The property was nice. Our view was amazing! Our balcony allowed for privacy and we had a front row view of the ocean which was great. The room didn’t feel clean and I refused to walk without my flip flops. I found a thick hair ball in the shower and another blond hairball in the extra blanket that’s kept in the closet. The food was really good but over priced, the staff was friendly and fun. The supreme pizza was so so good!

Location was nice overlooking the harbor. Room was not clean. Told front desk staff and management and nothing was done about it. Long stringy blonde hair everywhere in showers on floor on covers. Toilet area not clean. No phone is room and management didn’t know why.

If you’re looking for an authentic St. Thomas experience, Bluebeard’s Castle is it. We stayed at Pirates Pension area and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better spot. For context, we have been to St. Thomas 10x and have stayed all across the island, north, south, east, and west, in everything from resorts to Airbnbs. So when we say this is one of the best bang for your buck stays on the island, we mean it.

The views from up on the hill are absolutely stunning. You can see the harbor and the Caribbean stretching out forever and it never gets old.

The resort itself is well kept and has that perfect mix of laid back island vibes with everything you need. The on site restaurant was a real standout. The food was delicious, the seafood and fresh mangos were incredible and the atmosphere in there was just right. Exactly the kind of place where you lose track of time over a good meal. And don’t sleep on the drinks, the adult beverages were plenty strong and kept the good times going all afternoon.

The pool area was great (3.5 foot deep) and one of our favorite spots on the property (kids)It felt super safe, surprisingly quiet, and never overcrowded. Perfect for just floating around and unwinding with zero stress.

The location is great too. Close enough to Charlotte Amalie to explore the shops and local history, but tucked away enough that it feels like a true escape.

If you’re planning a trip to St. Thomas, don’t overthink it. Bluebeard’s Castle delivered!!!

We enjoyed our stay and view of ships and boats from our balcony. The restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was ok, just need to be a little softer when talking to guest on the phone (only one lady...don't recall her name) but overall stay was nice.

The pictures do this place justice. While the units do look like the pictures, these pictures were clearly taken pre-hurricane. The property is pretty damaged from the hurricane and the first unit they gave us had mold in it. We finally got into a second room four hours later and the shower had hair in it, all over the walls and floor. They don’t offer cleaning services for free, we were told that if we wanted cleaning services, there would be a fee. For the amount of money we paid for the room I would think cleaning is included. Having to call the bell hop, AKA the golf cart to take us to and from the room to and the lobby was a bit of a hassle when the bellhops expected to be tipped every single trip. The kitchen was stocked with essential dishes, all glass, no plastic and was pretty clean. We laid in the bed, both of us started itching. I couldn’t see any bed bugs, but the sheets definitely were not freshly cleaned.

There was a nice view from both the hotel shared areas and the room. The kitchenette with mini fridge and the washer and dryer were helpful. The room was clean but smelled of bleach and the floors were a little sticky from the recent cleaning, so we wanted to leave the slider door open to air it out but there was no screen door to stop bugs from entering with it open. Our TV had no signal so we were unable to use it. The restaurant service was okay. The location is very convenient to the airport and to downtown. Would be happy to stay again for a travel day, as we did, but not throughout one's vacation.

I felt that staff went above and beyond assisting us with transportation and making sure all needs were met. I would absolutely return and recommend this facility highly!

Staff was incredible, amazing view, the room had a fully stocked kitchenette. The only con id the accessibility of the hotel. It is situated on top of a very steep hill in the hotel offers no shuttle or any means of getting up and down the hill, which required a lot of taxis if you cannot walk.

I loved staying here. I would for sure stay again. The view is amazing, loved the stray cats and dogs here and all over the island. Like everyone else says, rent a car or get a taxi, im from Colorado but the hills matched with humidity are no joke. We rented a car and driving on the left side is not as hard as they say. The last 2 days of the stay it rained and we had no problem staying in, hanging out by the pool and bar despite the rain. Bluebeards is perfect, a great place to stay and travel to enjoy St. Thomas.

Rooms were great, Food and drinks were amazing, but not a single place to get water after 11pm, not a single vending machine actually took cash, I checked all 5 on location, and the one night I went to the convenience store a half hour before there listed close they denied me at the door when all i wanted was water and a snack for late night. Overall i had a good experience but i wish i had better access to basic needs, like no access to pool towels, having to call housekeeping to check my door for dirty clothes when everyone has them stacked outside with their room number attatched, it just didn’t make sense sometimes.

AC very good, kitchen very good, room very clean but no room service and we were told that rooms have all the cleaning stuff necessary but didn't have a broom.
Concierge agents very professional and diligents at all times. Receptionist extremely rude treating people as enemies, i think they forget that we are the clients. I needed decaf coffe from the room amenities and she was selling it to me. The water station at the reception was always empty .
I tried w expedia to contact the hotel in regards to a reservation and they never answer.

The room was clean and okay for comfort. The pullout sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the furniture was a little outdated but the floors were very dirty. Without shoes on your feet, your feet will get black. The front staff and bell boy were friendly. There are a lot of stairs to climb to get back and forth from your room to where the pool and food area are located. The food was good but the bartender/ server during the day was swamped and had no one else to help. The hotel needs to have more staff to help out during lunch and dinner service.

We loved our penthouse , even it had some flaws!!..The food at the Restaurant, the pool ,gym and other areas were really nice ,but like with all buildings ( historical wise) you can see in some areas the 'teeth of time' have left their signs !!..We were challenged with all those climbing stairs, several times a day, where we had to ger to the pool,restaurant or gym 🏋️‍♂️ but we made it...and if you like to walk around a bit , to the Pablo Market , you need to be good to foot!!..If tou can get a car, its fine, but keep in mind , they're having left side driving !!
Restaurants and Taxi service are not the cheapest, but its more convenient if you like to explre downtown or other areas !..Parking places are a challenge to find, therefore it was taxi for us !!!..The relaxing atmosphere is just great, and you need to learn to be patient 🙏
Otherwise it was super relaxing and beautiful!!!

When booking on Expedia your room is booked as an average stay. This means you cannot upgrade or change your room. Room 308 was clean. However, it had a strong musty, cat urine smell. We did not complain, we just went and bought lysol and sprayed every day. We were on the bottom floor and could not change the room. But now we know the room types Expedia will give with their so called package deals.

Hotel is insecure, with room doors opening directly to open air, no need to pass through lobby or any hotel oversight. Someone woke us at 11:30pm, pounding on our door and calling for “Ed”. Who was it? Who knows! But it cost an hour of sleep. Hotel is dated. Staff are bureaucratic and unhelpful. Pool is not especially clean. Hotel room was rented for four guests but only had two towels. Driveway was rutted with potholes. Breakfast available only at 9am not earlier.

This property was absolutely beautiful! The staff greeted us with smiles and made us feel so welcomed. They drive you to your room and the two drivers we had was pleasant and funny. The rooms had everything you could need. We enjoyed the pool, bar and the cafe. Oh and the bartender made his own drink it was delicious! It's close to downtown, if you choose to walk the hill is no joke lol. We will be back for another visit for sure 😊 We recommend the ocean view room with balcony. The vibe in St. Thomas is so relaxing. Highly recommend you visi.

We asked staff for a different room but they said they were sold out and it wouldnt be a room with balcony view so that would be a downgrade. Rooms need to be updated and new furniture is need ASAP.

This was a great resort with great amenities. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The food at the restaurant was great and the service was fab! (Make sure to sit in Reese's section!) The front desk staff was so helpful and knowledgeable and the girl in the gift store was so friendly, I think her name was Denise. Highly recommend for a fun trip away.

The room was clean and standard and did include all of the promised amenities. We appreciated having the ability to cook for ourselves and to do laundry (even though the washer and dryer were in the same tiny room with the toilet). The view from the balcony was stellar, so much so that it almost made up for the pitfalls of the place. Problems: (1) hotel neighbors who smoked MJ and blasted loud music until 4 AM (not sure this was the hotel’s fault, although it seems they should have some sort of security making the rounds). (2) not very flexible/accommodating housekeeping staff, who would not bring us fresh towels until they saw we had bundled ours up a certain way and placed them outside. (3) no housekeeping services until the fifth day of our six-day stay (how is that helpful?), and then they picked up and moved most of our personal belongings, which I thought that housekeeping staff should not do. They even threw away some of the things my son was keeping, thinking they were garbage.

The airport shuffle was very easy to find. Staff was on top of things and the kitchen had everything you needed right there. However, the shower was clean when I got there and there was hair in the shower from other guest prior to my stay. The water wasn’t very hot and yellow. But overall good stay.

Check in staff was not pleasant and we had to wait almost half an hour longer than we were told for our room to be ready. Check in is at 4pm and we didnt get our room until 430. Room had a beautiful view and was pretty clean. Blackouts did not effect the power as they have an onsite generator. Our refrigerator worked most of the time and AC was amazing. The shower had a vroken handle that maintenance was unable to fix. Not a big deal really.

It was not close to any beaches, but close to airport and downtown area. I would recommend a car if you choose this hotel due to taxi price and locality of beaches. The restaurant on site is okay, nothing special. Pool and hot tub are okay as well.

Resort was amazing. It is centralized to where you can visit anywhere! A car was a must for us. We were there for 8 days and didn’t stop at all. We were go go. The resort was beautiful. The room was more than we expected. Only downside was some of the staff seemed a little rude. Like more annoyed to help than anything. Don’t get me wrong…we had some wonderful interactions with staff. But a few were kind blah. Kinda like they were annoyed at us asking for the simplest of things. I get it…it’s busy and crowded…but something as simple as a key card not working shouldn’t resort in attitude and basically being called a liar. Lol. We were more shocked than anything. We kinda laughed it off. Maybe she was having a rough morning…not sure. But it was ok. Just small things like that. And basically not knowing what to do or where to go seemed hard when asking for help. We were given the simplest of answers and had to ask even more questions. We eventually just figured it out. I would 100% stay here again though! Like I said, we did have some amazing conversations and help from some of the staff!

I had a great overall experience at this property. The location is excellent, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious my suite was—it included a kitchen and living room, which made it feel very comfortable and elevated.

The view was absolutely beautiful, and I really enjoyed the food at the on-site restaurant—it was delicious. I also spent some time at the pool area. Although I didn’t get in, it was a great place to relax and take in the scenery.

There was a bit of a downside when it came to cleanliness in the bathroom. I did notice hair from a previous guest in the shower and on the floor, so I ended up doing a quick clean myself. That’s definitely an area that could use more attention.

One other thing to note is that there can be a bit of a wait when calling for a taxi, so I’d recommend planning ahead if you’re on a schedule.

Overall, it was a really nice stay, and I would definitely consider coming back.

Our room was spacious but not mopped, we cleaned it ourselves after noticing that our feet were black after being in the room a few hours. Nice to have washer and dryer.
