From start to finish the visit and staff were great. Got there alittle early around 130pm and Shareese checked us in early plus gave us discounted drink tkts and one free rum punch tkt for mom since she heard it was her birthday. The server bartender Randy was amazing at the restaurant, he was quick, got familiar with our drinks of choices, hotel a Dominican DJ on friday night great vibes. Hotel views are breathtaking and hotel itself had lots of cute places to take pics to take pics.

I had a fantastic stay. I loved this hotel. I stayed during a 3 night solo trip. This is not a “fancy” hotel by any means, but it is very nice, beautiful, comfortable, and accommodating. My room was very nice. King size bed was very comfortable. I had a balcony and a perfect view of the sea. The housekeeping was great. Front desk staff was warm, friendly, accommodating. Beach access was great. I arrived on a Sunday. The beach was very chill and not crowded at all Sunday or Monday. Tuesday the cruise ship people arrived and it did get very crowded during the day. They left in the late afternoon/early evening. Wednesday was busy by 10am due to the cruise people. That was kind of annoying but unavoidable. The annoyance was more so not being able to get a seat at the bar and slower food service. There’s only one restaurant on site, which is where I ate all my meals, so this affected me a bit. My only other complaint was the roosters crowing non stop starting at 4:45am but I just turned my tv volume up and went back to sleep. I gave 5 stars because overall I felt the resort earned that!

All of the staff were always helpful and pleasant including the taxi drivers. Taco taxi is a must so much fun. You do need a dry bag to swim from the boat to the restaurant. Snorkel while your there totally awesome and worth every dime.

I would not recommend anyone to stay at the Emerald Beach Resort. They did let us check in an hour early which was the only good part about the stay. We arrived on 5/27 and the 1st night my daughter was bit by something and her upper lip was swollen. We were told by jalonna we had to check out and wait for the room to be inspected before we could get another room. Essentially we lost 4 hours of time in our room at the resort.
The 2nd room didn’t have running water. So we were given a 3rd room that didn’t have an iron or hairdryer dryer. Couldn’t fall the front desk because the phone didn’t work so we had to walk. They didn’t clean the room the next day or refresh our rags or towels, instead someone went inside and stole a shirt out of my luggage. It was a matching set and what was supposed to be the clothes I wore home on the plane. SMH.
Staff was not very helpful in the situation saying they’re going to do an investigation but the manager has been sick and they were not sure when she would be back. I was leaving the next morning. When checking out they gave no receipt saying because I booked with Expedia, but they have a hold on my card for incidentals. I want to see what they charge because I have a video of us entering the room and one on us leaving and how we left it. The experience on the island was phenomenal but the resort would get 0 stars from me.
The bar staff is also not friendly if your using the coupon the resort gives you for B1G1 free drinks.

Overall, my stay was pleasant and relaxing. While I did not partake in any excursions, many were offered. The staff was friendly and very hospitable. One morning our group arrived to the dining area early and the server was running late. The chef/cook took initiative to take our orders and start cooking until the server came. We really appreciated that. Expect to pay a little more for services because convenience after all will cost you! Easy access to beach, pool and bar was the best part of my time there. If you dont have a lot of bags and dont mind walking, you can literally walk to this resort. Roughly 12 minutes! Overall, you will enjoy your time here whether you come alone or with family and friends!

Well first of all, the property is beautiful but needs basic upkeep. Noone cleaned our room the entire stay. I saw trash that was there when I arrived and still there when I left 4 days later. The pool was dirty on arrival and dirty when I left. The service at the restaurant on the property was lacking. The front desk staff were awesome but the rest appeared to dislike tourists.

Spent 4nights and it was beautiful close to beach great views. The only thing I didn’t like was the restaurant and bar closed early like 9pm so if u didn’t have food by then you will starve and if you did have food there was no microwave to heat the food up.

This property was ok . Upon check in the gals at the front desk were nice, we asked for an early check in and a room with a view and were able to get an early check in. The room unfortunately was behind a huge tree with minimal view of the ocean. I went down to ask for a room move with a view and was asked to come back later.
We just ended up keeping this room because we were ready to hit the beach.

Parking was easy and safe. The bar offered great choices. Had a problem with the television but maintenance came in a timely manner and repaired the issue. All around it is a very staisfying resort.

I think due to having the gratuity built it in has made the restaurant staff not care or have to try to do a good job due to a guaranteed tip. Due to this we would not stay at this resort again, I would strongly reconsider having the gratuity built into the restaurant bill.

Such a great and peaceful anniversary vacation for my girlfriend and I , The room overlooking the beach was incredible! ONLY downfall is the price of food and drinks while the size is inconsistent but nonetheless both food and drinks were good . If you want affordable prices for food and drinks you have to go to the local areas . I will be back I really enjoyed being able to smoke and drink while watching the waves sitting on the beach ! I love that the resort was right on the beach. I also love the close distance to the airport. and the easy access getting taxi. The shower could have been a little cleaner. It seems like the bath need new grout. It was a bit dirty in the corners and there was also hair from previous guests. The room and linen were clean and cleaning staff was easily accessable for new linens. One thing that was shocking to me was that there are iguanas along side the pool and close to the entrance of our building. I think the resort should have signs about such animals for people who are not iguana friendly. The ceiling of the main lobby needs some serious cleaning. It is filled with cobweb. You want to be careful where you are walking or will be bringing chicken poop up to the room with you. The restaurant was nice, great views and we had Paul most days and he was a hoot. The smell of pot was everywhere we went around the property couldn't really get away from it. Our room was right above where they rent the jet ski and was worse there. On cruise days the beach is pretty crowded. If you are using this place as base camp and pretty much just sleeping there it is a great price. Close to airport. Close to down town. Taxis are in and out all day, so if you didn't rent a car I think you would get a ride pretty easy. All in all enjoyed our stay here.

The staff is the shining star of Emerald Resort. The resort is in need of updating, it has a great location and all the rooms face the beach but it is rundown. Which gives off as not being clean. At breakfast one of my travel companions' breakfast came with butter packets and one of the butter packets had already been used. Plus the sugar bowl had empty packets in it and the jelly packets had food smeared on the bottom which says they reuse them for other guests.

A rooster perched right outside my window started crowing at 12:30 AM and didn’t stop until 5:00 AM. I got maybe 2 hours of sleep. This is not “local charm”—it’s completely unacceptable.
At 4:00 AM I went to the front desk asking for another room. Esther told me nothing was available. That was false. I saw multiple empty rooms myself, and the next morning overheard the manager (Marsha) confirming they were in fact available. They will all cover for each other and lie. Can you imagine they’re getting paid to stay up all night but you’re not ! How hard would it have been to move us to another room? Esther‘sresponse was someone needs to call animal control. How about you? Do your job and care about your customers needs.
Security (Frankie) refused to help at all, offering excuses instead of doing anything useful—even though the problem was right outside my room. I told him the rooster was right in the tree and he said I can’t step on the beach. We don’t own it..
Their solution? A $50 credit on a $200+ stay and about the same in food and drinks. Knowing I didn’t sleep. A joke. The manager could care less at this facility if you sleep at all.
So to summarize: no sleep, dishonest staff, and zero accountability. Plenty of better places to stay—choose one of those. They clearly do not care about their customers… Do better..

The beach and swimming area was great. Some suggestions I would make: live music, spa service, laundry service, get rid of the automatic 18% gratuity, staff would be more diligent about their service, inform that you will be bombarded by cruise ship passengers on the beach, put in freshwater showers to rinse off after you get out of the ocean, provide fresh ice water in a large container so guest can refill their cups rather than charging $3.00 a bottle, update the menu (steak was on it but they did not have it), get rid or the roosters, chickens, and cats (I was awakened every morning between 3:00 & 5:00 am.

The resort is dated but my understanding is there are new owners and improvements are in the future. I would suggest anyone steer clear of building 2. Most beach views are hidden be trees full of roosters who crow at all hours. Very disturbing. Service is slow in all areas of this resort. Once out of the room. The beach is beautiful. There is currently a green eyesore docked out in the water and it is also very close to the airport so there are planes flying over head. All in all, it did what we needed it to do for this trip but will not return to this resort if we are looking for peace and quiet.

We ate there 3 times because its the only restaurant or option unless you pay for a cab. Nothing else in walking distance. Every time the service was horrible. Took for ever. They messed up the check 2 times. The Pool is ok. The rooms are ok. The grounds are ok. The only thing that is above average is the beach in certain areas but its very crowded.

Room was clean. There is no elevator and we were put on the 3rd floor for basically an overnight stay. The front desk staff advised us that the shops were open on Sunday but after a taxi ride into town found out they all close early-what a waste of money. The hotel was good for a couple nights, but I would probably look elsewhere if I were to visit again. The close proximity to the airport is nice as it only requires a short walk, but you will hear planes all day every day flying above, even in your room. Rooms are not ready early so if you fly in before check in, be prepared to leave your luggage in the hallway behind the front desk. Perhaps bring a change of clothes so you can enjoy the beach until your room is ready. The signage at the resort as it relates to the restaurant and bar have old information and the hours are not as late as stated. This goes for the information binders in the room as well. The room was clean overall except for the bathroom, which still had hair on the walls. The onsite restaurant was hit or miss. Like I said, the hours listed were wrong so I almost missed dinner one night but thankfully they let me place a takeout order. It's pretty pricey but you're kind of stuck because there's nothing else around unless you're going to take a taxi. Menus are scarce, the food is inconsistent, and staff is not attentive. I understand it's a cheaper option than others around the island, but when charging over $300 a night, I expect a little better.

Overall the outside of the property needs a makeover. The rooms were not bad. Emerald Bay Beach Resort is highlighted by an amazing beach. The resort itself, rooms and grounds would really benefit from a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. We were very thankful that the front desk staff allowed us to check in at 10:30 am. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff on property were just ok. Not very friendly. It is very convenient for flying out the next day as it is right next to the airport. Because of that, it can get very noisy at times. Overall, a good stay, but there were definitely some opportunities missed by the staff that could have made our stay much better.

The place was FILTHY, Food service was bad beyond belief, they never cleaned the dinner tables, CATS on the dinner table, over run by chikens, with chicken poop everywhere. They would tak mop water from the rooms and pour it on the sidewalks so you could walk in it. DISGUSTING!!!

Staff was rude, when you get vouchers for drinks etc, they said multiple times, I don't have time for that, paying customers only. Then when redirected by front desk with more vouchers, to be told go to a different place to redeem them, even when it says in () not redeemed at the place they send you. There were never enough pool/beach towels, only would give 1-2 at a time to say about 30-45 min for more to check back an hour or longer and still no towels. The rooms are outdated and hot, the room service starts knocking on your door at 8:00 AM to clean, if you ask for a little more time, they won't come back. Same with the towel situation, there were 3 of us and we would be given only 2 wash clothes and had to wait on bath towels. The shower wouldn't drain and you'd be showering in ankle deep water. The TV wouldn't work, when we called the front desk we were told, should have called earlier. Who stays in their room during the day at an island? The wifi, don't count on it to work either. The room phone wasn't even plugged in, the cord was cut and had open electrical outlets that weren't closed or covered. I've never stayed in a resort that was this unprofessional and if you are in a hurry, don't recommend. It takes forever we're talking hours to get waited on.
