Staff was amazing, very helpful and nice.
Building is very nostalgic, history in this hotel.
Beautiful inside and out.
I have a problem with the cleanliness of the room, the room was described you have a balcony (there was no balcony), also there was no lock on the door leading on the ledge (I had to prop a chair on the door for the lock), outlets did not work either, and the floor was not clean.

Positive: A gentleman made a pot of decaf coffee for me. I appreciated that. The bathroom was clean and the towels were fluffy.

Negative: The television was too small to be seen from the bed. A settee and a desk chair were the only other seating options. The settee wasn’t positioned to view the TV which would be ok if the TV was large enough to be viewed from the desk or bed. The bed linens looked as if they needed to be replaced.

This was a gorgeous hotel, and we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The location was great and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. The room was large and exceptionally well maintained, and the hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly.

The only downsides were outlets that didn’t always work and you could hear everyone walking/moving above you. For our group, it was easy to overlook those issues and we mostly attributed it to the fact that it’s a historic hotel.

We’ll definitely stay here again if we’re in the area. Highly recommend.

It's an older hotel which can be a good thing because I love old historic buildings but it can also be a bad thing because it's an old historic building. I did not have a refrigerator in my room so my leftovers were pretty much trashed. The shower is extremely small and so is the bed at night outside. It looks a little scary during the daytime. It looks okay. Everything's cool. Everything's open restaurants, tourism. All of that. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful. I called her and told her that I will be coming in late because I was on a flight that was delayed. She was very helpful and assuring me that my room will be ready no matter how late I arrived. I wish the restaurant next door was open a little later. Overall everyone was nice. The hotel was okay but I just felt very congested in the room. Even the hallway is super slim. However, I was only there for a couple of days so it worked. Not sure if I ever go back though. I'm 4 ft 11 and that shower was too small for me.

This hotel is my #1 for Old City Charm! I absolutely loved everything about it! From the moment you walk in the front door and are greeted by Robert you know that you are somewhere special. They make a weary traveler feel at home and you are placed in an absolutely lovely room with everything you need. You feel safe and comfortable and if you need anything the staff is there to assist you. The restaurant and the bar are top notch and the food and service is excellent. I definitely will be staying at this hotel again and hope very much to see the friends I made while I was there!

Upon arrival the front desk was exceptionally friendly and very professional....heading up to my room the hotel has a cozy vintage charm to it. I got a last minute deal on a king size room with Jacuzzi and river view. I was a little less than impressed as the Jacuzzi was really just the tub in the bathroom with jets. As far as the river view, I was on the 2nd floor so there were trees and shrubbery blocking any kind of decent view. The bathrobes provided in the rooms looked like they got caught in a shredder. The restaurant was fabulous! Great food wine and service! The value was great for the last minute deal I got. Aside from the tiny disappointment of the tub, view, and robes I enjoyed my stay and would absolutely stay here again. I'll request a higher floor next time to get a better view!

I had a cozy little room, just the right size for a single guest, and it had a cute balcony. The blinds on the window and on the balcony door looked nice, but didn't block much light, so bring a sleep mask if you need darkness to sleep. The glass doors to the walk-in shower were a bit sticky, but so what- I prefer that type of shower to one with a bathtub. The free coffee and muffins in the morning were a plus.

We had the best stay! We were there for a concert at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion and we took the ferry over to the concert. Everything was within walking distance and you can also walk to Old Town! We had the cutest room with a Juliet balcony! Highly recommend! We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at Penn’s View! There were three of us in a room with two queen beds & it felt surprisingly spacious. It’d be nice to get a room with a view the next time we’re here, but there was a sweet view from a window near the elevator that we took advantage of every time we walked by. The staff was very helpful & the property nice & clean. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but the bar was lovely - both the bartenders & our drinks made it very worthwhile! We didn’t have a car, but the location was amazing for walking to many of the big locations in historic Philadelphia!

Only thing is the room did need a mirror besides the one in the bathroom. Be careful where you park tho, Philly will tow! Haha but that was a mistake on the city not the hotel. They all were amazing!

The rooms are clean, bright and very homey. I felt like I was in a guest room and not just a hotel room. The staff is wonderful, friendly and helpful. They will give you great suggestions on what to see and restaurants while you’re in Philadelphia. The hotel is about 5 blocks away from the Liberty Bell, the visitor center and the Hall of Independence, as well as the many museums in the city. There are dozen of restaurants within short walking distance. I highly recommend Oenn’s View Hotel.

The hotel was fine. The reception staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful. Our room was very large room but very outdated. Cleanliness was ok… not sure how often it was vacuumed. They couldn’t service the room on one day owing to staff shortages. My biggest problem was the noise from the major road (I-95)…we were in a room on the side and it wasn’t double glazed so heard traffic all the time. Our door also didn’t close properly so it often sounded like someone was knocking on the door. Basically very poor sleep. I’m afraid for that reason I can not recommend the hotel. Reviewers aren’t transparent enough about the road noise.

Interesting little hotel. Nice bath tub which for me is always a big plus. Bedding is not great. Bed is very soft and sheets and pillow cases mismatched. No duvet or blanket. No breakfast but free muffins and coffee. We did not do dinner there so cannot comment on the food but it looked pleasant

I left some glasses there that were prescription glasses in the room and when I called tonight, they said there’s nothing in Lost and Found but I’m hoping that they check under the bed. The glasses were in a case next to the bed on the floor and they could’ve been pushed underneath, hoping that these are found and returned to me. The staff was very friendly.

There seemed to be decent soundproofing to help with the noise from traffic, or hearing other guests. Location is good, many shops and restaurants nearby. There is good public transportation very close. We would stay here again!

The hotel is on the historic register and the integrity of an historic building has been well preserved. The bathroom was modern and immaculate. In addition to the cleanliness, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect to explore the old city area of Philadelphia. On my next visit to Philadelphia, I will stay there.

We stayed in room with balcony and river view. I would definitely recommend to stay in this room !!!! The view from the balcony was amazing !!!! Staff are tremendous!!! Muffins and coffee were nice. First night at restaurant we weren’t impressed, but the 2nd night we were. the drinks we ordered and the food we ordered were delicious!!! So I would recommend the restaurant based on our 2nd impression. Market street has a lot of homeless. I would recommend staying away from that street. We found a restaurant on the river that was wonderful!!

Our Balcony was smaller then in the pictures and we could not sit out on it to watch the water. Overall a clean place to sleep with lot of history all around you.

The restaurant doesn’t open until 5. The room we stayed in was small but nice. There was only scalding hot water in the sink and shower. You can hear everything outside your room. The refrigerator and ac unit made noise all night. There is valet parking but isn’t noticeable so parking in the lot next door is probably a better bet. The parking lot next door however is not attended all night so you can’t get your car out early without making prior arrangements.

However, the bathroom lacked space to put items like a curling iron and needed towel bars. There was a hook on the back of the bathroom door, but that was hard to reach from the shower.

This is my second time staying at Penn's View (last stay 04-07-2025 - 04-11-2025). I am somewhat pleased with my visit but I had reserved a room with a Juliet balcony facing Market Street. Was put in a room with one window instead. Although Penn's View has no responsibility within the neighborhood it appears the area has become more sketchy since 2025.

If you like antique hotels this is definitely a great pick! Facing away from city centre towards the river, this hotel is a nice getaway on its own. The room was spacious and large and the bed was comfortable. The furniture, bathtub, and other decorative elements provide a glimpse into colonial styling. The restaurant and wine bar downstairs were exceptional in particular the large selection by the glass or bottle.

We were expecting funky charm, but the property seems sad and in need of sprucing up. The front desk was hit or miss, with little communication among them (the taxi we'd asked to be available wasn't ordered). Also spotty outages of internet and hot/cold water. Our room hadn't been vacuumed before our arrival, or at all during our 7 day stay.
