Hotel in great location. close to metro. For an American hotel breakfast , quality and choices were 7/10 for being an included in the price breakfast 10/10! Staff was friendly everything was clean. only issue was the shower water. Only choices were scalding hot or freezing. We learned to work around it.

I never leave bad reviews, but I'm pretty sure I was bitten by bed bugs the night I stayed here last week. The room seemed spotless, the linens fresh, but it did smell musty. I chalked it up to old carpet at the time. I woke up a few days later at home with bed bug bites on my neck, which I could not understand because we checked, and we do not have any bed bugs, until the doctor told me the welts often show up 3-4 days after the bite, especially if you've never been bitten before. I developed an allergic reaction and the bites caused a case of lymphangitis--an infection of my lymph nodes--that's been very scary and I'm still under treatment for. I've tried to find a direct email for the hotel to let them know and see what they'll do, but of course all I can find is a 1 800 number for Hyatt of North America. Room 523--avoid. If this hadn't happened, I would have left a good review. The location is great, it's nice to have free breakfast even though it was absolutely mobbed, and the room and bed itself were comfortable. Meanwhile, I'm on several antibiotics, ill, and being monitored for sepsis due to the bites and resulting infection.

Location was great. But honestly I would not stay here again. I booked a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed had a paper thin mattress. Super uncomfortable. I ended up putting the mattress on the floor in order to get some sleep. Our room was next to the stairs, too much noise. We got a connecting room and the people next to us made so much noise. The bedroom was extremely small, barely any room to walk and the bathroom same thing. Not happy at all. Not recommended

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Place New York. My daughter was in search for her wedding ceremony and reception gown and we had a day and a half to meet with designers and fly home. Hyatt Place was very accommodating with our luggage while we traveled to bridal shops and even made sure I was able to get a cup of hot water and tea after their kitchen closed for breakfast. Italo was very helpful in assisting with our luggage and transportation to the airport while also offering helpful suggestions.. Everyone went over and beyond their duty to make sure the hotel was clean and tidy throughout the day and to ensure we were taken care of. We felt very special. Thank you again Hyatt Place for such a welcoming stay. Your staff was awesome!

I appreciated that breakfast was included but that was probably about it. The bed was uncomfortable. The pull-out couch was uncomfortable. The pillows sucked. The room was SO tiny and we had three people staying in the room. We each had at least two suitcases and a carry-on, so there was absolutely no room to stand anywhere. Also, my friend walked downstairs to request more toilet paper and was told that someone would bring it up to our room in 20 minutes. It never came. The next day, she asked again and someone from the front desk gave it to her immediately. On my next trip to New York, I don't plan on staying here.

Our room was on the smaller side, but it’s NYC you aren’t in your room much during the day! It was very clean, and the staff was very helpful and very friendly. The location of this hotel was great for what we were there for. We felt safe at all times. Lots to do in Hell’s Kitchen!

The hotel was very clean, as was our room. My husband appreciated how helpful the staff was. The location was convenient, and it was pretty quiet. Cons for me: I understand it's NYC, but it cost $8 for a bottle of apple juice, and $6 for a bottle of water from the little grab and go area. The bathroom is small and tight. The door got stuck several times. 2 of my kids couldn't get out and then I couldn't get out. If someone is claustrophobic, that's going to cause a problem. Breakfast time is crazy. It was around 7:30/7:45 when we went, and we couldn't find a place to sit. Selection was ok. I wish ther was another meat option for those who don't like turkey bacon.

While the rooms are extremely small, the staff is very helpful, and the breakfast substantial and a great asset. I have not received a receipt for the payments made or for the $100.00 contingencies added to my charge, which was supposed to be refundable on checkout. Also, on one of the days of our stay, we were without any water, and the hotel had assured us that we would get a discount for each of our three rooms. How do I get that?

If for no other reason, book this for the amazing breakfast! Truly everything you could want- eggs, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, cereal, oatmeal etc! It’s walking distance to Times Square, it takes about 15 minutes to get to central Times Square. The bed and pillows were comfy, we were on the 16th floor and our room was so quiet. Ample elevators, 4 and they move fast. We especially liked the location for walking back from Broadway shows at night. I’m a female traveling with my 2 kids and I felt safe.

Our room didn’t have much walking space and the beds are pretty much wall to wall so if you are a family of 4 it might feel really tight. The doors are extremely loud when opening/closing and the walls are very thin so pack earplugs. The room was cleaned everyday and the food was decent but the fruit was frozen, the boiled eggs are also frozen and very little staff to clean the tables.

Stayed 5 nights here at this Garnent District hotel, it was clean and convenient for 15 minute or less walk to most Broadway theater shows. We were a family of 4, room with 2 double beds, packed light with carryon size luggage, it’s snug. Booked less than 2 months out, very hard to find rooms with 2 queen beds during spring break time: It does include a hot breakfast, which is rare in NYC. 4 elevators for the hotel, very busy in the morning rush, add in extra time for that.
No umbrellas to borrow (for purchase only) for a rainy day, so be prepared. One late night there was no cold water, 11:30pm to 12:30am, then for a few hours there was no water at all, couldn’t flush the toilet. Called front desk multiple times, no pick up. If maintenance, there should be a warning letter for guests or warnings posted in elevators. Things do happen but quite inconvenient and poor service that nobody answered the Front Desk phone when I called a few times that night.

It met our needs. Very small room and check in took hours after the 3:00 check in time but it was nice we could drop our luggage there in the morning. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Pretty good breakfast in the morning. Hard to find a working ice and water machine anywhere and $6.99 for a cheapy bottle of water to buy. Location was good and walkable to most NYC things. Basic, sufficient.

This hotel is ok if you are on a budget and willing to put up with the absolute basics. Paper plates and plastic spoons/knives/forks for breakfast is below what I would consider a minimum standard of presentation though.

We had a leak in the roof of our bathroom and could hear the creak of something in the corridor all night long. Hotel was just somewhere to sleep though so did the job.

What we thought we were going to get in terms of rooms that we booked through Expedia was disappointing. What was advertised was not delivered at the price we paid. However, 2 staff members at the front desk) ( Lorena and Michelle) worked tirelessly to provide us with a room that matched our booking after 3 of our 5 nights. They also made a big deal of the special occasions being celebrated- anniversary and birthday)
Breakfast was ok and filled the tummy. The elevators were not a problem as raised in other reviews. The beds were comfortable and the bed linen was lovely.
We would come back but book through the hotel to guarantee the room request.

I recently stayed at Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square and overall, the experience was not terrible, but there were several frustrating issues.

The rooms were much smaller than expected, and the hallways were extremely narrow—you can hear almost everything from neighboring rooms, which made it hard to relax. The lobby was another major downside. It had a strong unpleasant smell at all times of the day and was constantly crowded, often with 20+ people sitting around, making it feel chaotic and overwhelming.

The elevators were also a big inconvenience. They were very slow and almost always occupied by large groups, so we often had to use the stairs to go up or down (even to the third floor). The elevator system itself is confusing—you press a button, but you’re never quite sure which elevator will arrive or when.

Check-in was especially frustrating. We were told that an adult (21+) needed to check in a 19-year-old guest at 3 PM. However, when the 19-year-old returned to check in, staff then said the adult had to be physically present again. By that point, the adult had already left and couldn’t return for several hours. After traveling for three hours, this back-and-forth was exhausting and poorly handled.

Overall, the hotel isn’t terrible, but it feels crowded, disorganized, and not very accommodating. It reminded me more of a budget hotel experience than what I expected.

The room was very small. The sink in the bathroom couldn’t hold any toiletries. There was no walking room in the room itself. The thermostats are only able to go to 68 and no lower. So 2 of our nights it was humid and muggy in the room. Lastly, the pictures are not a true representation of the property or rooms. For the same price there are much better options!

Location! Location! Location! This hotel is very conveniently located in midtown. The room was a good size considering we were in NYC. The breakfast was awesome. It was relatively quiet at night and the bed was comfortable. Check in was easy and we put the Do Not Disturb tag on the door avoiding housekeeping. It was an excellent value for the cost. I would stay there again.
