Ocean view was unparalleled! Felt like we were in a commercial! The rooms were extremely clean for our entire stay-as was everything else at the hotel. The best part was the staff!! They were so friendly, happy, and accomodating we couldnt have asked for more-and we noticed that even when backs were turned, they remained pleasant, helpful of each other, etc. They truly WERE the face they presented to the guests! They are what made the beauty and amenities of the hotel really stand put for us!

We stayed in a room on Level 4; unfortunately, it was very noisy since it is on the same level as the lobby. I would not recommend booking a room on this floor.
Some of the food at the buffet was cold, and not all of the restaurants were open during our stay.
We also paid extra for access to the Enclave Lounge; however, the hotel did not have sufficient staff there to adequately serve guests.

The resort overall was okay at best! The buffets were mediocre, at we couldn’t get a reservation at any of the other restaurants at a decent time and required 24hr. Prior reservation.
On three occasions our room wasn’t cleaned properly, dirty cups and towels left behind and no clean towels provided.
Most chairs around the pool are in the shade until after noon and some don’t get sun at all and have umbrellas, while other chairs in the sun have no umbrellas. Staff unwilling to move umbrellas from shady areas to the sunny areas! The hardest working poolside server was Eduardo. He was amazing! Others were okay and of course were friendlier once they discovered you tip well.
Norma in the buffet restaurant was also amazing! The staff over all were all friendly.
We ended up leaving the resort and having dinner in town where the food was amazing.
We have been coming to Puerto Vallarta for many years and would feel comfortable with not recommending this resort to others.

Great location, all rooms ocean view, good beach, friendly staff. The hotel overall is ok and not as luxury as pictures might suggest. The rooms are clean, tile floor, the decor and closet/drawer/tables are outdated, but clean and practical nonetheless. The bathrooms have glass door for toilet which is not good for privacy at all, and no sound proofing like a closed door, so it will get awkward depending. (I have seen that trend in another hilton as well in Montreal, and I have no idea why these hotels are going away from proper doors for hotel bathrooms to this 'open concept' ish bathroom model.

Quality of food and buffet are above average, but not excellent. Variety of choices and friendly staff make up for any shortcoming. Overall a pleasant food experience, but adjust your expectations accordingly.

Taxi to hotel should cost around $40-$50 from airport for a group of 6 people, and travel to downtown and back should be about $25 each way for a group of 6 people (larger van).

The beach is fantastic, has separated area with the rocks that keep the water calm in front of the hotel, so kids and adults can play in ocean water without worry of being dragged into the ocean by the currents etc.

I will definitely go back to the hotel but will adjust my expectations accordingly.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel isn't perfect (confusing elevators, couldn't break a larger bill at the front desk! Eventually did it with valet staff...) BUT, everything else was great and we enjoyed:
- the food - ESPECIALLY the outdoor lunch buffet
- the pools
- the staff (wonderful)
- the beach
- the staff (they are terrific)
- the room
- the staff!

Lots of activities...lots of families. High energy and just a good, fun time. The cabana rentals are worth it.

We stayed in a luxury corner suite (it was expensive because it was an upscale suite). The sky bar was very, very close to our room so it was VERY noisy at night. Both of us never left the hotel for 4 days. We got very sick... both of us... montezuma's revenge... throwing up, etc... we believe the cause was something we ate at the hotel. On a good note, the hotel hosted a free Mexican night at the conference center across the street. The event was fantastic... live music, etc.

Loved our stay. Hotel grounds were beautiful. Pools were big enough. Ocean swimming was great. Restaurants were generally decent. Made resos through the site and it was easy. Sushi was a surprising standout. Entertainment was meh, but that’s not what we were looking for. Views from the rooms were gorgeous - everyone got an ocean view. Saw humpback whales jumping. Service was always good. Even if a little slow by the beach or pool. Close to town so we went in a couple times - Tuna Azul was delish. The only big cons were the extra charges for certain menu items and there was no coffee shop - just a dumb Starbucks with Starbucks prices. Having a $$$ coffee bar where even snacks are $$$ is sacrilege in an all inclusive. You could get a coffee to go at the buffet but it wasn’t exactly convenient. Hotel is in good shape but showing wear. Having to wear a wristband sucked. But honestly the Starbucks is the worst part. Don’t f&@ck with my coffee.

We had a good time but felt the experience was less than expected for a Hilton branded property. Our previous experience with an all-inclusive Hyatt-Breathless Soul was superior and a bit less expensive. Our accommodations were average and we were located right across from a staff service area and each day we went to bed and woke up to the staff blasting music and/or speaking so loud it was difficult to sleep. The food was just okay—no variety each day in the Vela—same menu aside from the nightly buffets. The individual restaurants were nice but nothing exceptional. While the majority of the staff were friendly, some of them treated us like we were interrupting them.

The one bright spot—the pool and spa experience. My massage was so good (I asked for deep tissue and medium to firm pressure) and my body was sore the next day. I literally got what I asked for and my body needed it!! Gabriela was AMAZING and an absolute professional. I really like Hilton properties but will not return to this one again.

This is a 3 star at max resort on it’s BEST. The service throughout my whole trip was horrible. Long check in lines. Barely any attention or service at the restaurants. The rooms are average at best and poorly clean. There were stains on my best sheets I had to be asked to be changed and dust everywhere. The food is Rui level and most not edible. I barely survived for three days and no meal is worth highlighting. The best thing at this resort are the views. But not worth the associated price time. Save your time and money and stay elsewhere

Wow what a gem to stay at! Last minute Black Friday decision to get way for New Years and we made the right choice! Restaurants were great America, hostess, made sure we could always get a table. Norma was a most exquisite waitress. And Jose at poolside bar never let your drinks run dry or your appetite linger without asking if you were ready for more. To round it off, Saul was alway around as any tireless piece working like magic from the background and threw one heck of a NYE Party. Thank you all for your service with a smile and making this a very memorable stay.

Pros…
- Great beach with swimmable area.
- We stayed in an Enclave Suite. The room was spacious, clean, and well maintained. We were even under the Martini Lounge and other than a few scraping noises didn’t hear a thing. Even on karaoke night.
- Food was good. Only place I didn’t like was the Sushi place. Lot of the rolls had cream cheese in them and I am not a big fan.
- Staff was good. They work hard.
Cons…
- Adult pool was awkward. The chairs facing the oceans are hard to get to. There is a small pool with a fountain besides the main pool and it serves no purpose.
- Lot of kids. If you have kids it’s great but trying to have a romantic dinner with kids screaming in the background wasn’t for me.
- The beach is so great and not private so it can get a little crowded on the weekends.

Room 132 had a horrible smell in it. They changed the air filter which help a bit but it still smelled bad.
The management staff was not helpful at all. They either replied no or said ok to problems and did nothing. We were told previsit requests were not received and we had return confirmations from them. Yet they denied it.
The food was fair. Reservations are not possible unless you have higher Hilton status.

I booked this reservation about six months ago. When I made the reservation, I had asked for a cots in my room and they confirmed it. Even a few days before I checked in they sent me a note to welcome me and also confirmed my reservation and details at that time. When I got to the hotel, they told me they did not have any cots and that there would be a waitlist for it.

The first meal I had, I found a piece of plastic in my food. It looked like a wrapper. Also booking a reservation for a restaurant is nearly impossible! Their system is so silly.

The resort was clean and the staff were friendly. I did not have the best experience and I have been to many resorts in Mexico. This is why I would not return to.

Room was horrible condition. Old and scratched furnitures. Had the name of Hilton but not the quality whatsoever. Staff was rude and slow. Catered to more of their own people and color of choice. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with everything. Food was always cold and never severed in a timely fashion. Every dinner we went to took over two hours because staff was short and overwhelmed. Appetizers like soup and salad would take over 30 minutes to be brought. Would never recommend this to resort to anyone. I am also very disappointed in Expedia’s rating of this resort and giving it a four star. Headquarters of Expedia need to send more qualified individuals to evaluate the properties and give it the correct ratings that they deserve. I have been a valuable customer of Expedia for over two decades and was not expecting this type of property for a four star rating nor recommendation.

Overall our stay was fantastic. The food and service some of the best for an all inclusive we have experienced.

However the front desk staff is understaffed, overwhelmed, and in general not well trained. Or polite at times. Understand it’s the busy season but recommend providing guests with a detailed receipt prior to departure in order for guests to review and take care of the double charges. The billing on the website and at the property do not sync up for many charges including cabanas. We were triple charged and it took a lot of time and effort to receive a refund.

Despite this, it was a great stay overall.

Front desk staffs are not friendly and I felt uncomfortable. I mistakenly set the number of people to stay and they charged $300 per day, which is more expensive than the normal price. I meant if I set the number of people when I booked, the price may be lower than this. Btw, I asked them how to calculate $300 per day, and they just said it’s company’s policy. But the first offer was $450 and then they said $400, and then $300 after I complained. I couldn’t trust the staffs. And again, I felt unkindness.

The room was clean, quiet & the ocean view made our stay extra special. The only downside was the mattress; it was very uncomfortable.
The staff were amazing across the resort, from service staff to restaurant servers. My husband and I are vegan, and there were usually some options (even at the Vela buffet). One note for vegans; all breads at the buffet contained milk. We asked for dairy-free bread & they kindly baked some for us every morning.
Big shout-out to the team at Vela; chef Marcos Nazario, Norma, Esmeralda, Rosario, Pedro, and everyone else who made sure we were well taken care of. We also tried the Italian, Mexican & Asian restaurants & all had vegan options (the Mexican & Asian even had vegan menus).
One disappointment was that we’d read in earlier reviews that there was a vegan food truck by the pools, but it wasn’t there during our trip. A suggestion for the buffet would be listing full ingredients under each label; we often had to guess what items contained.
The beach was amazing and we spent most of our time there. The beach staff were excellent, regularly taking drink orders and setting up umbrellas as the sun came out.
There are two pools, including an adults-only pool, but they didn’t feel very clean to us, and the music was often very loud, so we didn’t spend much time there.
Overall, I’d rank the resort a 4-4.5, but because we had a great trip, I gave it a 5.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Vallarta Riviera and had a mixed experience overall.

The hotel itself feels a bit old and is in need of several updates. Every time we showered, a lot of water leaked out because the shower door was not properly leveled. The bathroom also needs better lighting, and the sink was clogged, causing the water to drain very slowly.

In terms of cleanliness, everything was excellent — truly 10/10. Most of the staff members were very kind and friendly, which we really appreciated.

As for the food, I would rate it a 6/10. Our favorite restaurant was Cocomar, which stood out compared to the others. Unfortunately, room service was a disappointment. We made a reservation the night before because we had an early morning excursion, but the breakfast arrived one hour late, cold, and lacking flavor. The chilaquiles, in particular, were the least flavorful meal we had during our stay.

The view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful and was definitely our favorite part of the experience. However, despite the great views and friendly staff, we are not sure if we would return

Also, At check-in, the staff member greeted us and spoke to us in English. I replied in Spanish, even though I do speak English, but the conversation continued in English despite my responses being in Spanish. I had to ask three times, very clearly, for them to please speak to me in Spanish before they finally did. This made the check-in experience a bit uncomfortable.

The hotel was very clean and we had a great time and the food was delicious.The staff was amazing and a special thank you to Martin at Cocomar for making sure our group was taken care of even when he wasnt our waiter. Pedro on the beach was quick with the drinks and made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Cefarino at the lobby bar was hilarious and kept us entertained. Efran at the pool bar was very helpful and Pedro the manager checked in daily with us to make sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely be back. ❤️

Room was dirty when we first went in. Food was okay at the restaurants but the buffet was the same everyday with no variety. Breakfast stopped by 12pm but they would not refill items at 11am. They didn’t have chips and guac or horchata which is super odd… Fresh juice only at breakfast otherwise you cannot get

Checked out and was waiting for a taxi. Asked for a virgin drink but lobby bar wouldn’t serve us which is very uncommon… Staff were not the kindest. Mixed bag. Rooftop jacuzzi wasn’t working either. Prefer Hyatt Ziva

The hotel staff is outstanding and take great care of the guests in the multiple restaurants or serving food and drinks at the pool. The same goes for the entertainment and sports personnel. The all inclusive food and drinks were good quality and our stay was so relaxing.

The building doesn't feel new anymore but is kept clean. The air conditioning struggled to keep up with the humidity and the room felt a bit damp the entire time (other guests felt that way, too). Otherwise the room was nice and everything was in working order.

Nice beach and pools as well.

Not part of the hotel but worth mentioning: If you can, arrange for transportation alternatives (like Uber).There is no hotel shuttle available and hailing a taxi is a third world experience. Dozens of desperate people descend on the new arrivals as soon as they come out of the airport and want to sell you tours and charge exorbitant fees for taxi rides ( We ended up paying $45 but were quoted up to $105).
