Everything was dirty, old, and poorly maintained. The air conditioner barely cooled the room. The front desk staff changed our room, but unfortunately, the overall condition of the hotel was still very disappointing. The property looked very different from the photos shown on Expedia, which was extremely misleading.

Well for starters, me and my boyfriend arrived on time to check in. Check in was at 3:00, we arrived at about 2:50. We had to wait for an additional 30 minutes to almost an hour past 3:00 for a room! I even had a reservation so I didn’t understand the reasoning for the hold up. The woman at the desk could’ve been a little nicer than she was. She definitely was a little rude and had a nasty attitude with her tone and the way she spoke to us and even others. The room itself was pretty decent, it was clean for the most part. The floor could’ve been swept better, and the toilet was terrible. It clogged very easily! Outside of the room was a different story! Everytime that me and my boyfriend would exit the room, we’d smell nothing BUT smoke. There’s lots of people sitting around on the ground outside of rooms or on the stairs. There were multiple times throughout the morning where we were woken up by loud noise from water shooting at our window as if it were being sprayed with a hose, or people talking LOUD. Not to mention the pool being out of order!

Do yourself a favor and don’t try to save the 50 bucks by staying here, it’s not worth it.

The check-in was very good staff, as challenging as they could be with the accommodations. The room had water on the floor right as you entered and a bad odor. The were quick to give us another room which was better with no smell, but little and live roaches in the bathtub and scattered dead ones under coffee pot and floor. It definitely needed updating, even the towels looked old but they were clean. Pool was closed, really on July 4th!! They gave no reason for that, and NO discount. Last stay for me here, and its too bad because the location is excellent.

Check in starts at 3, I got there at 4 with my room already prepaid and reserved. The room was not ready and I had to wait an hour for my room to be cleaned. After all of that my keycards constantly stopped working and I had to go to the front desk 3 times with my toddler very inconvenient. Also they claim it’s a non-smoking hotel, the room reeked of cigarettes and the we were looking forward to the pool and it was unavailable due to a crack in it

First and ask time staying at a red roof inn. Checked into our 1st of 3 rooms and it was dirty. We had to be moved to another room. The 2nd room seemed fine until we went to take a shower. After a 5 minute shower the entire sleeping was flooded. Tried to call the front desk and the phone did not work. Had to drive to the front desk for help. Was moved to the 3rd room. This one was at least clean and the shower worked but it had a gap under the door that allowed all types of bugs to crawl in. We had to lay towels in front of the door .

Solo tengo una preocupación que no debió suceder , yo había pagado en línea con hotel.com 102 dólares , en la recepción a pesar de estar efectiva mi reserva tuve que volver a pagar la habitación , lo que me ha traído a tener desajustes financieros al día de hoy , según me responden del hotel en 5 días será que tal vez logre tener mi dinero de vuelta , quien es el responsable de esto ? Me siento muy defraudado , la economía familiar debía ser más respetada , si yo llego a un hotel y ya realicé mi reserva y pagué , como me van a cobrar la habitación una vez que llegue , no tenía otra opción que aceptar para dormir allí esa noche , ahora son las consecuencias , no cobro hasta el viernes , quien responde a esto que para mí es algo muy decepcionante

The bed is not pillow topped as described, the shower floor was cracked and can cause injury. Shower floor is incredibly slick while dry, and even worse when wet. The soap dispensers in the shower did not work, the toilet was not secured to the floor, we did not get a snack box as it says we would for a premium room.

There are Thin walls, You can hear your Neighbors, there is no place to put shampoo or body wash inside the shower.
The bed was comfy, and the staff told to me they haven't found my Smart glasses When I called them to tell that I forgot on the room 115 under the blankets.
The smart glasses has find my device and is linked to my phone so even trying to Use it will not work.

We stayed here over or normal Choice property and paid $108 to receive an upgraded room with higher end bedding and a snack. NO SNACK and hardest bed! Nice desk if I had work to do. Best part of motel was Netflix and Hulu was available to sign in. No breakfast like a Choice. Excellent reviews were deceiving overall.

I stayed at Red Roof Inn Plus in St. Augustine over Easter weekend, and overall it was a solid experience.

The room was clean and simple, check-in was easy, and the location made it convenient to get to the beach and around town. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it’s a reliable, budget-friendly option for a short stay.

What really stood out was the staff. I accidentally left some items behind when I checked out in a rush, and had to drive back to get them. The team had already set my things aside and went out of their way to make sure I got everything back safely. That level of care and honesty made a big impression.

Because of that, we’d definitely stay here again.

Our stay was quite awful. I read reviews and assumed we'd be staying our one night at a decent enough budget-friendly place. The place is outdated and felt unclean. We also were woken in the middle of the night by someone agressively banging on our neighbours door. The glass got shattered, there was screaming, and the person ran to a running car and fled. The police arrived shortly after. This is not the hotels fault; however, it was awful and scary that, in combination with the state of the room made experience horrible.

I take my son and his friend on 2 trips a year, spring break and summer. I prefer to go with cheaper hotels and spend more money on experiences. Im not overly critical of cheaper hotels as i don't set my expectations too high. This hotel is bad though.
First, i feel like a lot of places are slapping \"plus\" at the end of their name to draw you in. This is no \"plus\" hotel. Unless they're counting the $40 barely cold mini fridge in the room.
Upon arrival we discovered that the toilet is made for toddlers. After fighting to get the bathroom door closed (it hit the toilet as you're closing the door). Im not overly tall, but this toilet was very short.
There were tiny roaches in the room. Im a floridian, so that wasn't too big of a deal- until i discovered they were there because the room hadn't really been cleaned well. Counters were sticky, trash still in the bin, etc. I had already looked around before booking the room so i was resigned to this is the room that fit my budget at the time so i just cleaned the room myself. We're going to be gone all day and just sleeping there- it is what it is.
We came back to the room around 10 pm the first night and it was like a homeless person hangout spot by our room. People smoking pot 2 doors down, people sitting on the ground on the 2nd floor smoking whatever above us. Stomping and yelling in the room above us. Weird smells.
Definitely lock your doors!
Im out of room and can't even add the drug overdose experience to this review 😮‍💨

clean room, friendly staff. pets stay free. def recommend. ac also works amazingly (at least in room 259!!). had a poor experience at a other hotel and had to find one quickly. anyone that’s been to or lives in st augustine knows durning spring break, you cannot get a hotel last minute. they had only a few rooms left! i thank all of the friendly staff here for getting us in last minute!

First off, I got a non-smoking room. Entered my room, straight smelled like someone recently finished smoking in the room. Looked around, HORRIBLE chipped walls, the door was NOT secured properly, thought I was going to freak out when I noticed spiders and baby roaches in the bathroom!!! Before I took my shower, I've noticed there was a previous USED rag hanging on the shower rod!!!! I slept in my morning work clothes... It was uneasy to sleep because I was solo and I didn't want to waste my money!!! From my perspective of this nasty MOTEL, I would not recommend anyone to this place!!! Plus when I was parking, there were black foreign people watching me and I stepped in dog feces which was UNACCEPTABLE!!! No one should ever have to experience what I have experienced.. I had to buy new shoes for work because of other people pet's feces!!!! I SHOULD SUE RED ROOF FOR NOT HAVING A STABLE, CLEAN, SAFE ENVIRONMENT YET UNDER BUSINESS OF MY SAFETY!! NEVER AGAIN

TV didnt work. I had to fix it myself after calling front desk andcthey said they would get their person to take care of it. The bed sucked ass. Mattress really needed to be replaced. The pillows so damn small and hard as a rock. The floor was dirty when you walked barefoot, bottom of feet were black. The batrroom is very tiny.

The front desk girl was great very sweet and fast ! Once we got to the room it looked ok from the surface . This inn was really cheap so we didn’t expect much BUT when we went to shower and grab a towel the towels were all dirty with stains . The after only being there 30 min I noticed my kids feet were pitch black ! So no one has cleaned those floors in a longggg time . Lastly the people next door were smoking non stop and the smell was coming in through the door . We have 2 little kids and didn’t want them inhaling that . After that we picked up our things and left to look for another hotel .

The rooms at this hotel are extremely unhygienic. The floors were so dirty that my feet turned black just from walking from the bed to the bathroom. The towels had visible yellow stains, and the room smelled terrible from the moment we walked in.

The air conditioning barely worked and struggled to keep the room cool. Despite being advertised as a non-smoking room, the guests next door to another room we had rented since we were a big group the guest next to that room were smoking heavily, and the smell completely filled the room. When we complained and asked to be moved especially since we are asthmatic we were told it wasn’t possible.

This was a very unpleasant experience. I will not return to this hotel, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
