We have stayed at the Palomar in the past and were disappointed that they no longer provide robes and there is no longer a coffee maker in the room. No one wants to leave their room to get morning coffee..

Easily a top 3 Hotel for me in Philadelphia. I got the Suite w/ the hot tub and it was needed. Stayed 2 nights with a friend and we were relaxed. Its in a great part of town surrounded by small bars, high end restaurants and everything in between. Its all in walking distance. The employees were helpful and the doormen were great and helpful. Will absolutely stay again.

Usually, I have a really good experience at this hotel, but not this time. The whole point of me booking the room with the jetted tub is to infect be able to use the tub. At the end of the night when I realized that the tub did not in fact work properly and did not drain so you couldn’t get the dirty water out. I complained to the front desk and the complaint seem to fall on deaf ears.

Lovely, kind, helpful front desk staff! Rooms are very spacious and clean. Great location.
It was extraordinarily cold outside so it took a very long time to get hot water and decent heat in the room, but other than that, we had a great stay and would stay again!

Hidden charges - after our stay , i downloaded to find a $144 \"accommodation fee\" was added to my bill plus the $28/day resort fee (resort fee I knew about), and then the perks for being an IHG \"Diamond Elite\" member and for Hotels.com membership were ignored. Total confusion between restaurant and front desk as to how free drink benefit (which never received) was supposed to work.
Also fire alarm continued to go off in our room on Friday so they moved us to a new room. I think they did not believe us until about 20 mins later they sent someone to our room. Then the next night, a water main break set off an alarm sending everyone in the hotel to the lobby for about 30 mins at 1 AM to witness gallons and gallons of water streaming down into the entrance and lobby.
Staff were zero help with bags checking in and moving to new room due to fire alarm malfunction. .Hotel is also showing signs of deferred maintenance. Stayed here many times, but never going back.

Price was much higher then expected upon check in. Room had a nice view of center city. Bathroom layout was awkward and I could not reach the hair dryer above the sink. Lights flickered, outlets were in the worse places in terms of hair appliances, sheets were discolored and rings from drinks seems to be on every surface. Other then that seemed very clean just damaged from past messes. Room did not come with robes and slippers. Staff was super kind but be aware cleaning comes very early. Heard from fellow guests the restaurant was very good.

I stayed in this hotel for an interview in Philadelphia. At 0130 the night before my interview, I awoke to a high pitched, shrill, constant noise. This noise persisted for about 20-30 minutes. I called the front desk and they sent someone up to evaluate, by which point the noise had stopped. They suggested it was due to \"electrical wiring\" and did not have a solution for this overnight. My only options were to move room or to hope it didn't come back. I opted for the latter, but the noise came back around 0200 and wouldn't stop. Ultimately I had to completely move room at about 0230 the night before an interview, and no one even offered to help me carry my belongings through the hallway at nearly 3am. I got about 2 hours of sleep before my interview. The compensation I was offered was to waive the \"amenity fee\" (which is a scam to begin with) but I accepted. On checkout, they still tried to charge me the amenity fee, saying that because I had \"used the benefits\" by going to the restaurant, I should essentially still have to pay, though ultimately I was able to get them to comp the amenity fee. Overall, I understand some things are beyond hotels' control but the customer service was completely devoid of any regard for what I had to deal with, and I felt nickeled-and-dimed by what claims to be a 4 star hotel. Disappointing and would recommend to stay elsewhere

I was \"upgraded\" to a very tired room. It was clean enough, but a bit cut-up in layout so felt cramped. The wire on the hairdryer was frayed. The TP holder was not anchored in wall. Paint drops on wallpaper, bureau had significant chips. Restaurant was good and folks tending bar were friendly. Still, not the best Kimpton experience, for sure. Husband left watch in room and despite leaving two messages at lost and found and then being sent to a website to file a report, I still haven't heard anything ... just called again this a.m. and was promised a call back (not sure why one report on the day we returned home didn't merit a call back but there you go.

My first stay at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia was fantastic. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comfortable, clean and convenient hotel. The hotel’s prime location near popular local attractions makes it an ideal base for exploring the city. Although I would have appreciated more diverse breakfast options beyond the standard American breakfast, it was still enjoyable. However, I found myself getting bored after three consecutive days of the same menu. The ability to text the staff was awesome. They were quick to response and accommodated my needs and or requests right away. I would consider staying here again in the future!

I wasn’t going to leave a review but since you insist, I really was not thrilled with having to wait two hours to check in. The check in time was 3pm, and upon arrival my girlfriend and I were informed that the room was not ready. We were told that there was no estimate on when the room would be ready, but that I would receive a text notifying me when the room was ready. I received no such text. Shortly after 5pm I asked the front desk worker where I could use the restroom, and was only then told that the room was in fact ready. Based on the reviews I read, this is a pretty common experience lately. However I did receive a text making sure I was leaving on time!

Kimpton Palomar Philly is really about location and the people — and the people are great. The staff were genuinely lovely, especially the room service attendant on 12/31. We had a quiet king room (no city view). No fireworks noise, though you do hear street noise. The room was on the larger side of small, but everything felt dated: furnishings, curtains, headboard, phone, fixtures, linens, towels — all very ’90s, including the tub/shower combo. The carpet was dingy and it definitely needs a refresh (ask for slippers).

Room service came in a bag instead of on a tray, which made eating for two a little awkward. We had our two small dogs with us, and while the hotel itself is very dog-friendly (which we appreciate — it’s why we usually choose Kimptons), the immediate area really isn’t. It’s busy, loud, and there’s no grass nearby. Rittenhouse Square is a short walk away, but when it’s 12° outside, that’s not exactly a practical solution.

Food was average, the postcard station is super cute, and overall it feels like a solid 3-star hotel where you’re paying for the location and the staff more than the room itself.

Wonderful room! Single queen rm 609 beautiful view. Angled windows with windiw seats. Nicely scented body wash. Free waters. Anenities like keurig, tea kettle. Daily hot apple cider, popcorn hour. $20/day incentive for restaurant or mini-snack. Location close to everything like Rittenhouse Square, Mummers Parade route, stores, restaurants, New Years Eve fireworks. Very attentuve staff. Restaurant food delicious! Breakfast coupon amazing deal and delicious, although same breakfast daily, so good did not mind.

Best thing about our stay was the location. Easy walk to many great restaurants and bars. Also appreciate the social hour in the lobby with wine and popcorn - please try not to burn the popcorn though!
But this hotel has many add on charges including an amenities fee per guest of $28 and parking that is very high (58 to park overnight plus 22.5% parking tax). All in all, might make a different choice next time with all the nickel and diming going on. But if you don’t care about cost that much, this is a very decent place to stay

We put our dog down on Christmas and got an hotel room to take our mind off things. I specifically got a room with a jacuzzi tub which was NOT cleaned properly. There were hairs in the tub and it was gross. The sink didn’t drain at all, and the AC was buzzing to the point we had to call the front desk and have the tub and AC taken care of. We also asked for housekeeping to clean the bathroom again, and they didn’t.

Disappointing to say the least.

The hotel and staff were great. Our only complaint was the lack of hot water for the first 24 hours. The hotel was aware of the issue and resolved it, and offered us a partial credit since we had booked our particular room for the jacuzzi bath tub (which was rendered useless w/o hot water for the first day). The staff was very apologetic and we appreciated their effort to make up for it.

From the beginning - I was greeted by many smiling faces. Akira, TerryAnn and Onalisa made my stay incredibly comfortable. They were there to answer as many questions as I had as well as provided directions to many things! The room was clean, and the housekeeping did an amazing job making sure everything was spotless. I also wanted to talk about the attached restaurant - you can use that amenity fee credit towards the restaurant. Do not neglect paying the breakfast fee! it literally not only saved me so much money! Square 1682 does so much right! The food is rich and tasty. I was there almost every day haha. I want to give a special shout out the hosts - Francesca and Tauna. They made my nights incredibly fun with their banter and recomendations. I also want to shoutout the servers - Carson, Cindy, and Kaitlyn. They knew the menu back and forth and their smiles and superior service has made me a fan of this place! I highly recommend it!

Overall we had a good stay. The Palomar is in a terrific location, easily accessible for sightseeing and there’s a great restaurant just around the corner (Dizengoff- make reservations). My biggest complaint is that there was not enough hot water for morning showers. Also, there does not seem to be a designated working space for business travelers. Otherwise no complaints.

The biggest problem was that we had no hot water the next morning. The room was surprisingly tiny, even for a center city hotel. There was no coffee maker in the room. We asked for late check out and they gave us an extra 30 minutes which wasn’t very helpful but otherwise the staff were great—friendly and efficient.

The staff made the stay very enjoyable! They were always ready to help and friendly. Loved the evening social hour that allowed guests and even their pets to enjoy drinks and visit with each other.

Our room was a great size for having a small dog. However it did need a very thorough dusting. Bathroom cleanliness was excellent.
