Very attentive and friendly service. Rooms were elegant and had all the amenities we could want, including the \"out-of-the-ordinary\" (need a pet? you could borrow a pet fish for your stay). Great location, classy building, reasonable price, would recommend.

Most notable was friendly ambiance with fresh flowers, staff greetings and a cozy nook with coffee. There is a restaurant right on site but many others in walking distance. The club room was cozy and decorated nicely with beautiful bathroom. The king size bed was exceptionally comfortabl with quality linens. We had the first room upon entry to the building and found it was a bit disruptive with folks coming in from outdoors but beyond that we would and plan to definitely return (if you get a club room get one far from stairs). We enjoyed that room specifically due to fireplace during colder months. Great touches in room like real glasses, fridge, deluxe coffee and quality bath products with fluffy good quality towels. Over all splendid romantic stay.

Our first room smelled..it was directly over the Thai restaurant and exhaust fans. We moved to a smaller room which was very dusty. We did receive a $50 credit per night but the portion of the Hotel we were in was \"long in the tooth\". We weren't paying \"long in the tooth\" prices.

Upon greeting at the lobby we were handed over the keys from a young lady like it was a motel 8. No friendliness or info about the hotel or the amenities.
The washroom was untouched from likely the 90's, old toilet, shower didn't even drain properly and room looked dated, tired and dark. Not worth the premium rate charge.

I would love to give the Shaw Club 5 stars but there were two things that made our stay less than ideal: There was a drip in our shower and because the shower head is in the ceiling, it had a long way to go to reach the shower floor and made a very loud noise that disturbed our sleep. Also, I found the bed a little uncomfortable.
I know those are minor concerns so, otherwise, I would rate it 5 stars. The staff was really amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Overall, it's very clean and well kept. We very much appreciated that the hotel has its own parking and the location is walkable to a variety of shops and a beautiful and quaint strip.

Went to the bar / restaurant for a drink at 5pm and without any prompting from us were told “we can’t serve you food” (this despite a nearby table being served a meal). A good hotel is one where if you have an issue, the hotel makes good. In this case, the hotel did react to our concerns -- that our room had a smoking smell and the Jacuzzi jets in our tub weren't working. That said, our Club room had a Jacuzzi, an impressive feature, and the room was huge. What really impresses at this hotel is the staff! Very responsible, friendly, exceptional.

Pretty from far but far from pretty. We were in a club room and when you’re paying ~$400/night, there is an expectation for cleanliness and the quality of the property. There was something peeling behind the vanity, I don’t think they’ve ever cleaned between the vanity and the wall (which has a 3” gap). The bedside table had a lower shelf that I could draw in the dust.
