I would like to thank the staff and management of the Oban Inn. We had the most wonderful three nights. The hotel was incredibly clean and well decorated, the room was spacious, the dining area was charming and served delicious food, the hot spring and pool were so relaxing and well maintained. I’m don’t think I can express how much I enjoyed our time there. NOTL is the most charming town and the Canadians could not have been kinder. I would recommend the Oban Inn to anyone interested in a lovely get away. We did not use the spa facilities on this visit but I hope to use them when I return next summer.

Overall my partner and I had a wonderful couple days at the Oban Inn. The building is beautiful and while our room was small, it was tastefully decorated and comfortable. We especially loved the peaceful pool/hot tub area and all the flowers on the grounds, and my partner very much enjoyed her reflexology session at the spa. The location was excellent- across the street from the lake and a very short walk to Queen Street.
A few things that could otherwise have brought my rating up to a 5 : 1) The bathroom amenities were lacking - no body lotion, no bars of soap and very poor quality shampoo/conditioner/body wash. This was especially surprising for what is otherwise an impressive boutique spa & inn. 2) The mini fridge is nice to have but it is very mini and located on the floor, requiring us to sit on our knees to reach in - adding a cabinet or table for this would make it easy to access and add some class. 3) Cleaning was OK overall but there was a collection of dust bunnies in one of our pot lights. We also had to wait until after 2pm for room cleaning despite having the \"please service\" sign on our door before 9am.
Despite the shortcomings, our experience overall was very positive and we would definitely consider Oban again for our next NOTL getaway!

I cannot say enough about the beautiful inn! The gardens are absolutely exquisite! Beautiful pool and hot tub area, lovely room and walkable to the river, and the lovely historic downtown area. Our room was so nice s as nd well appointed. We loved the private little balcony! 10 out of 10!

We have stayed at the Oban for many years. Our room was small but clean. Pillows need a review as huge and not easy to sleep on. The front gardens beautiful. One staff member very sweet. Overall okay. Location is great and golf club although patio closed is lovely. Despite poor weather we enjoyed.

The location is ideal and within a short walk, just a few minutes,to shopping, restaurants, a park and across the street from the lake. Free parking with ample places. The room is not large but fine for a few nights. The grounds are well maintained. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly and responsive. We only had breakfast one morning there but they only had one staff person serving the entire dining room. She was excellent but run off her feet. We waited about 40 minutes for our breakfast which was unexpected.

The property around the Oban is beautiful. When we were there, they were working on upgrades to the outdoor swimming pool. It looked like it was going to be a wonderful outdoor space when it was finished. The front desk staff was extremely helpful. Our room was lovely and spacious. The Oban it’s located at the end of the street near water and is very quiet as a result. It was only a 10 minute walk to theatres, restaurants, and shops. The Oban is definitely a wonderful oasis. We had a great experience there and can highly recommend it.

Clean room and bed was comfortable. I did not have control over temperature settings and 74 degrees F was warm for sleeping. Beautiful setting and building. Spa and steam room were very nice. Elevator was in need of repairs and was out of service. Trim in rooms chipped needing repair and painting. Roof of this lovely building is not being maintained. Restaurants were not open for lunch and dinner. Bar was closed. overall this place has a lot going for it but it doesn’t appear to be kept up; maybe that is why it has one of the best prices in town.

The Oban Inn is a lovely hotel ideally located in the downtown area of off Niagara on the Lake. It is a short walk to the shops and dining options. The rooms are not large, but very cozy and clean. The dinning room has a wonderful ambiance. The breakfast is good, not cheap but competitive with similar hotels.
The fitness centre is small but very adequate. We have only stayed in the cooler months so cannot comment on the pool. Being an older building the sound insulation is not the best with plumbing noises from adjacent rooms and some footstep noise from the rooms above. However, all was quiet for a good nights sleep.

Check in staff was cool… not especially welcoming. We had been recommended the hotel from friends who had previously stayed here. It was a little disappointing. We went to the bar after dinner ( dinner was off site) intending to have a nightcap but the gas fireplace was off and nothing seemed very inviting about the space so we just went to our room instead. At 8:40 pm in December the space could have been animated but sadly wasn’t.

We stayed at the Oban Inn for the first time, mid-week. The deluxe king room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not eat at the restaurant as the prices were quite high and other local restaurants offered better value.
Our only issue was the hotel was doing some renovations during our stay beside our room and so hammering at 9am without any notice wasn't appreciated.

The welcome was instantly off-putting. The front desk attendant's first response after I gave my name was to announce, \"You booked under Expedia, so you don't get breakfast included.\" It doesn't matter that I wasn't expecting breakfast—it's the tone that matters. We were made to feel like second-class citizens before we even dropped our bags, which, by the way, we had to carry ourselves, as there were no luggage carts anywhere.
Also, not a word of welcome! or happy birthday! Just weird as I had told them over phone and email why we were visiting.

The room itself was nice (and clean), but that's where the praise ends. At 4:45 AM, we were treated to hours of loud noise from the room directly above us. When we complained upon check-out, the staff offered a supremely unhelpful, non-committal apology: \"Sorry to hear that, it was not us, it must have been the room guest above.\" In other words, our problem, not theirs.
The Bottom Line
Booking: If you want to be treated like a paying guest, book directly through their website.
Soundproofing: Be prepared for zero sound insulation.
In previous visits to NOTL, we ate at the restaurant and it was very good. So, maybe just go for dinner and book your room somewhere that values all its guests equally.

We LOVED our stay at the Oban Inn! The staff was super friendly and very helpful... even lending me a charger when I didn't have the plug in part to mine. Do take a whole charger and not just the cable as their lamps don't have that option. I just can't say enough about how awesome the staff was. This property is right by Lake Ontario and has amazing views and a brief walk to the lake. I have already recommended this place to multiple people and can't wait to visit again.

Lovely hotel in great location
We stayed here for 1 night in a balcony room. The room was of the traditional style and quite small however the balcony was a nice addition. There was ample parking and beautiful gardens. The staff were excellent. We didn't try the restaurant.

The Oban Inn is charming. A quiet getaway from the hussel and bussel of the downtown and yet an easy walk from all the action.
