The pool closed for maintenance during our stay. We were not aware of this when we booked. They drained the pool water out the back door to a creek. Meanwhile, the doors were open to the cold so we could not even use the lounge area. Very disappointed. This was our third time to visit the property. No problems prior.

We booked this last minute for Mother's Day and it was a perfect family location! The staff was so friendly and we felt like they greeted us with real smiles. The room was perfect and we even got to see a bear! The pool was fun for the whole family and we even found a quiet spot beside the creek near the outdoor pool, to just enjoy the nature. We will be back!

I have driven by this lodge for 25 years. I finally decided to try it out since I needed a one night’s stat before a hike in the Smokies. I loved everything about it. Great staff - very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean. Loved the thick towels and comfy bed. Lots of hot water!
Pool was nice. Loved that it was walkable to Gatlinburg restaurants and shops. I felt safe as a solo female traveler.
I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Gatlinburg!

Staff were awesome and really tried to make our stay better, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is definitely due for a renovation. Our first room was not clean—the tub was heavily stained, there was hair on the wall and floor, and the toilet wouldn’t flush.

We were moved to another room, which was an upgrade with a fireplace, but it still had issues. The fireplace had chipped rocks, the walls looked like they were mid-prep for painting, and the bathroom floor constantly had standing water with no clear source.

We were on the 5th floor and the main elevator kept breaking down.

At that point, we didn’t want to go through moving again, so we just made it work—but overall, the condition of the rooms really took away from the experience.

John at the front desk is awesome!!! All the staff is great that I’ve encountered. However at the price point it’s at there are other options. I’ve stayed several times and I love the location, but the condition of the rooms is slowly degrading. Not saying I won’t stay again, but I am going to look at newer options. Also my other major complaint is the pool is only open to 10pm for kids, way too often the kids want to go in the pool after a long day out but it’s too late for the pool. I really wish this pool was open until at least midnight. Bottom line is it’s a great stay if you don’t mind a 1970’s feeling room.

While we encountered some disturbances from other guests, the hotel staff was incredible and accommodating. The location is perfect, off the main strip, but close enough to walk down (it is on a hill) each day. Our kids loved the pool! The rooms could use some updating, but we all loved the hotel and seeing a bear out back by the creek was a big plus!

The staff was extremely helpful. The room and the hotel were extremely clean. The pool was one of the best that we’ve experienced in a hotel. Our one disappointment, the hotel restaurant was severely understaffed, and weren’t able to take care of customers the way that they probably wanted to.

The place was clean and well maintained. We loved the indoor pool. Outdoor pool was not open yet for our trip, so we did not get to experience that portion of the property. Loved that there was a coffee shop and Cafe on-site. It was a little off the strip, but close enough that the walk wasn't bad and the free trolley service that toured the area was a great convenience since parking is limited and fee based.

It was my 18 year old daughter, two 12 year old nephews and I stayed at the glenstone! I will tell you it took me three months to find a decent hotel close enough with indoor pool that would accommodate all four of us and that we all would enjoy! And I’m so glad I changed from the wander hotel to the glenstone lodge because whewww seeing both I was amazed at just the staff at glenstone from the easiest check-in (and courteous as well) to easier check-out! They warned us about bear an was very kind! No hassle on extra linen they even hand out lemonade and popcorn in the lobby! The beds were very comfortable and I never seen a bug. Not even an ant! However we did see bear outback across the creek behind the hotel! It was awesome experience there! I’ve stayed at a few cabins and hotels in the smokies and this was the best experience yet! The boys had a ball in the pool. Which is beautiful and a tad bit warm but the hot tub was hot! And nice! All in all I would 1000% recommend this lodge for your stay in the smokies! Very affordable as well! We will be back.

Amazing staff! Rooms were a bit dated but for the price, they were perfect for what we were looking for! My daughter loved the pool even though the temp was a little too warm for me (felt like bath water to me). Elevator issues were annoying but manageable. Great location! We definitely took advantage of the on site trolley stop. I wouldn’t want to be much closer to the crazy crowds on the strip. Overall, great trip!! Will recommend and stay again if we ever come back to Gatlinburg!

Very great staff. John was super nice and helpful. The water pressure fore the shower was amazing and nice hot water.

The only complaint I had was the pool area wasn’t the cleanest. There was algae and hair in the pool. The covers for the intakes were loose. Also there was a group of kids in the pool unsupervised. It was like a ball team or something let loose down at the pool area. They were jumping from the first pool to the 3/4 foot pool … it was not safe as my kids were playing in the lower pool. They also climbed up on the waterfall and jumped into the 9 foot pool. Kids were going over the wall from hot tub to pool and back and forth etc…

wow— we stayed here on short notice and it was awesome!! great place for kids to burn off energy at the indoor pool area. we were fortunate enough to get a poolside room too so it was quick & easy access for us to go back and forth. the staff were also AMAZING! i’m honestly just so impressed. Andrea at the front desk was superb! like seriously, i was in awe at how kind she was and went above and beyond to prioritize our room to be ready early (we had a cranky toddler in desperate need of a nap lol). we would definitely stay here again. also- the onsite restaurant was SO GOOD!!! we were shocked bc typically those places can be mid but, it was soooo good. the beds were very comfortable; rooms were so clean and smelled fresh

The room was good for the price right in front of the pool! I had 3 teenage girls with me for spring break and that was a great day filler! The outdoor pool was closed.. Staff was normal no one did anything that stood out to mention. The only thing was the breakfast it start as a buffet on Friday they charge $12 per person and they don’t have enough of a variety to charge. Through the weekday, which was when we were there, we left on Friday you order off of the menu and the prices are outrageous but the food is so much better..

The staff at Glenstone Lodge was so amazing and went above and beyond. So kind and helpful. The restaurant staff at Mountain Trail Grill and Pizza was also great. So glad we stayed here. This will be the first time in 40 years of travel where I can honestly say I definitely look forwatd to staying here again. Ten Stars from our tribe! That pool area is to die for. No one else has anything like this for the price we paid

The indoor pool was so crowded and the outdoor pool was CLOSED. (laying out at the outdoor pool was the main reason I booked this stay.) We left a day early because we slept horribly the first night due to the constant sound of people opening their balcony doors which desperately need to be greased or repaired. The staff was very friendly (I wish I could remember the front desk ladies name she was amazing.) Also had two great interactions with a woman who was trying her best to run the hotel’s grill/restaurant all by herself. She was great. The pictures of this hotel were deceptive, but as my husband says, “You get what you pay for,” and $132 a night in Gatlinburg was definitely too good to be true. We wouldn’t stay there again but it wasn’t the fault of the staff by any means.

The staff was very friendly. The pool is great for young kids, but the hot tub was over crowded with young kids as well so I didn’t get to enjoy it. The balcony door didn’t function easily and the bathrooms are small, but functional. It’s a little further off the main strip, but the free tram does stop right out front!

The property is nice. We loved the pool and did enjoy our stay. But there are some things that need updated. The chair in our room had stains all over it. There were stains on the curtains also. I worked as a house keeping supervisor before so I know some things can’t be fixed just like that. But however my bed had a stain on the cover. I turned over a pillow and the whole case was stained. I did go down to the front desk and ask for my beds to be changed. Then the restaurant was extremely busy with only two workers. We got our food and ate it by the time they brought my appetizer out. Overall I give it a 3. Things could have been better

There was a restaurant on site , i would not recommend eating there , it was a terrible experience. My granddaughter ordered chicken strips and fries , the chicken was dripping grease , she did not eat them. My salad i order it with little to no cheese it was loaded like they put extra, i didn't eat it. And nev a drink refill. But they were on the ball ab bring the check.

Restaurant could use to go minus, water in shower and sink did not get hot, on high it was just warm. Room was nice but could use a deep clean due to some cobwebs and dest in out of the way places. Staff at the front desk were awesome! Pool area was crazy with kids not being supervised. Both night of our stay the hot tub was full of 12 and under unsupervised children. Indoor pool was not heated and was very cold. Was told only 1 car per room. The sold out and allowed multiple cars per room also had sign that said no trailers and there were several in parking lot. Union check in was told they have a very strict parking policy and would tow if not followed. There was no parking Saturday night tried calling front could not get an answer tried at least 4 times. Parked along edge that had steep embankment beside it and 2 other cars . Walked to front desk and was told I needed to move to overflow lot up road. Asked why there was not room to park and why I should have to walk in the dark back to hotel. Was told by clerk they were sold out and multiple rooms had 2-3 cars per room. Asked if it was one car per room why were the extra cars per room permitted to park. He said they could park where they want. Explain where I was parked and he said I needed to move or be towed. Went to over flow and there was no parking. It was gravel lot and no definite parking spots. Cars and trucks just randomly parked and no room between any of them for a large SUV. Went back to room called the front desk and told them there was no room in the overflow I was parked on the edge next to embankment. There were non handicapped cars in handicapped spots. Cars parked blocking side walks on side walks. It was a disaster. Front desk clerk was very rude and offered no assistance.

Be cautious when booking. Let me start by saying the staff was great from beginning to end - friendly, attentive, helpful. Really…great staff. Keep in mind this is an older property, so if you’re expecting pristine and new, this isn’t it. However, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the cleaning staff was on top of things! Again, great staff! Here’s where the caution comes in. They have a pretty cool swimming pool - multi-level, with a water fall, hot tub grotto…it’s pretty unique. However, the system couldn’t keep up with the number of bathers. The water was pretty nasty, with visible clumps of hair/gunk and pieces of food floating in it, too cloudy to see the bottom, and pH out of whack making your skin itch. Not any fault of the staff - just a result of a ton of bathers. The bigger problem was some of the other patrons. Until 1:00 am there were kids running up and down the balcony walkways, yelling while playing football in the parking lot, adults with car doors propped open playing music, adults yelling in rooms (with profanity) about fighting and drug use…and lots of marijuana use in the parking lot. On the last night of our stay, the joining room next to ours was smoking so much pot in their room that it was coming under the door and filling ours…with our kids inside. We notified the office, who did send security to ask them to stop, but that resulted in them yelling at us through the wall and partying harder until roughly 2:00 am. More affordable isn’t always best.

Pool and restaurant inside the hotel however, were very disappointing. Pool was always dirty with bugs, hair, ect. We stayed for a week, visited the restaurant/ snack area several times, and only ever purchased anything one time because there was no one around to serve us or check us out. The two occasions we did see and speak to someone they were rude.

We were very happy with the hotel & staff. We plan on making reservations again. We had some inconsiderate guests that were smoking marijuana on the balcony and it was coming into our room. We stayed in a \"pool side\" room. It was on the third floor, very hot and very, very humid from the pool. The room's carpets were very well worn and there were rust marks everywhere there was a hinge or anything metal. Could really use a refresh. Beds were comfortable. Staff was kind. You do have to remove ALL food from cars b/c of bears in the area.

The check-in staff, pool and location are really the only reasons this even got a 2 star review.
Our room was clean, however, the paint was peeling off the walls and ceilings, the window curtains wouldn't close, the bathroom had to climb over the toilette in order to close the bathroom door because the door barley cleared the toilette when you opened it, so cramped.
The bed felt like sleeping on a solid haybale covered in sheets and the pillows felt like a solid laundry sack - so uncomfortable. And lets not forget to mention how LOUD the hotel is, they have no sound proofing! Our room was right outside the elevator and starting at 6am people waiting for it carrying on conversations at full volume, you would have sworn they were actually in our room talking, then the drunks at midnight from the masonic motorcycle men's group there, hanging out drinking and smoking in a tent in the parking lot all day stumbling to their rooms with booming voices. They left beer cans and trash in the parking lot, this is not a family friendly crowd. Our room had a shared door to the room beside us, and again no soundproofing we could hear their conversations clear as day and they had a baby who was screaming at 2am and sounded like it was directly in our room. Definitely would not stay again, especially for what we paid. Not sure how it got such high reviews.

We stayed 2 nights at the Glenstone Lodge. Parking was convenient and it is close to parkway. A short walk there but it is uphill on the way back. Check in was quick and the staff was helpful and friendly. We stayed on the 3rd floor not in the pool area. They do have several rooms that open up to the indoor pool area if that’s a preference. None of the vending machines worked for sodas but they were handing out free lemonade in the lobby. We ordered pizza from the restaurant in the lobby it was pretty good but a little pricey. The pool was nice but needed cleaning and the hot tub was inside the pool so all the pool water was splashing in it making it cold. The hotel was clean but a little dated overall worth the money and in a great location a little off the parkway but within comfortable walking distance. Would definitely stay again

Pool and hot tub were great with the exception of no kids allowed in hot tub as there rule..however we couldn't enjoy the hot tub for kids climbing over us etc we have kids and love kids but us as parents couldn't go relax in hot tub for this reason.... Unfortunately, the room and facilities felt very dated for the price point. The bathroom in particular could really use a refresh—the tub and fixtures looked quite old and worn. Overall, the room felt more like an older motel than a hotel in this price range. The view and general condition of the room didn’t match what I expected based on the cost. The stay was acceptable, but the property is clearly in need of updates and modernization to justify its rates.

The hotel has a cool retro feel, everything was clean and the location was convenient to the main strip in Gatlinburg. Our son liked that we could go swimming even though it was freezing outside! The restaurant was good too. Overall a good experience.

Outside rooms were sketchy and dark. But staff worked out for us to have an enterior room which felt very safe. Was disappointed because it said breakfast included and failed to say only on sat and sun. So that was a bummer. Over all smells good, nice staff, and pool was neat. But 18 and older not allowed on hot tub AND pool hours say to 11 but 10 to 11 is adult only. So i would call with soecific details because these werent listed when i booked.
