I really wanted to give this hotel a good rating but unfortunately a lot went awry. When their policies are sent,as well as when you check in, you are threatened with, \"even if we smell a scent of smoke in your room, you will be charged $100\". Not only did my room smell of marijuana but the entire hallway. I did go to the front desk to get additional washcloths and informed the front desk assistant and there was absolutely no concern or anything done about it. Our bathroom sink did not drain, the outlet by the sink did not work and the worst of it all there was no hot water for showers, lukewarm at best. When we notified the front desk the manager on duty came up to \"apologize\" and told us that unfortunately, sometimes these things happen. He was going to try and get a room cleaned for us to go in and take showers but we did not have time to wait. I did a sponge bath with the lukewarm to cool water and by the time I was done, which was pretty quick, I had water up pass my ankles.
The rooms are quaint, the hotel is historical but it sits facing a highway. Fortunately, we did not hear the traffic. I would not recommend.

This hotel is so charming, this is my first time staying in an older building and I really loved the vibe. I like that they don’t have room cards, that they actually use keys for the rooms. They also let me check my bag so I didn’t have to lug it around the city while I waited for my train back. The staff is very friendly and I would absolutely recommend this hotel for your stay. The hotel is also close to the subway which made it very easy to get around the city.

The heat in the room was so loud that we had to keep it off to sleep even though it was very cold outside. The fitted sheet also kept falling off the bed and the mattress cover was ripped. The room definitely could have benefited from curtains as well to help with the light at night. The hotel itself was very nice and it’s a nice perk to have the wine bar/restaurant on site.

We had an excellent stay here during Philly’s recent snow storm. While most restaurants were closed the hotel made sure to provide an option for take out dinner or ice cream. The staff was friendly and the Family Room Suite was perfect for our stay with my sister & mom. Heater worked well and loved the windows and balcony to watch the snow. Many dining and attractions within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again. Take note parking next to hotel is $37/night

We had an AMAZING STAY here during MLK weekend. Our room had a gas fireplace and balcony. Downstairs is an Italian restaurant (Panorama) and a great bar with -124 wines on tap. Look them both up! We went for a night to watch an event at Xfinity (15 min Uber). We loved it so much that we booked an extra night. Special shout out to the staff (Antonio and Robert) that greeted us. They were VERY accommodating and looked out for us. Antonio hooked us up with a really special evening once he found out it was a birthday celebration. We HIGHLY recommend staying here. Cozy, comfortable room in a fun area. Lots of bars and restaurants. Thank you for a great weekend!

We loved this hotel. It's within walking distance to many Philly highlights. The staff were great and helpful. The room was cozy and clean. Spring for the bathroom with the big jet tub; we were very glad we did and enjoyed it. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

The hotel is adjacent to Interstate 95, so the noise from traffic is pretty loud. Despite the noise, the hotel is conveniently located near historic sites and attractions in Center City Philadelphia and is in Olde City, a nice area with many shops and restaurants nearby. Overall, a good value for a hotel in Philadelphia.

We arrived hungry and exhausted on Friday evening after being on the road for 2 hours driving in the rain. After a painless checkin, we were given our room key and a discount coupon for the Panorama restaurant on the 1st floor. Rather than venturing back out into the rain to find dinner, we made ourselves presentable and came back down to have a delightful dinner at the bar. The food was delicious, the beverage selection, ample, and the service top notch.

After retiring to our room, we found it well appointed, and we enjoyed the gas fireplace on both evenings. Overall, I really enjoyed the character of the property and the room. It was walking distance from everywhere that we needed to be for the weekend and I will definitely stay here again when visiting friends/family in Philadelphia.

Room: Nice (comfortable) but dated. Looks like it hasn't been redone in a long time (wallpaper, lampshades, etc.). The plug down behind the nightstand is hard to reach (not helpful). Windows look really dirty, thus affecting the river view.
Bathroom: Shower wall (glass) didn't look clean, and there are spots on the floor that could be removed with a serious cleaning.
(Sorry to sound so picky, but we have expectations when it comes to cleanliness and amenities).
Bar: We each had a lovely glass of wine and shared the antipasti plate (delicious!). The bartender was most welcoming and hospitable.

The hotel itself was beautiful and charming. The room was very clean and had a nice rustic touch to them - exposed brick, dark wood furniture, patterned wallpaper. It was just missing some normal modern essentials like a small fridge and a microwave. I know you can rent a mini-fridge but it was just midly inconvenient. There was also a strange small incident where the hotel manager wanted to know when we were leaving for the day so he could take care of a maintenance issue but he was mildly pushy and dismissive. Not a big deal but ruffled a few feathers. Overall, would stay here again. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but the offerings seemed classy and delicious. You receive a 25% discount at the hotel restaurant when you book here.

One thing, the tub/shower water is does not get hot. The sink water gets hot, but if you don't mind cold bath or shower there you go.

I love staying here. I grew up here so this has always been a very well kept secret. The rooms are always spotless. I picked a room facing the water and it was beautiful. The gentleman that checked us in was very nice. We had a fireplace, the bed was comfortable. Looking forward to our stay again in the summer next time we are in town.

We loved our river-facing room with the cozy fireplace. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to all of the historical sites. When we went to the center city it was just s short Uber ride. We had a fabulous meal at the restaurant one night,and there were many casual restaurants to choose from. It was fun to read the history of the building that made kit a registered historical site. Perfect stay for our first-time Philadelphia visit.

I took my daughter to a concert in the area, so I booked here because it was near the venue.

The room was clean and absolutely gorgeous. And the hotel was located in a pretty walkable area. Also, the restaurant inside of it was good and the prices were decent.

Quite loud so ask for hotel away from highway noise. Let us leave luggage as we were there before checkin. Very nice and easy check in. They tacked on extra fee but then took it off so no problem.
They have coffee in lobby but would be nice if they had tea or kettle to make tea for those who don't drink coffee.
