The noice in the area was aweful and all u hear starting at 3 am is roosters it was so annoying I’d never stay there again. Trashy neighborhood also music so loud till late hours then a rooster at 3 am !!!!

We where moved due to air conditioner not working. Next room was better but still not great.. house keeping didnt come daily so we had to consistently call or go down to the lobby for towels or toilet paper. Nothing was open on the property like advertised. Which really killed our excitement because seemed like so much to do when booking. Pool was always kept at great temperature. The hotel was always kept very clean and I felt very safe there with the security walking around and the gates only opening when going in and out. Overall this was a nice hotel. I do recommend it. Its in a great part of town where you can walk everywhere and the view of the ocean is absolutely beautiful.

I found myself having to find wash clothing, towel when room was
serviced. Should restock what rooms need. You never know who and when going to come and review. Always do your best. Ms. George at front desk is an example of going over and beyond to assist.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Windward. It is close to EVERYTHING, and it’s within walking distance. Coki Beach is about a 20min drive, the Airport is 8 minutes away. There’s multiple shops, night club, restaurants, etc all within walking distance. All The staff were amazing from check in to check out. Extremely helpful with getting extra linen, suggesting spots that we could visit, and securing transportation for the beach. Melvin who’s the bartender showed us terrific hospitality. I would for sure stay here again and would recommend to anyone who is visiting St. Thomas.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice, with a great view of the bay. The patio and pool areas were beautiful. It all fell apart at bedtime. The constant noise from cars and motorcycles racing down the street - (setting off car alarms) kept us awake until 2 AM. Our friends stayed on the opposite side of the hotel and the music from a nearby wedding was so loud the couldn't sleep. I realize this isn't the hotel's fault, but it is a reality. Maybe just don't stay here Friday our Saturday night?

Location to dining and downtown and the ferry are unmatched. I felt safe, but the property is dated. We had water leaking from our bathroom ceiling. There was no shampoo as advertised and none on the property when asked. The pool was refreshing and clean. Very dated and needs work

the property was alright, however nothing was really available expect the pool the gym nothing was in complete working condition. the restaurant and shops were closed. they said it was the off traveling time but why wouldn't you still have the restaurant be available. the description for the room states balcony, but its really not a balcony more like a little step ledge. A balcony you can sit out on...that's not what this was so to pay more thinking you can sit out and look at the ocean drink your coffee.. that was so not the case. I was very disappointing. This hotel is just in a good location if you like to walk. the water didn't work one of the nights we were there. the staff is not very interactive. I was told that's were a lot of people stay when its carnival time but I'm guessing than that's when they up there game and make the place look like the website. they do need a bit of an upgrade. there's only 1 ice maker on the 3rd floor 1 microwave on the 2nd floor. rooms in the 409 area expect to hear loud music late in the night.. my room was 338 which face the front of the hotel pretty quiet. I was easy to catch the safari bus in front of the hotel 2dollar fare.

The Windward Passage is a beautiful hotel conveniently located in the heart of town. One of the biggest advantages is its central location, making it easy to access shops, restaurants, and local attractions.

The downside is that being in the center of town comes with a lot of hustle and bustle, and the noise can make it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. We experienced a few hiccups during our stay, and some of the amenities could definitely use an upgrade. Additionally, there were no operating restaurants on the property during our visit, which was inconvenient, and there was limited entertainment available.

That said, I would like to give special recognition to Ms. Garcia. Her professionalism, kindness, and dedication made our stay much more pleasant and peaceful. She went above and beyond to address our concerns and ensure we were comfortable. Kudos to Ms. Garcia—she truly made it happen for us.

Despite a few challenges, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I look forward to returning in December. Thank you, Ms. Garcia, for making a difference! ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

Convenient location, helpful staff. My only issue was the location of the AC it is positioned in such a way that the cool does not air circulate through the bathroom. With no other mirror in the room I ended up sweating in the face while applying the makeup. I must commend the staff for being very obliging with all requests.

I stayed at the Windward Passage Hotel from May 14th through May 17th, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. The photos online were very deceiving and did not accurately reflect the condition of the hotel or the room we received.

I do want to acknowledge a few staff members who were extremely helpful during my stay. Neisha at the front desk was kind and professional, and Luwen was also very helpful and pointed us in the right direction when we had questions. The security officer was also pleasant and helpful throughout our stay.

However, there were several issues that negatively impacted the experience. My room key repeatedly stopped working, and I had to return downstairs three separate times to have it fixed. After a long day of traveling, this became very frustrating. The lighting in the room was also extremely poor — it was difficult to even see properly, and only one additional lamp was working. The TV remote was missing the back cover as well, which made the room feel poorly maintained.

In addition, one of the front desk employees wore very heavy makeup and came across as rude and unwelcoming whenever we interacted with her. Overall, the level of professionalism and hospitality was inconsistent. I also noticed a difference in how some guests were greeted and treated compared to others, which made the experience even more uncomfortable.

Overall, this stay did not meet my expectations, and I believe the hotel could do a much better job with customer

The hotel definitely needs a major upgrade. From my understanding, the property was built in 1984, and it shows in many areas. However, the rooms were clean and the AC worked very well, which made the stay comfortable. With some renovations and updates, this hotel could be a really great place to stay.

Check in time was 4:30pm-didn't get in my room until 5pm (due to key card not working). With a check out 11am ? Not a quiet and comfortable place to sit relax outside . I don't think fair to charge for 24 hour rate then ask customer to only use 17 . Nothing there i will miss. The place was over valued , a few more $$'s at an upgraded hotel would have much been. (Pics tricked me good) Lol

My stay was great ,I would have given 5 stars except the cook didn't show up 1 morning , 1 of the waitress was kinda rude because I sent burnt food back , I was told I didn't have to pay for it because I sent it back and didn't want it anymore ,I was brought out a new plate , long story short I payed for it and the property just needs an good investor to open back up the game room, spa etc.... some updates ,But otherwise I wood stay again .

The staff is very rude. Nisha did not greet us when we walked into the hotel she had us standing there for about 7 minutes before she even acknowledge us. When you ask a question they roll their eyes like you’re bothering them.
The shower head looked like it hasn’t been clean in months it had mold on it.
When it was time to check out the front desk receptionist Nisha once again didn’t greet us but was on her tablet on FaceTime or a livestream. I had to say something to her because we were heading to the airport and had no time to waiting on her. I would not recommend this hotel.
The only good thing I could say is that the AC did keep the room nice and cool.

There must have been a clean room before that! Otherwise, the accommodations were as to be expected, and all personnel were lovely to deal with.

Unbeknownst to me, my room had been switched to another room and I was yelled at by housekeeping to leave immediately. When I went downstairs to inquire they told me I needed to pay the difference for the room and they had no record of me being on the premises. Had it not been for the fact that I was barely at the hotel, I would have left that first day.

Front Staff were helpful. Security helped me make my plans and get the good taxis.
The building is older, no bells and whistles. Cant tell if its dingy because its old Or dingy because it isnt clean. Location is ideal, near to port and near to airport and reasonably close to Emerald Beach (by taxi for a couple of bucks). Also behind a gate with security, in case you need t9 feel the added security (I didnt).
Walking distance to local grocery store AND shops for your travel shopping. Dont book if you re looking for luxury stay.

This was a very disappointing stay. The hotel feels extremely low-budget and lacks even the most basic amenities you would expect. The WiFi barely works, and the TV doesn’t connect properly, which made it frustrating to relax in the room. The bathroom was also poorly stocked no shampoos or basic toiletries provided, which is something most places include without question.

The overall condition of the room felt neglected, and the experience from the moment we arrived didn’t improve things. The check-in process was unwelcoming, and it honestly felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests.

For the price, this hotel falls far below expectations. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you have absolutely no other option.

This is a great place and a great value. If I could change only one little thing it would be to get the water in the shower a little more hot; it’s not cold but not quite hot—a little over lukewarm. I’m sure this could be a quick fix from a maintenance engineer. There is a little road noise, as well, which you can’t help being that close to the main road. Overall, it is a really great hotel that is easy to get to and close to everything (ferry, airport, restaurants/shops, and my work. I travel every other month for work, and I will likely stay again (if they can heat up the water a little ;0).

Theyre cheap for a reason. Bathroom was outdated. Came for dinner at 845 but chef said nomore cooking. It says theyre open till 10 soooo. On the 3/4th day, we came to no housekeeping. My stay at Winward Hotel was unfortunately disappointing. While the location is great and very convenient, the overall experience did not meet expectations. The property was a bit deceiving based on its appearance, and the room itself did not feel clean or well-maintained.

I had concerns that my particular room may have had bed bugs, which made it difficult to relax and fully enjoy the stay. Additionally, the shower was not clean, which was another major downside.

With that being said, the hotel does have potential because of its prime location, but it could definitely use a thorough deep cleaning and a remodel or “pick-me-up.” Until improvements are made, I would be hesitant to stay here again.

Don't plan on getting access to your room right away! We arrived 3 hrs. early and asked to check our bags as the room was not yet ready. We returned at check in time and still had to wait an additional 1.5 hrs. for check in.

The room itself was fine.

The bar on site did not opened until 5:30 pm and the restaurant was less than desirable in atmosphere, quality of food and more.

the best thing about this Hotel is that it is walking distance from the Charolotte Amilie Ferry. If you're taking an early ferry and don't mind walking to town it may work for you.

We checked in at 6 p.m. and our room wasn’t ready. We had to wait about 25 min for a room. The air conditioning did not cool properly. We reported it to the front desk, they said that engineering would look at, but it was never fixed. We didn’t have a hair dryer in the room and were told that there was a shortage of hairdryers. They brought a travel size hairdryer that was at the end of its life and started smelling like it was burning as soon as I plugged it in.

The location of the hotel is pretty good, but it is definitely outdated and probably understaffed.

The only issue I had is the lack of food options available in the area near the hotel. The hotel has so much potential and needs an owner who cares about the property. When that happens, the hotel will easily become 5 stars. The restaurant on the property closed down a year ago and needs to be revamped.

A pair of my shorts fell from my balcony, and I immediately notified hotel staff, clearly explaining the exact location where the item had landed. I was initially told by staff that nothing had been found. However, after I insisted and reiterated the precise location, the same item was suddenly “found” and returned by the same staff who had previously denied seeing it.
This situation is concerning, as it raises questions about the handling of guest property and the accuracy of staff communication. While I am relieved the item was ultimately returned, the circumstances surrounding the situation were unprofessional and unsettling.

The hotel is located is situated in the capital which is a great and historic area with a nearby ferry, picturesque views, various activities and friendly, helpful locals. I stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was amazing. The rooms were comfortable. I liked that the hotel offered self-parking. There were also a few food options close by including a small market. The hotel also has a restaurant on the premises. There is also a coffee stand less than 3 blocks away which opened at 6am. Overall I stayed here since it was centrally located.

Bay view from the room was nice on some mornings seaplanes would land in the bay waking us up in the early morning. We asked one of the front desk workers if she could take a picture of us seeing that the lobby was empty with no else checking in and she seemed bothered by our request.
