Hands down the absolute best hotel I’ve ever stayed! The staff so kind and accommodating, this should be an example to Marriott, Four Seasons etc as to how a guest should be treated. I will be back, and only wish this were a hotel located in many destinations as it’s the best!

Beautiful hotel offering a 5* experience in central London. Staff were exceptional and the room was immaculately clean and well-provisioned. The bed was very comfortable, linen and towels of a high quality and we were very comfortable. The air conditioning was not hugely effective and quite loud but this did nothing to spoil our stay.

Brown's Remains a Favorite

This was my second stay at Brown’s, and once again, it did not disappoint. The staff is exceptionally knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly—\"no\" is simply not in their vocabulary.

Unfortunately, I fractured my ankle on my first day in London. The concierge was incredibly helpful, recommending a treatment facility and even calling Princess Grace Hospital to ensure I could be seen promptly. Additionally, they thoughtfully assigned us a room near the elevator to minimize the number of steps I had to take.

Despite my injury, I still thoroughly enjoyed London—it may have just slowed my pace a bit!

I love staying at a small hotel where the staff knows your name and remembers your preferences. Brown’s remains my top choice in London!

I was eager to try Brown's for its storied history and excellent location. On the plus side, the restaurants (both Charlie's and the Drawing Rooms) were excellent, as was the concierge service. On the minus side, my room facing Dover Street was so noisy that I had to move because I couldn't sleep. There's a club there that features screaming, outdoor singing and the revving of engines late into the night--and that's during the week. I could still hear the din on the Albermarle side, but at least I managed to get some sleep. For £785 a night, I expect better. I also expect carpeting in the room, rather than plank floors more suited to a log cabin than a fine hotel.

This hotel is awesome! The history, updated decor, staff, bar and food were all fantastic. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The staff was extremely helpful with airport transfers, hire cars, directions and the like. The location is also perfect - steps from Buckingham Palace, Mayfair shopping and parks. Highly recommend!

Our room was bright, tastefully furnished, spacious and comfortable.
Attention to detail is discreet and unparalleled. One senses members of staff been carefully selected and trained and have been empowered to ensure the guest has the best possible experience. The reception staff, concierge and porters were remarkably professional - efficient, intuitive and absolutely charming. Room service breakfast [and delivery] was exceptional (including the gluten-free toast which was delicious (invariably awful worldwide)). Lunch in the hotel dining room was perfect. The hotel car is a welcome addition and takes the pain out of rushed local expeditions. We very much look forward to our next visit.

WiFi dropping CONSTANTLY

What a terrific hotel. It’s just a pity that they don’t have good Wi-Fi. Every time I turn my phone off for a second, the Wi-Fi disconnects. I’m using an iPhone X, it should work seamlessly. I need to reestablish the Wi-Fi connection every single time I used the Internet. It’s incredibly annoying, incredibly annoying, did I say it was incredibly annoying? They should fix this. I am currently experiencing the same problem at the Rocco Forte hotel in Munich. It’s the same story at the Rocco Forte property in Rome. Otherwise I really love these hotels.

It was a quick trip and recommended by a colleague. It was locationally perfect for shopping or eating and visiting some pubs. The service was impeccable, everyone was always wearing a smile and greeting you by name. I also had the gnocchi late at night from my jetlag and it was so delicious. I also made a small request for a change on the menu and the chef was more than accommodating! Top notch service, I hope to stay again but for a longer time!

Brown's Hotel in London UK is a mid-sized property in a fantastic location (especially before Christmas). Staff were first rate and while I did not eat there the choices of restaurants and quality are also excellent. At the same time... I had daily experiences that I would never expect at any hotel especially such a purportedly high quality facility. First off there was a connecting door to another room, at at my side it was not locked. When I mentioned this to the staff the reply was that it was nothing to worry about. When I moved a table to block access it seemed it was something and was properly locked and an apology was left in the room. That was appreciated. Then the toilet would not flush. Fortunately I was out that evening and it was repaired (that happens). The next day I realized the telly didn't work and left that issue for them to resolve after I left. But what really irked me is the request at check in for a credit card IN THE EVENT that I charged something to the room. That is fine but that is not what happened. Since I used a different card I know it was not just on file; a deposit was taken and then refunded at check out. That sounds like the same thing but due to currency rates fluctuating there was a surprise charge on my card. If they are taking the money and then refunding it (sadly so many hotels do that now) then say so. And I've traveled widely but NEVER had to pay for a fluctuation in rates. Shame on the Brown for not being up front.

We stayed At Browns Hotel to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. I mentioned this in passing when we checked in and when we got back from having eaten out, there was a plate of yummy sweet treats in our room, wishing us happy anniversary, a lovely and thoughtful touch.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet, even though it was at the front of the hotel. Great location, a few minutes walks from Green Park tube and in easy reach of the West End. Would certainly stay here again in the future.
The only thing that let it down, was there were no tea making facilities in the room, which was slightly disappointing.

If you book from Expedia, the room will be small

I have the worst experience ever in my life. I have paid >>> GBP per night total of >>>> GBP. The hotel booked me room number 127. The room was so tiny and I was struggling with my bag and it was very noisy. At five o'clock in the morning, my first night, I woke up panicked on something dropped next door. I went out side the room to check the matter, two hotel staff were laughing about it and barely speak English to explain to me the reason of the sound. I couldn't go back to sleep all morning.

In few hours, I went to the front desk to complain, I was told that the hotel is fully booked and no extra rooms are available, but the front desk said he will check availability and inform me, this never happened.

I had an English friend who booked that night (his name is A. AJ.), they provided him a suit in an amount less that the amount I paid.

Next morning the same noise carried on from 5 am until 7 am. I went to check the noise and I found that the room was exactly next to a storage room!!!!!!.

Again, I went to the from desk to complain (for the second time no manager was available) and he said to me : \"this is the problem when you book through websites, you will always get the worst rooms in the hotel\". I was so friendly with him and I explained that I couldn't sleep from the noise and almost begged him to change my room. finally i was shifted to room 318. The Window was facing a wall (my view). The tub was blocked and I couldn't have shower properly.

The afternoon high tea was good and the cocktails at the Donovan bar was great as they have a wide selection of choices. The rooms were clean and in good condition; the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The hotel is rather old and has wooden floorboards which creak beneath your feet - to some this might offer a rustic feel to the establishment. Overall, a comfortable stay...

After having spent a few days in Paris we went back to Brown's for one night before coming home. The room we had booked was not available,and without any fuzz we were up-grated to the nicest suite we have ever stayed in. The staff welcomed us back, and treated us as VIPs. We will go back to Brown's every time we are in London.

After a long flight from Guatemala we arrived at Brown´s around 1:30 pm expecting a long wait for the 3 pm check in time. Not at all, our luggage dissapeared, check in was very fast and in 10 minutes we were in our wonderful room. The staff is so well trained and willing to help that you don´t even have to ask for their service. You never have to wait for a cab, and the concierge even got me a sim card for my phone and installed it for me. The highlight of our stay was having tea in the late afternoon, perfect for an evening when you are not going out for dinner, the sandwiches and petit fours are delicious and never stop coming. Better than the Ritz.

I went for a milestone birthday. The staff was tremendous. They did everything possible and then some. Had afternoon tea twice while staying there. It is an experience everyone should do at least once in a lifetime. In the tea room the pianist played Happy Birthday for me. Yet my greatest surprise was getting back to the room and and a chocolate mousse cake with ganache icing and the words Happy Birthday inscribed was waiting for me. Awesome hotel and my goal is to go niw to their sister residence in Florence right by the Duomo.

Classic hotel in a beautiful neighborhood

Browns has been recently renovated and Rocco Forte has done a beautiful job of updating while maintaining the classic charm of this old hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and the bathrooms are well appointed. We had 2 rooms: one Classic and one Deluxe. The Deluxe room has a seating area, walk in closet and very large bathroom. The Classic is a comfortable size for a couple. This is a busy hotel at times, though the lobby area is small. It is known for its afternoon tea. I highly recommend making a reservation for this in advance as even on week days it is difficult to get a table in the late afternoon for tea. There is a gym in the hotel. It is small but has all the basic machines and weights. The hotel web site has a video cam view of the lobby and gym if you want more details. The location of the hotel is in Mayfair. It is within walking distance of Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Soho, Piccadilly - a lot of the tourist sites around Buckingham Palace and Westminster as well as the high end shopping district. Because it is a \"high rent\" district you will find that dining out in the neighborhood is more expensive than elsewhere. But there are plenty of choices from gastro pubs to Italian and Indian restaurants. On the weekend the neighborhood is very quiet and nice. It is much busier here during the work week.

Loud on back side by Dover street. Party street with many cars and trucks well into the night. Somewhat dated in hallways. Nice size for European rooms. Nicely appointed rooms but not 5 star quality. Poor experience at HIX restaurant. Afternoon tea is better at Claridges.

Brown's Hotel by far exceeded my expectations. The rooms and staff were 5-star plus.

The rooms were beautifully modern, spacious, and comfortable. The bathrooms were large and modern. Uncommon in many 5-star hotels in big cities. The 5-star hotels we have stayed in NYC, Madrid, and Paris were typically tiny and crowded, not Brown's.

The staff were also excellent. They were extra friendly and accommodating, not snobby at all. Unlike many other 5 star hotels in trendy or upscale areas.

Our room was so nice, it was difficult to leave our room to enjoy London.

We arrived by car to be greeted by John who assisted with our luggage. This was no mean feat as we were travelling to our house in Marbella and the car was laden. Checkin was smooth and we were upgraded to a small site with dressing room and office area which allowed us to store our luggage in the room during our stay for the duration of our 2 night stay. The room was perfect and the attention to detail in the bathroom was impressive indeed according to my wife who found a hair bobble in the shower cap box: apparently a must for those with long hair. We had the use of the House Car for a shopping trip to Selfridges and again for an evening engagement at Claridges: thankfully Claridgrs was fully booked or we would have missed the wonderful experience of Browns. Well done and a big thank you to all who made our stay memorable.

We love Browns Hotel! The last time I stayed here was 30 years ago and it has not diminished at all in terms of service or comfort. The staff were terrific and very helpful on a number of occasions -- getting taxis, giving directions, making reservations for high tea -- and it made our stay so nice.

Perfect location, pampering by staff!

Brown's is in are at location in Mayfair. It is near everything and very easy to get around. The staff pampers you and looks put for your every need. The rooms are large and immaculate. We stayed in an executive room which had a desk and a work area. The only issue is the housekeeping staff cleans the room very late unless you let them know otherwise. Two days we got back to the hotel at four and wanted to rest for a while and the room hadn't even been started. The free wifi is really weak. If you want faster and more reliable wifi it will cost you dearly. Concierge service was just ok. I did most of my planning on my own. Having said this, we would definitely stay at Brown's again.

Bring Back Charm

Brown's is a wonderful hotel in a great location in Mayfair. The only negative comment is that, like so many stately old hotels in London, it has lost its way as far as the room interiors. The attempt to modernize falls short and lacks the charm that a hotel of Brown's stature should have.

Perfect Location

Location is great. Walking distance to most attractions. Staff is helpful although they were slow at bringing our luggage upstairs. In overall, the experience was fairly satisfied.

Part of the first floor corridor creaks when one steps on it, otherwise to try and find fault with this hotel would be nothing short of an exercise in churlishness.

Fantastic hotel

Stayed in most of the 5 star hotels in London at some stage , first time here and I can only say I will be back it's for me the best hotel I've stayed in in London well done to all the staff they make you feel great but not in a make believe way just how it should be done
