Common areas were clean and tidy, well maintained. Took two attempts to get key cards to work. Coffee machine in reception makes some incredibly foul tasting lattes, tasted sour!
Room was a different story, lots of maintenance issues. Lock jam was loose, almost like it had been forced and just put back in place, without being repaired properly. The dead bolt on the door didn't work, didnt move at all when the lever was turned. Security bar barely engaged.
I slept with a chair jammed against the door! Vinyl floor was one of those you don't like walking on because its sticky. Seats on the sofa had the Velcro that holds them in place ripped out so they wouldn't stay in place. Toilet roll holder bar was missing, so toilet roll was on top of tank. Generally shoddy decoration. TV worked and the bed was comfortable. No one at reception when i checked out to provide the feedback. No coffee despite there being a coffee maker. Good thing it was only for one night.

The hotel wasn’t terrible, and for the price it’s definitely budget friendly. The location was convenient and check in was simple. Just be aware there is a $100 deposit required at check in.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness was not what I hoped for. There were quite a few stains throughout the room, which made it feel less clean than I’m comfortable with. Nothing extreme, but enough to make me feel a little uneasy during the stay.

If you’re looking for something affordable for a quick trip, it may work. However, cleanliness is very important to me, and because of that I’m not sure I would stay here again.

Good Customer Service, easy to find, the room was great. Comfortable bed, I love the fireplace, the room was nice and clean. It actually felt like a little apartment. I like the separate front door entrance. I was on the first floor,, i see it could it get easily noisy if i had someone busy above me. I could hear them in their bathroom and the water when running only down fall. But I would definitely stay again!

Upon check in around 10pm, the front desk mentioned they couldn't find our reservation, even though we had confirmation from hotels.com. The staff from hotels.com mentioned there was no room available for the stay, while the front desk mentioned there is technically room but they would have to be charging way more than what we originally booked for. Not exactly sure which party was at fault, but ultimately, after an hour of going back and forth between hotels.com and the hotel front desk, we decided to leave and had to find another accommodation else where for our stay.

I liked the set up of my unit. It was convenient and comfortable. I liked the bathroom in each bedroom. The carpet was stained and the bathroom in one room had a slow draining issue in the tub and the kitchen sink had a leak when washing the dishes. Other than that it was cool.

The hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood, but that’s the only thing beautiful about this place. The pictures don’t match what you’re getting and are very misleading. The images don’t show that your hotel has exterior entrances, which is not what I wanted. Walking up to our room there was nothing but cigarette buds everywhere. Once we got in, there was a weird smell to the room, but we didn’t think anything of it. We walk inside and the maintenance of our room was very poorly done. There were stains all throughout the carpet. Burn marks on the furniture, and the bathroom door barely closed. To make matters worse, there was no cold water in the shower so the water was scalding hot. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was completely covered in dust. There also wasn’t a down comforter on the bed like most hotels, but what looked like a sheet with a slightly bigger sheet. I would not stay again nor recommend this place to anyone.

Mold infested and smelled so strongly. The floors were covered in black dirt and mold and the bath mat was black after 1 shower, after being placed on the floor. Our feet were always black and when we took a shower, black soot ran down the drain and chunks of black mold. Weird messes splattered on the curtains and weird opening in the wall that wouldnt close and it was dusty damp and disgusting.

It actually doesn't look like it's a hotel other than an apartment complex it's pretty safe in the most part I didn't venture out cuz I don't have a car however the room was clean except for the light flickering on and off my room but it's a small studio room that has a couch and a table kitchenette full size refrigerator king size bed I'm in a handicap room so the bathrooms well equipped for that other than that it's not a bad place at all I'll definitely stay here again and for the price I got it for it's well worth it

WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN. The lady who checked us in was nice though and parking was plentiful. Sure, we were able to live here for 5 days, but it was uncomfortable. The apartment was organized but dirty. The carpet turned my toddler's foot black. There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang anything and the towel rack was broken and tossed underneath the sink. Lots of areas were not vacuumed or cleaned: behind the one-person seat in the corner were cobwebs and dead bugs, in the corners in the bedrooms, above the mirrors - basically any space that isn't touched on a daily basis was dusty and unclean. Every day there were new bugs in the bathroom (rollie pollies, silverfish, crickets). I have no idea where they were coming in from. On one morning there was a GIANT wolf spider in the corner of one bedroom. Thankfully we were able to find staff to come and remove it (he brought it outside, he was also very nice). I didn't speak with the front desk about our stay because the first room we were assigned, the keycard didn't work. Rather than getting the cards redone, I asked for a new room because outside the first room, it smelled like marijuana and cigarettes (normally would've let that go but had a toddler with us), and the neighbors were also very loud through the door. I just figured this is the general quality of the location I booked.

Disappointing Stay – Not at All What We Expected

Our experience at this property was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The photos online were completely misleading and did not reflect the actual condition or appearance of the hotel. Shockingly, we received an email after paying for our reservation stating that “hotel images may not represent the actual look of the property.” That should have been our first red flag.

When we arrived, we were confused—it looked more like a run-down apartment complex than a hotel. There was no clear signage, and the exterior was uninviting. We stood at the front for quite a while before anyone came to assist us. There was no opportunity to view the room before checking in. The walkway to our room was in poor shape—scattered debris, dirt, and cobwebs everywhere. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The door to our room was visibly damaged, we later discovered it didn’t close or lock properly, which raised serious safety concerns. We ended up placing a barrier in front of it to keep bugs from getting in. Inside, the room was a mixed bag. The furniture was visibly stained and worn, the carpet was ripped and soiled, and appliances were broken or barely functional. The bathroom was unpleasant—there were stains on the fixtures and debris on the floor, and the entire space had a strong musty odor that never went away. We found and killed a roach in the kitchen area. this stay was far below acceptable standards. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Booked our stay through expedia, check in qas smooth. Opened the door to the room and it smelled like an old bowling alley. Blood stain on the rug. Just a dirty room. Felt like section eight. Spend the extra $100 elsewhere. Not worth risking bed bugs or god knows what else. Was also told after seeing the room expedia said it was not a good enough reason for a refund.

The room was big had a kitchen, couch, fireplace and king size bed. However, the room was not cleanly or up to date. The carpet was dirty, the room had an odor, the couch looked dirty, and the furniture was old and peeling. The kitchen, which was supposed to be stocked with utensils had some, but there were clearly items missing that had not been replaced. The room did not look like the pictures where the furniture looked bright, clean, and newer. It had a lot of potential. I really loved that we had a kitchenette and could cook our own meals there.

Would like to start off by saying, check in lady was wonderful and very helpful, the on call front desk was very sweet. Now the bad no management available by call, no staff at front desk at night. The hotel has several people living in it throughout and across the way several people working telecommunications up all night and roaming the outside. The night we stayed there was a drunk guy shooting fireworks in the empty lot next door and was very agressive and upset all the people living there. The room was unclean and very outdated. Tears in the carpet, stains and any other room they offered me was exactly the same or had some other problem. Eventually my last straw was finding the bugs various types of bugs found throughout and I wasnt going to take any of them home with me so my family left and stayed elsewhere, hotels .com refunded my money as they were not able to get ahold of the hotel for further refunds. It was aweful!

First off we had to wait 2 hours after our scheduled check in time to get our room. Then the room wreaked of cigarette smoke, had not been cleaned, had giant stains all over the carpet, and dead bugs everywhere. My toddler crawled on the floor for 10 minutes and his hands turned black. We called to ask for a different room and they wouldn’t do anything for us. We checked out immediately and went to a hotel right around the corner
While we were moving our stuff out of the room, we ran into a large group of people in town for a family reunion. They reported dirty rooms and spiders everywhere to us, but they decided to stay since they had such a large group

The first room we got smelled strongly of marijuana. Since there is no smoking in any of the rooms, I am perplexed as to why this happened. The staff was annoyed when I told them. Having a serious allergy to it and not wanting my kid around it, this was discouraging. The second room smelled ok, but was dirty. The sofa bed was disgusting. There was stuff spilled on the table that I had to clean up. Overall gross place. Very disappointed. I should get a refund.

My first room I took my shoes off on the carpet and I stepped in something wet... So they gave us another room, in the second room the shower had hair in it and hair all over the bathroom area floor. Yall this place is gross. The couches haven’t been cleaned I don’t think since they been put in those rooms. Cabinets had what seemed coffee grinds all in them, which you think they’d clean the cabinets before next guest. Do not recommend. I felt gross even after cleaning the tub and taking a shower

Although the guy working the front desk was very friendly once he arrived, the lobby was closed when I got there. It was the strangest thing, and also not mentioned on their site or when booking, but apparently the lobby is closed after 10pm. I have been to a lot of hotels, good and bad, but I have never checked into a hotel late and walk into a dark lobby with a sign that says “call this number for emergency” and had to sit and wait in the dark for someone to come check me in. Like I said, the guy was very nice once he came, but it was just so odd.
The rooms were very spacious but didn’t smell great and very dirty. One of our couch cushioned had the whole back peeled off. But the part that made me not stay my second night was the bugs. There was such a bad any problem, huge horse flies flying everywhere and it so smelled terrible it made it hard to sleep.

The one room had an unfinished whole in the ceiling where a fan should be, the carpet was coming up in places, the kitchen floor felt like it wasn’t finished properly, and the room reeked of smoke even thought it was a non smoking room. There was no house keeping which was fine for a short stay. It’s fine if you are young and don’t care , but it is not good for a family.

When we arrived, the lobby was closed and we had to call for someone to \"come down\". A lady showed up in pajamas and said, \"I was just about to lay down\". Very odd.
Also, the room was less than impressive, actually a disaster. Very cheap furniture, no smart TV. Bathroom was disgusting and the shower had a constant drip.

The second after i went to frontdesk to to advise was 77° with women hair on floor amd looked unsafe. I had to go front desk again and cancel,. Horrible experince with multiple issues, property refuses to refund the money.

1. Checked in and notifed no brekfast offered but paid upcharge during booking.
2.Checked into first room all pillow cases stained.
3.Tried checking into second room, the keycard would not work. Cigarette buds all over the entry way hallway.

After all the issue asked front desk for the refund in writing, it was agreed but no email ever sent. Now the property refuses to offer refund.

Poorly maintained rooms with heavy smell of cigarette smoke. Common area littered with cigarette ash. Had to repeated ask for clean towels and bathroom essentials. Breakfast no longer served at this location.

I assumed this was a hotel but was apparently mistaken. We double checked on our accomodations before we left for our all day concert. We knew we woulsnt get back to check in till late and were assured it was ok. When we arrived, all doors were locked and we had to call to get someone to check us in. It was 1am, but our worker wasnt the most pleasant (i probably wouldnt be if i were woken up either.) When we got to our room it smelled like stale cigarettes. It looked lile housekeeping did what they could but the carpets were stained, the walls were dirty, the paint was chipping, and overall felt not great. Our travel partners had a different room that they said was clean and nice so im not sure what happened with our room.

Start with the check in. Very rude! More or less threw the papers to sign on the counter. Handed me the room key and said take care. Now the room!!! Just stay away!!! I opened the door and the smell was horrendous!!! It smelled like something I can't describe...maybe it was the trash piled up outside the room. A mouse or some critter ran across the floor. There were holes in the wall, some kind of bug crawling above the bed. The floor was filthy. It looked as if the floor hadn't been swept or mopped in quite some time. I went back to the front desk and the chipper lady who checked me in greeted me again with.... yea. I laid the key down on the counter and told her I could not stay in a place so filthy. She literally looked at me and said ok. Not what is wrong, or let me get you another room... anything. I asked if I was going to receive my payment back and was told that was at the managers discretion. For two days now when I call the manager is not available and have not received a phone call either. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!!!!!!

We were highly disappointed with this location. Extended stay meant there were a lot of shady characters hanging around and police patrolling. Dogs were barking a lot. Cigarette butts littered the entry to our room. There were burn marks on the couch and the room smelled bad. The window was dirty. I chose this location based on the neighborhood and the rating of 8 but was very disappointed!

Room stunk of cigarettes and had burn marks on the bathroom sink. Overall room was dirty. Staff was not responsive for OVER an hour when I was locked out of my room and my key would not work after I had worked a 12 hour night shift. Stood in the lobby waiting for assistance and called them multiple times and no answer. Expedia couldn’t even get ahold of them. Ended up leaving to check into another nearby hotel. Do not stay here, the good reviews are old and not relevant. Many better options nearby.

First room was filthy and in shambles. It appeared as if someone with a cat had been staying in the room. Furniture was shredded in corners. Fixtures were poorly attached. Water controls for sink and bathroom shower/bath loose: toilet paper roll fell apart. I got the impression that the worst handyman of all time had been employed to patch things up. Requested second room. It too seemed to be handled by the same shoddy maintenance person. What a dump.

My room was absolutely filthy. Brown spots caked on the wall in the bathroom. Smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. Half the lights didn’t work. Cheap bars of soap that if you dropped in the tub, they crumbled. I almost feel as if the health department should be called.

Reconsider before booking

The place has potential with cute common areas and big rooms, but the management is terrible and they have let the place become too run down. Our room smelled like an ashtray and our clothes were completely spoiled as a result of staying in such a smelly room. We had to wash everything including our winter coats as soon as we got home. Management is too lax with the existing guests letting them smoke in common areas and in the rooms. The furniture was badly stained and beat up. The bedding and carpets were badly stained. The person overseeing the property doesn’t adhere to the quality standards that I have experienced at other Sonesta properties. Corporate headquarters needs to pay a visit and invest in deep cleaning, refurbishment of the smoke spoiled rooms and stained furniture. Sonesta needs to invest in property management who enforces the standards expected by corporate. We didn’t have house keeping once during our 4-day stay.

Decent hotel in a great location

Very reasonable hotel. Location was very convenient to restaurants and highways. Room was clean and in good condition except for a few areas, the coffee maker had a moldy filter in it and no one has ever cleaned behind the doors, especially in the bathroom. Except for the coffee maker, the kitchen was very clean and functional. Large comfortable room for a great price. Free, onsite parking was well lit and abundant. This is an Ohio issue and not a hotel issue per se, since the rooms are smoke free, it seems everyone that smokes, smokes pot outside in the areas common to the entries to the rooms so there is no getting away from the smell.

Overall the hotel is good. Sonesta ES is very convenient.
The bed and the kitchen are great.
There are some cons in this hotel:
Different handles in the bathroom are falling off the walls.
Noises from the room above me were easily heard in my room.

Usually, when I stay at Sonesta everything is up to par from the Front Desk at arrival until checkout but this last trip hit a snag. My in-laws were staying in a room as well but the microwave wasn't working. I let the front desk know on Tuesday morning and one was delivered Tuesday night. I spoke to the Manager about the issue and she was rude and said that she didn't know about until Wednesday morning as though it was our fault. I think that when we visit Dublin, Ohio again, I book a different hotel because the Management really lacks tact and has no customer service experience at all.

Functional without any fluff

The hotel has done its best to refresh an older facility and having a full kitchen was amazing. However, during my 6-day stay, my keys stopped working twice and housekeeping never came. The phone in my room did not work and after I told the front desk, no one ever came to assess that. The room was marginally clean, lots of dust and debris in the corners, behind the doors, and along the bed frame. Overall, it met the needs of my stay: full kitchen, comfortable bed, and quiet.

After confirming my reservation 2 hrs prior to my arrival with the front desk at Dublin OH Sonesta, I showed up and they informed me at 830 pm and with it being 5 degrees F outside that I did not have a room for the first night. The front desk person told me that they had given the room to a bigger client and that my confirmation email from Expedia was between me and Expedia, not Sonesta. I spent the night in the back of my car at a Kroger parking lot.

The heater in the room barely worked, there was only 1 thin blanket in Winter in Ohio, the staff had no access to additional blankets and were not willing to problem solve to help until she was told that she could go to an empty room to get us another blanket. We will not be coming back to this property.
