It's a little outside of Amsterdam, which could be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. We appreciated that it was in a quiet area. The room we stayed in was a little dated, but adequate for our needs. The staff was nice and the area around the hotel was nice.

The hotel is good, the rooms are spacious and the location is good (though, it's far from the city) but in a quiet area.

However, the biggest low is the breakfast, out of 6 days I only had once and it was such a letdown, with a limited variety

The hotel was fine but there wasno food available in the evening except a limited selection of fried foods from the bar. And there was only one option within walking distance and at 7:30 p.m. the restaurant ina bowling alley was full and not interested in accommodating extra diners. That was a definite negative.

We liked mostly everything about the hotel but without a car, it is not the most convenient. Breakfast was wonderful & highly recommended. The biggest gripe was NO iron or ironing board in our room. We had to go to another floor to do that and we found that very inconvenient. However, a very good washer was provided for free along with soap and a dryer as well that was a very temperamental machine. All in all a very good hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff. Would stay here again.

I emailed them to arrange me and my friend room together, very happy they did it for us.
Every thing is good, except they took the toiletries when cleaning the room without refill it , we don't have anything to use it. The hotel have 24 hours reception, very good. But surrounding, nothing attractive,

Friendly modern-chic hotel

Lovely staff and good breakfast which felt filling. Got to love the rooms with the art from the initiative to support disabled artists. Bed was extremely comfortable and the tub was really perfect size for me at my 175cm height. Love the convenient public transport to get to the airport.

Heating is not working. Room is big and there is a good smell in room and in hotel. You hear a big annoying noise from other rooms bathroom. walls are thin and door is not soundproof. Breakfast was great with some spanish food and fresh fruits. Just few sweets.

At first I was going to give this hotel a poor rating because I was so disappointed by the service and location. It is far far from Amsterdam. If you are traveling by car this maybe a fine quiet place to stay but transportation is limited to the city.
I was given a room as I was checking in and the receptionist said we will upgrade you to a room with balcony. I got to the room and there was no balcony. Nearly all other rooms do have balconies. Then went to get some food and asked the another receptionist where to eat for lunch. She gave my a lengthy answer as to how to get to the nearest cafe. I headed out in a stormy windy day to find out the cafe across the street was only open for dinner. I came back to the hotel wet and cold and said that they were closed. She said, oh yes! They only open at 5. Then said there is a tennis club with a snack bar you can eat there. I said please I’d just like a cup of coffee. She said Oh I can do that. We have coffee here. I sat and waited about 15 min then she came and said, I didn’t forget I was just busy, that will be €2.50. I was floored. Later I talked with the manager and she made all things right. This is a nice hotel with big rooms and wonder soaking tubs that I just loved. The rooms with cute little balconies are so lux. Comfortable clean and delicious breakfast. Thank you for a nice stay, love that Dutch hospitality when it is done right.

the hotel was great but far from the central city of Amsterdam, the metro was off and no metro any more, only bus half way and then to metro, the breakfast was lack and cant be more, the room is very big and the bed was great, ac work only cold mode and the heat device didnt help

Stayed here recently for 3 nights. Location is short bus ride from downtown Amstelveen or a bit longer into Schipol or Amsterdam.The hotel was spotless and very comfortable. Huge room so close to Amsterdam was a bonus and I had a large balcony which would be most welcome in the summer time. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection and hot items available. There is no restaurant for dining in the evening but there is a bistro 2 minutes walk away which is linked to the hotel. Both the food and service are very good.
Highlight of my stay was the really friendly staff. They are absolutely lovely and so helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Parking spaces are tight, in-room wifi weak signal & keeps on disconnecting.
4 star hotel should have basic things like slippers, in-room complementary water bottle, toothbrush, comb...only shampoo and body gel were available.

Very nice hotel but remote inconvenient location

Nice hotel, quite, clean, and friendly. Nice breakfast though not a lot of variety. The only pitfall is the remote area, far away from airport. We had to rent a car just for driving from airport to the hotel and back to airport. The inexpensive metro M51 (3 euro one way or 7.50 euro a day) is nearby and convenient to go to downtown. But if metro breaks down as we unfortunately encountered, it would become costly. The local bus 348 costs 6 euro one way.

Considering hotel prices in Amsterdam, this hotel is very convenient for tourists with the car (free parking), who like to walk (10 minutes walking to the train station) and like to save money. The train ride (save and clean) takes 35 min to the Central Station in Amsterdam which is a central to everything.
Room is clean, large (by European standards), breakfast is plentiful.

The hotel room was clean with good amenities provided. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is out of the way, but it was fairly easy to find. Public transport is a ten minute walk away.

Dinner/lunch food options at and directly near hotel were not great personally. Overall, we felt ignored by restaurant staff which made it difficult to ask clarifying questions or add to orders. They also took awhile to seat us and check for our order. Food was decent, dessert was great. Breakfast had multiple options and was good and enjoyable.

Cannot comment on public transport as not used. Hotel easy to locate.

This was the last hotel we stayed in at the end of a 2-week tour of the Netherlands - and we chose well. This is a really good hotel. Clean, modern, very spacious double room with a HUGE double bed and private patio. Air con and tea/coffee making were added bonuses. Good breakfast. Be aware that it takes about an hour to get into Amsterdam Central (walk + Metro).

Excellent hotel between Amsterdam and Schiphol

This is a very nice hotel well situated between Amsterdam center and Schphol. We had a car and did not want to deal with parking in town and this was very convenient. There is a bus in front that goes to the central station and close by is the city center of Amstelveen which has nice restaurants and pubs if you want to eat locally. I think the hotel has bicycles that you can borrow, which I wish we had done.

Nice hotel, a bit far out of Amsterdam.

One of us is vegan and so there was nothing short of dry toast and fruit available, however on request something was cooked using oil instead of butter, also a couple of the mornings we arrived down to eat in enough time and the Bain Marie was practically empty and so then we had to ask for food, when it arrived it wasn't particularly hot. This was a little off putting.

Hotel was clean and well presented. Only down side was the restaurant Nice is not part of the complex so you have to brave the weather if it's not nice and the menu is limited. It would have been nice if there were local shops that we were aware of. Bus 347 runs to Amsterdam or back to amstelveen bus station to swap to the 300 to haarlem which stops at the airport

Well located pleasant and hotel

My wife and myself spent 2 nights at the hotel. The hotel is located at the edge of the Amstelveen suburb of Amsterdam, close to nature. Transit (light rail) to Amsterdam city runs at walking distance, and Schiphol airport is at a 15 min.distance by car. They also operate an airport shuttle. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, beds sleep well, breakfast is European, and staff is helpful and pleasant, . Altogether a most pleasant experience!

I visit my son who lives and works in Amstelveen as often as possible. Rather than sleeping on his sofa bed this time, my husband and I thought that we'd try out the Grand Hotel. We were not disappointed! Our Junior Suite was clean, light and spacious with a large bathroom housing a deep bath tub and seperate shower. The bed was large and possibly the most comfortable hotel bed that we've slept in. We had a small balcony with chairs but unfortunately the view was of a construction site - at least it was quiet while we were there. We eat at the Nice Restaurant next to the hotel on one night which was good. Breakfast in the hotel was perfectly adequate. There is a sport park behind the hotel with bowling and tennis (I didn't try these) but not really anything else to do within walking distance. However, the hotel rents out bikes and there is a very efficient and regular bus service which goes from opposite the hotel. I used this to go into the centre of Amstelveen but it does continue on to Amsterdam. We will use this hotel again!

Very close to a bus stop to the airport. 15 - 20 minute ride to the airport for 5E each. Very large room with balcony. Only our view was of construction next door. Fridge and safe in room. Extensive breakfast with fresh fruit and cheeses included. Only down side was not much to choose from for dining. We ate at the bowling alley, but not too great.

Very nice hotel. Staff was great and helpful. The food in the bar was great but expensive. We got two cheeseburgers that came with a salad and fries. They were 17.50 Euros each. The menu was written in Dutch so he read it to us. We never dreamed it would be so expensive. Super clean and comfortable rooms.

i have always wanted to stay at this hotel but with a house in Amstelveen it was not practical until my house was having renovations. the parking is easy which is important in this town. also an elevator also importatnt. the breakfast was quite nice and the staff very helpful and friendly.

A nice hotel in Amstelveen

The hotel can be reached from Central station by the metro GVB stop at Spinnerij and walk about 10 minutes or take the bus 170 stop at Nesserlaan in front of the hotel. Your GVB ticket can not be used in the Amstelveen area. My suggestion is buy \"I amsterdam\" card.
Staffs were helpful for directions and places to see and visit. Breakfast was excellent. Room is big and nice with many electrical outlets.
