The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a great wine bar. The room was quaint and cute. Some picky items: the AC clicked on and off all night, the mattress could use an upgrade, there could be better pillows. Would still stay there again. Great location and we appreciate a quaint boutique hotel.

The staff was very accomodating and our room was nicely appointed. We didn't want a room facing the street because the highway is adjacent and is noisy. There seemed to be decent soundproofing to help with the noise from traffic, or hearing other guests. Location is good, many shops and restaurants nearby. There is good public transportation very close. We would stay here again!

The hotel is on the historic register and the integrity of an historic building has been well preserved. The bathroom was modern and immaculate. In addition to the cleanliness, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect to explore the old city area of Philadelphia. On my next visit to Philadelphia, I will stay there.

We stayed in room with balcony and river view. I would definitely recommend to stay in this room !!!! The view from the balcony was amazing !!!! Staff are tremendous!!! Muffins and coffee were nice. First night at restaurant we weren’t impressed, but the 2nd night we were. the drinks we ordered and the food we ordered were delicious!!! So I would recommend the restaurant based on our 2nd impression. Market street has a lot of homeless. I would recommend staying away from that street. We found a restaurant on the river that was wonderful!!

Great location for exploring the historical sites near Penn's Landing. Lots of good options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner nearby for all budgets. Our Balcony was smaller then in the pictures and we could not sit out on it to watch the water. Overall a clean place to sleep with lot of history all around you.

The restaurant doesn’t open until 5. The room we stayed in was small but nice. There was only scalding hot water in the sink and shower. You can hear everything outside your room. The refrigerator and ac unit made noise all night. There is valet parking but isn’t noticeable so parking in the lot next door is probably a better bet. The parking lot next door however is not attended all night so you can’t get your car out early without making prior arrangements.

Very convenient for visiting the Independence Square and all the touristy sites. Only muffins and coffee for breakfast but very helpful staff. Our room was spacious and special on the top floor with a peaked ceiling.

The room was clean, and the staff was professional. Great location! We were able to walk to quite a few landmarks and museums. However, the bathroom lacked space to put items like a curling iron and needed towel bars. There was a hook on the back of the bathroom door, but that was hard to reach from the shower.

This is my second time staying at Penn's View (last stay 04-07-2025 - 04-11-2025). I am somewhat pleased with my visit but I had reserved a room with a Juliet balcony facing Market Street. Was put in a room with one window instead. Although Penn's View has no responsibility within the neighborhood it appears the area has become more sketchy since 2025.

If you like antique hotels this is definitely a great pick! Facing away from city centre towards the river, this hotel is a nice getaway on its own. The room was spacious and large and the bed was comfortable. The furniture, bathtub, and other decorative elements provide a glimpse into colonial styling. The restaurant and wine bar downstairs were exceptional in particular the large selection by the glass or bottle.

We were expecting funky charm, but the property seems sad and in need of sprucing up. The front desk was hit or miss, with little communication among them (the taxi we'd asked to be available wasn't ordered). Also spotty outages of internet and hot/cold water. Our room hadn't been vacuumed before our arrival, or at all during our 7 day stay.

Our room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable! The shower, tub was really nice; however, if you have mobility problems then you would not like because you have to step over a high tub to get in! The coffee and muffins were good in the common area! Location was the best, walking distance from most desirable attractions, and food!

Your bedroom description (standard 2 queen beds) is incorrect on your website. There was No view.😠
This hotel does not have 2 Queen size beds in a room. We were given a very warm 1 Queen bed room which did not work for us.

The manager was able to assign us a clean king bedroom.
We enjoyed the bar and the food was delicious. The manager was excellent. Location was okay. A little noisy without a view😠

The hotel is old fashioned in a good way. The staff is attentive and responsive. Check-in involved pen and paper, and there are metal keys. Has a strong European vibe. … The location is fabulous - near cool bars and restaurants and a short walk to Independence Hall and other historic sites in the Old City.

Was pleased room looked just like I had booked. For price the room was bigger and more authentic than if we had booked a little closer to independence hall. Not far by any means though…maybe another 5 min walk. Fireplace didn’t work but was more just curious to turn it on, wasn’t a big deal but appropriately cold outside. Would definitely consider again. Probably don’t use the parking lot next door read some bad things about it and pretty sure I saw an SUV with window broken. I didn’t have any issues at old city auto park a little down the way.

I stay in a different hotel in a different city 3-4 nights a week. The hotel isn’t bad. It’s pretty clean. They have the basics. I’m not sure if this is true for all the rooms. But the room I stayed in was way over priced for what it was. The room was tiny to begin with. It didn’t have a refrigerator. The windows looked across an alley to the windows of the hallway that you walked in from. I was just fairly disappointed in the room for that price. As I type this, I’m at a hotel in Wisconsin with a much better room that I got for $20 cheaper. And that is about the norm for most of the places I’ve stayed at. I normally don’t go for rooms this expensive but I thought I was going to be getting some fancy hotel room judging from the name and the rating. I didn’t find that to be the case. I would not recommend this hotel when I know I could get a better room for cheaper

This was a quick overnight trip. The hotel location was central to many neighboring tourist attractions and businesses. The hotel staff were also very friendly. The cleanliness was impeccable. If I have to travel that way again, I would certainly stay again.

I really wanted to give this hotel a good rating but unfortunately a lot went awry. When their policies are sent,as well as when you check in, you are threatened with, "even if we smell a scent of smoke in your room, you will be charged $100". Not only did my room smell of marijuana but the entire hallway. I did go to the front desk to get additional washcloths and informed the front desk assistant and there was absolutely no concern or anything done about it. Our bathroom sink did not drain, the outlet by the sink did not work and the worst of it all there was no hot water for showers, lukewarm at best. When we notified the front desk the manager on duty came up to "apologize" and told us that unfortunately, sometimes these things happen. He was going to try and get a room cleaned for us to go in and take showers but we did not have time to wait. I did a sponge bath with the lukewarm to cool water and by the time I was done, which was pretty quick, I had water up pass my ankles.
The rooms are quaint, the hotel is historical but it sits facing a highway. Fortunately, we did not hear the traffic. I would not recommend.

This hotel is so charming, this is my first time staying in an older building and I really loved the vibe. I like that they don’t have room cards, that they actually use keys for the rooms. They also let me check my bag so I didn’t have to lug it around the city while I waited for my train back. The staff is very friendly and I would absolutely recommend this hotel for your stay. The hotel is also close to the subway which made it very easy to get around the city.

The heat in the room was so loud that we had to keep it off to sleep even though it was very cold outside. The fitted sheet also kept falling off the bed and the mattress cover was ripped. The room definitely could have benefited from curtains as well to help with the light at night. The hotel itself was very nice and it’s a nice perk to have the wine bar/restaurant on site.

We had an excellent stay here during Philly’s recent snow storm. While most restaurants were closed the hotel made sure to provide an option for take out dinner or ice cream. The staff was friendly and the Family Room Suite was perfect for our stay with my sister & mom. Heater worked well and loved the windows and balcony to watch the snow. Many dining and attractions within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again. Take note parking next to hotel is $37/night

We had an AMAZING STAY here during MLK weekend. Our room had a gas fireplace and balcony. Downstairs is an Italian restaurant (Panorama) and a great bar with -124 wines on tap. Look them both up! We went for a night to watch an event at Xfinity (15 min Uber). We loved it so much that we booked an extra night. Special shout out to the staff (Antonio and Robert) that greeted us. They were VERY accommodating and looked out for us. Antonio hooked us up with a really special evening once he found out it was a birthday celebration. We HIGHLY recommend staying here. Cozy, comfortable room in a fun area. Lots of bars and restaurants. Thank you for a great weekend!
