A lot of stairs. Room was not cleaned upon request. Same sheets/towels for 9 days. Had to request toilet paper. Have stayed at several places in the area and I have never rated anything this horrible. Could not wait to leave. Parking was always a challenge. Pool was very nice. Breakfast was special. First day bagel was moldy. Offers bagels muffins jello bananas cranberry juice and coffee. Sometimes cereals. No milk.

Very shady neighborhood, 50+ steps uphill + uphill sidewalks to get to check-in. At almost 70 that was a treat for two travelers with luggage. Could have easily pulled the door open as it had a very poor lock. Extremely small. Worst bed we’ve ever slept in, should have been replaced 10 years ago. No close restaurants or bars. Staff was very pleasant and the room was clean.

Sitting on the veranda for their breakfast was a great way to start the day and choices included Fresh fruit, granola bars, yogurt, oatmeal & yummy New York bagels and coffee, tea or hot chocolate and juice. This B&B is in the hills so expect a lot of stairs (great daily workout). Parking was adequate! Loved our room and balcony overlooking the Charlotte Amalie harbor. Overall, very happy with our choice of accommodations. A little rustic but certainly suited our need for central location on the island. Thx Sonia and Saida:)

We stayed here four years ago and the Galleon House felt quaint and charming. Now it's just old and falling apart. We had no hot water! The bathmat was little more than a rag. Fortunately, the air conditioning worked! The breakfast is \"continental\" meaning granola bars, instant oatmeal, and toast. The building looks like it is falling apart. I cannot recommend staying here.

51 steps just to get to check in - your screwed if you have luggage . More steps if you have a room with a view I think it was another 16 . THE bed I think was from 1980s , two people laying on it , no choose your snuggling bed dips in . Be ready to hear rooster all day and dog barking all night and day long . You can buy drinks and snacks / bottles of water chips , honey buns assorted boxed junk . The pool another maybe 20 steps to get in . No railing on pool . Fence around pool rusted in sooo many places . Overall sketchy DO NOT recommend!!!!!

The site shows that the have a restaurant and the didn’t. It says 40 steps and out room was 60 steps. It says breakfast today from 8-930 and when we got there at 9 there was no coffee, or cream cheese and the fruit was gone. It was very disappointing. And an awful experience. Hated it! The worst part is we got our friends to stay with us and it was such a disappointment!

Love that it is walkable from the Fast Ferry, Definiteyly not a place for anyone with mobility issues, due to all the stairs, but the views were great. Our room was clean and comfortable. No it is not but it was clean and the water pressure was good. The room was clean. They could use a new mattress in the room I had but I slept through the night on it just fine. I booked this property last minute when I decided to extend my stay. I was originally staying at Bunker Hill which is right next door with a connecting hallway between them. The property was beautiful, the staff was very friendly, and the rooms were clean. My only complaint is that during my stay the water was very low pressure/completely out in my room so I had to use the shared bathroom. In my opinion, I feel like I shouldn’t have had to pay for a room with a private bathroom if I still had to use a community bathroom my whole stay, but that’s okay. Also, this didn’t concern me but I know it concerned some other guests, the stairs to enter this hotel goes out to the main road so basically anyone can just walk onto the property with no type of security or door to get through. But as a solo female traveler, I had no issues in my 2 day stay. If the connecting gate is unlocked, I suggest you go to Bunker Hill hotel for dinner, the service and food is amazing. Overall, this was a good place for me as someone who would rather save on money than have luxuries.

Not wheelchair accessible, on a hill so be prepared to climb some stairs. Water pressure issues at times but be patient it comes back . What a great spot. Just a 2 min. walk to the I❤️STT sign and all the options in Charlotte Amaile for shopping and dining, not to mention the ease of access to the safari buses and cabs! A simple morning breakfast on the patio overlooking the surroundings and a few good viewpoints to see the bay, you are ready for the day of exploring and enjoying the island! The family that runs the Galleon are full of knowledge, help, and insight for whatever you might want to do on your visit. Getting around from. Here is a breeze, and if you rent a car there is good parking out front. For those who like to see the history of a place they visit, you're in a good spot with lots of landmarks around, including 99 Steps, the Emancipation Monument, the Brittania House, Fort Christian, and others. If you're up for a hike, it's about 3.5mi to Magens Bay Beach. Our trip was to go snorkelling for my Daughter's spring break and since we had our own gear, we chose to ride the safari bus since we had no schedule to hold to. We visited Spahire Beach one day, Red Hook to go to St. John's Maho Beach another, and Brewers Bay (get off at the USVI university and walk over the hill) to swim with Turtles and Rays on another day, keeping the cost low on transportation.

The location is great for Charlotte Amalie and the price is affordable. It is reminiscent of European hostels with a share bathroom for some rooms and a light continental breakfast each morning. Galleon House is set into the hillside in a rustic, multi-level property. Be prepared to walk up a lot of stairs with your luggage. We enjoyed the authenticity of our humble room even though the mattress was quite saggy. I would not be surprised to learn that Galleon House was once a pirate hotspot.

Lack of street signs made it extremely irritating to find the place. At least they could put a sign down by the main road of the street name or better yet, the name of this place with an arrow pointing to the street. As seniors, this is not the place to stay because it takes close to 80 steps to get to the lobby and if you have a room in the upper buildings, probably another 50. Forget carrying luggage and there was NO ONE TO HELP. The so called breakfast was must laid out and I challenge anyone to try to cut a bagel with a plastic knife. This place is a pile of rocks and building from colonial era and is interesting, but no literature on the history. Also when asked for a map of the town with places to visit, zilch. They need to communicate clearly about the rooms and steps required to get to them. WE saw mostly young couples with backpacks rather then elders. So please say this is like a hostle.
