The owners are caring and thoughtful. They tracked my flight to ensure that someone was there to greet me. As a solo female traveler, I appreciated the security gate, the small size and the proximity to the ferry. St John is incredibly safe and close-knit. This is a great place to stay and take advantage of all taxis, bus, trails, beaches, restaurants and shops - without needing to rent a car. Thanks Denise, David, Terry and Victoria!

Denise was an amazing host! I absolutely loved the place. Clean, close to the harbor, beaches, hiking, all the restaurants, bars, and shopping in Cruz Bay. I stayed in eight hotels on this trip hopping around the Virgins, and this was by far my favorite property...and the rates were reasonable!

This hotel is the perfect place to stay in Cruz Bay, close to the ferry, close to taxis that take you to various beaches, close to restaurants. We enjoyed eating at La Tapa and The Lime Inn.

Good little hotel, great staff, very close to ferry and shops. Extra included free use of beach chairs, floats and ice. Simple free breakfast consisting of fruit, yogurt and breakfasters. Down side was the lumpy pillows and mattress (both old and worn and uncomfortable) Room was dark with only a tiny window so no natural light. uncontrollable A/C unit. No balcony as shown in photos to dry wet beach clothes. Lovely communal sitting areas for breakfast or evening drinks.

Unique boutique hotel experience in the heart of Cruz Bay. Denise met us when we arrived and was so hospitable throughout our stay. Loved having the continental breakfast and sitting on the upstairs veranda to catch the breeze while we slipped on our coffee. Also used that veranda in the late afternoon for a glass of wine and a chance to unwind after the day. Complimentary beach chairs, beach towels, and beach coolers along with ice and cooler water were nice amenities. The only thing that I think would make it even better is if there was one more shelf or table in the bathroom between the toilet and the sink so there would be some place to put water bottles and lotions.

The property was great- and the staff was too. We were originally supposed to be in an upstairs room but when they saw how much luggage we (over)packed, they sweetly moved us to the first floor. Walking distance to all the restaurants, shopping and ferry port. Note that parking in Cruz Bay is really scarce and kinda procey ($40/day-ish)

I would highly recommend staying at Cruz Bay Boutique to anyone looking for a few nights on St. John. The staff is very welcoming, the location is super convenient (a few minutes from the ferry and taxi hub), and includes coffee/food in the morning to help start your day. There are many restaurants in a walkable area near the hotel, including a fabulous steakhouse called Dave & Jerry's that's literally next door. Be aware that the rooms are fairly small (especially the shower), there is no pool, and that you may need to climb stairs. That said, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the AC worked, and checkin/checkout was hassle free.

I'm not sure where to start!! From the moment we arrived we LOVED this place! From the greeting we received to all the amenities; everything at the hotel were amazing. If there was something we needed we had it! They offered sunscreen, chairs, ice, small coolers, umbrella, after sun care, bug spray, literally anything you might need or want was available if you asked for it! Denise made you feel at home and welcome :) Karen had so many wonderful suggestions for us from parking to locations to visit that we didn't want for anything.

A couple of blocks from Cruz Bay ferry terminal. Easy to get a taxi/surfari and very walkable to restaurants and Lind Point trail which will get you to Solomon and Honeymoon beach via hiking trails. Amenities are thoughtful like bug spray, reef safe sunscreen and even goggle defogger. beach chairs and cooler bags, umbrellas when it rains. Bring a reusable water bottle and you can refill it with their water dispenser and ice available too. Really a place that caters to people with carry on luggage. Staff is so personable that you literally come in as strangers and leave as friends. Rooms are clean and bright with air conditioning and mini fridge. Only wish would be a larger shower.

Cruz Bay Hotel was absolutely wonderful. Denise was so accommodating to all my needs. She picked me up when I got lost getting there. She gave me her sunscreen when I couldn't find mine. The breakfast was filling. Wifi stayed connected. Shower remained hot. AC worked and kept the room cold. And the bed was super comfortable. Did I mention it's in the heart of all the restaurants, shops and festivities! Taxis right down the street to get to the beach. It was such a relaxing time!!! I definitely recommend staying at this hotel. It will be my go to for all my future stays in St. John.

When you are in St John you likely don’t spend a lot of time in your room. This small but very functional and comfortable room is perfectly located. The service superior, with lovely terrace patios for a quick coffee and breakfast (complimentary). No insane hills to climb, and plenty of restaurants. This 15-room hotel is a true gem of Cruz Bay on the island of St. John in the US Virgin Islands. The proprietors operate a very clean and most convenient establishment.
Not only was the hotel’s location convenient, but it offered complimentary beach towels, beach chairs and lounge chairs, on the honor basis and even complimentary sunscreen. Breakfast choices of oatmeal, yogurt, muffins, fresh fruit, and, most importantly coffee, is offered between 7 and 10 AM.
As the primary purpose for my visit was photographing the nearby Virgin Islands National Park, which covers 2/3 of the island, Denise, one of owners, contacted a tour guide vendor on my behalf. This resulted in my obtaining the superb services of Kenneth Marsh, a remarkable and very likable tour guide who, at 82, was born, raised, and has lived most of his life on St. John. He provided a wealth of knowledge on the Park’s history and took me to numerous venues for photo ops throughout the Park. This contact proved invaluable.
Having wrapped up my photo project early, Denise suggested my walking the few minutes to Low Key Watersports where I arranged for 2-tank boat dives on each of two days. The diving was grand with excellent divemasters.

Lovely small hotel in the heart of Cruz Bay. Friendly helpful owners. Rooms are basic but very clean. Nice veranda for morning coffee. Location could not be better. Walkable from the ferry upon arrival. Walkable to many nice restaurants and shopping. We caught nearby cabs to the North shore beaches for the day. It was a wonderful stay. I recommend.
