The room was fine. The hotel is fine. Parking is a disaster. It was fine, nothing to write home about. Would find other accommodations if I needed to stay in the area again. You can definitely find nicer hotels for the same cost (and they dont charge a "destination fee" whatever THAT is... this is NOT a destination.

Arrived late (11 pm) with no nearby parking. Attempted to pull car into open area, staff appeared and said I had to park across the street - even to check in ! And no offer of assistance. Juggled three bags across gravel area and two streets. Checked into jacuzzi suite- not good. So much empty space. The minimal amount of furniture is old and bedraggled. It is obvious that remodeling efforts were unsuccessful. Amenities were substandard….flimsy plastic cups, no soap for tub, soap is attached to an out of reach sink wall. Jacuzzi has a leak and was unappealing /old. Throughout my one night stay, I wore white socks. Upon departure, they were filthy.
My first floor room suffered consistent noise from the upper floor. There was also a repetitive sound from the right bedside ceiling ~ pipes (?).
They had a handheld shower which was good.
The pictures are not accurate.

The room does NOT have a small single cup of coffee maker. Most hotels I stay in these days have one. Room did NOT have a smart TV. Overall, the place is nice, but not excellent. Those that eat the hotel free breakfast, that seemed nice. I got coffee from that area. Rooms was large and spacious. Shower curtain had a musky smell and needed replaced or cleaned. Staff were very kind and gracious. We got daily room service once we asked. Overall, we would stay there again. Just don’t expect 5 Star amenities and accommodations.

Booked an upgraded room and what I was assigned was nothing like the pictures. They did end up shuffling us to a better room (still not the one in the pictures) but the hotel is beaten up, the carpets are gross, and after 7 phone calls I still couldn't get anyone to answer. They need a serious redo. Only redeeming factor was the breakfast.

I'm not about to be one of those reviewers who turn into a home inspector, but the hotel was in a great location. View of the Niagara River with Canada on the other side.

I'm sure in its prime this place was popping. Breakfast was great and some of the best bacon you'll ever encounter. Room was comfortable and I loved the bed. Shower pressure was good enough for me to take 20 minute turns lol.

Only knock I have about the room is ventilation is needed ... NEEDED in the bathroom(s). Visible mold on the ceiling. Please consult your HVAC provider for this.

Other than that this place is great.

4.5/5 for me

This is a really nice location very close to the river. It’s also within walking distance to the downtown area. The exterior of the building is well kept and the garden is lovely. The lobby is clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of room to sit inside or outside to eat/drink. They have a bar as well. The jacuzzi was okay but noticed some mold around the side. Small fitness center. I stayed on the 3rd floor in a corner room which was big, quiet, except for the squeaky floor right above the bed area from the people above me, the room was fairly clean except some mold in the bathroom. The seats in the room were a little stained. I didn’t get a chance to try the fireplace but lots of windows and light. Would stay here again. The worst part is it is street parking only except for a lot further down the hill.

The breakfast was simple but fresh and delicious. The staff were absolutely wonderful and made us feel right at home. The hotel isn’t new, but it’s incredibly cozy and has so much charm and character. Everything was spotless, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I truly enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

The staff was very friendly and the hotel was nicely decorated. There is very little parking and if you can’t park on the street you have to park on the next street over and walk back to the hotel. We were on the 2nd floor and it was a little confusing to find the room. The room was nicely decorated with a cold AC and a fireplace we didn’t use. The room was quiet and I only heard an occasional noise from the floor above us. The bed was a little hard for my liking and left me a little sore but the shower was very nice. Typical continental breakfast served with eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, waffles and various kinds of juices. I called the spa to see if they had any openings and was told they only have one worker so that was disappointing. We only stayed one night and the parking would be my only problem with staying again. They did charge a deposit of $50 which was refunded when we checked out.

The room was clean. The bathroom could use updating. A pedestal sink did not work for all the daily stuff we had. The view and grounds were really nice. A nice quiet area. I liked having a free breakfast but something besides scrambled eggs, like perhaps some breakfast sandwiches. The staff was helpful. A pool would be a great addition.

The inroom spa tub was wonderful. The room was clean and really quiet. The bed was good but they need new pillows. The property was nice but parking is not great on the property. There are several city parking lots I front of the hotel but the city was re-paving the surrounding roads and parking lots so it will be better in the future?

Older hotel with charm, beautiful lobby and grounds, along with the front view!
Staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful!
Room showed some age but very clean. I actually had some problem with the strong smell of cleaner.
Only thing we were frustrated with was the remote AC and fireplace. AC wasn't a very comfortable set up. Finally got the fireplace to work and then couldn't turn it off. Lol. Made a good nightlight.
Would stay there again.

As a travel agent , I would have to say this property is lacking quality in many ways. Checking in was not such a welcoming experience , attention to detail was missing, rooms need a cosmetic lift, parking was not a problem but hotel should provide better alternatives than parking on street.
Breakfast was very mediocre for a four diamond property. Coffee was worse than Maxwell House Instant from the days of my Grandparents.

The room was very nice. lots of windows. good bed. We enjoyed the hot tub. The breakfast was very good. Lots of bacon and sausage, scrambled eggs, bagels, fruit, waffle maker (should have brought real maple syrup), cereals and good coffee. We arrived at a busy breakfast time and couldn't find a table not remembering we could eat outside as it was a gorgeous morning. The little community is a gem.
One drawback we didn't experience but heard others talking about is the noise in some rooms.

Breakfast was a standard free breakfast, loved the bacon!
The hallways had a weird smell, not bad just weird but you adjusted pretty quick.
Room was huge and fantastic.
Beautiful little town with lots to do. Hotel is right on the water but set back a bit. Parking was a bit of a walk as it was set away from the hotel.
Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff were fantastic and very helpful! Definitely looking forward to booking again as a nice little weekend getaway!
