Stayed here during a convention for wellness + beauty I had to attend at the Javits Center which was close and a few blocks from the hotel and also close to the Penn Station. Hotel had a nice vibe, staff were nice and accommodating but it does feel a little outdated. The room we got was small, showerhead was super strong, furniture was outdated, but overall the view was beautiful. It wasn’t terrible but also not a five star hotel so keep that in mind. I might stay here again just because it’s close to everything I need to get to.

tons of shops, about 10 min walk to Times Square. the vending machines don’t give water though as advertised, it kept producing brisk tea. bathrooms weren’t super clean. also the men in the lobbies kept asking for a room key but we noticed other guests of different races got to walk through no issues

Staff was very respectful, the hotel reminds me of a vintage apartment. Clean, area very convenient and close to fine dining restaurants, shopping centers and transportation. Nearby to times square as well. Plus 3 restaurants are within hotel premises highly recommend.

We had an stress-free stay at The New Yorker during a non-rush period. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city near Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, and a short walk to Times Square. It is an ideal spot for walking to major attractions or catching a subway anywhere in the city.

Our room was consistently cleaned on a daily basis, and the housekeeping staff did a good job. The reception desk staff were friendly, professional, and attentive to any concerns we had. However, be aware that the hotel is \"old school\" and you have to pay for basic amenities, including a fee to store bags after checkout. Despite this, the convenience and safety, especially with security at the elevators, make it a great option.

Managers Samira and David were outstanding in every capacity. As were the rest of the staff. They took care of us if any issue arose and they made us feel cared for. Get a view room. It’s worth it. I would say that there is a noticeable difference in quality from room to room but nothing detrimental, just maybe spring for a nicer room. Great housekeepers.

We got a beautiful view out of our windows. The hotel has some rich history which is intriguing but that also comes with it being a little dated.

The location was convenient because it was close to Penn Station. However, the room condition and facilities inside of the room were not good, especially the bathroom. Even though I booked the executive room, it was not what I expected. I highly recommended not include breakfast for extra fees because the choices were limited (not a buffet style).

The room was an upgrade but it was about the same as what I had before except with a view in the 37th floor. The Tic Tok Lounge was great - all breakfasts and one dinner there. The concierge was excellent fir advice and support. Security was excellent. Never used the fitness area although I got charged a resort fee? No pool so why a resort fee? I love the location near Amtrak station and easy to get to many locations in NYC.

Fairly priced and a great hotel within walking distance from some of the best NY has to offer. Check-in was a breeze. Stayed in 2951. The room was a bit small and the view was trash but nonetheless it was clean and the beds were comfy. Overall, I'd revisit this hotel for sure.

I stayed here with my family and it was good experience. The rooms are small, but we didn't spend much time in ours. The bathrooms are outdated and we did not have a counter top in the bathroom, so for ladies that need space for doing their make-up and hair, it's difficult. I just ended up using the large mirror near the TV. There was also a draft from the windows so it was a bit cool in the room, but it's an older hotel so that's fine. However the room we were in was facing the police station, so some nights it was loud. Overall though, we had a great visit would stay here again.

Lilia Rios did an exceptional job on cleaning our room we were very happy how she left everything each day. My wife and I had a wonderful experience our first time in New York and we will definitely stay here again

I thought I was suppose to have a room with a view, but that was a lie and I payed more for that. My room was very tiny. The closet and bathroom door was hard to close. No hot water in the shower or sink. It took 10 minutes to get hot water. No instructions of where to find the ice machine. The tv are ancient and should be upgraded to have the ability to cromcast to watch an app. The internet was terrible. Never worked properly. I had to use my data.

Overall, I’d say the best part about this hotel is the location and proximity to public transportation. That’s a huge plus if you plan on traveling all over the city. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself staying here again unless the price happens to be an amazing deal. I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. The bathroom, specifically the bathtub, was gross. Again, it wasn’t the worst place to stay but I expected better after reading everyone else’s reviews. Maybe I went on a bad week, I don’t know.

At the front desk, Mohammed helped us out by upgrading our room for my birthday and getting us into a room right when we arrived at the hotel. We didn’t have to wait till 4pm for check in or anything and it took so much stress off my shoulders and made our trip such an amazing stay! All of the staff was wonderful and I would highly recommend staying at The New Yorker. It’s a great central location.

The staff was super nice especially the lady who cleaned our room. As far as customer service goes, I am disappointed.

For check in, there was a lot of staff standing around not helping the check in wait at the counter. There was only one person checking in more than 6 groups of families. After 10 minutes, someone finally made a second line. As I was standing in line, I overheard the guy next to me get the wrong beds when his reservation said to get a King. The guy at the front desk told him he couldn't accomodate him because it was a 3rd party reservation and the staff couldn't do anything about it. I made a reservation through Expedia and also got the wrong bed size and decided to let it go because I didn't want to wait in a long line for the staff to say they can't do anything about it. We should have gotten reimbursed for their mistake on THEIR end of the reservation.

Otherwise, everything else was fine. Location was perfect and it was quiet other than hearing toilets flush.

Charming art deco property with in-house diner and Italian restaurant. Very close to Moynihan Train Hall.

We experienced a very long wait for check in. Unsure if this is typically the case at 9:30 PM on a Saturday, but only 2 agents were staffing the desk and a third eventually came out to chat up the line of nearly 15 parties. He was very friendly.

We stayed during an incredibly cold weekend, so the room's draftiness likely couldn't be helped due to the age of the building. Even with the heat turned to high, there was still a breeze at the windows.

Our suite was clean and spacious for NYC. The housekeeping staff we encountered were all friendly and accommodating.

Would likely stay again, if the weather is better, due to location and price.

The staff was so wonderful, Linda at the desk could not have been nicer and more welcoming. Rooms are big for NYC and we got a great view of the Empire State Building. It's not a brand new hotel so you don't have cutting edge amenities, but everything worked and was clean. Having a good diner accessible from the lobby was a great bonus.

The room was fine, small but did the job. However, it was so cold outside and the room was absolutely freezing unless the heat was blasting. The bathroom had no heat if the door was closed. Air was coming through the windows and the comforter on the bed was flimsy, not retaining enough heat to keep us warm at night.

The heat was off in my room when I arrived! It took 2 days to heat up and then the heat kept turning off. I went to the front desk several times to complain. I was overcharged for the hold on my credit card for extras and that was finally corrected on day 3. I was not offered any kind of credit. Very disappointing and not as good as last year when Wyndham was the owner of the Hotel! The location is great and that’s about it at the moment!

The hotel is recently purchased by Lotte,but already has a long history. Unfortunately with that history comes old drafty windows and few electrical outlets The building is beautiful; our room, while a bit small for two double beds, would have been comfortably sized for a single queen.
We visited during a deep freeze, temperatures were in the single digits to teens. Our room thermostat was set to 74, but the heating was not keeping up with the cold permeating from our windows. Thankfully the hotel staff (thank you, José!) were incredibly responsive. We requested and received extra down blankets within 10 minutes of notifying the hotel of our cold situation, and they sent up the hotel engineer within the hour to work on the thermostat; our room was nice and cozy after that, easily keeping up with the draft.

The only thing that peeved me was the $5 charge per bag if you wanted the hotel to store luggage before check-in or after check-out. I would think that, as a guest, luggage storage would be free; we're already paying for the room! If you wanted to check in early, they charge another $75, which I also found silly. If the room is ready, then let the guest in!

So, overall:
Old building does not do well with extreme cold, the hotel charges for silly things, but hotel staff were great.

We didn’t have a great stay at this hotel. Despite being a 4 star hotel, this feels more of like a 2 star. The service from the staff was practically nonexistent and not friendly at all.

The worst part really was how dirty our room was. There was black markings and dirt all over the bathroom walls and rust everywhere. We would never stay here again. Completely filthy!

I was there in February and my room was very cold. I spoke to Mohammad at the front desk, and he gave me an upgraded room with no charge. The location is really great.The Housekeeping staff and folks in the Tic-Tok restaurant are also nice.

There are some concierge-types that just greet you by the elevators, and some who ask to see your key cards to get on the elevator. I found that confusing and it made me feel not special. They charged me $10 to check my bags for an hour. The revolving door broke for a little while and it made the lobby awkward due to the cold.
