The room is very old and unclean, a lot of mosquitoes, we switched our room due to mould and humidity in old one, new one not better , imagine bathroom with no vacuum fun , bathtub stained, getting seat at beach impossible, people book with towels their seat 6 am , totally unacceptable, nice restaurant like flame are already booked despite we tried the first minute we checked in

The room overall was pretty clean, but there were rusted fixtures, and the sliding door for the bathroom kept getting stuck and coming off the track. There was a small infestation of bugs near the minibar as well. The pool was nice and the staff were helpful. There were not many Dominican food options available in the buffet or the a la carte restaurants, which was disappointing.

Okay just being very honest here … you can take my word or see for yourself … first I did this trip for my 16 yr daughter.. wen I arrived to check in I let them know that it was her bday and I wanted the room decorated or w.e they bring .. they did not do that , food wasn’t too good had to uber eat :( the rooms are extremely far u have to wait for a golf cart . Pool chairs were all full u have to wake up at 7am to claim a chair , staff in the buffet had a attitude.. u can’t take food out the buffet to eat in peace u have to eat inside where is overly crowded and loud I give this experience 4 out of 10 …

This is a mega resort—something like 30,000 people in all resorts combined which is gigantic.

Pros: great beach, pools and amenities. À la carte restaurants are great (not 5 star, but great). Buffet has tons of choices and is okay/good. Tons of things to do. Trams are excellent and staff is good.

Cons: Beach/pool chairs are all reserved by people by 7am….so stupid and really takes away from the enjoyment. Hotel needs to not allow this/remove towels. Hygiene of buffet is not great, so much cross contamination and I can imagine you could get sick from serving spoons.

The rudest staff in all my travels… it actually became comical. I was starting to think we was having a Ed Debevics diner experience. It was weird. I can count on one hand the staff that was pleasant to deal with. I can comment any further because the staff left such a negative impression. I would never recommend anyone to this resort. and boring!! Along with the miserable staff there isn't much happening at this resort. Never again.

Hands down the best experience I have ever had at an all-inclusive resort! The staff is incredible and treats you as more than guests, they treat you as family. From the moment we checked in (at 4am due to flight delays), we were greeted with enthusiasm and welcomed by Markos, who continued to light up our days our entire stay! The entertainment staff are also amazing and very personable, as well as all of the drivers of the shuttle throughout the property! That was an unexpected amenity that we really appreciated. Our room was newly renovated and cleaned to perfection each morning, and all of the common areas were well kept! The pools throughout the property are just beautiful and equipped with poolside and swim-up bars. There are so many dining, shopping, and recreation options with there being 7 resorts on one large property, I could have stayed for weeks and not run out of things to do. Will definitely be coming back!

The staff was not helpful or friendly. They also try tricking us to attend a meeting to buy like time share. We were only allowed 2 dinners at their restaurants. The buffet was always over crowded, food was cold, service there was horrible!!! Plus long lines to get in. Poor bartender service everywhere we went. The golf cart service was horrible. The drivers pretended not to see us most of the time. We left a day early.

This was a great vacation. The rooms were clean all of the service was amazing food in the buffet was good. Lots of variaty you could stick with items your comfartable with or try new things. My only complaints. Using the app was very clunky. And whats with having to look into weather or not you can get room service. I get charging an extra fee or something at different tiers but to not allow you to order at all?

I recently stayed 11 days at the Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana. The building in this area is quite old probably 30 years old and need to be renovated. Unfortunately there was many mosquitoes and nats in my room. Best to upgrade to Esmeralda or Aquamarine because these areas are newer and the staff is more attentive. Had a bad encounter over at the check in area by this employee Mr. Jorge. The check in staff at Lobby #1 were not very nice and they didn’t foo up on certain requests.

Me encanta el lugar. Somos de los primeros clientes de este complejo, cuando abrieron el primer hotel.
Esta vez nos quedamos en el Grand Punta Cana y lo unico que me disgusto, fue la musica con lenguaje soez en el area de l piscina en donde habían menores. Entiendo eso no debe pasar por que ese y Fantasia aceptan menores. Todo lo demás fue excelente.

Todo excelente. Mi unico complaint es que dejan fumar en areas en donde hay personas. Me siento en una mesa en el lobby en donde es area de no fumar y todos alrededor del area fumando. Le pido que prendan el abanico del area para que sacaran el humo y no lo prendieron. No puedo estar en area de fumar por capricho, es por condición medica.
Otra cosa que entiendo inaceptable es que permitan musica con leguaje obsceno en la piscina de niños. Entiendo debe haber mayor respeto a ellos.

We had 5 days of issue after issue. Our room had a massive leak from the ceiling, flooding our room 3 times. Each time they would come to “fix it” and hours later it was pouring through the ceiling again. We had two bedroom/bathroom suite and the second bathroom shower was unusable and the first bathroom had double sinks with only one that worked, those sort of defeated the purpose of paying for a suite. They couldn’t move us due to over booking the property but gifted us a fruit basket and some champagne for our inconvenience.

The buffet food wasn’t good, it was cool in temperature, no matter what you got and the à la carte restaurants were impossible to book, for a party of 2 or 4. However, we did make it to Tequila and it was wonderful. Refueled us after barely eating for a few days.

The drinks were mid (typical resort quality) but the bartenders were SLOW and the lines were unbearably long.

The grounds weren’t nicely kept, There was an abundance of trash everywhere.

The beach was the highlight, it is what tropical vacation dreams are made of.

We stayed at this resort from February 10th to February 28th. The resort is huge and very crowded. We had to wait in line to get to the buffet. The food was very good and varied, but the service left much to be desired. The rooms are large and clean, but what was surprising was the lack of drawers and doors on the cabinets. And the most annoying thing was that to get a spot by the pool or on the beach, you had to be there no later than 7 a.m. And even then, you weren't guaranteed to get one. There was no one there, but all the sun loungers and chairs were already covered with towels.

Property was clean, staff was a mix between friendly and rude. The food was horrible, us and our friends all had stomach issues for 4-5 days. The all inclusive was very miss represented as only 1 type of beer was included and the liquor selection was limited. I don’t believe domestic beers and base level alcohol should have been a up charge. The restaurants were mostly booked when we arrived and we have to select from remaining which 2 out of the 3 we selected were very disappointing. We talked to some quests that had been to resort before and they stated that it was disappointing this year and they won’t be back. We also will not return!!!

The room was very clean (and i’m very OCD) and the staff was helpful and kind! I recommend this resort, the food was good. Only complaint was that you are limited to only eat at 3 of the restaurants and there was no option to pay to eat there (had to eat at communal buffet).

If you are looking for a quiet resort this is not for you. It is crazy busy. The buffet is nuts no plates, no cutlery, and hard to get a coffee in the morning. The rooms are nice but housekeeping is hit and miss as well as the stocking of the mini fridge some days it was other days it wasn’t. The pools are nice and the beach is awesome but there are the ignorant people that have to save chairs and never use them or show up 4 hours later if not more. The staff are nice and for the most part helpful. I like the Bahia chain of hotels but will find a quiet one for our next trip.

We had a great time with the kids. The beach was sandy and the water was blue. The rooms were very nicely cleaned. The check in could be improved. We were waiting in one lane to get the bracelets and then they told us to get on the second lane to get the bracelets to work. The other thing that could be improved is to get not used plastic cups for the beer or drinks. We didn’t like the idea of washing the plastic cups. The beer should be in the glass to drink.
We all got food poisoning the last day. We were all eating different things though. Also there was no sparkling water if asked to bring it to the rooms.The check out was nice and easy. Overall was nice.

They said you have to go to the main office to get the ice, they can’t bring it to you when I call for some more beer they complain that I had too many beer.

Staff was so unpleasant, very clearly hated their job. Pool water was cold as ice! The temperature while we were there was already chilly so not sure why they wouldn’t heat their pools up. Food was gross, caused us to get sick. They ran out of pool towels one of the days we were there. Room clean up seemed like nothing more than making of beds. Bedroom bed had no blanket nor duvet, just a sheet.

Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

There was a significant security breach in our room. It may employee entered our room without knocking while my partner was coming out of the shower naked, I started yelling at him to get out of the room and he stood there like he couldn’t hear me he was attaching a sign to the back of the door and he would not even turn his head to look at me.

I will not be available for the next 30 days as I am Amend doing a medical treatment program, but I expect the hotel to at the minimum refund to the fortnights that we were there as my partner was unable to feel safe in our room and had a hard time sleeping and even being at the resort after this happened

While the rooms were excellent and well maintained, the concierge and front desk service was extremely poor. I requested an extra blanket three days in advance and only received it three days later, which is unacceptable.
During my stay, I was injured and advised by a doctor not to walk, yet the resort did not even have a wheelchair available. This lack of basic guest support is concerning, especially in a resort setting.
Additionally, the check-in process took over an hour and a half, which reflects very poor organization and guest handling.
My low rating is solely due to the concierge and front desk service. The rooms and cleaning staff were good, but the overall experience was significantly impacted by the lack of responsiveness, preparedness, and basic service standards.

DO NOT GET THE OLDER ROOMS. Room was dirty had water and gum on side of bed/floor. Many people said the older rooms smell like mold. We complained and they upgraded us to luxury esmeralda for $200 extra. We had to wait like 3 hours for this whole change and we just wanted to go shower. It was annoying but once we were in Esmeralda we enjoyed th rest of the stay and staff there were wonderful.

The property was good. The problem we had was the attitude of your staff towards us. Also, the food was horrible, always cold. We ate mostly burgers the entire stay, snacks we bought and sometimes chose to stay without food. For a resort that gets different cultures, they need to have more English speaking staff who are frontline too cater to visitors.

It was too hard to make reservations at the specialty restaurants. Service was good sometimes but mostly it was subpar. Lines to get drinks were too long and bars were understaffed. Cleaning service didn’t give us fresh towels, change our sheets, make our bed, or empty our garbages on a couple occasions. No room service available.

If you love people, music and lots to do then you will enjoy this. If you’re like me and want to listen to the birds with your morning coffee and have some quiet space go somewhere else. The noise level is rarely below 60 decibels. I was next door to the gym and the outdoor music started at 6:15 am. Restaurants were between 70 and 80 decibels. Each pool is louder than the last. The beach is packed and there you get not only the resort music but everyone’s personal speaker’s blasting in all directions. I was in one of the newer rooms and it was nicely appointed aside from being unable to enjoy any quiet time on the balcony. You will gets lots of walking in. I averaged 20,000 per day. Apparently the adult only area is quiet but they were full when I was there. I will opt for Melia if I return to Punta Cana. Way more my style.

We had the Junior Suite. Our room had bugs in it. We called twice no one came. We went to guest services to report it, they said someone will come and no one ever came. The buffet staff were extremely rude, daily. The front desk staff was not knowledgeable about included services offered to guest. Lobby bell man was rude. The bell man was upset because we didn’t use their recommended transportation. But I informed them that I had been asking for 2 days on getting assistance with airport transportation. And I wasn’t going to cancel my guaranteed ride. They went as far to stop my transport from coming on the property. I had to go to the front desk to tell them to let him on. Besides the staff, the property overall was nice and clean. The pool areas were great! ALL bartenders were pleasant and entertaining. Flames restaurant staff were great! As far as entertainment, I should have did more research on the resort. I believe the resort is for an older crowd and more popular to natives.

My wife and I were very disappointed with our overall experience at the resort.
Check‑in took almost 30 minutes, even though the line wasn’t very long and there were plenty of staff members walking around.

The room cleanliness was poor. Housekeeping only replaced the towels and made the bed, but the bedroom and bathroom floors remained dirty throughout our entire stay.

Aside from the entertainment team, most of the staff were not friendly and service was consistently slow during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The resort allows you to book one restaurant for every three days of your stay, but reservations appear to be fully booked even though many tables sit empty when you arrive.

In the shopping areas, the guys in front of the stores keep following you inside the store, and pushing you buy things.

Lastly, when we went to Flame, we waited 30 minutes before anyone took our order, and the waiter only came after we called him over.

Mi experiencia pudo haber sido fascinante, pero tuvimos un inconveniente con la linea aérea y apenas pudimos disfrutsr muestra estadia. Suponíamos llegar el 11/28 pero no fue hasta el 11/30 que arribamos. Sabemos que no fué su culpa, mas yo llame tan pronto supimos que el avion no saldria para ver si se podía correr la fe
cha ya que el vuelo no saldría hasta el siguiente dia, que pena que nos ofrecieron ninguna alternativas. Fue dinero perdido en un hotel tan hermoso como parece ser el suyo.

The hotel was unorganized. On arrival, front desk check-in was a nightmare and took 1.5 hours. We had booked online months in advance and checked in all guests online previously. The resort had nothing ready for us when we arrived. Our rooms weren't even in the same building.

We had an amazing stay at Bahia Principe! The staff was exceptional, and George and Nicky were truly the best part of our entire trip. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, welcomed, and taken care of every step of the way. Their kindness and outstanding service made our experience unforgettable. Resort is too big, no easy transportation around, the staff is not so friendly. Food is bad, buffet has a weird smell, drinks are bad, snack bar limited and you cannot take food to your room even if youre feeling sick and cannot eat at the buffet. Not recommended at all. Would not stay again.
