Was in town with the family for 6 nights. The staff is wonderful. Everyone was so nice to us, everyone from the office workers to the restaurant staff at Caribbean Fussion. Special shout out to our guy Lincoln. Served us many nights. Wonderful memories at a wonderful place.

The staff is the shining star of Emerald Resort. The resort is in need of updating, it has a great location and all the rooms face the beach but it is rundown. Which gives off as not being clean. At breakfast one of my travel companions' breakfast came with butter packets and one of the butter packets had already been used. Plus the sugar bowl had empty packets in it and the jelly packets had food smeared on the bottom which says they reuse them for other guests.

If your idea of a vacation includes being awake all night, this is the place for you.

A rooster perched right outside my window started crowing at 12:30 AM and didn’t stop until 5:00 AM. I got maybe 2 hours of sleep. This is not “local charm”—it’s completely unacceptable.

At 4:00 AM I went to the front desk asking for another room. Esther told me nothing was available. That was false. I saw multiple empty rooms myself, and the next morning overheard the manager (Marsha) confirming they were in fact available. They will all cover for each other and lie. Can you imagine they’re getting paid to stay up all night but you’re not ! How hard would it have been to move us to another room? Esther‘sresponse was someone needs to call animal control. How about you? Do your job and care about your customers needs.

Security (Frankie) refused to help at all, offering excuses instead of doing anything useful—even though the problem was right outside my room. I told him the rooster was right in the tree and he said I can’t step on the beach. We don’t own it..

Their solution? A $50 credit on a $200+ stay and about the same in food and drinks. Knowing I didn’t sleep. A joke. The manager could care less at this facility if you sleep at all.

So to summarize: no sleep, dishonest staff, and zero accountability. Plenty of better places to stay—choose one of those. They clearly do not care about their customers… Do better..

The beach and swimming area was great. Some suggestions I would make: live music, spa service, laundry service, get rid of the automatic 18% gratuity, staff would be more diligent about their service, inform that you will be bombarded by cruise ship passengers on the beach, put in freshwater showers to rinse off after you get out of the ocean, provide fresh ice water in a large container so guest can refill their cups rather than charging $3.00 a bottle, update the menu (steak was on it but they did not have it), get rid or the roosters, chickens, and cats (I was awakened every morning between 3:00 & 5:00 am.

Hotel staff gave us great recommendations for local restaurants off the beaten path, the view from our room patio was perfect every morning with palm trees, ocean waves and sunshine. Being right on the beach for our honeymoon was our favorite part of the stay! We absolutely loved our stay there—perfect size and amenities for us.

The resort is dated but my understanding is there are new owners and improvements are in the future. I would suggest anyone steer clear of building 2. Most beach views are hidden be trees full of roosters who crow at all hours. Very disturbing. Service is slow in all areas of this resort. Once out of the room. The beach is beautiful. There is currently a green eyesore docked out in the water and it is also very close to the airport so there are planes flying over head. All in all, it did what we needed it to do for this trip but will not return to this resort if we are looking for peace and quiet.

I wont stay here again. This is not a 4 or 5 star resort. Its 3 AT BEST. This Restaurant service IS HORRIBLE. The servers are HORRIBLE. We ate there 3 times because its the only restaurant or option unless you pay for a cab. Nothing else in walking distance. Every time the service was horrible. Took for ever. They messed up the check 2 times. The Pool is ok. The rooms are ok. The grounds are ok. The only thing that is above average is the beach in certain areas but its very crowded.
I would not recommend or stay here again.

Could be such a nice property, It’s totally run down, dirty rooms. No beach towels, when request, phone in room didn’t work. Coffee machine dirty, ice machine, dirty. No good restaurant service. Dusty ceiling fan above head. Completely horrible. The best thing and only good thing was the view.

Room was clean. There is no elevator and we were put on the 3rd floor for basically an overnight stay. The front desk staff advised us that the shops were open on Sunday but after a taxi ride into town found out they all close early-what a waste of money. The wait staff in the restaurant were not very friendly. Would not recommend this hotel.

La señora de limpieza decidió no limpiar mi habitación porque le pedí que pasara a medio día yo me estaba preparando para una boda donde pasarían por mi a las 11am y ella dijo que después de medio día no limpiaría mi habitación porque ella solo limpiaba las habitaciones que estaban vacías después de medio día.
Entre otras muchas cosas. Pero no quiero repartir mala energía en este chat. Pero si hay mucho por mejorar en el servicio al cliente.

The hotel was good for a couple nights, but I would probably look elsewhere if I were to visit again. The close proximity to the airport is nice as it only requires a short walk, but you will hear planes all day every day flying above, even in your room. Rooms are not ready early so if you fly in before check in, be prepared to leave your luggage in the hallway behind the front desk. Perhaps bring a change of clothes so you can enjoy the beach until your room is ready. The signage at the resort as it relates to the restaurant and bar have old information and the hours are not as late as stated. This goes for the information binders in the room as well. The room was clean overall except for the bathroom, which still had hair on the walls. The onsite restaurant was hit or miss. Like I said, the hours listed were wrong so I almost missed dinner one night but thankfully they let me place a takeout order. It's pretty pricey but you're kind of stuck because there's nothing else around unless you're going to take a taxi. Menus are scarce, the food is inconsistent, and staff is not attentive. I understand it's a cheaper option than others around the island, but when charging over $300 a night, I expect a little better.

Resort was old and needs work. I love the view of the ocean but staff was not helpful or friendly. Our TV did not work. I heard another customer stating their shower didn't work. Overall the outside of the property needs a makeover. The rooms were not bad. Close to airport but have to taxi everywhere which is 15 mins or more away and taxi charge per person so that became expensive. Would not stay there again.

Emerald Bay Beach Resort is highlighted by an amazing beach. The resort itself, rooms and grounds would really benefit from a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. We were very thankful that the front desk staff allowed us to check in at 10:30 am. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff on property were just ok. Not very friendly. It is very convenient for flying out the next day as it is right next to the airport. Because of that, it can get very noisy at times. Overall, a good stay, but there were definitely some opportunities missed by the staff that could have made our stay much better.

Our stay at Emerald Beach Resort was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The room itself was mediocre at best, but the beds and pillows were absolutely awful—easily some of the most uncomfortable we’ve ever experienced.

The bigger issue was the complete lack of basic functionality and service. The phone in our room didn’t work at all (no dial tone), and the TV wouldn’t load Netflix. We reported both issues on day one and followed up every single day of our 7-day stay. Not once were these problems resolved.

We spend our days out exploring and expect to come back and relax in the evenings. Instead, we were met with ongoing issues and zero follow-through. Being told repeatedly that something will be taken care of—and then having nothing done for an entire week—is unacceptable.

This was a complete failure in both maintenance and customer service. I would not stay here again.

The place was FILTHY, Food service was bad beyond belief, they never cleaned the dinner tables, CATS on the dinner table, over run by chikens, with chicken poop everywhere. They would tak mop water from the rooms and pour it on the sidewalks so you could walk in it. DISGUSTING!!!

Staff was rude, when you get vouchers for drinks etc, they said multiple times, I don't have time for that, paying customers only. Then when redirected by front desk with more vouchers, to be told go to a different place to redeem them, even when it says in () not redeemed at the place they send you. There were never enough pool/beach towels, only would give 1-2 at a time to say about 30-45 min for more to check back an hour or longer and still no towels. The rooms are outdated and hot, the room service starts knocking on your door at 8:00 AM to clean, if you ask for a little more time, they won't come back. Same with the towel situation, there were 3 of us and we would be given only 2 wash clothes and had to wait on bath towels. The shower wouldn't drain and you'd be showering in ankle deep water. The TV wouldn't work, when we called the front desk we were told, should have called earlier. Who stays in their room during the day at an island? The wifi, don't count on it to work either. The room phone wasn't even plugged in, the cord was cut and had open electrical outlets that weren't closed or covered. I've never stayed in a resort that was this unprofessional and if you are in a hurry, don't recommend. It takes forever we're talking hours to get waited on.

The restaurant and bar area are in close proximity to the rooms. There are plenty of taxi options for touring the island Rachel at the front desk deserves a special mention as does \"The Cat\" man. They made our stay extra special.

For how close this is to the airport, it really is a slice of paradise. There are no late flights so the sound doesn't bother you except during the day. The beach is immaculate, the bar and restaurant are more laid back than they appear in photos, but honestly it was nice. The prices are astronomical for food, but it really is your only option without driving so you pay for convenience. The room was absolutely beautiful, but we did note the long walk and lack of accessibility. They feed their stray cats there actual cat food and care for them which was a huge plus for us. The pool was beautiful as well. Would love to stay here again!

There are pros and cons (as to anything) but as a handicap person with multiple sclerosis the bar did not serve food as scheduled and I’m sure that is a kitchen issue or a management issue the girls in the bar during the daytime have no customer service. The pool has damage to the brick on the inside, where the water is which to me should be maintained. Also, the resort allows a person. I don’t know if he works there or if he doesn’t but he is a nuisance and when you tell him to leave you alone, he doesn’t in the resort does nothing

I was so disappointed after checking in to Emerald Beach. The property is need of an overhaul. Everything was breaking, grounds filled with weeds, coffee pot and phone not working in the room. Room not too clean. The only good thing about the resort was the beach and scenery. Everything else was subpar at best.

I recently stayed at Emerald Beach Resort and wanted to share feedback about my experience, specifically regarding the restaurant and pool service.

While the location itself is beautiful, the service was extremely disappointing. Each time I visited the restaurant or bar, it took 10–15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me. This happened consistently, not just once. What made the situation more frustrating is that a service charge/tip is already included, yet the level of service did not reflect that at all.

Additionally, at the pool area, there was a staff member who appeared to work in the kitchen approaching guests and speaking to them in a loud and aggressive manner because they forgot to lock the pool door. Instead of creating a relaxing environment, it felt tense and unpleasant.

Overall, while the property itself is beautiful, the service and overall guest experience need serious improvement. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future guests can have a better experience.

Great little resort. Front desk staff was not it. There was one woman that was very kind, but the other younger front desk staff were extremely rude, zero recommendations and made me feel like I was bothering them when asking simple questions. Our room was pretty good, phone did not work but we didn’t really care. The beach is beautiful but one of the days there was flooding from the rain and thy released all the dirty parking lot water right into the ocean - making it pretty gross the rest of the day. Location was great, right next to airport and 8 mins from charlotte amalie. We would def go back tho - I liked the area better here then where sapphire / margaritaville was.

While the property and location were excellent, our stay was significantly impacted when the air conditioning stopped working overnight. Maintenance could not resolve the issue, and sleeping in a hot room was very uncomfortable. We did not receive any compensation, which was disappointing

We had a horrible stay. The staff was rude. The restaurant often had wait times of the three hours for food. Things in the rooms were broken and when we called no one ever came, they did not have any place to get snacks or drinks nonalcoholic besides vending machine machines which subsequently also stopped working at one point.

Pros: Beautiful beach on property, sunset views, 12 min walk to/fro airport. Clean room, helpful desk staff, taxi pick up on property. Little cafe on grounds to grab a coffee and express breakfast. Restaurant and bar overlooking the beach is nice Cons: Need to taxi everywhere (and that added up - CASH ONLY). Most food in the area is overpriced and very average (including hotel food). There didn't seem to be any place nearby with a more animated nighttime vibe. We learned that more of the \"action\" is on the other side of the island (ie Red Hook area) . So if you are looking for a nicer night time vibe this place may not be for you. Since we are early birds we were happy enough with quiet evenings, grabbing a drink at the beach bar, and walking right to our room after.

We stayed at The Emerald Beach Resort from 3/10 through 3/17. From check-in to check-out the staff was fantastic. The grounds were well maintained and our room was clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was consistently good and the portions were more than ample. Some of the previous reviews complained about the slow service and they thought the meals were expensive. Yes, the service was slow at times but you’re on vacation what’s your rush. Just sit back have a drink and enjoy the view. The only criticism I had about the restaurant, and it’s minor, is the menu is limited. It would be nice if they would vary it some and maybe have some daily specials.
This seems to be an older property and in need of some modernization, Although our room looked like it was recently renovated.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone planning a St. Thomas vacation. We would definitely stay here again.

The ocean is 10 feet from the tables of the restaurant, with beach in between. The beach itself was very nice, lots of activity, jet skis, the Taco Taxi, etc. The waves were solid and it was very pleasant to sit near and relax.

The resort is in a nice location, the pool is close to the restaurant and beach as well, all conveniently located close together.

The hotel rooms themselves were fine. All rooms have an ocean view and are reasonably new and in fairly good shape. Our mini-split AC unit had trouble keeping up with the afternoon/evening sun, so our room was quite warm at bed time, but cool again by morning.

The hotel buildings are old, and in general most of the property has quite a bit of deferred maintenance. None if it wrecked the stay, but it was obvious that the resort was under staffed and is struggling to keep things in shape. As other reviews have shared, the restaurant was good, but the service is slow. If you're not in a hurry and are just relaxing, it's no big deal.

Everyone was very nice, and the front desk ladies were incredibly helpful with the advice they shared on beating the lines at TSA and making our flight on time. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend the place for a few days stay. Much longer and you'd run out of things to do.

The room was very nice. Our first floor balcony was right on the beach. The staff was wonderful and the grounds are pretty. Location was really close to Charlotte Amalie. 5 minutes from airport. The planes were not a bother at all. Brewers beach is 5 minutes away and a great beach.

Resort was poorly staffed for the restraunts and bar. Beach Bar closing at 9pm seems to leave lots of possible revenue for the resort

The hotel is an older property but was in good shape. The only two issues were the fact that there’s no elevator and the shower in our room was impossible to keep at a constant temperature, it was either extremely hot or extremely cold. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend.

The property itself could use some TLC, the grounds had trash laying around. We stayed just to be convenient to the airport and it served that purpose and I’d probably do it again however, I would not vacation at this property.

On the beach and beach chairs available, thanks to a vendor that take care of them for the hotel. Nice looking pool area. Front desk will assist in getting taxi. Plan on waiting a hour or more at the restaurant for anything. The bar will give you better service and the coffee shack.

The property was a little dated can definitely use upgrades . The bar area was nice the service was extremely slow. The room was dirty when we arrived stained sheets dirty floor and bathroom however once we spoke to the front they did clean it . The lady at the front desk was really nice .Overall it was good.

The sats on the pool was dirty and the area not not kept clean. I was unable to print my boarding pass because the
the printer was not working. The entire system was dirty not cleaned for months. Full of dust.

The staff were rude, the service at the restaurant were rude the taxi driver threw the wooden step stool into the taxi and it landed on my foot.

Terrible & rude staff that would walk right past you and not acknowledge you at all. Not to mention, they add an automatic 18% gratuity to all drinks and meals, which we wouldn’t mind paying if the staff was friendly or prompt.
The A/C did not work correctly and made e terrible noise all night long.
