Room is okay. No coffee maker and small bottle of water 8 dollars. Limited options nearby to eat. Isolated area but good if interested in going to Independence Hall. I usually stay in Rittenhouse Square which is far better for a stay in Philly for a weekend

I recently stayed at this property to attend a couple of concerts in Philadelphia. The hotel was in a perfect location with nearby tourist attractions and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. It was also midway between both of the venues that I was attending so that was also a plus. I love the rooms. They were very spacious very comfortable bed the beautiful room. The only downside was that the comforter had a stain on it and I alerted the front desk and they it them almost the whole day to send someone one up to clean the room. But that wouldn’t necessarily stop me from staying there again because I loved the room and the location of the hotel.

Great stay and great vibe overall. The location is perfect with tons of food spots around and it’s a great area for a night walk if you want to check out the scene. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff was friendly. Valet isn’t included but the process was smooth.

There’s a restaurant attached to the hotel and we ended up having dinner there. Good food and very convenient. The room itself was a great size. Bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and the bathroom had beautiful mirrors and a really nice setup. Only small note is the bathroom lighting was a bit dim. Next time I’d probably request a room with a better view since ours faced inward toward other parts of the building.

Blackout curtains absolutely did their job. We planned to wake up around 7-7:30 and ended up sleeping until 9:30 without even realizing it. Luckily checkout is at 12.

Also have to mention the rooftop lounge. So much fun and super easy to get to. Staff up there was great and the DJ absolutely nailed the playlist. Her music selection and overall vibe were spot on. Bravo.

Extremely clean room, worth every penny! Beautiful hotel decor. The spa tub was just what I needed. The views were exceptional. I could see Independence Square, The Liberty Center and Liberty Bell from my window. Just outside of the hotel was The National Constitution Hall. Friendly staff. Valet was super nice! The wine hour was a nice touch. The Red Owl Tavern onsite was perfect. The drinks were delicious and the food was good! Very convenient. The Stratus rooftop was nice, but was out of season so not too much of a crowd but I’ll certainly be back! If I’m ever in Philly, this is where I am staying.

The hotel itself and staff are very nice. While we didn't take advantage of it, it being a pet-friendly property is nice to know. Booked a room with a tub, which was deep and spacious -- Separate shower and tub is a nice amenity. Nice lobby bar, although a bit overpriced, especially for mocktails. Bed was not the most comfortable. The bed linens did not feel premium, and were strangely loud. Although nitpicky, it was a nice experience.

The room was great and loved checking in right when they were having \"happy hour\" in the lobby. Good start! BUT, I wish we were told that the gym was closed due to renovations. Was disappointed that nothing was done to compensate us for that (I even asked for a few free weights to use in my room and was told no). Overall good stay minus no gym.

The Monaco was great, centrally located and the staff and facilities were excellent. Only reason it wasn't 5 stars was the food at their pub - overpriced and a very small selection. I had the Philly Cheese Steak, which since it was in Philly should have been outstanding, but it was overpriced and bland.

Where do I start? This hotel had NONE of the amenities listed online.For starters, there was no spa, the rooftop was closed, and the gym was closed. The water didn’t get hot, the body wash and lotion were both super strong cucumber scented that severely dried out your skin. There was no complimentary water. I asked for a coffee pot in my room when I booked, and of course it wasn’t in the room. I didn’t even worry about requesting one. I would NEVER book here ever again. I can say the valet staff was nice, and that’s about it.

Major overhaul is needed, everything felt a little old and grungy. They don't offer breakfast with your stay... and coffee is only limited to a short window in the morning. They really should offer coffee all day in the lobby.

They downgraded my reservation with Expedia blaming Expedia for the mishap. I reserved a king room and they gave us a small smelly not clean double room. The hallways had food and trash everywhere including a microwave lol. When confronted with this basic unfair checking in situation of downgrading a package that I paid over 1400$ for two nights on Expedia all they can do or say was to call Expedia. They said they can only offer rooms based on unavailability. Expedia told me the price was going to be reviewed by management on checkout. When i checked out nothing was taken care of and I paid 1400$ for two nights for a small double room. There was no hot water either so couldn’t even shower in the morning too.
The Monaco Hotel used to be a jewel of hotel for its location in Old City and its luxury. Sorry to say I’m very disappointed about this experience and not sure if I will ever book there again.

This is a fantastic hotel next to independence Park. Don’t believe the bad reviews, this hotel is going under renovation and our room was updated and clean. Loved the daily afternoon complementary wine, also free coffee in the morning.

The room was nice and clean but poorly lit, and the beds were very comfortable. I did experience several service issues, some were resolved, while others were not. The gym was closed, which required walking a few blocks to work out, and the Red Owl restaurant was undergoing renovations. While I’m not sure what other work was being done, there was nonstop tapping noise starting around 5:00 a.m. each morning, which was disruptive.

The bright spots of my stay were the front desk staff, who were exceptional, very friendly, and helpful. The afternoon social hour was also a nice touch. While I can’t say I would stay here again, the location is convenient, with easy access to shops and local restaurants

Why is housekeeping knocking on my door at 8:30 am AND 9:30 am on NEW YEAR'S DAY, probably the only holiday where everyone, around the world, without fail, is staying up late and wants to sleep in the next day. Checkout is at NOON, so it's unforgivable that I'm being awakened suddenly by loud knocking when I wanted to sleep in. FIX THIS.

Lovely stay. Great location in the centre of old town. Huge art deco room, with tremendous character. Loved the bath and shower configuration, very modern. Comfortable bed with luxury pillows. Hotel served coffee and tea in the lounge area and also at a different hour hot apple cider and wine, all on the house. The red owl restaurant location on the first floor served a limited menu of very good food. Staff were friendly, welcoming and everything they should be to make your stay memorable.

Ok, firstly I want to say the staff were very nice but here’s the rundown about the hotel right now. I’m a long term Kimpton customer and there was no advance warning that the hotel is undergoing upgrades or even at check in. On the positive side, the bedding appeared to be clean.

The room was in absolute disrepair. The furnishings are broken, many of which are made from mirror and could be dangerous if you put your hand on them - definitely not safe for kids. The bathroom door would not close and there was mold in the bathroom. The shower has so high pressure and could not be pointed in a direction that would not completely drench the floor. The plumbing seems to be having a hard time. The hallway smelled like sewage and the room was not much better. The walls were incredibly marked up. The fan in the bathroom did not work and the entire room became incredibly humid during showering.

The staff said the hotel was undergoing upgrades but there were no available rooms currently upgraded. I did not ask to change rooms as I expect most are the same.

Based on what I saw, I’m not sure these rooms should be rented out at all, even at a discounted rate. I feel ripped off even with the steal I got through Expedia.

Valet is $60 so wouldn’t recommend.

I wanted to spend as little time in the room as possible during our short stay.

We had a really lovely experience at this beautifully appointed and perfectly located hotel. We decided to steal a night away together, and were quickly checked in on a beautiful fall Friday night. Walking distance from the historic city locales, the team was great and the room was beautiful and perfect. Our check-in was easy and seamless, and the room and bathroom were perfect, comfortable and well appointed. We valeted the car, so we didn't have to sweat that, and the front desk held our bags so we could check out Saturday morning but still get to wander and enjoy the city. We walked everywhere, got to see some of the historical sites from the outside due to the unfortunate and unnecessary Republican government shutdown, went to a few great restaurants, beer bars and coffee places - it was perfect and we will absolutely stay again next time we want a night in Philly. The valet was busy when we went to get the car, because it was check-in time and wedding central, but the valets were awesome. Really a great spot - thanks!

Name a surface at this hotel and you may find it is FILTHY. From the check-in desk to each & every rug, to the walls and baseboard to the interior/exterior of the elevators to the guest rooms to the couches in the reception area. They claim they are starting a major renovation. That does not excuse ROUTINE MAINTENANCE and CLEANING.

I've had enjoyable stays here in the past, up until this stay. Basically, practically every component of the property was filthy. The floors, counters, walls, baseboards and particularly the rugs --- not only had they not been professionally cleaned, they weren't even vacuumed. The velvet couch had a variety of hair & lint. The chairs were stained and worn.

Tavern experience: martinis were microscopic (and pricey). Chia breakfast bowl featured an unripe pear and overall, was not very good.

When I mentioned the gross lack of cleanliness throughout the facility, the manager launched into their renovations that they are launching. I said that clearly did not discount the obvious lack of routine maintenance.

On a positive note, some of the employees were pleasant.

Great location. Within minutes to the Liberty bell and the Redding terminal is walkable (20 min). Great resturants are close by. Complimentary wine served 5-6 pm.

Rooms are well appointed and staff is very friendly. Unique room decor was very artsy and modern. Not your typical room. We loved it.

Only issues were the tap water had very low pressure and in the room water bottles were $8 each. A bit pricy.

I would highly recommend the hotel.

Check in was a breeze. Was told by front desk staff there was a wine happy hour that evening and coffee and tea in the AM. The restaurant connecting was delicious and you could charge to your room.

Room was huge and beautiful. Large soaking tub IN the shower area so any splashes went right down the drain. Water pressure was perfect and the tub temp was great. Provided soaps made for the perfect bubble bath after a day of touring.

The only downside was there was no HLN channel to watch Forensic Files which is my go-to when I’m traveling.
