This place is great for a family. The seaweed was nowhere near as bad as everyone in other reviews made it seem. There are a ton of stairs, but it was nice to burn some calories on our way to consume more food. The pools are great. The food is decent. The little coffee shop/cafe was clutch and made delicious smoothies. Koki beach & Sun and Sea bar are in walking distance. Short drive to Red Hook. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

This was a great spot to use as our touch down space for exploring St. Thomas. We knew ahead of time there was not a usable beach at the property, so rented a car and explored a different beach each day. Its location on the east end is great and accessible to many spots from Magens Bay to Red Hook. We walked to Coki beach twice which is just down the street.
We had a 1 bedroom condo which gave some separation for our family. It had a kitchenette which was great for having some breakfast each morning.
The staff were extremely welcoming and pleasant. It is on a hillside, so they do provide golf carts from the main lobby and parking lots up to your room. The pools were clean and enjoyable.
We only ate at the restaurant once and the food/service was just OK. We did enjoy drinks most nights along with the nightly entertainment. We also watched the sunrise from the small beach one morning.
Overall very pleased with our stay, but we also knew that it was not a resort we were going to utilize the amenities at every day.

View was fabulous, our balcony did have a palm tree in the view but you could still see the beach on either side.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hilltop bar is very laid-back and relaxing. The other pool has things going on all day to keep you entertained. There isn't that much of an option for eating on property. The restaurant food isn't good. And the coffee shop a bit overpriced. The location is great for getting to Redhook and catching the ferry to St John.

This place is definitely not a 4 star resort. The good things about the resort are they had beautiful grounds, the pools and beach area were nice, live entertainment at night, comfortable beds, local vendors selling stuff by the restaurant and balconies. We stayed a total of 6 days, not once was our room cleaned. I called down to the front desk and was informed that they don't clean the rooms but could bring us towel. The sand in the Virgin Islands is beautiful but it will end up everywhere, all over your clothes, belongings and eventually even trying to be careful in your bed. It was hard to sleep because I could feel the sand on the sheets. The walls were super thin, we could hear everything our neighbors were doing. My sister and her husband had to be moved because their room smelled like mold. The second room also smelled like mold and they wouldn't move them again because they said they had no other rooms. They claimed it was the cleaning products that smelled like that which definitely wasn't true. We took pictures of mold growing in the bathroom. The fan in the bathrooms didn't work. They will give you a ride in golf carts instead of walking up the hills, except they drive very fast. A golf cart full of people flipped over during our stay. When you first check in they try to convince you to sit through a 90 minute presentation. The Virgin Islands were beautiful and we definitely will go back, but won't be staying here ever again.

The resort grounds and views are beautiful but our room smelled like mold/mildew. We switched to another room and it smelled the same. Saw several roaches running around our room. Restaurant staff were really slow even when there was barely anyone in the restaurant. I wouldn’t stay there again.

The staff were friendly. The bartenders at both pools were great. I used the gym and it was clean and all that I needed. The pools and ocean view were amazing. We also walked around the shore and enjoyed the Sun and Sea restaurant at a neighboring resort.

This hotel is not for business travelers. You have to ride a shuttle through the resort the shuttle has improved however, it doesn't operate efficently enough if you are on business. I waited over 30 minutes for a shuttle walked down with my luggage and other bag. The receptionist stated i haven't seen shuttle yet. Well ma'am why did you say he is on the way be there in a few minutes

The rooms were nice and clean as well as the grounds. Guest check in/concierge friendly. There is always only 1 bartender so the wait for a drink is decently long. The beach is nice to sit there when the sun goes down but you have to shuttle elsewhere and then rent chairs to go to an actual beach. You cant eat at the only restaurant they have for all meals so you have to drive or taxi. There is one walkable rearsurant. No matter what time you get to either pool there are no chairs left so you have to linger around and wait for someone to leave.

Staff was very knowledgeable and kind.
Our upstairs bedrooms in building 11 would not cool off below 75 degrees, even reaching 80+ during the day. They sent some techs in n to work on it, was cooler for a few hours and was then hot again.
Bed sheets were cheap and pillows could have been better.
Shower water was lukewarm and struggled to get very warm. We will try somewhere else next time.

Room was clean but we werent given a room till 7pm when we were supposed to be in at 3pm. They do not clean the rooms during your stay nor do they change your bed linens. They do provide extra towels upon request. They do not have enough chairs by pool area for everyone. They allow visitors to save pool chairs as they walk away for hours. There should be no saving of chairs. Great setup although beach not swimmable you can walk and view. There are beaches within walking distance. Great activities. Managers were great. Grounds beautiful. Food great and reasonable in the restaurant where we ate everyday. Dont like the pressure sales and rude sales financial guy. All staff were friendly and helpful despite being through damaging hurricanes. Margarittas endless. They need to enforce no smoking rules..Couldnt use porch due to smoking and had to leave pool.area and concert due to property allowing smoking in no smoking areas. They advertise as no smoking facility, not true, its not enforced. Security is excellent. Overall good stay good people.

Rooms and facilities were clean. Food and bars were good. Pools were nice. Beach area was lacking but there are other beaches nearby to visit. Shuttles/golf cart were hard to come by for rides up the hill to our rooms if you didn’t go to the main check in area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!!!

I did not realize that I would be climbing several treacherous staircases to get to my room and I am an older person with bad knees. There was only one restaurant on the premises which left little little where to go. The weather was very rainy and all the afternoon and evening activities were canceled which left nothing to do. Unless you took a taxi somewhere and spent a lot more money. They don't have a lot to offer at this venue. St. Thomas is beautiful and I also felt very pressured to go to this timeshare presentation that I was not interested in. Overall I will not go back there. I will go to St. Thomas and stay somewhere else.

The villa was good, but the master bath fan ran continuously, and the air handler quit the last night. We reported the fan issue, but no repair was done. Staff were great. Shuttle up the hill was good to have.

I would have expected them to be full. We had three guests in our room and we had to request bedding for the pull out. It should have been in the room.

TERRIBLE! They were renovating the room above me so it was banging, dragging furniture and loud beating all morning and night! They didnt stop at 5pm either! It was well after midnight and they were still at it. Called the front desk and spoke with supervisor who said he would have security check it out but it was still happening. And when it finally stopped, the reconvened at 7am! Ridicuolous! I could not enjoy peace and quiet my whole stay there

*There is no place to eat, but the Mararitaville restaraunt or the closet cafe. The food is expensive and the service is ridiculously bad. They add an automatic 18% tip. This explains the poor service. Going outside the resort is an option if you want to pay racket taxi prices. 3 people to go to outside the resort add $90 to go 3 miles round trip. Crazy. The small closet store/cafe is limited and the staff is amazingly rude. I had one lady the acutally refused to serve me until I said \"good evening\" to her. I swear. One cannot make this stuff up. It was so bad. The concierge hung up on me when I called to get the broken door on the laundry center opened for us. Except for a few people, the entire staff is so unfriendly and rude. No spa or jacuzzi? I expected more for my $700/night stay. Jim my Buffet is flipping in his grave. This place is terrible.

Every time we called for a shuttle we would wait for 15/20 min. Not make believe when ever we left our suite it was truly 200 step round trip. Short of checking in. And when we checked in the driver of the golf cart was going so fast and turning pretty crazy one of our suit cases slid off the golf cart and went skidding down the road. Can't make this up

Everything was great - the room, the restaurant, the bar & the staff - BUT the beach was inaccessible and that was a problem. They shuttled us to a beach close by but it was extremely crowded. We had to rent a car and go 'beach hopping' each day. It would have been much better if the beach had been clean.

The hotel was very pretty you need them to drive you to your room if it’s far up. They don’t clean the room every day but will provide clean towels. The beach really isn’t a beach to lay out at but they provided a van to the other beaches that were gorgeous. I definitely would stay here again. Buy stuff store because the stores here are beyond expensive.

Great stay. Hotel room nice but needed some attention in regards to non working plugs and light in the bathroom. Pool bathroom was terrible needing a lot of work stall system flimsy and doors not able to latch shut. Food was ok only a few items on the menu we loved and the service was very slow and not great other than one waiter. Important to note that 18% gratuity is automatically added on the bill. We did not know this the first two days. Location is convenient and overall we enjoyed our stay and will stay there again.

First of all reading the reviews, we were a scared. But the shore on the property was clean and no Smell. We loved the room, very roomy and clean. The go Carts were fast at getting us around the big resort. The pools and property were great. Lobby staff was always helpful. The service at restaurant and bar was not the best. So we only went a few times. We could have spent more money and time there if the service was better. Overall loved our time at Margaritaville, would go again!

Arrived Jan 4, returned on the 9th. Originally booked Margaritaville because it would have JB and Island style music through the resort , however, there was no music at any of the bars (hilltop or main), or restaurant area until we were leaving late morning on the 9th. When asking staff on day one why there was no music, we were told ot was because the system needed to be fixed and wirinf was eroded \"dur to thr chemicals coming from th red tide seaweed\". This would coincide with the special seaweed that was flooding the coast of the resort as well and disnt exaxtly make the water there bearable to swim which was also unfortunate as the resort photographs advertise as though this beachfront is somewhat private and able to be swam in. There were only two live mysic acts and a karaoke act on thr Six StringStage during our stay.

--NOTE: Going to the restaraunt Sun and Sea, a walk from the resort, provided better food and plenty of music on thier speaker systema. Coki Beach, just past the resort, and Coral World, all had mysic and PA sound during this same time of year and all share the same waters.

What saved this trip here is, the rooms are phenomenal. The staff were super friendly. The guests are mature and always having conversation. Location was key due to the ability to walk to another restaurant, Coki Beach, and Coral world. Breakfast is well done.

No music while eating, drinking, swimming, conversing is unacceptable on resort.

The staff was fantastic and the room was very good but it amazed me the in the common areas the lack of maintenance and I noted that the bars and restaurants had 10-12 TVs but only 1 was in working order. I enjoyed sitting at the beach bar enjoying a Bloody Mary while watching a football game on one of six that worked, crazy!!!!
