The room is spacious and nice. There were 3 of us and the sleeper couch was not comfortable at all.

The water takes a while to warm up so the shower was a little on the chilly side.

The jacuzzi was dirty and didn't use which was a disappointment.

The shuttle was out of service. The Lyft was reasonable $5 to $10 for 3 of us to get to Old San Juan and the cruise port.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They let us keep our luggage there after check out. They were there late for check in as well.

The staff truly made this stay special for our family. From the moment we arrived, they were consistently attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. Every interaction felt personal, and they were always quick to help with anything we needed. Traveling with family can come with its challenges, but their positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile made everything feel easy and comfortable.

Hector was our very first interaction, and he set the tone right away. He connected instantly with my wife through her Puerto Rican roots, while also making me feel just as welcomed and included. It created this perfect balance where she felt right at home and I felt like I was getting an authentic, fun introduction to the culture. He brought a great sense of humor and personality that left us with a few moments and phrases we’ll definitely be bringing home with us.

They also gave us a perfect recommendation for a spot to eat in Old San Juan that ended up being one of our favorite experiences, and we loved being able to enjoy the steakhouse just a few floors above our room. Those little touches made a big difference.

We’re very grateful for the experience they created for us and would absolutely stay again.

Beautiful looking hotel but the looks deceive the actual condition of the rooms. Cheap construction materials used. The stove did not work (& others I spoke to said the same). Location was misleading as well. However the staff was amazingly helpful, knowledgeable and kind. We wanted to take the golf cart to the other side of San Juan & walk back from there but there were never enough employees available to take anyone anywhere. And lastly when it said walk to cruise port - make sure it’s the port you are departing from as they cannot drive to Pan Am ports.

We stayed only 1 night to be closer to the airport. The drive to the airport was about 20 minutes. We were able to park just outside the hotel, but there were limited spaces. The hotel room was clean and the sofa bed in room 4 was very comfortable for a sofa bed. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash and towels, but no soap. Room 4 is a 1 bedroom apartment and the kitchen looked well stocked. Overall it had an upscale feel.

Friendly welcome on arrival (in the morning, due to travel plans).

Rooms not available, but area provided for our bags and coffee made available. We explored town until the 4pm checkin.

Room was clean, very spacious and offered all neccesary amenities (microwave, cooktop, plates etc) except in room coffee supplies. The gym is tight! Not sure I could be comfortable working out in there.

Would recommend this hotel and would use again if we ever find ourselves back in SJ.

The staff here were very friendly and helping whenever needed. Best part is how close it is to San Juan. The neighborhood it's in can be sketch for some people, but try to believe me, you are good.

The condition of the room could've been better. Spots on the couch, unkept rug, floor tiles lifting, ceiling peeling. None of it was eggrecious to a point we didn't feel comfortable, but more so details missed that can be improved. You also don't have a view out to anytign but an empty lot with graffiti on an abandoned building. BUT if you're looking for somewhere to simply sleep and change clothes, this is perfect. Lol honestly it's a very ok, 3/5, 5-6/10 place. You'll only be disappointed thinking you're staying at a Marriott.

BRING YOUR OWN WASH CLOTHS AND TOWELS. Lol they run out fast.

I recently stayed at Hotel Puerto Valdés and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.

At check-in, I specifically asked what perks were available with my Expedia Silver status, and I was offered a late checkout. I confirmed this as my selected benefit, so I planned my morning accordingly.

However, the next day, my party was unexpectedly forced out of the room at 11:00 AM with no acknowledgment of the previously agreed late checkout. This was both frustrating and inconvenient, especially since it had already been discussed and confirmed. I had to call via WhatsApp since that’s the only way they respond, and was told it wasn’t their problem before they hung up on me.

To make matters worse, we went to the front desk to get clarification and request a receipt, but no staff was present. We waited about 10 minutes, despite the hotel advertising 24/7 front desk service. This lack of availability and support only added to the frustration.

Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. Communication was poor, and the service did not match what was promised. I hope the hotel improves its guest communication and ensures staff availability moving forward.

Our flight arrived in San Juan at 1:00 am. at 11:30 pm the hotel sent a message that due to a problem in Old San Juan they had no water pressure. It was too late to find a new hotel and the hotel didn't offer a free cancellation option. They also said they had no hot water because they use solar hot water and blamed the recent weather. We had booked 12 months in advance to stay 1 night before a cruise. We never would have booked a hotel with no hot water. We wanted to shower off the airplane germs and board the cruise clean with a fresh shave. We paid $250 total for the hotel and they gave us back $75, When we booked the hotel we just wanted a safe and comfortable place to sleep and get ready for the cruise. We didn't need ocean front or a pool because we planned on spending 9 total hours at the hotel. We were very disappointed we didn't know about the solar water and chance of no hot water when we booked. We stayed in February. The hotel itself was very clean. The management was very nice and kind and tried to be helpful. I just wouldn't stay again because we will always be flying in for just one night before a cruise and want to be able to shower. A hot shower is very important to us to feel clean. We've acttualy never even stayed at a hotel with no hot water but we live in the USA and the hotels all have hot water there.

The hotel is centrally located within Old San Juan and walking distance to the beach. El Condado is a short Uber ride away. Within a block there is a Bakery and Cafe for delicious coffee and treats. Most of all the staff is exceptionally accommodating and does it’s best to make you feel welcome.

Our room was clean and very nice. That’s the only reason that I raided it a three star. The area it is in there is really nothing around unless you take a cab or you don’t mind walking into town they said they had a shuttle to the cruise port. That is false. We had cold water for showers at the best we could get it to lukewarm. The Jacuzzi upstairs on the roof the jets all had green on the vents, which is not healthy. They also did not have a shuttle to take you into town or the beach so make sure you have plenty of money for cabs unless you don’t mind the walk. The area right around the hotel is very rundown. We did walk and see the memorial park on our way into town. That was very nice. The staff were very friendly, but depending upon who you talk to you got different stories but as I said, our room was very nice. We booked this specifically so that we could go to the beaches. We knew we had transport to the pier and it would take us into town. None of that happened.

Hector and Malanie were exceptional in ensuring we had an amazing stay. Their hospitality is top-notch and they always made sure my daughter and I were taken care of. They recommended wonderful dining experiences as well as activities for the two of us. The hotel is gorgeous. My daughter and I ended up in the penthouse suite which was divine, but every room looked amazing. I am on my way to the airport to return home but I already want to turn back to spend one more night at Hotel Puerto Valdes. Thank you Hector and Malanie (wishing you luck in school, you’re so close to graduating with a journalism degree) for being such amazing people. I will miss you both.

The staff is very friendly, the rooms clean.however, there was no hot water during our stay; the first room had water pouring in thru a light fixture in the ceiling. We packed up all our things and were moved to the penthouse suit. Again, no hot water. Again, the television would come on by itself during the night, till I unplugged it. Attempting a cold bath in the jacuzzi, I was met with a torrent of black bits of ? From the jets.Tried heating water on the stove top for a warmer bath- stove top not working either. Bathroom door could not be closed, and the elevator seemed to have mechanical problems- fortunately not while we were in it. Tons of room for a family of four, great comfortable bed & 2 very comfortable sofa beds, had a full kitchen, large bathroom, & jacuzzi tub. They even helped us find some fun restaurants and have other great advice. The rooms were also amazing, in my opinion it's the perfect room for a small family. We notified the property in advance that we would be arriving around 1:00 a.m. on Boxing Day and a reassuring email stated that staff would be available to check us in. However, front desk was completely unattended. We were instructed to call or text a number; texts went unanswered, and when someone finally arrived,were immediately told that we would not receive any Expedia status perks and were assigned Room One. The room is located directly behind the front desk and lobby,making it extremely noisy.Accessing the room was an issue, requiring multiple attempts before the key worked. While the room was large and included a kitchen and living area, it was poorly maintained. The laminate flooring in the bedroom was buckling, and the safe initially did not work.The most serious issue was that the door to the room did not lock. This was confirmed the following morning when we left for brunch. When we reported this to the front desk, the staff member on duty, Hector, was dismissive and rude, offered no apology, and showed no concern, simply stating, “This is a safe place.” When asked how he would feel staying in a room that didn’t lock, he shrugged and said his personality was “just like that.”Due to the room’s location and lack of insulation, sleep was extremely difficult both nights because of constant lobby noise. Not to mention our room was not made up. Despite booking six months in advance and staying during the holidays, we received no upgrades,no perks, and no verbal apology

I was very disappointed with my stay. The room was extremely outdated and not clean, with water leaking from the bathroom light. It was located in the basement and had an awful smell. The hot tub was in poor condition, barely had enough water, and was not properly maintained. I paid extra for a balcony, but it was in terrible shape and far from what I expected. The staff was not very pleasant at first, although they seemed friendlier once my friends arrived (they had a much nicer room).

If you plan to stay here, I strongly recommend requesting a mezzanine or penthouse room, as those seem to be much better.

First off, we messaged the hotel a few days in advance for a late check and when I messaged on check in day I was told the hotel was full and that we couldn’t. Also, we booked the penthouse which seemed ok until you learn the restaurant is right next to your room and the restaurant thinks it’s a night club. Or when the fire alarm goes off from the kitchen smoke. It’s a shame because the people are nice and the location is good so we gave 3 stars for that

Staff were very helpful keeping us from getting a parking ticket. The room we stayed in was very clean and met our need for one night but unfortunately we would not return. This building is a renovated storage building in the Old San Juan port area. The area does not feel safe for walking after dark. Additionally, if you’re a light sleeper you may find the noise keeping you up into the wee hours.

There were no hand towels or wash clothes provided for the bathroom and kitchenette. There was also no coffee maker but the front desk clerk did bring one up promtply upon request.
Aparently all water heating is done with solar so the water never did get hot, and in the morning there was not even warm water; makes for a miserable shower.

Very modern and clean. We stayed in the penthouse that is extremely spacious. Attentive staff and welcoming.

The hotel appeared to be under construction and the room was half finished. It was in a bad location with no place to eat in the hotel or within walking distance. Very expensive for what it is. Do not recommend.
