It was our first time in Cancun and it went better than okay!. The staff was friendly , helpful , and nice. We appreciate the two bartenders Enrique and Jose so always providing great service. Apart from the staff , the only thing is the food isn’t the best but it is food so please don’t listen to the ungrateful people saying the food was terrible because in the end we were feed.
We will definitely be coming back and we appreciate the entire staff there for making this a great vacation!

The beach area is pretty small compared to puerta vallarta. Everything was so loud I cant figure out how people think the noise is relaxing. The shows at night had the volume excessively loud! Everything else was nice, clean, staff work very hard. The food is just ok.

I went just before the spring break crowd and it was a very cool spot for our group. The branch bar was the spot and all the activities was a nice plus.

One problem we had was we booked three rooms with double beds and the hotel tried to put us in a making room.

Us 30s guys trip for a bachelor party was not going to sleep in the same bed nor were we going to let someone sleep in cot or whatever they had.

So for us, it was just the check-in process that was probably the only negative. I just think it could’ve gone better.

Our fridge didn’t work and we went downstairs to ask to get it fixed and no one ever came up to fix it. Buffet was good. Staff were friendly and nice. No wash rags in our room only big towels. Pool and beach was nice. Overall I would give this place a 8/10.

Friendly/ professional staff, very well maintained property. The food was very satisfactory, and plentiful. All around great times! Our room had a beautiful view of the pool. When exiting the room a stunning view of the ocean and beach. The rooms were large and comfortable (although you will be outside for most of your visit).

My view was of the property and pool. Food was delicious i have to say. I saw some of the shows and they were entertaining. The room was very clean and the best bed i have ever slepted on. I've been to over 40 resorts and this place has the best bed hands down. The spa was nice and the massage was amazing. Overall a excellent place to vacation.

We enjoyed our ocean view. The check-in process was a bit grueling. It took about and hour and then we had to get back in line to get access to our room even though there was only 40 minutes until official check-in time. However, I must give a shout out to the pool activity staff specifically Martin and Danny. They were the absolute best! Their boundless energy and enthusiasm was infectious. Truly the very best part of our stay! Give these guys a raise! They work very hard to make sure that everyone poolside is having a great time! We loved them! The rest of the staff was so friendly and kind and our rooms were always very clean. The food was good too! We never had to wait very long for a table and the staff was terrific and responsive to anything that we might need. The property is very clean and beautiful. The beach was a little small but well-maintained and peaceful.

The resort is older. Check in and Check out was extremely disorganized and inefficient. We waited for 45 minutes to check in and almost missed our ride to the airport because of delayed check out.
They have someone floating with a clip board but that person does nothing for you.
Additionally they advise you that you can only go to the reserved restaurants once so you are basically stuck with the buffet. The food at the restaurants other than the buffet is much better. Just head to a reservation only resto and give the greeter a $5 or $10 USD and they will seat you and you will have a much better meal.

Beach is very small.

Staff is fantastic though. I'm not picky but this is no frills.

My stay was horrible. My room was hot. We asked them to fix the air or move our room at least 3 times and nothing ever happened. The sheets were old and the food at the snack bar was old and disgusting. Also the glasses for the drinks weren’t clean. I will never stay here again

The staff is amazing and the place is very clean. However it is smaller than appears online and there is very little entertainment Barely any music playing even at the 2 bars. There is not a pool swim up bar. The lobby bar is beside the pool but inconvenient and the beach bar isn’t much better. I felt like I was in my own backyard how small the property is.
Also THE ONLY SMOKING AREA is OUTSIDE THE HOTEL PROPERTY. a bench on the sidewalk. but you can request a smoking balcony room for a small daily fee $30 USD per night
If you’re looking for a very low key place with great staff and clean property this place is for you. If you’re looking for any more than that probably not

Ehile the hotel itself is nice, be advised, this is party Central. Every room faced the courtyard so you could not escape the blaring live musical events that happened nightly. So if you have peace and quiet in mind, this place is not for you. Secondly, the customer service was severely lacking. The front desk was always always understaffed. When I went to ask about an item that I lost in the pool area. I had to file a report, come back another day, file a report with a different person and after all of that and 72 hours of trying, no one could even tell me whether my item was turned in. not go back.

The hotel was very clean , the food sucked at all the restaurants and all they wanted was your money since we walked in the door , the front desk staff was slow and they did not even try to accommodate, the security thought they were actual cops lol the water sports agent did not explain anything before purchase I was there for 8 days and they were still asking for me room # then when I needed to extend my stay do to weather they were trying to make me pay more then I actually paid for my original stay never returning would not recommended please stay away

Occidental Costa was a nice stay, rooms were clean, water hot, air cold, staff was extremely friendly, kind & helpful. The resort is smaller, 1 pool, beach is small. I'd say my only negative was there are 4 restaurants
A mexican, Italian, seafood & the buffet. We stayed 6 days, so they said we get 3 reservations for a 6 day stay. You can only make reservation 2 days ahead, not 1, not the day of, it was kind of strange. We did get into all 3, but honestly I wanted to leave the restaurants and head to the buffet each time we actually did from the seafood restaurant. I'm a foodie, but I give alot of grace at all inclusives, (I also was raised by a Mexican grandma) so I think thats why I found the buffet food so comforting. They always had a great selection, good comfort food, breakfast, lunch & dinner, clean, and staff was Sooo friendly. So 4 stars because the reservations issue was irritating. But 5 stars to the resort and staff. The entertainers for the poolside & activities were great. For the price, and a nice calm, pleasant trip I think it was worth every penny. Also not big drinkers so not sure about liquor quality we did gave some mango mezcal drinks, which didnt feel very strong I'm sure it's watered down i had to adk for a few exrra shots of the mezcal, but it was perfect for a cool refreshing frozen drink by the pool for us. Not the biggest, best or most exquisite resort, but cute, clean, and very comfortable!

The staff was the most positive aspect from this stay! The food was good but average for Mexico.The beach was unfortunately subpar due to it's location directly next to the ferry ( the crocodile warning signs because of the Nichupte lagoon nearby were also a bit alarming).
Bar closes at 10:30 so be prepared to go elsewhere past this time.
Room was outdated and the smell was a bit funky. Beds were comfortable though.
This is a good budget friendly resort for a family with younger children but not for adults looking for the Cancun experience (beautiful beaches, nightlife,etc...)

We recently had a 3 week stay in the Occidental Costa cancun. Check in and check out was quick and effortless. The terrace room we stayed in was immaculate and probably recently renovated. Shower was large and had a bench for the ladies. Always had hot water at any time. I found the beds extremely comfortable and the climate control for the rooms was perfect.The entire resort is maintained excellently. House keeping was excellent as well. room was always taken care of and water/beer/softdrinks in fridge replaced daily. I can't say enough about the staff, everyone was very friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome. The food was good and had plenty of options from fresh fruits to salads, pastries, chicken, fish, beef, pork, vegetables. They had a build your own pizza which is cooked in a stone oven as well as burgers, hotdogs, fries for the kids or picky eaters.There is a line up to get into the buffet... but only during peak times.. the line goes quick as the waiters and the staff that seat you are right on top of things to clear a table quick for the next guests. There is plenty of loungers around the pool and beach area. You still may want to get up earlier to get the premium sun locations. The beach area is smaller and we knew that coming there. The shows are held outdoors so it may get a bit noisy if you are relaxing in your room but they shutdown at exactly 10 pm, with the bar closing at 11 pm. This is more of a family and relaxing resort. We loved it!

Slower check in. Room was clean and comfortable but smaller. Did like the limited number of rooms on our floor. The bartender service was a little slow, but they tried hard. The food was marginal most of the time. My wife had a very poor experience at the salad bar with an employee who told her she could not be there only to find out she’d been given express permission to be there. Nice beach area, smaller pool. Good boat traffic kept things interesting.

The experience was terrible. First of all, there was some miscommunication between the hotel and Occidental and we ended up getting additional 40% charge when we checked in. The front desk was not helpful at all. Second, the room there was very old and noisy as it was close to the road. Third, the food there was really meh and the evening shows were out-dated. Lastly, we booked a day trip and they promised one price in USD and ended up charging a much higher price in USD due to some “exchange rate” difference. This was a bad experience and I’m not coming back again.

Where do I begin….The food was terrible and not much of a variety. The bar had only the cheapest liquor available and the drinks all tasted horrible.
The room refrigerator is stocked daily with two Heineken beers but they don’t serve them at the bars which made no sense to me. I thought they would have coronas but I was mistaken.
The beach/swimming area was very small roped off because the hotel is located right by a docking area.
Ive stayed at plenty of hotels in Cancun this was definitely the worst.

The room is the most important part of a relaxing vacation, but the condition of mine was very bad. It was very very old, dirty, and poorly maintained, with broken doors and fixtures. The washroom and bedroom were extremely dark, and overall the room felt neglected. My room was a corner room with a view of the back side of the building, which made it even worse. I communicated my concerns to the staff, but no effort was made to change my room or improve the situation. Although the staff were friendly and food was available, the food quality was disappointing, especially the pasta, which tasted horrible. Compared to my friends’ rooms, which were much nicer, my experience was very disappointing.

The hotel environment is clean and tidy; chaotic when the music is blasting in the pool area for entertainment time, the whole hotel premises is very loud including when you are inside your room trying to rest. The food is good. We liked the specialty Italian. Buffet area has limited choices but enough to fill for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beach is small, there is only a small portion to swim because it's next to the docking/loading area of the ferry to Xcaret excursion. The pool is one huge big thing in the middle of the hotel. Not bad for an affordable vacation as long as you don't expect luxury.

What I like about my stay is thay the bedding was clean.The towels are clean and they smell so good. Also you see lot of staff working on the property. You feel safe on this property. The only thing that I didn't like was the lobby is too small. When I checked into the hotel late at night.There was only one lady at the reception and there were like 30 people wanting to check in. When I asked her, how come there is only one counter open she told me that on mondays, she's the only one who's working there. This was the only drawback on that particular day when I checked in.It was a slow process.

A very loud property.. workers outside early in the morning banging drooping talking loud. To call Room service u will get at least 15 to 20 rings if they answer.. there should be a big sign for women or people who wear makeup that they will be charged $15 for hand towel. I don't know how many people read that but I've never ever heard a disclosure of if you get makeup or something on a towel name perhaps can't be removed they will charge you the customer. Two different occasions the same visit just last week we were there from the 17th through the 27th we had two people try to get in our door and that would be on camera one gentleman was not American that other gentleman was one gentleman that sounded American just had underwear on.. the best server that we have throughout our visit was Natalia there she was epic The food was okay. The seafood tasted like seafood. The desserts looks sweet but very dry seasoning was very off. A lot of repetition in the food and the buffet. But if you're wanting to relax that is not a place if you want to relax by 8:00 or 9:00 after a long day of fun in the sun with friends or family or loved ones the concerts are loud they're at the pool even the staff could not hardly hear all their walkie talkies or the phone when they were answering phones or calling management for whatever reason. It was the most awful experience to be read it so high. Lastly it's really sad when they are good workers there that go above and beyond that alone like natalia

The best thing about this resort is the staff. Friendly, always a smile on their face. Very good team work and they help each other out continuously. I was very impressed by that. The extra curricular activities was a big hit as well. Clean facilities. The restaurants offered amplitude of choices of food yet they were not as good of a quality l was hoping for. Perhaps more authentic Mexican dishes would be beneficial. It seemed more catered to the North American tourism. When l go somewhere foreign l like to indulge in the food of set country, not your hamburger and hot dog diet that l can get at home. Just a suggestion. Otherwise a week well spent. Good weather, mimosas and relaxing.😎

There was nothing comfortable about the room and it was extremely dated. There was drilling going on all day long along with terrible loud music at the pool. It was very hard to relax. The resort is much smaller than I expected, and the food was terrible. The check-in experience was a nightmare. There was no rhyme or reason or organization. People were just walking up to the desk and cutting right in front of everyone and they allowed it. I had to say something. Also when we finally got to the desk, the girl checking us in did not know English so we were not able to communicate anything. Doesn’t make any sense. We ended up leaving and going to a different resort.
