The staff is incredible, accommodating and so helpful! Dani was THE BEST! It’s an old historic inn with all the quirks and charm. Not ADA so skip if you can’t do stairs. Great restaurant and bar downstairs. Able to walk to almost everything we wanted to do. You can hear the bar downstairs but they have ear plugs and sound machines. We just embraced it and joined them!

Olde Angel Inn is in a terrific location in the walkable part of Niagara on the Lake. The problem is that the rooms are over the bar and on Fridays and Saturday nights there is live music downstairs from 9:30 pm until 12:30 am complete with loud percussion and persistent bass. We reserved on Expedia and we're not told about this for-us defect. If you reserve directly at the site they supposedly tell you about this. We lucked out and the band did not show up on Saturday night but Friday night was bad enough.

When we showed up they did not have a room for us, they were “double booked”. They said it was the second time that happened that day. Location is great but I’d recommend calling the hotel directly instead of booking through an app if you want to stay here. Staff was helpful in trying to find a room somewhere else, however it was far from the main road where we wanted so had to walk with our bags to find a walk in room elsewhere. Now we will have to fight with Expedia to try and get a refund for the room we bought and paid for at time of booking, a room we could not use.

Not going to lie but we were disappointed with our stay at this pub/hotel. It’s quite run down as a whole and doesn’t reflect the web site image. It has definitely seen better days. It was an expensive with little to offer. No parking, no breakfast, no tea/coffee in rooms. I say this like this because the brochure in the room read like No No No. It did not make us feel very welcome. Even when you sign in you have to sign a form to promise not to steal the towels and pillows. A note to anyone booking over the weekend the band really is VERY loud and it does play until 12:30am. On walking around Niagara on the Lake we saw many better options. We will not be recommending or returning.

The property was old and beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. We did find out when we got there that there was going to be a live band in the downstairs restaurant - the restaurant occupies the whole main floor with the hotel rooms located on the second floor. They had ear plugs and sound machines, but the bass was louder. This went on until 1am! I gave the Olde Angel Inn 5 stars because it was a lovely, convenient spot to stay. I give Expedia 1 star for not including this bit of information that is provided by the hotel.

There is bar with very loud music which didn't let us sleep until 1am. The floor in our room was shaking and furniture was jumping.
My wife and I came to the hotel after the show at 10pm and were shocked. We tried to find a room in other hotels but we couldn't.
I'm 70 and never had such a terrible night in my life.

This is a historic old building, but there are a few things that could be done to make the room more comfortable. Things like installing a few outlets, bedside tables, a spot for suitcases, a TV in the sleeping area. Nothing major, but these things would have made the stay more comfortable/enjoyable. Also, letting guests know there is the potential from noise from the pub downstairs when there is a band would be helpful for some guests (didn't bother us, but might some).

The negatives - front desk support left the minute we checked in, overpriced for the amenities, couldn't even get a coffee in the room or pub, tiny bathroom, and rock band played LOUDLY into the night ... thought they were in the room with us it was SO LOUD. Beds are double not queen sized as advertised. Bathroom sink faucet needs to be tightened (flops over to the basin). Towel racks and toilet paper holder need to be secured as well. Kitchen table very sticky even when wiped! Otherwise we love the Swayze Cottage.

Needs more electrical outlets, inconvenient for people with cpap machines. Rooms are above a noisy bar/tavern open until 1 am. Receptionist answered phone, and instead of putting that call on hold , made us wait until she was done with that call. No elevator if you have a problem with stairs.

Liked the old wood beams & flooring. Friendly staff. Stayed in the Captain’s Room which we knew is above the bar and could be noisy. We slept okay with the A/C white noise & ear plugs. But we’re surprised how loud the bar was even on a night without a band playing. Bathroom seemed newly renovated. Bed was comfortable. Food in the old English style pub on the main floor was delicious (fish & chips and a seafood pie). We ate out in the patio area. Great location. Close to shopping, restaurants and a 10 min. walk to Shaw Festival venues. Would recommend this hotel, just maybe not the Captain’s room if you’re a light sleeper.

The staff was amazing and it was a comfortable stay. No parking on the property, but you can park for free on one of the side streets. Just ask staff where that is and they will guide you. We did not know that there wasn’t housekeeping services, but when you ask they will provide you with anything you need (towels, etc). The food downstairs is excellent and we highly recommend. We sat outside in the patio which was so nice and relaxing.
We enjoyed our stay very much and it’s so walkable to everything NOTL has to offer.

The Olde Angel Inn is a fun place to stay if you like accommodations with character. The Governor's Room was big enough for the three of us and has extremely comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom is a little tight, but totally functional. The location is unbeatable, and the pub has good food and great service. Yes, it gets loud (it's a 200 year old building, so very little insulation), but with the AC going it's possible to ignore it. It's the perfect stay for an adventurous traveler who appreciates history and character.

Honestly, our stay was a bit disappointing. The rooms are incredibly small, the air conditioner is so noisy that we decided to open the windows instead, but had to prop them open with a garbage can because they kept closing. Overall things just feel a bit tired and old.However, the staff were very friendly, and the pub is a blast.

Our original room was above the bar on a Friday night when a band was playing. We were given ear plugs and noise canceling machines. This was a nice gesture, but would not have been very effective. With much empathy from the staff, we were moved to the one remaining available accommodation i.e. the entire quiet, spacious and comfortable 2 bedroom cottage next to the inn. It proved to be just the right solution. The staff's willingness to help is a deciding factor to recommend the Inn to others and choose it upon our return.

It's situated right inbthe middle of town with lots of shops within walking distance. There was very little need to interact with the staff aside from checking in which was convenient and the rooms were clean and tidy. It's nothing fancy but it meets your needs for a short stay. However during the summer there was live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights that went until 1230am which was very loud if you were in your room so if you are someone who is early to bed, be ready.

Do not stay here. We had to leave at 11:00 pm and book another hotel room. There was so much noise, the room was vibrating and it was like a rock concert was happening in the bedroom. There were no staff working at the desk, and no one answered the phone, so no staff to talk to. Expedia support was also terrible customer service. They were no help and hung up on me when I tried to call.

They have a live band in the pub and if you’re early to bed, this may not be for you, you definitely can hear them. The hotel did warn us about this though right after we booked, so we were prepared and actually enjoyed the music, but it may not be for everyone.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Olde Angel Inn and would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of everything! We were able to walk to restaurants, shops, and major attractions, which made our trip so much more enjoyable and stress-free.

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about our comfort. They offered great local recommendations and were quick to assist with anything we needed.

We unfortunately didn’t have an experiences with the ghost but it was still amazing!

This property advertises itself as the oldest inn in Ontario and the pub/ restaurant as the best pub food in Canada. We expected a charming old historic building meeting the standard in its advertising. The carpet on the stairs is soiled and grimy. Not all of the lights in the room function properly. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was not freshened/cleaned after the first night. Our room was over the pub, On the second night a rock band played very loud music from around 8 pm to midnight. After that, noisy drunken people hooted and hollered outside our window for at least half an hour after the band quit.My wife and I needed to leave promptly in the morning so we had little sleep. There was no-one on the front desk to complain to. I now know why we had to pay the full bill on our arrival. I will never frequent this dump again-Ted Smith Mississauga

This is an excellent choice if you want to stay in a part of history in an excellent location. The rooms are unique and well decorated. No parking on site but tips are given at check in on where you can park for free or there is metered parking outside, which we chose. Food in the pub is recommended, staff friendly and overall a great spot to hang out. Not recommended on a busy night if you want an early night, but I would recommended soaking up the atmosphere.

We had 18 of us stay in the rooms and houses to celebrate my husband's birthday. The place was laid out great. The porch on the house was a perfect spot to gather and hang out. The bar and restaurant made drinking and eating super easy. The location was very walkable to everything. We had a great time! Please be aware of the following: one of the cottages did not have air conditioning, and the bartender double-charged a few of us for rounds of drinks. Therefore, be mindful of paying attention to who is paying for what. A huge shout-out to our lovely, efficient, patient, and friendly waitress, Jen, who we had for numerous meals. She was awesome!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The town is beautiful.

The room (Sweetheart) we booked is the smallest one in the hotel so first impression is that it's a bit cramped. However, with the AC on, it's felt fresh when we came into the room. One of the windows faced COWS ice cream store (which prompted us to get ice cream right after check-in). The other window's curtain had to be kept close, otherwise the birds kept hitting it from outside (not sure why). The bed is quite comfortable. The bathroom is a bit tight. It's very lively at night (live music and people chats from the pub below), the floor vibrated and our ice bucket rattled along with the rhythm and I couldn't stop laughing. Reminded us of our college days.The music's pretty good, only one fast song that slightly bothered us (felt like our hearts racing). Overall, we love the unique experience!

No parking available on site. Nearby lot charges way too much. The Sweethearts Room was directly over the bar where the live band plays until past 1am, making it very loud in the room. It was very dark in the room and only a small mirror in the bathroom.
Otherwise, extremely clean and the staff was very pleasant. The historical charm and character outweighs anything negative though.

Overall nice stay and location, but you are essentially just paying for the location - very average otherwise and what you are getting from the hotel itself is not reflective of the price. Clean room, small, queen sized bed. Music/bar is very loud in the evening, especially in the sweetheart suite where you’re directly above the band stage.

No parking available!!! Only possibility is paid parking, including a lot across the street that rips off patrons. There really needs to be a solution for this.

Price is too expensive for the quality and experience you’re getting. Only plus is the convenience of location

We love these rooms, as they are so quaint with historical items. My sister and I shared the General's Quarters which had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a living room area. Everything was very clean. We could hear music and voices from the dining room, but we were aware of that before booking. It was within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, and only 15 minutes walk to the Festival Theater. Thus, we were able to park our car for 3 days and walk everywhere. The restaurant downstairs has awesone food and all staff are amazing, friendly and helpful.

Live band is directly below the Sweetheart's Room, which we loved because we are night owls! Cool old haunted building, lots of stairs. Shower is difficult to operate. Prob not the best spot for early birds or those with mobility issues. Perfect for us and we will be back!

My wife and I have been wanting to stay a night here since our first dinner at the pub for our 10th wedding anniversary 13yrs ago. We have been vising NotL every year since then (except for, well you know) and since our recent night stay, we're now spoiled. It was such a great room to spend the night in after a long day shopping, sight seeing, some live music, a few drinks at the pub and not having worry about the drive back home. Everyone and The Olde Angel Inn was so accommodating & friendly. The room was very clean with the bed/pillows being quite comfortable. We can see ourselves staying a few times a year to enjoy all that the area has to offer throughout the seasons.

Loved the Swayze Cottage at the Olde Angel Inn! Quaint, cozy and clean. Two story, 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, big separate dining room, big kitchen but needs brighter lighting at night, with small fridge, stovetop, microwave and all kitchen dishes appliances etc. No freezer.
Gas fireplace, smart TV, small fenced yard area and wrap around covered porch.
Will definitely be back!
