The room assigned was in terrible condition. It was extremely outdated with broken cabinet doors and horrible stains on the tile floors. Tile in the showers broken everywhere and all faucets were corroded. There were hairs everywhere as well.
The manager did get me a better room. There is no way that first room should even be rentable especially at the price they are charging.

Property was disappointing. We were texted a message with a timeframe when to check in, as we were late, but no noe was there at that time. We were told housekeeping would come monday, wed, friday to the room. Friday was the only day we saw a housekeeper, and it was after lunch, we were scheduled to leave the next day. They had set a plastic bag with towels with our room number outside our room. Never been to a place that leaves clean towels outside. We could not exchange pool towels, because no one was there to do so. The times were 10a-5pm. We were there one day at 414pm, and no one was there. The temperature in the room could not be adjusted, and the pump ran all night. We put towels and linens over the pump to try to quiet it. We could not sleep as it was too loud. The room was outdated, and overall a disappointment

On first sight it was picturesque; however as I walked the grounds and the resort area it was in shambles. Big smelly Garbage bins in plain view and the pool bar was all but torn down. If it’s not going to be in use then cover it up and make it aesthetic looking to the eye. This resort needs a full 100% overhaul. I will say the staff was extremely nice and helpful though.

Upon arrival, all staff greater is and was very helpful. Even the gardener stopped what he was doing to ask if we needed help. A+ service from everyone.

Nice lively place, loud music at the bar and into the night and can be enjoyed while at the beach. Nearby food at restaurants on site were good.

Taxi to town is $17 each person or $8 each to red hook. Not bad if u plan when and were to go.

We overall loved the area, our room was over priced after looking at comps and after talking with other renters who stated when they arrived their room had welcome gifts, fancy shampoos flowers, we wouldn't have know this unless speaking with others, also the bathroom in our room was outdated exhaust fan broken, no smoke detectors missing off of brackets within room, the closet safe was broken and not functioning, the view off balcony was beautiful and the beach was also stunning and that made all the difference, overall 1 out of 10 I give it a 7. But hey Do your due diligence shop around I didn't and might have shorted my self, but overall great experience.

Property is very old, no updates and extremely run down with an old hotel mold smell.

Parking lot was so filled with potholes that even the taxi refused to come in one time and made us walk.

Reception area is an unused room and the receptionist was not helpful in providing local directions or help. Hours are also very limited.

I’ve stayed here 2 other times before, we were in Marina side this time our suite was extremely outdated the shower leaked the entire trip despite someone coming to fix it, tv didn’t work in the evening. Appliances were sub par and 3 power outages without any back up generator or lights at all. Overall for the price we paid it was not worth it.

My wife and I stayed beachside at Sapphire beach for a weekend. The suites are nice with amenities for cooking if you want. The beach is A , good for wading, swimming and definitely snorkeling. The onsite amenities include a pizza shop, a cabana bar and an upscale restaurant. I will definitely plan to return, had an awesome time. Side note- the office was difficult to find but just ask any of the employees, they were all very nice and helpful

Upon check-in we were given room in building A which was a huge disappointment. The room and the furniture looked as though it hadn't been updated for decades. I would describe it as musty, as though nobody had occupied that room for weeks, maybe months. Also, after many attempts to use the TV, it did not work. We asked management to move us to a different room. Finally at the end of the day (after about 2 or 3 visits to the office) we were moved to a room in building B, which was a huge improvement. The room was updated, and we particularly enjoyed being right on the beach. However, one complaint about this room is that the bed was absolutely awful! I don't think the mattress has been changed for years! The beach is very nice, but since it is also a public beach it gets very crowded when the cruise ships are in port. The pool is in a beautiful location but when we were there the bar/restaurant, (not sure what it was) was under construction, so that took away from the beauty of it. The upscale restaurant was very nice, but pricey. The bar served casual food and pizza which was pretty good. The area is not walkable, so we had to pay $24 roundtrip (for 2 people) for a taxi to the grocery store which was only about 1.5 miles away.

My family and I stayed in the sapphire beach resort village. It was beautiful with a kitchenette area pretty well stocked with kitchen items, living room/dinning room, bathroom and we got the king bed. It had a balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean and boat dock. The view was breath taking. We were close to the pool, restaurant and a short walk down a path to sapphire beach. It was a great stay and would recommend to other people. My only critique would be they should tell you were to throw the bags of trash away if they are going to do it for you. Excellent stay. Would book again for future trips.

The Resort itself was pretty nice, beach was wonderful the bar and restaurants on site were wonderful, the beach is beautiful.

The negatives were the unit itself was way below satisfactory levels. Unit was musty, rusty and very much outdated.

The view was that of resort was that of beach lounger storage.

Overall, we felt ripped off and hope this review will prevent someone else from feeling the same way. Stay away from unit A one hundred and one at Sapphire Beach Resort.

WOW what a Disappointment! Don’t think I’ve ever given a 1 star review before. Can’t believe the amount we paid per night for this place! VERY DATED!! But clean. No beach towels only chairs. No plastic cups for beach. Also not much in the way of kitchen gear either. Virtually no storage or mixing bowls. Some lights don’t work. No glass on the coffee table. Problems with the AC. Old TV (not a smart TV) No w/d. Stove difficult to operate as the drip pans didn’t fit the stove, didn’t heat evenly and not balanced.
Bed is comfy but the mattress topper didn’t fit the bed. Furniture old and very broken down. Good location. Management pleasant.

Stayed her during a girls trip and had a great time. The resort is located on a beautiful beach and the restaurant and beach bar are very good. We stayed in one of the Villa's and the space was run down, broken panel on closet and the sofa beds need new mattresses. If you are staying and sleeping in an actual bed, perfect.

Only Major complaint was beds in “villa” 302A. Advertised for six people the couch mattress nearly ruined me and my sleep. My second night was better because Front Desk sent up more pillows second night you can speak with service 24/7 but office not open to give me extra pillows for first night. VIEWS were lovely. ROOM clean. Small bar restaurant great. Breakfast store (also lunch) is reasonable. Good coffee. This location is well managed and responsive to guests - but response delayed when office is closed.

Sapphire Beach has hands down the best beach area in St. Thomas. There is amazing white sand, snorkeling among beautiful fish and coral, and the beach is cleared daily of the abundant seaweed. The property has so much potential, but is severely lacking in maintenance. The condos are out-dated, in need of deep cleaning, and repairs. Our upstairs a/c did not work, there was no hot water in the shower, a ton of bugs throughout, patio table was warped and cracked, couches were stained, oven did not work. Lots of cracks and holes in the walls. If you’re here for the beach, this is an amazing place to be. We explored Magen’s Bay, Coki Beach, Margaritaville, and Frenchmen’s Cove, and Sapphire beach was everyone’s favorite. The pool has a vacant, dilapidated bar, and is very unappealing. The on-site eateries are nice, but expensive. If you want to cook in your condo, you’ll have to either take a taxi to Redhook ($5 per person each way) or have groceries delivered- which is *extremely* expensive. If I did this trip over again, I would pack a suitcase of food items for the week for days we didn’t feel like spending $100 on lunch. Overall it was a fun vacation, but make sure to bring plenty of cash. It’s a very expensive destination.

The property has a nice beach. However, the check in desk doesn’t open some times until 10 am or later and they close at 5 which makes it inconvenience for check in and out. The bedsheet and blanket are in poor conditions and do not appear very clean. There is only one key given to the guests which makes it inconvenient. The fine dining restaurant is pricey.

The property is tired and in need of a refresh. The view and location is beautiful and is not
Taken full advantage of. The rooms have uncomfortable bedding, pilled sheets, dated wicker furniture and tired bathrooms. The restaurant and bar closes early, which is disappointing when you want to enjoy sunset outside. The views from the point are breathtaking, but the pool doesn’t have towels to offer, a bar to enjoy a drink or snack with the view, and feels under construction. Very disappointing for the price paid.

Also had housekeeper coming to our door asking us if we were checking out, before checkout time! We were fully aware of checkout time and left on time. Was annoying to feel unnecessarily rushing us. The grounds were beautiful and the beaches so nice. I was expecting the poolside bar to be open. It is still relatively damaged from the hurricanes of 2017, sadly. The condo was fair. Lots of light bulbs out, fridge makes a constant banging noise. But it was very clean and the bed was comfortable as well. Overall, the experience was good.

This property is so run down it’s depressing. Cabana near the pool is so rotted and rusted it looks like a bomb shelter. This is not hurricane related, but years of neglect. The property has spent no money of maintenance in years. I can tell I’m a contractor.

I enjoyed revisiting fond memories of the old Sapphire in the 90s when every weekend was the Sunday beach party. With music, dancing, and plenty of people. Now however, it’s a ghost town after 7/8pm. Total disappointment since I told my son all about the Sunday parties. I lived in St Thomas for 6yrs and understand the financial devastation after experiencing Hugo. It seems to me Sapphire Resort has lost the motivation and pride in maintaining what still exist regardless of the financial ability to fully renovate. For example the pool area obviously took a big hit, probably many times but there is no reason why the pool area cannot be kept clean and orderly. Such as sweeping tree debris daily. The pool area was a mess. The rooms had a strong smell of mildew and previous moisture that has lingered, so much so I sprayed my cologne around the room daily. Recognizing we were beach front however, there was more than enough sand on the floor which made it apparent the floor cleaning detail was less than adequate for new arrivals. The TV electronics for both sets were an electrical nightmare of intertwined cables cords and hanging electric strips. The room was a decent size and the beach view was very nice! Again the view could have been improved with a little inexpensive TLC. What little we saw of the staff left me with a good impression, pleasant and happy we were there! As I said from the beginning I believe Sapphire has allowed the resort slip through the cracks. TAS

On the plus side, the beachfront location was excellent and had lots of water activities, the pool was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, we had daily housekeeping service and the room was kept very clean. On the minus side, the coffee shop closed at 2:00 PM, and the beach bar/snack bar closed at 6:00 PM. Not having any food or drinks available on the property in the evening was disappointing.

Great place for the price. I was very confused on arrival on where to find the front desk. There are no signs?!?! I had reached out to the property a few days before arrival like I was told and never got a response. I called the number listed and no one would answer. Finally we were told by the bartender that the office is in one of the rooms in the A building. The girl at the desk was very kind and let us leave our bags in the office until our room was ready. The beach is beautiful and the snorkeling is fantastic. Snorkel gear is not included like I saw listed as one of the items included, but it was $10 for the day which was reasonable.
We stayed in the building with the marina in front and had amazing sunrise views. Our room had working A/C on the second floor, but my parents room on the bottom floor was not working.

Loved the beach front. View was spectacular. On-site free parking. Convenient to para-sailing and other boating activities. Free use of snorkeling equipment. Clean beach with great reefs. Our unit had an off smell, burned out light bulbs, nice clothes drying rack, spacious upstairs bedroom. Nice kitchen. Pull out beds were uncomfortable, as the mattress’ were thin. Sapphire Beach Resort is located on amazing beaches, and while the buildings are older, the vibe is excellent and the property is well maintained. There was abundant seaweed throughout St Thomas beaches during our stay, but the resort staff kept our beaches clean and open. I’d return for another stay.

This hotel is so rundown and outdated. There isn’t even a front lobby. No real entrance security. The room was nasty. No shampoo or conditioner, was given body gel for everything. No working blow dryer. Beach was dirty. The pool was not clean. Extremely disappointed with pictures compared to the reality of this resort. Someone needs to update the website and pictures of this property. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic location and a great hotel. We enjoyed virtually every moment of our stay. As with any hotel, there could be some improvements made to the room. The upstairs shower didn't work (not a problem as there was a second shower downstairs) and the upstairs TV didn't receive half of the channels as the downstairs TV. However, these were very minor inconveniences overall and we WILL stay at this resort again in the future! (Hopefully this pandemic will be put to rest by then!)

This resort wasn't bad. The location was convenient and the rooms were beach front. There were some seaweed in certain areas but the beach wasn't too bad. The rooms were outdated but has all of the minimum things you would need. Overall, it was an okay stay for the price.

Had a fantastic time!!!

Perfect location, very clean and had friendly and helpful employees. Beautiful beach!! Room even had smoothie maker! Free beach towels and snorkels. Very quiet at night which we really appreciated. Air conditioned too! Would stay here again and again!!

Quaint and Quiet place to stay!

The condo was outdated but very cute and quaint. It was right on the beach so the view was amazing. We would definitely stay here again. The condo was equipped with everything you need. There is also a coffee shop on premises. The pool is huge with a stunning view. The atmosphere was very laid back, not a party area which is what we wanted. Staff were great and if you needed a taxi, you call a number and the staff on sight call one for you.

This \"resort\" is the roach motel on St.Thomas. Its a shame that it sits on a potentially beautiful stretch of water. And by potentially, I mean because they don't take care of the seaweed on the beach. Our room had STAINS on the floors, dirt and dust everywhere, and odor eliminator containers to hide the smell. The door had ~0.5\" gap so you could see right into the room. This, on top of the 1970s decor. I didn't want to sit down or place my belongings anywhere in the room, let alone have my kids sleep there. Absolutely disgusting.
We checked into an old room on the 2nd floor. Theres no lobby or greeting area. They gave us 3 bath towels to use for the 4 of us at the beach. This place has no pride.
When I told them about the stains and disappointment, they looked at me like I had 3 heads. There was no attempt to reconcile or upgrade (as I'm sure there is no room for improvement here). We left the property as soon as we were able to secure another resort. HORRIBLE.

The property is about a 30 minute drive from the airport- only 10 miles, but a hilly twisty turny drive. Great views along the way. The area of the island is way less busy than the airport area which by comparison seemed quite busy when we returned at the end of our stay.
Theres a bar restaurant with a limited menu on site, so drinks are accessible, but it closes early- 11-6 or 11-4 on the weekend. (Stock up on alcohol for after hours at one of the many places on the way.)
A five minute drive from the property is Red Hook, which is a commercial area with restaurants and shops that stay open later for real dining out.

The property is completely beachfront, which is awesome. Step onto your patio for a fantastic view any time of day. Some of the beach is a little rocky/coraly but just go left or right a bit to get swimmable water.

We came here in late February, late covid (hopefuly), so maybe that affected some of the availability of amenities, but we were able to get snorkel equipment lended to us for our stay. We definitely used it- though at other areas on the island with more fish.

The pool is nice- my wife was scared that it would be filled with duck poop since for some reason they have pictures of ducks in it, but we didnt see any of that.

Be warned- the are wild iguanas and chickens everywhere on the island- including this property! We didnt mind.

So not an all-inclusive resort, but completely relaxing none the less. awesome

We stayed at Sapphire Beach Resort for 2 nights. It was a last minute reservation as we were supposed to end our trip on Scrub Island. Once the BVI’s stopped allowing marine entry we had to find a new hotel in the USVI. If I had known what I was getting in to, it would have been ok. However, be prepared that nothing is provided in the room and the only dinner/lunch/bar closes at 5 for food and 8 for drinks and there is nothing within walking distance to get supplies. However, the beach location is gorgeous, the breakfast spot on site was fabulous and the staff were helpful. Each condo is individually owned so it also depends on the one you get. The one my parents had was remodeled, clean and opened straight to the beach. The one my family stayed in was very clearly still damaged from the hurricane and was somewhat dirty (especially when opening the sofa bed). Make sure to have a taxi stop at a grocery store if you don’t have your own car so you can load up on water,snacks etc.
the property itself was nice enough, but the pool could be so much better! The pool is obviously set up to have an adult bar scene with built in bar stools and tables, but the pool bar is still destroyed from the hurricanes. Not sure what is taking so long as it seems like that could be a good money maker and would remove the biggest eye sore on the property.
So not a horrible place, just know what you are getting in to.

great family getaway

like most of the island there is still some areas, such as the pool bar, that have not reopened since the hurricane. but overall its a great area for families. beach waves maybe too much for toddlers but my 4 and 7 year olds loved them. also good snorkeling right off the beach. short drive to red hook, a great small port town. walking on the main road is possible though not with kids. a car or taxi will get to most major st thomas beaches in 10-20 min. red hook also has car and passenger ferries to st johns and other islands.
