With my experience at the time of our stay from Feb 27-March 6, was not good as we had a toilet issue and the hotel didn’t do much to accommodate us. Also they had no maintenance person on site and I had to take care of the issue myself. They said at the end of our stay that they would credit us 1night but we have yet to see the credit back to us. I rate them a 2.5

This hotel is close enough to walk throughout the center of Playa del Carmen. The rooftop pool and restaurant are lovely. They have underground parking for an additional fee. If you are hoping to go clubbing, you can walk to all the major clubs nearby without having the noise from them ruin your nights sleep. The only low point was the water pressure in the shower was very low, but I also experienced that at another hotel in town, so it might just be the case everywhere.

The hotel itself was great. Location, staff, food. I read the reviews before I went and I felt people said “a little noisy” I cannot stress enough that this would be calling a tornado “ a little windy”. It is loud. If you stay up til 1am with loud bar/club music it’s gonna be great for you. If you prefer your hotel to be the place you go to for some rest and relaxation to step away from the noise and the chaos, it will not be there. The doors are very thin and light so it does not offer sound dampening. The front desk does offer ear plugs upon request though. Again everything else was great, I had no complaints in regards to cost, staff, drinks, food. As far as location I don’t think it could be beat. It was off 5th avenue and was an easy walk but less congested, but had a park area across the street that street vendors set up, so still plenty within feet of the room.

The entertainment at the hotel is extremely loud every night even with earplugs it doesn't help!!
Free breakfast included is very limited to what you can actually have, the pool is very small and the hotel rooms are run down. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful though.

Staff was not attentive. The treated event patrons with a higher priority than the guest. We spent 5 days battling to connect to the Internet and 2 days with no television. The music is so loud your ears will be ringing. Bring ear plugs if you must stay. The only thing that worked correctly in the hotel was the AC. Will not stay here again. Try the Palms at Playa or Hotel MiMi

We had a great stay!
The customer service was great! We appreciated the hospitality and care that everyone provided!
The room was very clean.
The location was convenient and walkable.
The vibe was perfect for a girls trip! We had so much fun and enjoyed the breakfast!!!

The only negatives, the shuttle cost advertised was not $90 but about $105 each way, or $1600 pesos. This really should state $1600 pesos as the exchange rates fluctuate. This is payable only to the driver upon arrival in cash only. But the service was great and on time.
Aside from that the room was a bit outdated, the shower had very little water pressure, and there were no chairs in the room to sit down. Only 2 beds.
Those to me are not that big of a deal but to some it may matter and are worth mentioning.
I really loved the charm of this place and felt safe and well cared for. I’ll def be back!

The staff were great. My issue is that nothing was said about the music very night outside the rooms. Not that I came to playa del Carmen to watch TV but when the music is so so very loud every night I couldn’t hear the TV ON FULL VOLUME. Your young guy in the front desk that helped me check out said if Orbits send an email that his boss would refund my stay. He was very cool and tried everything to make things better but I was so disappointed that I checked out 3 days earlier and came home. I’ve visited playa del Carmen, Cancun.Tulum many times. I just think that you need to let vacationers know the real level of quality and make sure the club music till late hours every night is insanely close to rooms. 10FT!! Stainless steel joints that hold up the shower door need to be replaced and main door looked horrible patch up job.Tiles in room broken and the worst cheapes furniture. Recommended putting a few nice pictures on walls. Increase the size of the TV from 24” to something more reasonable. THE ARTWORK IS everywhere and awesome art very abundant. Show some love to Cashe. I’ll be waiting on my refund. The three stars was for the staff. Thanks

Never staff at desk. Had to wait 30 minutes past check in for someone to come and check me in. Water worked only sometimes. Water quit on me 3 times during one quick shower. Quit on me with soap on my face. Had to wait 20 minutes or so for water to turn back on after each time it shut off. There were a few roaches seen.. Could never get the room temperature comfortable. They don’t tell you this online but you only get one towel to use every 3 days because that’s when they come back to clean your room. If you want more towels you can get them for a fee but that’s IF they have any clean ones to give to you. They say events on the roof end at 11:00PM to allow people quiet to rest. Events actually went on all night. Can hear it loud and well from your room. Broken glass in and around the pool. Saw a child cut his foot on glass. Yes, a CHILD at this ADULTS ONLY hotel. We left and paid more for a different hotel because it was that bad.

Upon check-in, there was extra taxes/fees that we paid. We were later asked to pay them again after being told we didn’t pay enough at check-in. Paid the correct amount but the hotel didn’t have any pesos or dollars to give us change. Waited 2 days to get change. The room I booked was not the room I received. This is a party hotel, every night of our stay there was loud music until at least midnight. Our room 210 was directly over the patio/kitchen/bar. Music was blasting at 7:30 one morning after the after midnight party the night before. Woke up one morning around 5am with no running water. Water came back on around 8 or 9 but it was very brown. This ruined our plans for an excursion that was leaving by 10:30. Nothing said from management about the water issue or water bottles provided to even brush teeth or wash your face. We had an early flight so we were leaving the hotel before 7am. Thought no one was there at the desk, all lights were out. Having a conversation with my spouse about what to do with the keys and getting our deposit , a man rose up from the floor behind the counter, asleep and possibly intoxicated. He couldn’t get us or our other family members checked out properly as he was very disoriented. We had to leave as our taxi was waiting to take us to the airport, not knowing if we were checked out. This was a disastrous stay and will NEVER stay here again.

The staff were really kind but half the time I had trouble finding someone to talk to. It is hard to reach them on WhatsApp and I don’t hear back for days. My main issue during my stay was that the toilet didn’t flush for 3 of the 5 days I was there, and the sink had brown water even though I left it running for a minute to clear up. At times, we had no water at all and the shower was off. The free included breakfast is very limited and you can only order 1 thing per person, I got 2 eggs and a salad with toast and another time 2 pancakes. When we checked in, the mini bar was not stocked and they tried to charge us for items we did not take (why would we get chips or chocolate when there are marquesitas right outside???). It seemed like the room was not entirely tidied when we were inside.

The area is very central and walkable. They have events on the rooftop most nights so if you sleep early and like quiet, this is not the hotel for you. Most of the music was also geared toward older retired white Floridians but on Fridays they do Afrobeats. Even when the rooftop closes at about 12am, you can still hear the market across the street until maybe about 1-2am.

Overall it’s a cute hotel that could be better maintained (a lot of the interior is worn down, cracked, and our mirror had a lot of stains and peeling), but I would not stay here again due to all the inconveniences I experienced.

No water for several hours. Water pressure was not good any of my 6 days stay. The toilet did not work at all the last night. I had early checkout the attendance was asleep on the floor. He was not able to check us out due to he was very disoriented. We had a plane to catch so we left hoping the deposit will be on our cards.

We had a wonderful stay at Cache. Great location and nice rooms. They do have live music at night so be aware if you are looking for something more quiet, but we didn’t mind since we had earplugs. The rooftop pool was also very nice and friendly staff. Gracias!

The place is fun and for people who want to have fun and dance and listen to music or just chill and listen to music and eat and drink right outside your room sitting at the tables or at the bar or in the pool, connected to the casino. Only problem is none of the taxi guys know about this place and even giving them the address they seem ti get confused. It’s better to say the casino if you want to get dropped off at the right place

Keep looking for a better hotel.
Best thing about cache hotel is location (close to 5th avenue).
The rest is just bland and disappointing! Non existent room cleaning, towels never changed, breakfast was ok but small portions. We had two “suites”, with complimentary power cut outs, broken double glazed windows, damp smell, mosquitoes and drain flies.
Sorry to say I was thoroughly underwhelmed with my stay, and if I had an option - would have moved!

The hotel lied and Expedia did not help. I booked a room with a hot tub as we planned on doing lots of theme parks and we thought it would be nice to use after the long day. I looked at many hotels but went with this hotel for that reason. Only two class of rooms had hot tub listed in the description and I took one of them. When we checked into the room there was not hot tub and I checked with the office and was took that room only had a bath tub and not a hot tub. I showed them the description there it clearly said hot tub and they would do nothing. But I could upgrade to the most expensive room which did have a hot tub. I called Expedia and talked and emailed them and they was no help. Totally unwilling to help me in any way. We stayed the night in the room and was horrified to learn our room was next to a outdoor dance area that had live very loud live music until 1 am and we was unable to sleep. Call Expedia again they was no help. We looked for another hotel but was unable to find anything we could afford after paying out all the money we had already. We paid the experience upgrade fees to change to the room with the hot tub and it was farther away from the music but sadly not far enough... every night very loud music until 1 am we purchased eye plugs and they only helped a little. We was so tried everyday and was unable to enjoy our trip and the trip was to celebrate my birthday. As bad as the hotel was Expedia was just his worst has they didn't care.

Amazing location, great vibe, and fantastic staff!
We loved our stay here! The location couldn’t be better—just a minute’s walk to 5th Avenue. The rooftop pool and bar were perfect for relaxing, and the included breakfast was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. There was something fun happening every night—DJs, salsa lessons, movie nights, a live jazz band—great for staying in or kicking off the evening before heading out. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond, even recommending a local beach to avoid the seaweed. I’d absolutely recommend this hotel to friends and will definitely be back!

I stayed at Hotel Cache for my 34th birthday. I love the breakfast selection every morning hot made to order.The customer service was top tier at hotel cache. The local vendors sell unique gifts and food at nights just steps outside the hotel; Cache is walkable to 5th Avenue do shopping. I got to take a collectivo to Xcaret for my bday 10/10 experience. Every three days my room was cleaned 10/10 I had no issues.

If I could curse on here I would. WOW not a good place. The bar was great, great food, great events but owner/front desk operations not the same. Property is close to fifth Ave and centro marketplace that opens nightly. Breakfast every morning was nice and great value. Evenings were really loud with live music. If you enjoy this type of setting you will love this place. It didn’t really bother us much. Only issue was sheet had a stain on it and they took forever to change it. Room had a slight damp smell. I also didn’t get my VIP parking privileges which I found out about after they changed me for daily parking. The bartender was the best and she makes the best mixed drinks!

Unfortunately, this hotel was well below our expectations based on the photos we saw at the time of booking. There are two positives: the location is great, and the underground parking (although charged daily) is convenient.

However, there are several downsides. As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is heavily focused on parties — the music is extremely loud, almost every day, to the point where our room was literally shaking. The parties go until 11 PM, making it hard to relax or get a good night's sleep, especially if you're in Cancun for tours and good food, not nightlife.

The breakfast was OK, but it only starts at 8 AM, which is quite late if you have early tours planned or want to go to cenotes or beaches early to avoid crowds — we often had to leave without eating. Our room smelled old, didn’t feel cozy, and surprisingly, there was no fridge. Even the hotel bar staff were surprised when we asked them to store some food for us.

The hotel is clearly focused on parties and often invites external guests to join. Because of that, it’s hard to enjoy the pool or relax after a long day of tours — there’s little to no peace and quiet even during the afternoon or early evening.

I loved the umbrellas that greeted you as you ascended the stairs to the pool. The dining area was lovely with the plants and seating options. It was so convenient to have a keypad on the door of the room so we didn't have to fuss with a key. The bed and pillows were fabulous! The room was spacious and clean.

I would not stay here again. The music was very loud and I could hear the sound base in my room. Man at reception called Amran told me I wasn’t allowed to take my towel out of the hotel, this has never happened before and when I couldn’t understand him he rolled his eyes at me. He proceeded to gaslight me and say in sarcastic way “sorry I ruined your vacation” I called him out on it and felt uncomfortable. The bartenders in the restaurant were very nice.

First, the service staff is excellent. There is entertainment almost every night. It ends between 11-12pm. I noticed that some reviewers complained about noise. Listen, if you’re coming to Playa and going to bed before 12, stay home.
The food is excellent. The breakfast is good but light. You can add items for very little.
Reserve the damn place, already and have fun

This is an aging property without a doubt but still has enough to make it a solid choice. The location is great for getting to a lot of what Playa has to offer.

This was my 14th trip to Play del Carmen and I have stayed in town 11 of those trips. I will say Cache is toward the top. It was clean, everything worked, the VIP benefits were a nice touch and the location if terrific.

The cons are few. The bed was dead and overly soft. The music is very loud so just be ready. The AC could barely keep up but did just enough.

All in all we would def stay there again.

Absolutely DO NOT STAY HERE! Nothing on the hotel's website is accurate including the pictures. Consistent noise into the evening made it impossible for relaxing or sleeping - we had to book another hotel and move! The room was dirty, cigarette burnt holes on the bed and chairs. Although the website says hotel has an English speaking concierge, this was also not true. I have contacted the hotel several times to receive my money back as we could not stay due to the filth of the room and the incredible noise that this hotel illicits and no one has gotten back to me!~ DO NOT STAY HERE

The staff is very friendly and enjoyed breakfast included everyday. Make sure to order the wedge potatoes, and falafel sandwich, both the best I ever had. Just spent a week at Caché Boutique Hotel. Location is good, 2 short blocks to Wal Mart, a short walk to the nightclub section of La Quinta. Was not noisy at night except Thursday night for some reason. I could hear a nightclub pumpin till after 3am. The hotel has events regularly, almost every night but they all ended around midnight. The events were often semi-private events, there was a birthday party, French Canadian karaoke, a BBQ for a group of older Quebecois people. Etc. as a guest, it was a bit odd seeing all these private events in the space that is supposed to be yours… to be fair, we were welcome to join (I think), but everyone in attendance knew each other and we felt like the odd ones out. The free breakfast was a nice touch, but it’s basic and small, you can add and egg, cheese, bacon etc for an up-charge. Coffee was included but it was NOT good coffee. One thing to keep in mind is that this hotel does not provide drinking water, which I found odd. I’ve been to playa many times, every hotel I’ve stayed at provides drinking water daily. Even more budget hotels. It was a little annoying but wal mart has giant bottles of water for pretty cheap. Which begs the question, why not just include it for the guests? The building is showing its age, but the beds were comfortable, cleaning staff did a great job. Room was ok. Overall our stay was good.

this is not my first time staying at this hotel, it located at a great central location , as I don’t like to stay on the Quinta Avenida as it is very loud, comfortable bed and pillows , hot water 24/7(you’ll be surprised how many hotels does have cold water). Ice staff and great breakfast . Definitely recommend.

Hotel room was very very basic but clean. We were only staying one night so it wasn’t really a big deal. Enjoyed the rooftop bar and restaurant and the live music. However, very loud club music started after the band and went until after 11:00. The place is small so I doubt there was any room that would have been quiet.

Decided to try this hotel due to location and 24 hr reception as i got in late 1st room full of smoke had to change then second room huge massive window facing elevator you hear every person using it bed sheets had stains had to sleep on a towel which didnt look the greatest either 8 am start hearing loud bursts tried to dismiss it after 15 mins exhausted i checked outside my room to find staff popping new years balloons honestly the one brightside is their breakfast and coffee which i dont normally take i paid extra to add but was well worth it and server was nice so he got tip maid aswell

One of worst thing about property is that , they are showing on beach in photos , they should show actual area in photo of property of hotel, it looks like on beach but when u reach on the hotel its like a bar nothing else because in the nught you cannot sleep all the time have too much noise , people do not clean even you say to reception. At receptio nobody is available all the time. Worst experience of my life after visiting 43 countries

In Mexico one cannot drink the tap water and hotels always offer a couple of bottles of water so you can brush your teeth, but not this one! You have to run out and find a tienda and buy your own water! The window coverings are blinds that let in all the nightlights and it’s a party place so the boom boom music too. Great place for young people I’m guessing but not us old folks.

- Very noisy at nights playing loud music until around 12:30-1:00am.
- Very low water pressure in the bathroom
- No safe in my room.
- No fridge in my room. Had to ask for it

I was to stay here 3 nights. Checkin was easy, but I had to take my luggage up a flight of stairs to even get to the elevator. Once I got to my room I noticed the door had looked like it had
previously been kicked in. The room smelled terrible and I could tell they tried to use air freshener which made me sick to my stomach. The room was very old and the ceiling was caving in. The closet was made of particleboard so it was falling apart. The bottom of the shower was brown and nasty, but to top it off the sheets had stains on them. I went to the front desk and the lady came to take a look and when we got to the room the cleaning lady had just finished in my room. I pulled back the bed to show the lady the sheets and the stains were no longer there. I knew there was no way for her to clean the room and change the bed in that amount of time so I pulled all the sheets back and the cleaning lady just turned the stains to the bottom of the bed. The sheets were not just stained because I ran my hand over it and the spots were crusty. Also, I booked a non smoking room and cigarette smoke was coming through the vent. The music at the bar was so loud there is no way to get a decent night of sleep. The lady at the front desk offered me another room so we went to look what was available and it wasn’t any better. I checked out and went to another hotel. She did not refund me my money and basically said I was out of luck. I have pics to prove all of this. Avoid this place!

This hotel is absolutely amazing. If you aren't at all that enjoys a good vibe.Good food and good energy for you. Everynight they have a different themed party like bachata night and karaoke and line dancing. Staff is absolutely amazing.. the bar tenders are phenomenal..drinks are well.priced and very high end. Great music selection. The rooms are big and clean. Shower is hot. AC is cold. They play music until about midnight which I loved. 5 minutes walk from beach and walmart. Definitely coming back. Thank you guys. I have been traveling for a while and never had a better time

Review of CACHE Hotel in Playa Del Carmen

Location: Unbeatable, right by the beach & 5th Ave.

Check-In: Disappointing; waited 2 hours due to poor staffing.

Room: Was not the VIP King booked; room was dirty, towels & sheets stained, no soap. Attendant denied clean towels until next day.

Service: Inconsistent; some staff helpful, others not. Owner seen around, perhaps monitoring.

Amenities: Bar nice, breakfast good, but overall service lags.

Experience: Location is perfect but marred by service and cleanliness issues. Other guests' loud disputes with staff were uncomfortable, especially considering the need for discretion in the area.

Conclusion: Needs significant improvements in service and room upkeep. Location saves it from being worse, but expect basic service for what's advertised as VIP.

Rating: 1.5/5 - Great spot, but execution needs work.

Staff, location, restaurant and food are great. The only thing is that the music may keep you up a bit in late night but who cares about sleeping while on holiday.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and music wasn’t an issue as I didn’t need to get up early. Highly recommend.

This was a fun place to stay. I didn't mind the live band, but if you are looking for a place to get a good night's sleep, this is not it. The bed was super comfortable and the room was large. I loved the mini fridge and the spacious shower. I wasn't a fan of the lo-flow toilet, but they are everywhere. I will definitely stay there again. A great location with secure parking.

Exactly what was expected. Less than a 5 min walk from the Main Street but just far enough off so you don't hear the noise. Great and friendly staff that give you good suggestions, depending on what you are looking for. Great vibe from the hotel with the evening entertainment which varied from night to night.

I lost money inside the room vault. Elevator is not working, there are a lot of stairs. They will charge you for more than your stay for a little dirt in their sheets which can be cleaned with normal laundry

The staff were all nice and helpful. The communal areas are lovely and they food was good too. The down sides are the room smelt damp and the condition was poor (see pictures) it looked like poor workmanship and lack of care. Luckily I’m a deep sleeper as the music is unnecessarily loud until 1am and we were probably one of the furthest rooms away from the speakers. We had a junior room and at full price it is expensive and would not be worth the money by a long way. The location is great though
