I would highly recommend finding an alternative hotel. The rooms were very dirty, the bathroom walls had not been cleaned and the entire restroom smelled of urine. The metal beds were cheap and shook when you adjusted. The mattress and pillows were also very low quality. The blinds were filthy and had electrical tape on tears, and the windows were also covered with electrical tape to seal or cover openings. This was among the dirtiest and most unkept hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Also told by hotel desk staff that we could check out a day early without penalty only to find they had charged us the full amount the day before we even arrived and then would not respond to Expedia’s requests for resolution. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE.

I'm not one to write bad reviews but don't waste your money.
Extremely small and not as its shown in their pictures.
The lobby is the nicest things in the whole building.
My daughter and I barely fit into the elevator together and it was just us, each with one bag.
THE BED omg horrible. I've slept on pull out couches better.

New York is known for small spaces but this was outlandish. I've stayed in this area many times and I've never had a bad experience.
There was one person at checkin/check out and the process was so slow but nothing was explained about the property or \"amenities\" just printing, payment and key cards handed.
0 stars all the way around

Oyo has 3 things going for it: location, price, and great, friendly staff. But the room itself is really dingy and in desperate need of repairs. The window shades do not work. The bedframe was super wobbly, with bent legs. The HVAC vent is right above the bed and it's SO LOUD it might keep you up at night. And the shower was only semi clean. This will definitely be my first and last stay.

The OYO Times Square was ok. However the location the best! Right in the heart of Times Square! Being connected to Serendipity was a plus! Good value for the location. Rooms were very small and bathroom was even smaller! It was so small that I bumped my head on the wall getting off the toilet! The shower was so tiny! I would stay here again just because of the location!

My stay at OYO Times Square was… an experience.

First challenge: calling the hotel. The number connects to an automated system that repeatedly drops the call, so if you enjoy phone tag with robots, you’re in luck.

Next up: parking. It’s not included and costs $40 USD per night located about a 10-minute walk away. There’s also no loading area, so be prepared to drag your luggage through Times Square like you’re training for the Amazing Race.

Our first room had a window duct taped shut and no heat, which made it feel more like a walk-in freezer than a hotel room. We were moved to another room where the window was also taped shut (apparently a theme), but at least the heat worked.

The shower was a gamble every time — it alternated between scalding hot and barely warm, with almost no water pressure. Think “spa day,” but if the spa was broken.

There was also a deposit surprise. I was told it would be $100 per night, but was charged $600 for a 3-night stay. I was promised the difference would be refunded after checkout, but even the day after leaving, it still hadn’t been returned and I am still yet to recieve any communications back regarding this issue.

To be fair, the mattress was comfortable. Unfortunately, the pillows were flatter than a pancake and the towels were tiny and scratchy.

I understand this is a budget hotel, but some basic things — working heat, functioning showers, and clear pricing — shouldn’t be luxury amenities.

Clean room. Nice staff. Great location. However: no refrigerator. No Ice machine in entire hotel. The drain in the shower was incredibly slow, causing the shower floor to fill with water during the shower. All in all a nice place!

Location is perfect. The rooms are uncomfortable and run-down. They are also smaller rooms, which is normal in NY, so I didn't take off for that. I only stayed one night, and I got up earlier than I had planned so I could get out of there quickly. Only stay here if you literally have nowhere else to go.

The first room had a broken tv, door, and bed. We requested a room change to the second room having a broken bed and fan in the bathroom. We could hear the NYC life as if we were outside. No insulation between us and the outside world. Not worth the price per night.

Check in and lobby staff were very nice, professional, and helpful.
The room was small and clean. The beds were very creaky but comfortable.
It was quite warm in the room and we could not turn the temperature down at all.
We were on the second floor and it was a little noisy outside the room until about midnight.

The rooms were very tiny. Despite this, my husband used a debit card to cover the hotel fees in case something breaks. He still hasn't gotten refunded for this. We've called the hotel multiple times & nobody seems to be able to take care of this. There's no manager to speak to and the email that they gave us bounces back & says its incorrect. He's out $180. I won't be coming back to this hotel EVER!

The room was great!! It was a little drafty an it has some age, but we loved it. The front desk staff and janitorial staff were so friendly and helpful.

The first night our TV didn’t work… in fact it didn’t work the whole trip. Hopefully they will do some sort of credit, but they did apologize and make a few calls to try to get it fixed or replaced.

Room is cheap. Bed is cheap no internet on the tv. Only reason why its even 2 stars was, the front desk early am check out on 1/19/26 was very helpful and friendly and the guy helping the bags storage. Checkin is a hustle took 30 mins for check in with 1 guy ahead of me. Another thing is the elevator so narrow it can only fit 2 check in and 2 carry with 2 people. No microwave, shower drainage is awful. Too many to mention. The only good thing facility wise is the lobby.

Beds were cheap metal frames that squeaked at every movement. The sink had large cracks developing. The shower area had bad water stains and just did not look inviting at all. The TV did not work. And they said sorry it can't be fixed, enjoy your night. Not a great experience.

My huge beef is the Hotels.com ad says \"free self-park\" when you check in and pay your deposit then youre told by the front desk parking is 3 blocks aways at $40usd sedan/$50usd suv vans per night

The rooms look nothing like the pictures. The walls were peeling off. Weird things were coming up from the toilet when you flushed. There were hairs in the bathroom. You can see through the ceiling. The smell was horrendous. We were afraid to even touch our feet on the floor. Better off just sticking to the main brands (Hilton, etc.)

We had two identical rooms reserved, one room was not the one we had booked. We got one room and hour and a half past checkin time. The tv didn't work in either room. Maria at the front desk was rude both times that I spoke with her. On a positive note, however, every other employee that we encountered was exceptional.

I absolutely hated everything about this hotel. The elevators were so slow and the smallest I have ever seen. Only 3-4 people could fit, and that’s it’s you had no luggage. The rooms were small as well. The bed, omg, the bed reminded me of a dorm room. Bolted to the wall and squeaked with the smallest of motion. The bathroom had absolutely no space to put anything! The tissue was almost to the floor in placement. The heater to the room made noise as soon as it clicked on. There was no hand soap but bar soap! This was the first hotel I’ve been to that had actual shower curtains, yuck! I hated it! Very dated and not clean. I slept on blankets we had on the flight. This was by far the worse hotel I’ve ever been too. Despite that, the staff was friendly and the expensive restaurant downstairs was cute, very pink, and the food wasn’t terrible. Would not recommend.

When I stayed there a few years ago I thought that it was clean and well maintained, but the management has really let it go. The paint on the floorboards in the hallway and on the elevator door was chipped and the paint was peeling in the bathroom. Also, the furniture in the lobby was worn and dirty. I also was surprised when i was charged a facility fee at check in because I thought I had already paid for the room in full. I think that this is a deceptive practice and Orbitz should require hotels to state the entire cost of the room up front.

Description says, \"self-parking included.\" Wording is misleading. Parking is not included with your reservation. It is $40 a day. So be advised and factor that into the price when researching. Water takes an eternity to heat up. Heat in the room barely worked. TV did not function. Location, however, was spectacular.

The process is slow - nearly 10 minutes per guest. The line was to the door and there were only 2 people doing the check ins. The black out curtains were worn and had several holes in them, making the windows speckled with light at night. The hot water took over 5 minutes to get warm. The heating unit worked fine but was obnoxiously loud.

If you get a little earlier than you check in, they want to charge you $75.00 to go in an hour earlier. Also, the rooms are horribly small that I couldn't open my suitcase, and the bathrooms are moldy and dirty. The shower was filthy, and the towels provided were very old and had lost their threath.

Worst hotel ever, not breakfast included, way too expensive. After you pay the hotel you need to pay a fee at the check in, the hotel said “view at the city” and when we get there we saw two white walls. Not parking included, the bed was way too cheap, when you move it sounds, the mattress super uncomfortable. Not clean at all, I didn’t even wanted to touch the windows because of the dirty, the pictures didn’t match the hotel at all. Not recommended 0 stars out of 5. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

No breakfast, room had a blood stain on the dirty carpet, bed frame was broken and zip tied together, holes in the walls with mismatched paint. Complained to desk and was told to complain to Expedia. Hallway was unpainted and leaking water with holes in ceiling and spackled everywhere, including on carpets. Broken camera hanging from the ceilings and worker was in the hallway after hours at 10 pm in and out of rooms working? Outdated Heating system barely worked and was so loud you can’t sleep. I have pics and videos of this atrocity to support my review. Stay anywhere but here. OYO stands for own your own which is exactly what you are once they swipe your credit card. Beware.

checked into your hotel at the scheduled time and was assigned three different rooms, all of which were filthy and unsatisfactory. Each room had cleanliness issues that made them unacceptable for guest use.

After repeatedly reporting the problem, I was told there was a system issue. Dennis specifically stated that the $44 facility charge would be refunded due to the inconvenience and unacceptable conditions.

Later, I was informed that no refund would be issued, meaning I was lied to, and I received no reimbursement or compensation of any kind despite the situation. I was still charged the facility fee even though I never received a clean, usable room.

This experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Being moved multiple times, promised a refund, and then denied it entirely is unacceptable.

Do not book here. The rooms do not look like the photos. Our bed squeaked even if you breathed. Facilities broken, offering no replacement and rudeness from staff when asking for some water. The bathroom fan was louder than a helicopter. Sure the only positive is its right near time square but I would recommend to book elsewhere for a better stay. Did not feel clean.
