I was honestly a little disappointed in this place. As soon as I got into my room, it looked a lot smaller and dingier than what it looked like online. The walls are so thin you can hear every conversation going on above and next to you, which made it really uncomfortable when I could hear the couple next to me yelling at each other and making racist jokes. The room also didn’t have a fridge which would have been nice to be able to put leftovers in but it’s whatever. The bed was comfortable and AC worked. Overall it was okay but I probably wouldn’t stay here again. The staff was very nice though. If you have a later flight, they don’t have an extra area to hold baggage at, so just be careful. The staff was lucky enough to take mine even though they didn’t have any space behind the desk, so that was nice.

The room was a little smaller than we thought but everything was clean, up to date, and cozy. The tv comes with a Roku and theres a sleep sound machine by the bed too which I thought was a nice touch. For one night it was pretty good :) I would stay again

Front desk staff was distracted while I was waiting to ask a question ( the FD was on her cell) the girl that was helping someone over the phone try getting her attention a couple times; it took a couple of attempts for FD to realize I had been standing there.

Pros: quiet room on the back side of hotel. Shower was great; a large \"rain shower\" type shower head with good water pressure. Front desk staff were all very friendly.

Cons: it's on the edge of the tenderloin district, not a great neighborhood. Feels a little sketchy at night walking around. The room had a very faint odor, as if a prior occupant had a pet that peed on the carpet or something. Kept the window cracked open our entire stay for fresh air and to dissipate the odor.

The rooms are small of course but very tastefully decorated and smartly furnished. The common area is great. We grabbed a cappuccino from there every morning. The location is awesome, 10 minutes from Union Square and China town. I’ll definitely come back and stay again.

Only bunkbeds in the room, a very very small room, no tv, no table. The only reason we stayed here was the location, we had a show booked at Curran Theatre and this hotel is only a few minutes of walking there.

We booked the quadruple bed room since we were taking a family trip to San Francisco.

I'll start with what was good--we felt safe once inside since the doors are locked and require the staff to let you in or a keycard to gain entry. There was a communal kitchen area to get ice, water, and coffee/hot chocolate. The beds were small but comfortable. There were storage lockers under the beds to store things, which was a blessing since the room was very small. The location is good for using public transport, as it is close to the Powell street station and a Muni bus stop.

The bad? The room was definitely not large enough for 4 people. One of our party found an old bag of chips stuffed in between the wall and the mattress of their bed, indicating that it had been a while since the sheets had been changed/cleaned. The bunk beds were supposed to have lights in them, but only half of them had bulbs. There was a definite odor, and it was not a pleasant one. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. This is located near the edge of the Tenderloin district, and you will see evidence of that when you step outside.

All in all, this hotel reminded me of staying in hostels in Eastern Europe in my 20s. The neighborhood is not safe for families walking with luggage and young children and the rooms listed as family rooms are not large enough to accommodate even a small family of 4. If you're traveling solo or in a small group, maybe. Family? Wouldn't stay again.

Great place to stay if you’re only really looking to stay here during the night. I will say if you plan on leaving early and coming back late be careful around the neighborhood because there are a lot of questionable people. The hotel its self is really good and i never felt unsafe. There are kitchen and laundry amenities available and while i did not use the laundry, i did put my stuff in a communal fridge and they were safe.
Overall, i recommend it if you’re really only planning on sleeping here.

- also note that there are no windows in the rooms (at least not mine) that face outside

Hotel is in a busy area with Homeless 2 blocks down. So be aware of your surroundings. Maybe this is normal for a busy city??? Upon entering security locked door- Nice Front Desk Staff and Clean Small Lobby. You can use stairs or Elevator a PLUS!! Room was very small, sheets were tough- bed not too comfortable but good enough. This is also a HOSTEL so be prepared for that- The good thing about it was there is 24/7 Coffee in community kitchen and extra bathrooms in 2nd floor hallway. Housekeeping girl was always on her phone so rooms were not cleaned as requested. BUT overall a FAIR stay!

I didn't prepay for my stay and after a warm welcome back(my prior stay being 8 months or so), I mentioned not prepaying; when she asked me why? I said, \"I don't know, I wasn't sure if I was going to stay here or somewhere else, but I don't even know why I bother, I always find myself back here.\"

Appreciated the early check in around 11 or so, after a very early morning of travel. Usually have a larger room, but considering the time of check in I wasn't going to ask otherwise. If you want a bit more space book a king room for not much more, I think I forgot and booked a queen this time.

Some of the furnishings are becoming a bit worn down and the hotels while offering roku tvs, no longer offer access to roku or other streamers. Hulu did work, it may have been an issue with that particular TV, but it wasn't the most pressing issue when I just wanted to freshen up.

Everytime I pass through the lobby/check in or check out, I feel appreciated as a returning guest. My requests are always met when I stay at Found and the warm service always reminds me that I \"found hotel\"as I was told by one staff member when I first stayed a few years ago. A prime Union Square location coupled with comfortable rooms and a great staff is why I always find my way back.

This hotel is in an incredible location, close to BART and the F line, which makes getting around the city very easy! The front door is locked at all times and the front desk staff is very friendly. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated my time at this hotel!

It was quiet and comfortable, but very tight quarters for the two-bunk room. The hotel door is locked and a sign says to knock, but I was stuck outside at 10 pm when I arrived until someone came to the front desk and heard me. They could use a bell that alerts a staff-member who steps away. It’s good for a cheap and comfortable stay.

The hotel heating did not work in all 3 rooms we were switched to, we spent most of our time moving rooms and we were only there for one night. The manager gave us back half the price of the room and allowed us to stay past check out so we could explore the city. Although I feel like it should have been free because it was so uncomfortable due to the room temperature. The space heater did not help because of the ventilation of the rooms and one room even had a broken window. We were offered a complimentary stay however it was limited until the end of year and I would not go back in the winter without proper heating.

Pricing is good. Neighborhood gives access to restaurants and shops within walking distance. Front desk is friendly.
Rooms are clean, hallways and staircases need carpet upgrade or deep clean.
like the communal kitchen with water, coffee and a fridge. Very much hostile mode.

The room configuration was different than shown in the picture. It was L shaped so very limited space to move for 4 people. No view from the window other than another wall. Very noisy as well. My daughter dropped her phone on the side of the bed and it was almost impossible to recover because the bed was so tight to the wall

The proximity to every possible public transit option made this a perfect home base for our 5-night trip. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room looked and smelled clean, our only issue was with some glitchy light switches — but nothing too frustrating. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others wanting simple and convenient accommodations.

Great location, with public transport just a short walk away. The area feels safe and clean, which I really appreciated.
The staff were super helpful and always willing to make things happen.
The common area is a total lifesave, I’d honestly choose this hotel just for that space.
It’s a hidden gem in San Francisco, whether you’re here for tourism, business, or conferences.

We had a nice quick trip. The location is right on the edge of a rougher area of SF, and we did have a homeless individual follow us inside, though police responded quickly and removed them. The 2nd floor has a pleasant lounge area with free coffee and tea, which was a nice perk. If you’re a light sleeper, I would avoid a room on the 2nd floor, as we could hear music from the restaurant/bar below until about 2 a.m.

The room was too small for 4 people. There was no space for our laguadge and we had to keep the laguadge in door because we had no space for laguadge. Living in that room was literally like living in a cage. Also there were many homeless people all around that area the entire time we were feeling unsafe.

The room was okay, but with 4 people it was definitely cramped. The 4 person room is very very small, there is barely room for two people, but we didn't really mind since our stay was very short. The receptionists were kind but the hotel amenities like slippers, toothpaste etc were limited. It's in the tenderloin, which makes the location very sketchy, but for the price in such a city, I guess you get what you paid for.

Very basic, no amenities (not even a water bottle or glass cup) in the room. Room smelled musty, like stale cigarettes. Rooms are dingy, in need of fresh paint, furniture was chipped. Didn’t replace washcloths, qtips etc. Was gouged at $800+ per night due to Microsoft convention. All shortfalls were amplified due to price but wouldn’t stay here again.

The property itself was well kept, clean, and the staff was polite and attentive (KUDOS).

#1) If you're an adult, the bunk beds my not work for you. I'd avoid it

#2) The neighborhood gets pretty dicey once you head towards Market Street. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS.

#3) This property did NOT have refrigerators in the rooms so you may wind up putting yourself in danger if need to hit the convenience store for snacks. The neighborhood gets rough when you hit the corner
