The property was poorly maintained the worst experience, not clean, pool was not open, no blankets, no towels no soap, no remote control for the air condition etc.
The doors for the room did not lock properly and the windows did not closed or locked correctly.
This hotel should not be allowed to be open to the public.

I was so looking forward to this stay. It was quite expensive and I even paid extra for a balcony room. The staff was helpful enough but, the balcony (3rd floor) was not worth it. the balcony was so narrow you could not put a chair out on it. The room was very noisy. Through 3am each night, there was \"partying\" outside with music, laughter, loud talking. It was endless; an extremely noisy location. Stay somewhere else. The pool was out of commission. We had no notice the pool was unavailable the 4 nights we were there.

Unfortunately the pool was closed (which was sadly the reason we chose this hotel) the location was great though. There is no coffee maker in the room which was also a bummer for us, they could make an espresso at the front desk area. The hotel is very open and people come in and walk through a lot, we checked in early and they held out stuff which really meant just putting it in a room that no one watched and people could have come in and gone through it taken it, that was a little weird. Beds and pillows not good but the hotel was super cute and rustic so we did enjoy

Wonderful location, beautiful hotel & restaurant. However, if you are seeing the primary photo & think you can use the pool, you are wrong. There should have been a disclaimer stating the pool was out of service & will be for quite some time. Instead, we got there to a sign that read the pool was undergoing \"cleaning\" - yet there was a whole ass renovation being done! And yet the guy at the desk told us he thought the pool was potentially going to be done in time for one of the days we would be staying. Sorry but anyone with eyes could tell the pool was FAR from being done & was under a total renovation. I do not appreciate the BS this place spewed to us & the misrepresentation of the property. We paid a lot of money for a location that did NOT meet our expectations.

Great location, half of the staff was very friendly (Brian the bartender, the cook, one of the front desk girls upon check in, the cleaning crew). Unfortunately the pool was closed and we were not notified...they are making improvments, possible adding an awning, which resulted in a lot of banging all day. I think it will be a perfect stay once the pool is open again.

The old building is exceptionally charming, the view from the rooftop is amazing, and the location for walking Old San Juan is excellent. The amenities and services are pretty spartan (no in room coffee, no extra towels, limited lighting, no way to adjust A/C), but the price is commensurate, so overall we were very pleased with our stay.

We absolutely loved the room! It was so spacious and the view was wonderful. Also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and terrace. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable bed. It was unfortunate that the pool was being refinished while we were there. It was right on top of our room and the noise woke us up both days we stayed. But we understand renovations need to be done. The elevator was a bit concerning, just due to how much it moved upon entering & exiting, along with the loud creaks and groans.
All in all, we enjoyed out stay and would stay again!

I loved staying in the old town . Great food right next door . I mean we couldn’t find a bad plate of food in the area . Lol . . Definitely, walkable and uber accessible. The little pool was down for maintenance and we were highly disappointed. Rooftop was really big. All in all , I loved it . And we found a pool eventually. I saw the hotel cat once . :/ . She was cute and chubby .

The door barely locked and had windows on it so you could see in, with a direct few of the bed. Very old, not kept up. Walls were super thin so we could hear everything. Felt dirty. No washcloths or cups. We showered with our shoes on, it was so bad.

Room was ok, and view was great! They staff wasn’t as friendly. The WIFI would work in the lobby but not in my room. Wish they would offer a larger amount of toiletries, or alert us that we should walk with our own. I would give it a 3.5 if it allowed me because the room was spacious and comfortable.

There was no forewarning that there is no parking at the hotel. We are arrived late at nightand then had to park the car by the port and walk all the way home and very sketchy area for 12 minutes back to the hotel. They should disclose that when you book the hotel room. The air-conditioning in the room are horrible. It was hot and muggy all night. I could not sleep. They claim it’s because it is an old building and they control all the air conditions with one remote at the front desk, it never got cold in our room. The coffee at the desk was disgusting and the attendant at the time was inept had no idea how to work the coffee machine. It was a waste of money and disgusting. There was no hot water to take a shower with. No communication with the staff.

I loved the charm this Old San Juan hotel has: high ceilings, it's floor tiles, it's rooftop terrace. And what to say about it's location. Staff was helpful.
My only observation of our room, is that I didn't appreciate that there's no separation between the bathroom area; both toilet and shower are right next to the bed without separation.

If you have a rental car parking is a bit challenging in the area, off site and $25 a night. Great walking location to shops and restaurants- its a basic accommodations hotel- no toiletries kitchen is big, although a dishwasher it was wash own dishes. One or two nights is ok- Id be disappointed if staying any more then that. Check in was easy and smooth, very friendly service and directions to off site parking.

Clean rooms, great location, solid hotel for an old building in the old city. The A/C in the room does NOT have a remote - you have to go to the front desk and ask to borrow a remote (if someone else hasn't already), adjust the temperature, and return the remote immediately. Hotel could also use more clear signage when looking for the place since Google maps is off by about a block. Also, if you are driving, the area is a nightmare to stop and load/unload bags, and the nearest public garages are about 7 blocks in either direction with lots of cobbled streets and steep hills if you're planning to drag your suitcase behind you.

The place was ok, service good, but you have to wait for them because sometime they are not in the reception. Also, to change you ac temperature at your room, you have to go all the way down to the reception and ask for the remote control, yes, you read it good, you have to go to the receptionist and ask for temperature adjustment, they go to your room and then they change it for you, so even if you are hot or cold at 2am you need to get in touch with them and then they go to your room. Not happy about it, first time in my 25 years staying in different hotel that I need a person to go into my room (privacy) and change it for us. All other things the hotel was ok.

Well kept for a hotel in a historic old building. Room was clean. Staff are friendly - Bryan at the bar was great. Very small plunge pool on rooftop - needs some upkeep of the tiles surrounding the pool out it was refreshing with a great view of the harbor. A rooftop bar would be great - the is a vending machine with beer, water, soft drinks which did the trick but a full bar during peak times would be nice. Great location in OSJ but be aware that there are a lot of hills to climb when exploring and then getting back to the hotel.

Very nice room, clean and comfortable. The staff was incredible in the beginning but after we checked in, it was a ghost town. My room was HOT even with the air conditioning running. I went to the front desk and there was nobody to be found. I text the number I was given to deal with any issues and till this day, I can see nobody has even read it on WhatsApp. We were told there was a bar on the top terrace, this was exciting but when we made it up there, there was no staff. Again, a ghost town. But you can buy beer from a vending machine 🤔🤔🤔 no thank you. We just went out. Overall, it was worth it, but the lack of staff and customer service was poor.

The room was good but there was not any kind of a view. The biggest complaint was that it was too cold and you can't adjust the temperature in the room. I tried calling the front desk several times. No answer. Went out and found the clerk to adjust the temperature. The terrace view restaurant has minimal breakfast items and no lunch or dinner service.

The property is lovely, staff is kind, our room was spacious and very clean. Level of privacy is minimal, you can hear others within the property. The television would not connect to their WIFI, we asked the front desk evening staff and they gave us the same WiFi information, so nothing they could do. We chose it because we like to watch television while in the room.

The Staff were wonderful. The sun deck and pool were wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfasts. There is no hot water so showers were very uncomfortable. They won't leave the control for the A/C with you and in #224 it was inconsistent, sometimes too cold / then to warm, but mostly cold. We had staff adjust it twice but that didn't help. We both left there very tired after three nights of poor sleep. So much potential for this quaint small hotel but they fall short.

First room (suite) with windowless bedroom and no view at all from the living room. Changed after paying 100 USD for a better view.

The in house room change was handled very poorly. Check out at 12:00, moved luggage to luggage storage, check in at 15:00... A bit of good will and organization would have handled that better!

The new room had a very nice view but hardly would qualify for a suite. It was a single room with integrated bathroom section, a table, two chairs and a comfortable seat. Not a problem as I am a single traveler.

The big problem: You do not get a control unit for the AC. They request You to call reception to adjust the AC. The front desk staff comes then to Your door with the only AC remote control of the hotel as they claimed?! If they do not answer the phone You have to walk down to reception from the 3rd floor (happened to me once)...

Just to mention: I am a repeat guest in that property since 2013 as I live close in the British Virgin Islands.

Generally pleased overall, but could do with some improvements. We had a suite with a sofa in the first room. However there was no TV where you would like to sit. The TV is in the bedroom only. I also hate that the toilet and shower have glass doors straight of the bedroom, so it can all be seen from the bedroom and even the sitting room. You can hear everyone's toilets flushing and people talking in other rooms. There was no control for the A/C, so it was like a freezer the first day, so had to get the receptionist to change the settings. The second day the A/C had been completely turned off, so it was too warm the following night. Breakfast was okay, but you have to take whatever you are given, absolutely no choice. They didn't have any normal tea, or milk for coffee. Luckily I liked omelette and dry bread. You also cannot get down the narrow street in a wide vehicle, and it's cobble stoned. So it's tricky if you have a lot of luggage. It's also at nearly the top of a fairly steep hill. Taxis are expensive, but Uber is very reasonable and quick. I would stay again if was ever likely that I would return to Puerto Rico, as I found the staff very nice and friendly and it wasn't over priced.

Checking in took a very long time. The gentleman at the desk was very disorganized, couldn't find my reservation but then had it sitting right infront of him. I was not impressed that I had to pay $2 for a bottle of water at check in. A complimentary first bottle would be a nice touch. The room itself was nice and cold , the bed was not overly comfortable, but not the worst I've slept on. The bathroom was in pretty rough shape. Broken tiles, and dirty around the sink area. The floors felt dusty on bare feet.
The breakfast on the terrace was VERY good. I was very impressed and the view was really nice.
The pool was nice, but was in need of some repair as there was lots of missing tiles.

Overall it was a decent experience, a little maintenance could go a long way to make this place great!
