The pools were clean, the coffee shop was great, the restaurant was convenient but not bad food, the room itself was spacious, it was definitely dated but I wouldn’t call it dirty. For the price you couldn’t beat it! The walk to the beach was strenuous so if you have small children/ are a bit older I wouldn’t recommend it but it was about 15 mins as advertised. They were clearly renovating so I’m sure shortly it will be fantastic. Only negative was that the layout was difficult to navigate without any help, but everyone was super friendly.

A few minor inconveniences like the remotes to the tvs not working, no WiFi upon arrival both of which were minor because I didn’t plan to be in the room for the majority of the day but you may want to come home unwind and watch a little tv. Besides that everything else was great, the have a really nice coffee shop on site and sometimes have a live band playing by the pool.

The view from the balcony of Magens Bay was simply amazing. The room is a great size with the 2nd bedroom being up in the loft. The kitchen was good enough for the time that we were there. The property has a coffee shop on site that was great for breakfast. There is a dinner restaurant on site too but we didn't eat there. It is a beautiful property. Would definitely stay there again. The cat sanctuary onsite was a bonus as we love cats.

I would strongly caution others before booking this property through Expedia.
Before my scheduled stay, multiple Expedia representatives and I repeatedly attempted to contact the hotel, but were unsuccessful. AT LEAST four different Expedia agents tried to reach the property on my behalf for SIX days (!!!) and were unable to get any response.
This raises serious concerns. If a property cannot be reached before your stay, there is no way to confirm your reservation, ask questions, or resolve issues. It also raises concerns about what would happen if something went wrong during the stay and support was needed.
I was ultimately unable to proceed with my trip due to a medical emergency, but the larger issue is that neither I nor Expedia could establish contact with the hotel at all. That alone made the booking feel unreliable and unsupported.
Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable booking this property again.

Stayed with friends in a two bedroom suite. Customer service was excellent, very quick and efficient. Bartender was pleasant as well, very beautiful scenery as well. I will definitely stay again.

Property is apparently in receivership. Staff is keeping it going, but barely. Owner is nowhere to be found. If you check in after noon, nobody’s in the office.

Check in was terrible. We arrived a couple hours early. As most travelers do. We were told to leave our stuff in the lobby. I had medicine that needed to be refrigerated. The resort was empty. No reason why they couldn’t give us an early check. We even offered to pay. Bar service was not good. Walked around us for 15 mins before acknowledging us. Food was absolutely not worth the price tag. Frozen Ellios pizza for insane money. Wild. Cold wings. Best thing we had was the jerk chicken. Restaurant/bar had no AC. Our drinks melted before we could even drink them. No one came to change over the room. We were there for 3 days. We had to call for fresh towels. Hot tub is broken. The only good thing about this place is the 15 minute walk to Magens Bay. Side not. It’s cats palace. So if you’re allergic it’s not for you.

Upon late arrival, I was able to retrieve keys to my room in the designated box outside of the main office labeled check in/check out. This is very helpful for those who arrive after the check in time or need to leave before the check out time. The studio room I booked was very clean and had more up to date appliances than some other hotels I’ve stayed in on the island. Everything was perfect! My only complaint is the walls are thin and you can hear any noise coming from the room next to you. Thankfully, the next room wasn’t loud so I had no issues. Will be staying here again the next time I visit!

I ended up in the same room I was in for Christmas. It was very clean and well stocked with towels and shampoos. Nice big screen tv and cold fridge and freezer. The grounds are older, but well kept up. It's a struggle keeping afloat on the islands and this resort is no different. The staff was excellent and very helpful. I know they would appreciate your support! I've lived on St. John for over 30 years so I know how hard it is to turn a profit here!

When it comes to great hospitality this place stands out. Budget friendly option, where you get more than you pay for. Staff was very helpful at checkin. We arrived early so the host directed us to the resteraunt located at the hotel. We stopped in for lunch, where the service was great and the food was even better. We then took a minute to soak up the view of the Island, while taking a few pictures. By that time it was time to check-in which was fast and friendly. When we got to our room, we were blown away by the view and the spacious area. Overall, great experience, great food and even better hospitality.

Everything was nice. The room was beautiful, and the property was very well kept. Short walk to Megan's Bay Beach. The little cafe onsite was very expensive, but so was everything else in St. Thomas. Ms. Barbara was extremely nice and made sure that we were well taken care of during our stay.

I paid for the insurance I boarded the plane had a seizure the United Airlines was very helpful and was safe the property ignored me and wasn't able to communicate with no one and Expedia was unable to get help for me. We arrived at the hotel around 3:30 check in was supposed to be at 4 the office was closed, found our room keys in a mailbox which they never emailed about where to find my keys. Get to the room and the door is wide open hasn't been cleaned. The maid shows up and says she will have the room ready shortly. 2 hours later we were finally able to get in our room. I was very upset, we had been traveling since 2am ,we were tired and just wanted to relax and instead we were kept waiting 2 hours past check in time. UNEXCEPTABLE

Save your time and money and go somewhere else. As a matter of fact, just do yourself a favor and scratch the entire island off your bucket list. It is so far overpriced compared to every other amazing tropical island and the service and attitude of all the locals is just HORRIBLE! This property in particular was not at all what I expected based on the photos and reviews on Expedia. There was no check in instructions other than that the office was only open like 4 hours on the day we were to arrive and that the last available time you could check in was 8 pm. We had all kinds of delay and problems getting a car, so I was very nervous about getting to the property on time and no one would answer the phone. Once we got there, we were able to figure out how to find our room, but our key didn't work. I did call the emergency number and someone came to let us in. The resort is very outdated, which is fine. The inside of the room was not clean and there were multiple broken items. Like the entire window casing in the shower was falling off. The linens and towels seemed clean, but the furniture was so filthy that I kind of wanted to die. Housekeeping did not restock any troilites, but the lady checking us in was able to get us some. Thankfully they have an onsite restaurant, which was decent, but we were starved and exhausted so anything would have worked at that point. We just stayed there one night. It is very close to Magen's Bay, but only if you have a car!

Overall the hotel was great. By comparison, great value for the money, but the location was a bit removed from city center or even the Meagan’s bay. Though both are relatively close, there is no safe way to walk to and from, given the lack of sidewalks or lights, especially at night, requiring a taxi or rental car. That being said, the food was good and during our one night stay, the hotel had life music which was really nice. Yes, I recommend it and yes, I would stay there again!

Rooms were clean and nice but the 3 steps down into the living room and back up 3 to the bedroom/kitchen area took a little getting used to.

I don’t like leaving f mediocre reviews but….Office closes for check in at 1pm and rhere is no communication. Keys will be in a random mailbox by reception door. Good luck finding your room especially the dark. Our room fridge stilll had last guests food in it. On a positive restaurant prices are fair and food is solid. It’s a bargain stay for sure. No hot water

I left with bedbug bites all over me. The lobby closes at 4pm and I tried to go in there at 2pm to get pool towels and the door was locked. I was told by a landscaping guy that the office personnel were in a meeting. The towels were dingy white with multiple stains on them. I had to constantly call for more towels to try to get some that were not stained.

The room was clean and fully stocked with utensils, cookware and dishes which for a one room suite is more than we were expecting. Ms Barbara, the housekeeper we met, was so friendly and helpful! Loved having all the kitties around too so we didn’t miss ours. We didn’t use either of the pools and one of the two hot tubs was not operating. Having a coffee shop (Northside Grind) and restaurant (Irie Vybz) right on site was great as the food and drinks at both were of very high quality and value. Definitely will book again for our next visit.

Also A/C didn’t work, pool is filled with some green organic material and jacuzzi looks like it hasn’t worked in quite some time. Hey, the view and the beach is beautiful so all is not lost, but someone else needs to take over management of this property. Great location.

Nobody there to check you in and had to ask around to find where the key was left. Both pools were green and dirty and not safe for swimming in. The coffee pot took over an hour to brew a pot of coffee so basically unusable.

BEWARE! first off no one is in the office past 1 PM… Secondly the room was not cleaned there was hair in the sinks, absolutely no soap anywhere,no paper towels, there was a bug in the bed, there were stains on the main bedsheets and stains on the other bed blanket, the door has a huge gap which bugs can crawl under and it was so bright with light I had to shove a towel there, there is no coffee, most all the blinds for the windows are broken throughout the interior with hunks just broken off, the table on the balcony is so rusted out it's dangerous to get close to, you cannot have the door open with the screen closed because the screen has huge gaping cuts and holes in it, the Internet for the TV does not work, pictures are shown as if there is a beach and there is absolutely not a beach and it's quite far down the road and BTW if you are on the balcony or sleeping in the second bedroom the noise from that road is just unbelievable, and the number they give you to call for after hours issues or problems nobody answers and if you leave a message nobody calls. And the pool was dirty with murky water

A 2 bedroom premium suite is not 2 bedrooms. It is basically 2 lofts and completely open with a spiraling staircase. Water would stop working here and there. Only stayed 1 night of our 6 days. Left and stayed somewhere better. Food at restaurant is superb tho!!!

Our room was never cleaned the entire week. We had no water in our room most of the week. We couldn’t shower or flush the toilet. They offered all of us in one building to use a shower in an open room, without cleaning between guests. Both pools were green and the hot tub was black. Definitely filing for a complete refund as we were unable to contact Expedia for assistance.

The room was very nice and clean. I stayed one night. I had a ground floor room which had a sunken living room. There were 2 high steps up to the bed, bathroom and kitchen. The deck was nice with furniture. The kitchen had a 2 burner stove and small frig. Note that the reception desk has very limited hours and they do not answer the phone. Keys are left or you.

The property definitely needs updating and you can tell the hotel is struggling. Rooms, entranceways and chairs are definitely worn and dated. Also, it’s hard to find someone at the front desk even when you call the number posted. Can be very noisy if private parties are being held on the property. It’s a budget hotel. Restaurant stay is nice though and I love all the cats.

Flamboyan is awesome. Amazing view of Magens Bay. Barbara who runs it is legit and the coffee shop onsite had amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Highly recommended!

The poolside bar and grill as well as the coffee shop were key to the great stay. The food and service was superb. The pool was beautiful but wasnt always working . The view was amazing. The main office was often closed. There was no store or gift shop as advertised. The room was very basic, but clean. There are a lot of stairs everywhere on the resort. Hard on my old lady knees. People were nice and the pool side bar and grill was the best part .

This was once a beautiful resort but it is showing is age. We had a gorgeous bay view room! One hot tub was drained and one was not hot at all, just a bit warmer than the pool. Second pool was green. Restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced. Joel the bartender is awesome! There is also a cafe with good food too. This is also a cat sanctuary with 30 cats who roam the large property. They are well cared for, friendly and have been spayed and don't go in the rooms. Bring your own hair dryer. Taxi is at least $15pp to go to the town or beach. It is very beautiful, quiet and scenic if you want to be with all the husstle and bustle this is not the place. We would like to return next year but not sure if we will if no updates or repairs are done.

Staff support was lacking. If you don't get to the front desk before 1 pm when it closes you will not be able to get issues addressed. Everything seemed just slightly broken and just wasn't up to par. Electronic room keys didn’t work, and when we did notify the front desk no one came to fix the issue during our stay. So we were limited to 1 hard key to unlock the door.

Ok first of all, there was no staff available to check in. There was no staff available on the phone either. The pool on the grounds was dirty and you couldnt see the bottom of it. The water in the hot tub was black. Plaster was falling from the ceiling in the bathroom shower and was on the floor of the shower. This property should not be listed as any place to go. We stayed one night and that was it. Had to find another place to stay for the week at great cost. I would like a refund. Do not send anyone there

Problems started happening on the 2nd night . First problem water was off for about three hours. Second problem the Airconditioner stopped working. But thank God for Ms Barbra who was able to work every thing out for us on this trip. She went out her way to make up for all that had taken place earlier. Cheers for employees like her. Expedia listing needs to be updated to reflect correct staff check in/out availability hours and also to reflect check in/out after hours procedure. This way customers know what to expect ahead of time. Was challenging to get anyone live on the phone. Kitchenette was well stocked (upside surprise) except for a kitchen sink plug. The only thing we enjoyed at the Flamboyan was the food we ordered and service in the bar. The place needs to be closed until it is brought back up to par! Apparently it’s under new management and undergoing some changes, but the place is dilapidated, DIRTY, old & in desperate need of updates and provisions, and just flat out was not what was advertised! The pool water was as murky as they come (didn’t even put a toe in there)! As an avid and often time traveler, I was very disappointed that I spent my 22nd wedding anniversary at this dump! Our trip to St. Thomas thankfully was scheduled for 6 nights, so we expeditiously (unfortunately had to stay 2 nights) got on up out of there. WE WILL NEVER EVER EVER RETURN!!!!

When we did have a person to talk to they were very accommodating and polite. Mrs.Barbara was extremely nice and attentive. Unfortunately, there was NO POOL or Hot Tub/Jacuzzi as stated in the over of the location. There were roaches in our room as well. No wifi on our first night. The view was spectacular. Overall disappointed with our stay. It can be a beautiful place to visit but the property needs a lot of help.

1. You couldn’t swim in pool it was green with algae. 2. Couch had cigarette burns, drapes had holes in them. 3. From time we checked in until check out no hotel employee was there. 4. Needs up keep badly. 5. No room cleaning or enough towels. Woman at check-in said there is no room service we are short staffed not much business. So we had to make do and reuse same towel every day for four nights and only one hand towel. Overall would never stay there again.

No staff when I got there, and just an envelope in a box. Glad mine was in there. My patio had huge spiderwebs with visible spiders on it. Pools were clear of debri, but greenish in color and not clear. Otherwise, rooms were nice and no issues other than those points.

The Resort was beautiful, the room was clean, and most of the staff were friendly. However, the service was sparse and less than satisfactory. It was explained that this was the off season, so that was to be expected. We could not find anyone at the front desk for fresh towels. While daily room cleaning was not expected, fresh towels midway through an extended stay should have been provided. I would also suggest that each room come with a broom so customers can do their own housekeeping. These were small issues, and we had a great time overall.

Barbara was amazing, she’s the best. Rooms were decent, not bad. I am not too picky but picky people would not like to stay here. View was amazing. The coffee shop on site served healthy food, shakes, and delicious coffee. Beach is 30 minutes away if your walking - wear bright clothes because you will be walking on the main road. No side walks to the beach.
