Some furniture was very old. There was a large amount of water leaking into the hallway from the outdoor area in the middle of the building because it was raining at the time, and water marks on the carpet that showed this has happened before. There was only one microwave in the lobby.

My stay at the Hudson was terrible. First at 3:45pm upon checking in staff told me the room was still being cleaned. Upon entering the so called luxury hotel with a patio it was very clear the only luxury part was the entrance. Our room was disgusting. There were greasy handprints on the front door, a screw coming out of the lock, the sink wasn’t cleaned because the top handle was dirty, the night stands were chipped and warped, the paneling by the TV was peeling, the top of the refrigerator was rusted and gross, the back patio we had house keeping never cleaned it. Upon opening the door at some point a party was had because there was marijuana blunts left all over the place, they had a champagne bottle top left, hand warmer wrappers, cigarette butts, and you could see they put out the butts on the table because it was ash burns on the table. Also they charge you an additional $25 per night stay which no one tells you about until after you check in. So on top of the $100 deposit you have that additional charge too. When I went to speak to staff about the room and charges. Staff told me housekeeping does not clean or check the back. They told me they’d have housekeeping clean the next day. That didn’t happen. So I would never recommend the Hudson Yard Hotel to anyone. Awful stay.

The only saving grace of this property was the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and hospitable. They helped me and answered all my questions and that's what gives any positivity to my stay.
The hotel is beat up. It's seen better days. The construction of the bar is clearly on hold indefinitely. The room was....tough. The lamps and end tables were from TJ Maxx. There was no closet, rather a plastic series of tubes that snapped together with a few old hangers in the corner for me to use. The previous tenant was still signed into the spotify account on the TV.
The toilet ran every 15 minutes or so. The paint was peeling on the ceiling. The HVAC vent was in the desk, which made half of the area unusable. The room itself was frigid. I don't know if the windows aren't properly sealed or if they're not double paned, etc. They did nothing to insulate the room and it was not a horrible cold series of days in NYC. I would not stay here again.

The room was not clean, there was underwear left from last person. Tape on the ceiling, mildew in shower. The room they put our stuff in holding before check in had a flood and smelled of mildew. The carpet was soaked the man who helped told us he told management many times about the leak.

The location is very good. AC in the room didn’t work well and the room was cold. Staffs were very nice. The room didn’t have any face towels, so we had to ask to bring them. The bathroom and floor were not clean well. If you just stay to sleep, it’s ok hotel.

This place was a total disgrace. First of all, it was completely false advertised. The place is called “The Hudson Yards” hotel but be advised this motel is no where near Hudson yards in New York City. This “hotel” is part homeless shelter, part motel. Literally. The Hudson Hotel still houses some of New York City’s unhoused asylum seekers. The place was extremely filthy and noisy. Homeless people banging on the other side of our hotel room screaming telling us to “shut up”. The television not working using a stolen Amazon fire stick. But the absolute worst part of it is when we told management about our broken tv in our room. He said he would send an “engineer” up to fix the problem. Thirty minutes later a man shows up to our room. Does not knock on the door. But instead uses a key fob to enter or hotel room unannounced while my wife is naked. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back for us. He laughed and smirked about it. This place was disgraceful. If you want to enjoy a decent stay in New York I would advise you to avoid this place at all cost.

Front desk staff was kind and accommodating. The amenities were nice but some things were broken. The only real issue I had was the cleanliness of the room. I felt I needed slippers because the floors weren’t clean. The sheets were okay but they had a lot of lint of them. Then there were minor things like a spill that wasn’t wiped properly from prior guests. These are easy fixes and I would stay again they are just things to think about going forward.

This hotel is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Everything is broken, from the television remote to the toilet. The sink was also clogged, the soap holder was broken, and the heater sounded like a tractor, which made it hard to sleep at night because it was so loud. Even the elevator was broken. We asked for ice and were told to go down to the lobby to get it. When I got there, they gave us a bag of ice, by the time we got to the room, the ice had melted. There was no room service and no telephone in the room. I would not recommend this hotel.

There is a $25 per night “amenities fee” that they conveniently never mention anywhere. I only found out because my card was randomly charged at 1 a.m. The “amenities” they claim you’re paying for are a joke. Wi-Fi (which Expedia already says is free), a pool table sitting in the lobby, and a water station that was broken the entire time we were there. They also claim you get two complimentary water bottles at check-in, which we never received.

Then there’s the security deposit lie. They advertise a $100 deposit, but they charged us $200 instead. When we confronted them about it, the manager admitted her staff “weren’t supposed to do that” and said they were “untrained” because the hotel is in a transition with ownership. Apparently that’s their excuse for everything. The funny part is if you read the reviews, people have been hearing the exact same “we’re in transition” excuse for over a year. So either they’ve been “transitioning” forever or it’s just their go-to excuse for incompetence. I also still haven’t gotten the deposit back.

The front desk couldn’t explain random charges and got immediately hostile. Over two days, they tried to charge me 13 times—I had to lock my card to stop them. The room is barebones, Wi-Fi is awful, and the shower doesn’t drain. Housekeeping banged on our door at 8 a.m., tried to open it while we were inside, and only showed up once, barely cleaning. Hidden fees, broken amenities, and hostile staff make this place a nightmare. RUN RUN RUN!!!

we arrived early, just wanting to have our bags held until the room was ready.

once our bags were “held” we were told we couldn’t access them”. “once in, once out”. it felt odd. the room wasn’t even locked.

our rooms TV didn’t work. we went to the front desk, asking for batteries for the remote. that didn’t help. we could turn it on but not watch anything.

the astro turfed balcony’s furniture wasn’t as clean as it could have been.

the “bar” wasn’t open, and completly under construction.

We had no WiFi so could not use the tv at all no phone in the room to call front desk then the phone number attached online said was not a working number we had no heat but did have a very small space heater old used towels where balled up under our sink off of first glance it under impression it will be beautiful and then we even found mold around our window dust everywhere and floors where dirty the staff was very kind but due to all of our discomfort we left @11/11/30pm we had only checked in at 4:45/5pm

Hotel experience was horrible from check in Liz the front desk worker was horrible in customer service we requested an early check in and her attitude and delivery on telling us that there was no room available was unprofessional. we left our baggage in storage and walked around for a few hours we called at 1pm and requested to know if there was a room available and was told that there was a $50 fee when we walked back to hotel she was charging us $75 for an hour early check in which didn't make any sense. we asked her why we were getting charge more money for less time and she didn't understand us at all, we finally checked in and the room was not what we expected it the floors were dirty and run down. the hot water did took forever to warm up. the heater sounded like a broken car we did not sleep at all with the loud sound of the heater turning on and off. we only got 2 dingy pillows. I WILL NOT BE STAYING THERE EVER AGAIN!!!! The pool table was missing balls, the pool sticks were worn down. For being a "boutique" hotel they really need to fix alot of things. The bathroom in the lobby area was disgusting I had to clean the toliet seat to be able to use bathroom. I am really disappointed having to spend my hard earned money on a horrible place.

The staff was great. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and polite. The room upon our arrival was dirty. The beds were made but when I dropped something on the floor and went to pick it up I noticed clothing tags and a bottle of water under the bed as well as huge globs of hair and dirt. So sweeping was not a thing that went on in this room. The bathroom door was stuck open and we had to wait for someone to come and fix it so we could use the bathroom. This was a work trip so while we were sharing a room we weren’t quite at the “pee with the door open” level. There was a “coat rack” that was all falling apart. It was one of the ones with plastic tubes and joints. I was able to put it back together to use but that should have been done prior to a new guest checking in. Over all it sufficed for our trip but I wish more care was taken in getting the room ready for a new guest.

The Hudson Yards “Hotel” is not a hotel! It’s a Motel!! The staff was very kind and professional. The rooms felt sleazy, even though I was safe it didn’t feel safe. The room itself has a faint bathroom smell. The furniture is old and beat up. The bathroom was nice and modern. There are no hotel phones or microwaves in the room. If you have to call front desk you have to use your own cell phone. I’m so glad I ended up checking out the night before an unexpected blizzard and getting a new hotel (that was way nicer with all the standard hotel amenities, on the 46th floor for even less money per night than the Hudson yards.

Personally, wouldn’t go back to this hotel. It’s located pretty centrally, but major amenities are missing.
The hotel itself has paper and walls. You can hear the people in the next room. Basic things are missing like a glass in the washroom television in the room, and also an alarm clock.
Overall would not go back, found it very noisy and loud rooms were cold due to the layout of the rooms if you’re going in winter and the heating system is not good. It’s very loud ended up closing it during the night cause I couldn’t sleep.

We were very disappointed. My husband and I had planned a trip to New York on February 14th and paid a lot of money for the room. The room was dirty, there were blood stains in the bathroom, food scraps in the refrigerator, and the TV didn't work.
Our room was right next to an unsealed exit to the street, and it was 60 degrees. There was only a sheet on the bed, no blanket, no comforter, and not a full set of pillows. One set of towels. The heater was fixed and we were given a blanket. But the hotel remains disappointing. No coffee in the room or in the lobby. And nothing but a bottle of water. And additional $25 per night.

The heat was broken. We were supplied a tiny space heater that barely worked and no additional blankets. On a positive side, the room was a really good size compared to what you typically get in a NYC hotel. Luggage storage was available and we took advantage of that.

Room was very dirty, and you can tell very little effort was put into cleaning or maintenance. Very little attention to detail. There were only 3 pillows on a king size bed, Only a couple of hangers (There was no dresser), no duvet cover-it was just sandwitched between two flat sheets, no shower door so water got everywhere, previous guest's food left in fridge, peeling wallpaper, It felt like they were a brand new hotel and weren't ready to be open. This would be an OK place to stay for cheap for a night or two but for 11 days I ended up needing to purchase a lot for my trip and did a lot of my own cleaning.

There wasn't any glass or cups in the room. There is nowhere to charge your devices except in the restroom, which I think is horrible. The room is very basic for the price. The location was great, and the staff was friendly. I wouldn't come again because the room is very outdated. It felt like I was in a motel—lovely building, but not the rooms.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. At least four other times this year and aware this is not a five star hotel. It is what it is but his time....I was/am not happy.

The heat in the room did not work. when I told the front desk there was no offer of a room change or apology. I was handed a large card board box with a space heater. I asked for it to be brought to my room and set up while I go to dinner and I was told they don't have someone to do that. I asked for it to at least be unwrapped. The TV did not work at all and the shades in the room were broken and would not go up. When I checked out I reminded them of the no heat and it was met with ambivalence.

I was staying in this location because my son was performing nearby the night before and the next morning. We couldn’t even shower because we were only able to get cold water! This may be because the room itself was sort of outside like a motel not a hotel. There was water damage on Carpet outside the room and warped vanity from water damage. Didi at the front desk was great and said she would speak to manager to have room fees refunded
