Clean room with all basic amenities and good staff. Coffee is available 24/7. Close to the CTA bus which can take to to the good spots within 10-20mins. Breakfast was standard as all other Sonesta hotels have everyday. Can improve in variety. Also the staff provided the wrong time for the Friday breakfast resulting us to miss it on our first day.

Great location – two blocks to Lake Michigan or, going the opposite way, Michigan Ave.. Room are very nice room: spacious, clean, big comfortable bed, full kitchen with coffee maker. No safe in room. The buffet breakfast included is good but, oddly you have to go to the nearby lobby to get coffee. All plates and utensils are paper or plastic. Additionally, you bus your own plates. It is probably me, but I didn’t like that the toilet paper was one-ply. The check-in staff were friendly. I arrived at noon but check in was 4pm. They charged me an extra $25 for access to my room. If you are fairly active, you can pretty much walk the Central Business District and along the river walk. So many great things to see along the way. Highly recommended as a 3-Star hotel.

I don’t buy cereal, but occasionally like to indulge—it was great—the variety of toppings. Would have loved fresh fruit/bananas and perhaps Turku (or Jeff) alternatives of pork..

The property looks dirty when you pull up. There is a weird smell throughout the hotel including the room. Staff is ok but not really concerned at helping you with your complaints. The noise level early in the morning is ridiculous. We could not sleep and my wife had a medical appointment at Northwestern. Breakfast was good. Beds were a little hard.

The breakfast had many tasty options and all were high quality.. However the orange juice was sour! Each day it was the same unpleasant bitterness. The room was lovely. The bed was very comfortable but it was too high off the floor. I had to struggle to get into bed each time. It was quiet and we slept soundly. The kitchen was fully appointed. One evening we made spaghetti with ingredients from a local drug store. The hotel location is wonderful, only two blocks or so east of Michigan Avenue. Taxis were always easy to find outside. The bus stop was two blocks away. I was disappointed that checkout time was 11 am. Noon would have been much more convenient.

This Sonesta Magnificent Mile, is in a great location near many upscale stores. Great room, very spacious the only downside is at breakfast there were no turkey options and the only parking available is Valet which is $70 pet night. Thats expensive.

The location in downtown Chicago was excellent - easy walking down Mag Mile and to the lake, lots of Uber/Lyft options available, close to the L-system. It was generally pretty quiet. The buffet breakfast included was one of the better ones I have had at any hotel recently. The breakfast staff was incredibly friendly and sociable. Food options were good.
The hotel lobby was nice and it makes a good first impression. It kind of goes downhill once you get to the rooms. What is shown in the photos is not what you get. The bathroom was small and no ventilation, the interior was very dated and simple and there honestly were not enough plugs, especially near the beds for charging devices at night, the carpet was worn and the was very little on the walls so it looked stark. My wife checked in first and she shared that she had to request another room because the first one had an overwhelming odor of marijuana. Not impressed

The cold water in the bathroom and all sinks do not condition to the temperature selected, the front door of hotel room all look severely damaged, sheets were soiled , thank goodness for staff member “Tony” that personally came to change the sheets after checking in… the toilet seat is tiny also

What a great overall value. I was able to take two teen girls for a spring break trip and give them the privacy of their own room. Having a kitchen was a huge bonus. The included breakfast was decent but extremely over-crowded most of the time. We were provided clean towels and trash removal through our stay. Yes, valet parking is $70, but that is not unusual. We were able to walk many places and ubered to a few others. The rooms were quite clean and the beds comfortable. We were on the 18th floor, and it was surprisingly quiet. We had a great stay!

I had a wonderful stay at the Sonesta ES Suites Chicago and will definitely be returning! From the moment I arrived, everything was smooth and convenient—especially the valet service, which made coming and going effortless.

The continental breakfast truly exceeded my expectations. There were plenty of options, and everything was fresh and well-prepared—such a great way to start the day.

My suite was large, clean, and incredibly spacious, giving me more than enough room to relax and feel at home. And the location? Absolutely perfect—close to everything I needed, which made my trip even more enjoyable.

Overall, an amazing experience. I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to stay here again!

Great staff! Better than average included breakfast. Small kitchen in room was a nice plus. Best feature is the location. Perfect walking distance to anything on Michigan ave or Gold Coast/Rush street. Parking $70’per night is a good value as well, can access anytime during your stay.

We arrived early, the staff offered to hold our bags so we could start exploring.

Upon entering the room, we noticed it was unbearably hot in the room, we tried turning on the AC but since it was in the spring, only heat came on. We asked the front desk, they sent the engineer work on the AC situation for us. We were able to get comfortable. We also asked for extra pillows for the sleeper sofa, which were provided promptly.

Breakfast was a bonus especially for the area, they had good variety. Coffee, tea and hot cocoa were available always by the front desk, which was appreciated.

The hotel was clean for the most part, no house keeping everyday but I think that became standard post covid, they did bring up
Towels and pack and play very quickly. Early check in fee was 60 dollars which I have never experienced before, like if the room is ready…it’s ready and it was they just charged a fee to come in it lol. valet was quick and it was close to everything our room had a weird buzzing sound that keep me up, a lot of happy little dogs. The breakfast could be skipped the seating area was very small, the food wast good in my option selection and options were limited. Overall good stay, but probably would pay a little more up front for nicer amenities.

Good coffee in the lobby 24/7. The hot breakfast was delicious. A great way to start a day on vacation not trying to find a place eat. It’s right in the lobby! Staff was professional, incredibly helpful and kind. Big shout out to John at the front desk. Although not assured with the request, I was able to upgrade our room because he knew we needed this, as we requested and it was accommodated by the time we arrived. The room upgrade made our stay so nice. Having a suite with bedrooms was a game changer. Full kitchen. Large table for enhanced fellowship. The hotel area is In a neighborhood. Didn’t expect that. Folks walking their dogs, pushing strollers and walking out for a meal. Great location for walking to amenities. Although we had to Uber to most places, it was mostly short rides. And I recommend using if needed. Chicago is a wonderful heartfelt city with so many places to see, great food to eat and good people. We can’t wait to come back! We will without hesitation stay at Sonesta ES!

The hotel’s location was excellent. It was very convenient for shopping, and many places were within walking distance. Some of the staff were unfriendly, while others were very kind and helpful.

The hotel only offers valet parking, which costs $70 per day. When you need your car, you usually have to wait about 30 minutes, so it’s best to let them know in advance. Around 6 a.m., the wait can be close to an hour, so it’s important to request your car ahead of time.

Breakfast was so monotonous everyday, there was no change in the menu. The taste was about average, one of the staff was a little rude. Coming to the room, it was average and not kid friendly, the height of the wash basin was too high, my kid couldn't brush his teeth and wash the face on his own due to the height it was placed, after we checked in we were told that the room will be cleaned only after 5 to 6 days, I have never encountered such schedules in the past where ever we stayed, room was getting dirty and the cleaning was not being done due to the so called 5 to 6 days rule. We stayed for 4 nights, so the room wouldn't get cleaned at all? at least alternate day cleaning would have been better choice. I would never come back to Sonesta again, very bad experience.

Ok, empecemos por la limpieza de las habitaciones, solo lo hacen cada 5 dias y las toallas las cambian y notan la basura cada 3 días. El menú del desayuno es muy básico y repetitivo casi todos los días, hubo un día ( el martes) que prácticamente no había nada en el menú y la máquina de panquecas también se les rompió. El piso de los elevadores la mayoría del tiempo estaban sucios. El agua embotellada la venden demasiado cara, y además te cobran 25 dólares si llegas antes de las 4 pm y quieres entrar a la habitación porque cuando viajas con niños es normal que quieran descansar después de un viaje desde La Florida. Realmente no recomiendo este hotel, existen muchas buenas opciones cerca y con precios similares

The staff was inviting and friendly. Rooms were very clean and spacious. I booked a 2 bedroom and the kitchen was great to have.

A few tiny things: the fragrance used in the lobby is very overwhelming and with someone who has sensitivities to smells it made me nauseous and unable to sit in the lobby to wait on my car.

Also the $70 a night for valet parking for guests is pricey however I did get a $40 per night credit through Expedia.

With the hassle of the water being off a little bit of a compensation would have been nice though I understand it wasn't under their control. But it was quite the hassle.

Rented a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen. There are no kitchen dishes that can go in the oven. I contacted staff to ask for something and the rude front desk person said that it isn't provided then why do you have ovens in the room? I got an uber to a store to buy kitchen essentials which are useless to me since I live across the country. They provided one serving spoon that was melted.
The breakfast was pretty terrible with lots of plain bread and bagels.
Next I learned our room would be serviced at 3, 5, and 7 days. I was also told that if we needed anything to call. Thus, on day 3 I called to say we were leaving for the next 4-5 hours perhaps our room could be serviced in that window. I was told by the same rude front desk person on the 3rd day we only bring towels and take garbage. I wasn't happy but said okay and then she said I have to check if your on the schedule. The garbage is overflowing what would you like me to do with that? We called for toilet paper a day later that never came. We had to seek out housekeeping ourselves. Kleenex ran out nonone picked up the phone so we went to Walgreens to buy some. The free coffee/hot water was never full when we checked intermittently throughout the day. Then we got a letter that the water would be turned off from 9-5 the next day. I can't recommend this hotel. Their service has a lot to be desired.

expecting a room with a king-size bed and a couch that converts into a bed. However, my experience was far from satisfactory.
Upon check-in, there was no mention of any issues with my reservation. When I arrived at my room, I was disappointed to find that the bed was not a king size, and there was no sofa bed available. This was contrary to what I had booked and expected.
When I contacted the front desk to address the situation, I was surprised to find that they were trying to charge me extra for the accommodations I had already reserved. This lack of communication and willingness to resolve the issue was frustrating and left me feeling dissatisfied with my stay.
Given the discrepancies between what was promised and what was provided, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Sonesta suites is relatively nice and in an excellent location. A little disappointed that at night there was no hot water for tea and at 10am there was no coffee! There were several people disappointed about this as well! The refrigerator was either not working or turned down all the way, (didn’t know because the light were on) so the champagne I was looking forward to having on my bday wasn’t properly chilled. When we left and came back to our room, the room smelled awful, like a sewer! I’ll probably stay somewhere else next time!
