Room 24. Very old, beat up, rooms in need of a major refresh, repair. Hole on the floor of the room was patched up with a wooden board with a mat thrown over to cover up. Couches and upholstered chairs with stains on them we did not dare sit on or put any of our belongings on. Leak from the bathroom sink. Floor tiles cracked and chipped. Hair dryer not working. Mosquitoes (I guess this is common for island hotel rooms?) are an issue. Lots of stairs and no elevators. If you ok with all of this then it would be a bargain value. The only things keeping this from being a 1 star is the location (proximity to Main St. Charlotte Amalie), the nice staff, and the free breakfast.

Booked 3 rooms for two nights a week apart.
First night one room had no hot water. Second night all 3 rooms had hot water an all six travelers were happy. Restaurant on premises was very good. Breakfast included with room was limited but excellently prepared. Staff was quick and friendly.
Excellent choice.Espesially considering the cost.

We had a party of five, Including two young teen children. We were Surprised to find that we were given a double room on the side of the hotel. (4 queen beds, total, with two separate full bathrooms. It also included a full kitchen, But with minimal supplies to use.) While we lost a good view from the front balcony, we gained a lot of good space, Especially needed since the island received record rain while we were there!! The breakfast was delicious, And the staff extremely friendly! We used the small pool twice . The area itself is not glamorous, but one block away and easy walk to nice downtown shopping and sites like 99 steps and the castle. Totally sad that we forgot they have their own restaurant at the hotel! Ended up spending too much money at one of the only places downtown open late. Next time we will eat at the bunker hill hotel for dinner, If it’s as good as it’s breakfast that is included!

The A/C was adequate but needed maintenance which the staff said they’d provide. The bathroom could use updating and a deep clean. The rest of the room and hotel, small pools, and breakfast nook were nice. It was a unique space and oasis at the end of our trip.

The rooms are very small and close together you can hear everything so it is hard to stay sleep...they dont have an elevator so you have to walk up stairs up to 4 flights if you eat breakfast, the water is luke warm. No microwave inside the room (its up stairs)..the outside of the hotel is very busy due to it being on a main street and parking is horrible due to them not having private parking lot...the staff was nice and the pools are nice and the restaurant was good the beds are soft too they just kinda small im only 5'6 and my feet was hanging off. If you needa cheap quick stay this the place for you..if you need to relax and get some quiet time..you might want to look other places

Spent 5 nights with a friend, we were in the VI celebrating my birthday. Hotel is pretty ran down and outdated, pool is VERY small. Complimentary breakfast was good, you choose from a menu each morning what you would like. Staff was helpful, but I wouldn’t say they were kind. More dismissive than anything. One of the nights the hotel had little to no water pressure and staff arranged for us to shower in an unoccupied room. Inconvenient, but we were thankful to shower after a long day at the beach. Nothing luxury about the bathroom or shower, feels more like a campground than a hotel. The hotel is very close to surrounding buildings and we were woken up multiple times each night by people laughing/shouting/talking right outside of our window. It was a place to lay our heads at night. Nothing more, nothing less.

My STRONG advice is to pay extra for a superior room.

I stayed the economy double and it was not nice. Do not stay in 113, we had roaches in our room. I also stayed in 43 (I think) no roaches. I will upload a picture of our view from 113. Looked at a wall with peeling paint.

Pros of hotel:
- Upper level rooms look nice (Superior rooms)
- Included Breakfast is cooked to order, nice and fast!
- Staff is nice
- Close to town. You can walk to the ferry terminal. save $20 each in cab fare when going to eat or to/from ferry.
- The island lost power and we still had power via a generator. This was not true for all rooms. Those in the middle building above the office and near the restaurant have power.
- It's clean
- AC works good

Cons:
- Roaches in 113
- The hot water is warm enough for a shower but just barely. This was also true for our friends who stayed there in better rooms.
- Towels are marginal, need replacing.
- No elevator and lots of stairs
- Very dated furniture and fixtures

This place is a budget hotel near the downtown and airport. If you want to be near the beach pick one of the many resort hotels. When they say they have parking it is street parking but there was usually a spot not too far from the hotel. Street is very crowded so if you drive make sure you’re comfortable on small streets and parallel parking etc. The breakfast was either pancakes bacon or sausage or eggs your way toast and sausage or bacon. My kids were 3 am 5 and enjoyed The very small pool. I wished o has picked a more resort hotel for our trip but this place was good enough and staff were friendly too.

This is a no frills place to stay, basic amenities and relatively clean. This is not like a resort at all, but it is fairly quiet and charming. Parking is horrible, but that kind of ads to the charm of being in the old part of the city on the island. The location is a bit challenging to find initially, but provided great access for walking to the downtown. What really shines here is the staff, super friendly and accommodating with all of our interactions. Food and drink is good overall. I would definitely stary here again.

The staff here is great, especially LaVerne who works during breakfast and at dinnertime. The breakfast was very nice, made as ordered, loved the tamarind juice! We ate dinner in their restaurant the first evening, the selection was nice and the food very good. We dined with 3 other couples and LaVerne took excellent care of us! The downfall we experienced at this hotel was the room itself. We did not care for the fact that the only lighting we had was a wall sconce near the bathroom & another one without a globe over the lightbulb itself. It was very glaring! The bedside table lamp was broken. We reported it to the front desk, but nothing was done as far as fixing or replacing it before we left! The room was cold enough to be a meat locker! There did not seem to be any way of adjusting the temperature or fan. We had to turn it off and leave it off for awhile inorder to feel comfortable. The downside was that then our clothing and the bedding were damp and still cold!

Stayed at Bunker Hill Hotel and had a great experience. It was actually nicer than I expected based on the listing. The room was clean and very comfortable, and the overall property has a lot of character. Nice pool with a great view. There are quite a few stairs, but that’s pretty typical for the area and part of the charm. One thing to note is that getting there can be a bit confusing—Google Maps tried to send us down some one-way streets the wrong way—so just keep that in mind when arriving.

For the price, it’s a really good value. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed one night to travel between islands. Wanted a clean quiet place with restaurant and bar on site. Poop was tiny but didn’t matter to us. We walked up the steps about a quarter mile hike to Blackbeards Castle which we wanted to see. They have a pool bar and restaurant which any paying guests could utilize much nicer pool. Beautiful view at hotel and castle.

2) The rooms are quite outdated and have very cheap beds and bedding
3) The staff was very friendly and helpful getting taxis called
4) The only reason I didn’t give 2 stars is because the complimentary breakfast is delicious and the breakfast view is nice
5) Overall, I would not stay here again. I would only recommend if you are on a tight budget and it’s $100 or less a night at the time of booking.

Enjoyed this unique property. The layout is interesting with rooms located down various hallways, stairways...was like being in a maze, but it added a lot of charm. Not just a hallway with rooms on each side. Small but cute pool with bar area overlooking it. Nothing fancy, but very quaint hotel in fabulous location within short walk of main StThomas shopping/waterfront strip. Would definetely stay again.

The staff were great and the beds were comfortable. However, my wife and I felt like we were attempting to summit Everest while getting to the room. She counted 64 steps to get up there. That's fine if you're young, but not so much if you're elderly and carrying luggage. There is a complimentary breakfast of 2 eggs cooked as you like with bacon or turkey sausage or you can get pancakes instead of eggs. You also can get coffee or an orange drink (not orange juice). The room was clean, but definitely showing it's age. No bugs though, so acceptable for the price.

The staff were excellent! Laverne and reception(sorry I forgot your name😜) were so accommodating and kind. We had a large group of 5 couples and everyone loved their accommodations. Of course the only complaint would be the stairs. If you can’t do stairs I would recommend staying somewhere with an elevator. It was worth the stairs to stay at this very friendly little boutique hotel. Also, the food at the restaurant is wonderful!

Unfortunately we were unable to make our reservation due to flight delays...called the staff to let them know...no answer. Called a 2nd time, left a VM, asked for a return call...nothing.

Used messaging several times to let them know...no response. Asked for someone to respond...nothing.

I understand we had to forfeit our room and the fee for an entire night due to their strict policy, but I would have preferred to have a conversation with someone as they were in a position to resell the room to another party AND keep our nightly fee as well.

Very disappointed in the lack of acknowledgement from the staff for anything at all.

The room was not quite what was in the pictures. I didn’t have my hopes to high as they looked a bit dated. But the couch had stains the room was just not well cleaned. Way overpriced for what it is. We didn’t even get enough towels for the four people staying in the room. The front desk said the couldn’t give us anymore.

The staff was very nice but the hotel itself is quite run down compared to North American or European standards. Perhaps we were expecting too much and perhaps for the USVI this type of hotel is the norm, but for the money spent, it felt like we were staying at a cheap roadside Motel 6 that should have cost $50 max.. paint was flaking, doors had rotten bottoms and did not close, WiFi barely worked, can't drink the tap water (it was yellow) so you need to buy plastic bottles at $2 each, hot water was scarce.. you get the picture. But it was clean, did not see any bugs, and the beds were OK.. again cudos to the staff. Oh and the pools are hilariously small.. like 8x8 feet at most, and there are tons of narrow stairs to climb with your suitcases. We stayed twice for one night each on our way to and from BVI and it was fine for that but don't book this as your getaway destination. The free breakfast was actually really nice and offset some of the hotel cost as food and drinks in general are very expensive on the island. The hotel is located on a busy side street a short walk from the shopping area and harbor. A taxi to the airport costs $15 per person.

We rated the stay excellent mainly because of some of the staff. Joann was great at helping us with a couple of issues and was very friendly. The man that checked us in on the first day was very helpful, even helped to carry your bags up to our rooms. And the star of our stay was Rose, she was everywhere, breakfast, housekeeping and even saw her in the evening at the restaurant. She always had a smile on her face and was very polite and friendly!

This is a budget hotel so if you dont expect too much you wont be disappointed. Note that there are many steps, 69 total if you are on the 3rd floor, although not all of the steps were at once. There were many landings to break up the climb.
I liked the hotel was a 5 minute walk to downtown. There are only 2 parking spaces at the hotel. We had no problem finding street parking. The breakfast was decient and the rooms were very clean. I liked that there was no smoking allowed at the pool.

Three stars is a very strong rating. If it wasn’t for the nice people, it would definitely be two stars. The hotel is quite dumpy looking with absolutely zero curb appeal. It’s in an old run down ‘hood and the hotel looks the part itself. The online pictures are very misleading. The room was clean but not appealing. It is in a good location but that’s its best feature. BH is an economy hotel with not much else except a very nice staff and good location.

The staff is very courteous, and the rooms are clean, but the hotel is very old. Please note there is no elevator, and there are many levels of steps to get to the rooms from the street.The bed and pillows were very old. The lamp switch did not work, so we unplugged it to shut it off.

We stayed one night before joining a cruise. Loved the free breakfast and we had a beautiful room up high with a balcony overlooking the city and the water. (though they don't all appear to have balconies). Helpful staff and convenient location, just a short walk down the hill to shopping, restaurants, etc.

Just be aware that there's no elevator, so you'll have to carry your suitcase up anywhere from 1-4 flights of stairs. Would love to stay again.

I actually love this little quaint bed & breakfast. My family is from the island & when I want to stay more “local” this is my go to spot.
Howeverrrrr, this last experience was a little terrifying. For context: My shoe sz is a womans 5. A humongous COCKROACH the size of my hand or foot, met me with zero fear in room 44.
I screamed, tried to crush it, and to no avail (probably due to its obnoxious size) didn’t even flinch or scurry like most insects & rodents do when a human is near.

The apps on the TV also did not work & I was advised by the young receptionist “we have to use our own accounts to sign in and enjoy entertainment” (weird)

The water in 44 never, ever got hot.

I was met with grace by Ms Joanne (manager/owner) & relocated to another room being told the roach was due to the water downpour just earlier and she also explained each room had hot water-aside from my experience.

The room I was moved to, although beautiful, smelled of terrible old cigarette smoke. Like it was imbedded into the paint and/or furniture, not something that could be quickly aired out or febreezed. This room also did not have WiFi or TV entertainment. I was told it would take potentially days to a week to fix the internet/cable issue.

The last room I was moved to #24 must be where “old money” patrons are put! It was huge, very modern and updated, every single app (Netflix, Hulu Disney+,etc.) worked without error. Wifi was 10/10 strong, and the water was piping hot!

Common areas were nice and staff was quite good but room though clean enough was surprisingly shabby particularly the bathroom which had a missing knob in the shower and the vanity was in bad shape. No smoke alarm either.
