Staff in restaurant were a bit stuck-up and were not very friendly. The rest of the staff was pretty friendly in the hotel. The people in the bar also need to improve on their social skills and treat guess nicer. Many times you would go to the bar and they wouldn't even greet you. They would just say \"what do you want drink\", no smile or greeting or I'll be right with you or anything like that. Needs a lot of improvement in this area.

The property is very nice, with 2 pools. One is a deeper pool and one is shallower. The rooms have been recently updated and are standard to what you'd expect. The food was good, with a variety of options. The beach was nice and has white sand and very little seaweed. The shows were good and the entertainment team works very hard every night. There's a small casino on site as well as a disco. The resort was very nice and wood recommend this resort.

Cons: We took our own wash clothes (different fabric) and the cleaning staff took them and never returned them to us. The rooms are dated with minor issues. There was a light fixture that was hanging off the wall when we arrived to our room. Flies was on food that wasn’t being monitored. Food quality questionable and food choices repetitive. Beach peddlers and their hasslers trying to sell something every step I took when my goal was to relax on vacation.
Pros: They had working elevators. There were working water refill stations throughout the resort. The staff was friendly despite language barrier. Easy access to beach location. Special shout out to Andre outside the Disco at the bar for providing top notch service. He was our go to location nightly that was also a good cool spot due to multiple ceiling fans operational

We arrived at 9.30 no welcome drink - just asked to download the app which would give us all the info we needed and given directions to our block ( which was approx 200 yards ) no assistance was given or offered with our luggage . I enquired where we could get food and was told we had 15 mins before the restaurant closed !
The app was pretty good although does have some inconsistencies mainly locations are known differently on the app vs reality. Also there are no details of the main buffet restaurant.
The room was clean and reasonably well appointed but a little dated. Shower room was good.
In terms of food the main buffet restaurant was good quality (not 5*) desserts were extremely good! The toaster at breakfast was the worst ever encountered 10 laps through to get it even slightly golden - I raised this with a number of staff who would reply “sorry speaka no englese” they would then disappear and take no action.
The speciality restaurants were poor & badly managed , we had numerous experiences of food arriving over cooked and cold - but no action was taken or apology given !
The only exception was the French which was 5*
full entertainment program- morning were usually quiet, with music starting from noon ramping up at 3pm with team members shouting through microphones to be heard! Those wanting a quiet spot to take in the sun were out of luck.
The currency change service would only change US $ or Euros- not good
Overall a nice hotel with lovely gardens but not 5* !!

Food is awful….gross mystery meat for omelette station, buffet was not stocked and cleaned properly. No swim up bar, no waitress service at pool. They let vendors come into lobby at night and they are very aggressive! The room was clean and our housekeeper did a great job.

Check-in was slow, with staff pushing upgrades. The resort is clean, spacious, and safe. Our family suite was quiet, comfortable, and well-maintained, with great blackout curtains. Housekeeping was excellent, and my kids loved the towel animals. The WiFi worked everywhere, even on the beach, and the resort app was useful for messaging the front desk.

Food was hit or miss. Dinner had good options, but the buffet was unappealing—birds stole food, stray cats roamed the restaurant, and some items sat unrefrigerated. There aren’t many lunch options, and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were inconsistent in quality.

The pool wasn’t well-filtered well, with lots of noticeable debris. Chair saving is out of control at the pool and beach, and the resort doesn’t enforce its policy. Solicitation was constant—vendors approached us nonstop, especially because we had kids. The wristband room keys were convenient, but I wish they were removable.

Check-out is strict at noon, no exceptions, so we had to sit in the lobby for 90 minutes before our ride.

The property was beautiful. The food was decent. There was not anything you could walk to other than the resorts own shopping. The beach was super pretty. However, I found it irritating that they continuously try to sell you the member package. Even leaving the restaurants, they try to ask you to go to the timeshare presentation. Very aggravating! We went to an iberostar in playa del Carmen and loved it which is why we went here. However, I’d say take your money elsewhere.

We weren't offered the upgrade as we requested. Our room smelled of mold, and we did not have the opportunity to make reservations at the a la carte restaurants - it was first come first serve, but the restaurants were nearly empty, and long lines outside. The a la carte restaurants were extremely slow and dinner took more than 2 hours. Felix - amazing at the buffet area - kind and pleasant - the staff is what made our trip enjoyable. Good People work there!

The property is very pretty & the beach is nice. There are 2 big, uncrowded pools. Most of the staff were helpful. But overall I would not recommend this resort.

We stayed 4 nights. We did not enjoy the food, which could be a matter of taste. We found the app & website to have conflicting info, with no reliable source of where things were or when they were happening, including hours the restaurants & pool were open. The pool appeared to close between 6 & 7 pm, which is very early for adult guests who would enjoy an evening swim with a drink. We never found any entertainment other than one night of karaoke. The casino was mostly just broken slots.

We were without hot water for 2 days with no explanation or eta for repair.

Our first full day there consisted of a high pressure sales pitch for what was ostensibly a time share from multiple \"concierges\". This was approached multiple more times over 3 days. There were vendors set up all over the resort selling trinkets & art that first day. They were aggressive, going so far as to grab my arm on multiple occasions when I (a woman) was walking alone. It was almost impossible to avoid these sellers. I anticipate this kind of sales tactic off resort, but found it extremely off-putting and anxiety inducing to have to constantly say no thank you & walk faster to get away from groups of men who followed and grabbed at me. It was the opposite of a relaxing start to what should have been a peaceful vacation.

We will not return.

Overall, I did like this property. However I did like Riu a bit better in Punta Cana. The people are much nicer at Riu. Buffets are hit and miss. Restaurants are very good. Beach is good, got bit up by bugs really bad tho. The rooms were clean but bathrooms stunk. Overall it was 6/10. Definitely not the worst but better resorts out there.

We were unable to get reservations at the restaurants we wanted thought they did not look to be full at any point when walking past them during dinner times. Our toilet broke and it took three phone calls, a trip to the front desk, and a wait time of just over six hours before anyone came to fix it (even though we were told someone was on there way several times. The fire alarm went off on two consecutive mornings. The water and ice machines on the second floor where we stayed were out the entire time we were there. All of the drinks in the fridge were bottles yet you had to purchase a bottle opener to drink them. Much of the staff was friendly in the bars and restaurants, but I found most of the other staff couldn’t care less about our experience at their property. The best part of the trip was the beach and the weather (things the staff had no control over).

Processed food overload. Shocked at lack of fresh options specifically in restaurants that require reservation. Its the same bulk processed food from the buffets. 6/7 meals the food was not served hot and the mix of humanity makes for unsanitary safe serving practices particularly at the buffets.
Most service providers are kind, genuine and demonstrate hood customer service. The exceptions leave a bad impression.

I came on Sunday, They closed the buffet by the beach on Monday because of the construction work they decided to do during this busy time of the season, and instead of enjoying the sound of the beach I was hearing the sound of pneumatic hammer. It was very bad. They have 4 drink bars by the beach and pool, on Thursday they open only one around 1pm, so I had to spend one hour in line to get anything to drink. During dinner time to get the table another waiting line. Terrible experience!!!
One day my room was not cleaned, so we couldn’t take a shower because we had no dry towel, couldn’t even take one from the pool because they closed at 7pm.
I will never go back there again.
And I’m not sure if I ever travel by Expedia, because this hotel was highly recommended by Expedia. Very bad experience!!!

Overall we had a very good time dispite having 1/2 of our stay rained out.
Entertainment was very good most days.Lovely super friendly staff Domenica side appears more forthcoming in helpfullness why i dont know.The buffet is better than many 4.5 star resorts i stayed at (mostly in mexico).
The only restaurant experience we enjoyed was the French restaurant.

were sub par you get much better food and choices at the buffet.

I have stayed in several all inclusive resorts and by far the food here was the best...the only complaint would be the fruit...it was never fresh or good... but everything else was always really GOOD! The restroom was small compared to every resort I have stayed at...but it was okay. I paid for \"oceanview\" and received a corner room which didnt really allow for \"oceanview\". I wish they were more generous with their complimentary items...for example I forgot q-tips...I asked the front desk for some...and they provided a tiny carton box with 1 q-tip in there...

Check-in and out was great. The cleaning crew and some of the servers were great but, what turned me off the must was the fact that I went to two different restaurants on site and my husband and I was discriminated against on top of it, the sewer underneath the cinq smells bad and I went out one night and found a small lizzard in the room. The night before I a roach running around. Out of all the Iberostar I've been to by far this one was the worst. I'll not be returning back to this branch of Iberostar. It definitely needs to be updated.

We stayed for 8 days, we felt so happy, safe and relaxed. The food was okay, it used to be better. The menu at the restaurants are a bit limited. The drinks used to taste better and had a nicer presentation. The hotel is in need of some updates and I am glad it will be receiving a much needed renovation The best part of the hotel is their employees, all of them go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and happy. Nathaly who cleaned our room was amazing, she kept everything clean and neatly. Julio in one of the bars was great, Santa at the reception was friendly and solved my problem. The entertainment group was great! Everyone was amazing. The best about Dominican Republic is the people.
The beach was beautiful and the hotel makes the best effort to keep it clean on the days that the seaweed was present.
Overall I had great time! I cannot way to see the changes that are coming.

Keys had to be rekeyed because they would just stop working, even when I was very careful to not put them near my phone, the massage therapist was on her phone during my massage, they charged me for rooms I had canceled. Our stay couldn’t have been a better experience. The staff were very nice and made you feel comfortable. It’s hard to believe that this resort is considered the lowest quality of the 4 Iberostars on the property. It was beautifully manicured and clean. The only negative thing that I could say about the resort was that it was a little frustrating checking in on our arrival. It took much longer than expected but it all worked out. Overall I would highly recommend staying here.

They tried but it was subpar. It was adequate, but I wouldn't recommend it.

The food at the buffet focuses on quantity and not quality. Good variety but a lot of the food sits there for too long becomes dry. The restaurants with reservations were not authentic, but a slightly better than the buffets.

The building is old and not cleaned very well. The junior suite was spacious but the furniture was all old. The couch was so worn and a bit dirty that I didn't even want to sit on it. One of the legs on the bed was broken, but there were other supporting legs so it was fine. The bed and pillows were comfortable enough.

Iberostar Punta Cana and Dominican share the same space and facilities.
