Standard rooms are very small, which is understandable, but noise transmission is terrible. A group of females had a mini party in the hallway on the 25th floor and they. were. loud. Separately, I heard some footsteps from the floor above. Room service was mediocre. The delivery person turned cold the second he realized that I didn't give EXTRA tip above the 20% that was already charged on the bill. Overall, not a super pleasant experience.

There is no better place to ring in the New Year than the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia. We stayed for NYE plus two additional days, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. The historic architecture of the building provided a grand backdrop for the holiday festivities, and the atmosphere was electric yet refined.

The service was quintessential Ritz—anticipatory and warm. Whether we were enjoying a cocktail in the stunning lobby lounge or retreating to our room, the staff made us feel like the only guests in the building. It was the perfect home base for exploring the city after the ball dropped. An unforgettable start to the year; we are already looking forward to our next stay!

The bar was fine. The server was a little rude. We sat at a little table and my friend got us drinks and she told us the hostess should have seated us. We didn’t see a hostess anywhere. We did get another drink and another server brought it. She was new and very nice.

Room was adequate and clean, staff were friendly. Wasn't able to get anyone in room service, concierge, or others of the direct dial buttons on the phone after checking into the room, but eventually the gentlemen at the front desk was able to help me with finding a great spot for a walk up holiday meal.

The amenities left a bit to be desired when compared to my stay at this same property a few years ago. The bathrobe was much thinner and a lower quality, there were less overall amenities in the room and offered as additional services (things like turn down, bath, other specialties, and less room service options)

I've stayed at Ritz Carlton properties for years and for the most part my stays have been enjoyable. However, this stay was one of the worst in recent memory and I'm not sure if I will stay at a Ritz Carlton property again in the future. Some of the pillow cases were stained/dirty, the towels felt like sand paper, the phone was not working, the fire alarm went off at 6am Sunday morning and life safety instructions were unclear at best, my wife ordered a bagel and it was not only poor in quality it was burnt black, just a terrible experience.

Bed was really comfy. Wasn't impressed with the room though for the prices of a Ritz and it didn't have refrigerator other than the mini-bar. The bartenders and bellmen were FANTASTIC! Breakfast was average, but the eggs were excellent! Be aware you will hear the bell from City Hall on the hour so if you want to sleep in, don't stay here!

Very bad experience.
We went for one night to attend a concert and chose the Ritz-Carlton because we wanted a comfortable, high-quality stay. It was a family trip, and our previous experiences at other Ritz-Carlton hotels had always been great.
Unfortunately, this time it was the complete opposite. We were given a room on the 23rd floor, and when we arrived, there was a small fridge literally lying on the floor, hair in the shower and around the toilet area, and stained sheets.
I went down to the front desk and spoke with a very kind lady who apologized and moved us to the 16th floor, also giving us a $100 credit. But when we got to the new room, the bathtub again had hair in several places. I went back downstairs, and all I got were more apologies. After coming back to the room no cleaning was done and bathroom was left the same not properly cleaned
When we were leaving, they offered to request our car from the valet, but we had to wait over 25 minutes for it to arrive.
The hotel lobby looks nice, but the facilities are old and the cleanliness is terrible. It’s not what you expect when you pay for a Ritz-Carlton. We stayed at the one in Orlando back in July, and from the moment we arrived, the service was amazing, they even welcomed us with champagne or your choice of water. The place was spotless and the service outstanding.
Sadly, I don’t recommend this one

Room was not that clean. The HVAC vent in the room and in the closet were dusty, and there was dust on the closet door that prohibited us from using the supplies that were in the closet. There was also a clanking noise that could be heard in the wall throughout our entire stay. This hindered our sleeping greatly. We also noticed a stain on the lower sheet that goes over the boxspring. It was visible when we walked into the room.Our hotel phones in the room did not work properly when we tried to order room service. The customer service was very friendly, and the food in the restaurant downstairs was very good. We had multiple breakfasts and dinners downstairs and they were all wonderful. Overall, we were disappointed with this being a five star hotel, and the cleanliness of our room. We expected more.

I was really disappointed to see that the hotel charges $18 per night for Wi-Fi. In all my years of traveling around the world and staying at many luxury hotels, this is the first time I’ve encountered such a policy. It felt outdated and unnecessary, especially considering that even budget hotels now offer complimentary Wi-Fi as a basic amenity.

What surprised me most is that this is the Ritz-Carlton, a brand known for exceptional service and attention to detail. A charge like this creates a negative impression and makes guests feel nickel-and-dimed rather than valued. It genuinely affected my overall experience and left a bad taste after what could have been a pleasant stay.

Unfortunately, because of this, I don’t plan to stay at the Ritz again. When guests pay premium rates, small gestures like complimentary Wi-Fi make a big difference in how the experience feels.

Terrible experience. Got in late from traveling and I didn’t expect to walk into a smoke room with smoky wet dirty stinky pillows. The room smelt smoky and moldy. The bathtub was dirty. I would honestly love a refund. I’m also a Marriot member and haven’t experienced this before and when I spend a lot of money I expect a clean room. Especially traveling with two toddlers.

Celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary at the Ritz for 2 nights and it was amazing. Perfect. The check in process was quick and Bettina was so friendly. The lobby is gorgeous with a restaurant (open til 11pm)and bar open til 1am. Our deluxe king room was so nice with a city view. The location is perfect and we could walk to so many restaurants. This hotel is located right next to city hall, across the street from capital grill and McCormick and Shmicks. We were about a block from Del Friscos and maybe 2 blocks to El Vez. These restaurants are all popular dinner spots in Philly. Stay here! The property is so clean and the staff is so friendly. Nick the bartender was amazing and the doormen are so great as well. Hope to be back soon!

I have stayed at a number of Ritz and Four Seasons properties. This is not top tier. We stayed in a standard room which had a battered old refrigerator sitting on the floor. That is not Ritz, that’s airport Marriott. Ditto the half-functioning phone. And the toiletries which genuinely smelled bad. I remember when Ritz had Bulgari toiletries. Room service was very good, service in the bar and restaurant was lazy and uninvolved. This hotel needs a major refresh and some new energy and commitment in food and beverage.

Checking in took at least 15 minutes after I was being helped at the counter. No idea why as I had no questions or issues. Being charged $4 for an ice cube at the bar was frustrating, partly b/c it's ridiculous and partly b/c it's not transparent. You order an $18 drink and it shows up as $22 without a line item comes across as price gauging.

The Lobby, the Restaurant is fabulous we had a great meal.
The hotel, need refurbishing!!! Super sad to see how it has declined !
Room service came with a Black polyester table cloth ( horribly cheap). We had a huge room, no seating except desk chair. I asked them to bring up some chairs as my husband was recovering from surgery, we got 2 very old mixed matched chairs….. had to put a sheet on them. The young man that brought them was very nice, attentive and apologetic of the condition.

My friends and I arrived to the Ritz Carlton to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Upon check in we were upgraded to a Luxury Suite with Club Lounge amenities. We were treated so kind , had brunch at Aquiermo and had a great time! I will definitely come back and try the spa. The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, and the ambience was beautiful! The only ‘no’ I will remember is the “No, I will never stay at this property again”. My girlfriend and I were in town and stayed at The Ritz Carlton Philadelphia. The property looked elegant and inviting on their Instagram page as well as on the internet which was the main reason I picked The Ritz Carlton instead of The Four Seasons at Comcast Center, however it didn’t seem to be that way when I arrived at the property.

My other main concern was that one African American front desk associate who was not so pleasant and had a negative attitude during check in. I asked the lady a few significant questions and she seemed disinterested in giving assistance.

Both Men’s and Women’s bathroom (according to my girlfriend) in the lobby were also not maintained and in disrepair.

I am a big fan of The Ritz Carlton and the service it offers since I’ve been to a few in the country, but the one in Philadelphia needs to uphold the prestige and the top tier service that I believe the brand still stands for.

They definitely judge a book by its cover

My husband and I are very casual people. When on vacation we dress for comfort not buisness. We had one of the best suites the hotel offered. We couldn't dine at the hotel because we only had casual clothes. My tennis shoes, shorts and top were Louis Vuitton. Not throwing money out there but I was wearing over 6k in clothes and shoes and a 70k presidential Rolex, I was wearing more than the people who refused us service probably made in a year. I get having a dress code but this hotel is in such need of a makeover to even have a dress code. The carpets are so stained it was repulsive. One security gaurd blocked the door to the hotel and wouldn't let us through. He asked can i help you and we said no we are just going to our room and he literally said \"you have a room here?\" Just because my husband was wearing nike wind pants and a nautica t-shirt. Four seasons it is for me i have never been treated with anything but respect there.

The building itself is gorgeous. A testament to bygone era grandeur. However, inside the rooms are lacking,. Worn, dated furnishings and mismatched decor, cheap, low grade towels, all were a disappointment compared to other Ritz Carlton properties. Hotel rooms need an update.i paid $1300 for one night in a suite, I was expecting Ritz-Call to luxury. Instead I got basic hotel amenities.

The head rest of the bed was dirty and sticky..we asked to get it cleaned. Never happened so we cleaned it up ourselves. The water pressure was so poor, you could not take a shower properly. We asked drive to open a water pressure and never got fixed. Would not stay here again.

The entire staff at the Ritz deserve kudos and praise for having made New Year’s Eve such unforgettable experience. It was something out of a Fairy Tale and my stay will forever be one I remember fondly in my heart!

I don’t want to forget anyone from the staff at the front door greeting us, the bellboys to the wonderful team at the Reception. I do, however, want to emphasize a special mention for having done such extraordinary work to Lauren, all the servers at Aqimero and in particular the bartenders which made New Year’s Eve possible!!

And a personal shout out to that gorgeous man ws in charge of setting up the venue to make it look, in every way, that we were borrowing a page out of The Great Gatsby for this evening. He did a fabulous job and I had the privilege to speak to him afterwards and was blown away by his commitment to Event Planning.

All in all, I hope this review brings great News to all the team at the Ritz and that they know I could never have dreamed a better way to close 2024 and start the New Year 2025 than in sharing time, company and memories at The Ritz!
