. It is small and compact, with great staff and very clean. The price was right, but it is on a lesser-used street. I never felt unsafe, but not sure about late at night. Trash truck noise in the early morning. Not much of a breakfast selection.

Good location. The temperature in the room couldn’t be regulated. Tried to turn off heat and turn on AC - it was always 76 degrees no matter the temperature you tried to set it on. Breakfast ends too early, needs better selection, fruit and ran out of items quickly.

ok so when you first get there you have to be buzzed in by front desk. I believe they do that to keep our the homeless or those people from the house next door ( I believe its a halfway house or some sort) Front desk was welcoming and helpful. the lobby isn't as bright either. especially by the eating area, its not light on in that area at all. the room is just your basic room. bed bathroom tv. nothing cool to rave about. the coffee cups were soooo bad. every other cup leaked out after coffee sitting for about 5mins. please be prepared to use your key card everytime you need to get back into the hotel. My upstairs neighbors kids was rediculous with being up in the middle of the night running non stop. then stop for about 2-3hrs and woke back up bright and early in the morning with running again. Only thing I like about the hotel is that it was 6mins away from most things. the homeless people makes it feel uneasy when walking up trying to pull out my key card.

Yeah don't bother staying here unless this is the only thing in your budget. Dirty no climate control in the rooms creepy basement without of service vending machines. The windows in the hotel room didn't close correctly which opened on to the hallway. Just all around bad.

4.7/5. The hotel is in an excellent area, just an easy walking distance from Center City's Chinatown, restaurants, the Fashion District, the train and even the reading terminal. The room and building was pleasant. The staff was kind as well. However, my only gripe is that the breakfast offered was hardly a breakfast (mainly sugary pastries, yogurts and white bread, etc without proteins such as eggs or sasuages).

The hotel and surroundings are inhabited by homeless people, many of whom are experiencing behavioral health issues. We checked into the hotel, got to the room which stunk like cigarettes and went back to the front desk to complain. The front desk was unstaffed and we saw people using their keycards to let obvious non-guests into the lobby. We went back to the room got our stuff and left as it was an unsafe environment. We went around the corner to the Best Western, for a few bucks more than what we paid at the Days Inn we got a safe, clean hotel which has a great breakfast.

The smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night. It was chaotic as all get out. No communication from staff if it was a real fire or not. My kids couldn’t get back to sleep. Additionally, there was a weird flammable type smell throughout the building, especially in the elevator. Not sure if it was kerosene or something else, but it definitely smelled like something you shouldn’t be inhaling for long periods of time. There was no one at the front desk when we checked out either.

So when we pulled up there is a shelter right next door. So the sidewalk was packed, Though I did not mind The females in the group where extremely uncomfortable. If I was on the trip with kids I would of not stayed regardless of the non refundable policy. We got in late so we just went to sleep. This morning when we where packing we found bugs in the bed. I told the staff when we where leaving that there was bugs in the bed they did say thank you.

This property is dodgy, poorly maintained and overpriced. The area is extremely uncomfortable - full of drug users and panhandlers at all hours. One was blocking the front door, begging to be let into the hotel lobby to take coffee and breakfast items. The staff demanded a $100 deposit which was charged to my card - not held as pending. I fully anticipate problems getting it returned. Stay anywhere else.

The WORST Hotel Check-in Experience

Had THE worst hotel check-in experience ever. Let me tell you, I'm an avid traveller who stayed at different stars hotels in different states & countries. Never had I ever treated like this before during a hotel check-in. To be fair, I didn't arrive on the 1st day of my stay - my flight is very early morning the next day. The front desk rep who helped me checked in can't find my booking by name. She bluntly told me she has no room for me, I was stunned. She eventually assigned a similar but different name to my booking, saying hotels.com made a mistake on my name & proceeded to give me a room. My booking was for 4 days (Aug 2th-6th), this other person's reservation was only 3 days (Aug 3rd-5th). She said since I was late checking in, therefore the hotel modified my booking to a different set of dates. WHAT?!? She impatiently told me to call Hotels.com to change the # of days of my booking. She refused to check my booking #, answered questions w/ exasperation. Her name badge says she's a supervisor but very inhospitable & unprofessional. It was AWFUL. I was on virtual chat/phone with hotels.com for more than 1.5 hours. It was a very frustrating situation.

Finally in the evening, another hotel front desk rep (Min) - knocked on my door & explained what happened. He was nice & apologized for the error he didn't do. He found my booking & took care of everything at the end. Very grateful for him. Room was comfy & clean, don't get me wrong. But will not recommend staying there.

I will stay again

I like the location of being near Downtown and all the tourists spot but it is next to a homeless shelter. There will be a lot of homeless men hanging out and sitting around. Nobody bothered us or asked for anything. Yes the no windows will have you oversleeping if you used the sun to naturally wake you. The room was clean. For breakfast the yogurt didn't take fresh, no juice, muffins one flavor at a time, cereal, coffee and begals. Free parking on the street between 10pm to 8am. We left before 8am and return to our room close to 10pm so only pay for parking 7.00 from 8am to 11am check out day. Overalls if need a budget hotel near everything, this is it.

The hotel was no thrills no microwave or mini fridge. Did have a safe, coffee maker and hair dryer. But good price and clean.
I was not familiar with parking in Philly. You will have to find a garage or lot to accommodate your vehicle. Just a FYI When checking into the hotel. There is no where to pull in to check in and unload bags. You have to park in front of the hotel and put on your hazards. Or if available park across street in metered parking and put on your hazards. The front desk and cleaning staff were very nice and they do have a continental breakfast.

I'd stay here again.

I had a very good time. Ryan was so helpful. I modified my reservation a million times and he was patient and helped me navigate the many changes that my reservation underwent. Tamika was also very friendly. She went above and beyond to ensure that I had a wonderful experience including offering steward services and holding my bags until I was ready to head to the airport after checkout. The location was also pretty close to the convention center and Chinatown. I would certainly stay here again.

It isn't clear that they don't have parking. Also, their check-in is a storefront, so it's very hard to get anything you bring into the hotel without crossing the street. Also, I found a nail, and a long sharp one in my room and the front desk did nothing About it. They were also very hard to understand.

It is a VERY basic, no-frills hotel. The exterior is pretty drab, and the block is generally in very rough shape. A lot of unhoused people hanging out right next door. The door to the hotel is keyed entry though, so it is safe. There is no workout facility, no pool, no water fountain, and the ice machine is in the basement. At the end of the day, it is a place to go to sleep.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It’s nothing super fancy, but it’s clean and in a very convenient location to the Convention Centre, restaurants and other amenities. The staff is very nice, helpful and competent and the rooms are small but tidy. It’s a nice, cozy and quiet hotel and the free breakfast was nice too! The price was also decent. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is on the back side of the Convention Center, a little out of the center of things. No fault of the owners, but it’s a place with a decent number of homeless persons around - I’m not making a judgement; everyone needs a place to hang out, sleep, etc., and they’re just trying to get by.

The hotel has another building on each side so from what I can tell most of the rooms don’t have windows; our room on the first floor didn’t.

The facility itself is fine; clean, safe, well-managed. The staff are very nice and helpful. We were there for a volleyball tournament with thousands of players, and booked very late - and paid a huge premium on the room; probably the most I have ever paid for a hotel room. Fine, I’m an economist, I understand supply and demand.

In a word, it’s a Days Inn. It’s a fine place just to sleep when you have a reason to be in the area for other business (like something at the convention center). Definitely not a destination hotel.

Not in the best area BUT we felt safe and it is VERY conveniently located near the PA Convention Center (<5min. walk), Reading Terminal Market and China Town. We used a parking garage 2 blocks away so, getting our luggage to and from the garage was a bit haggard but we made due. The hotel also allowed us to keep some luggage checked at the hotel until our event was finished.

I was surprised we did not have a fridge in our room (we were there 4 days 3 nights) however they were very accommodating and able to get us one. The breakfast is very limited but the bagels were fresh and lets face it with so many amazing restaurants near by we ate our way through Philly for most meals. **There is a fantastic Asian bakery (Bread Top House on Race St) it looks sketch but boy was it delish) Eggs and Ale is also very close.

We will definitely return to this hotel for our event next year.
