We found the staff very helpful and friendly throughout the resort. The room had great ammenities and for a studio, was laid out wonderfully. The kitchen was complete, clean, and refreshed. However, the bathroom fan did notturn on (and the electeic circuit panel was painted closed) the shower did not drain, and the shower tile needs some real work. I expected more from a Weston in this regard. We were only therw for three days, and so did not report these issues as we did not want maintenence in our room disrupting us. The beach was nice enough, but did not measure up to other beaches on the island. It did have plenty of seating under umbrellas and a good view, however. The pool was great!

Pool was great! St Cruz water sports conveniently located at beach dock. Resort was dead at night. Staff not particularly friendly. Our room needed some attention - ants all over the kitchen counters upon check-in, broken lights/outlets, and black mold built up in both showers. Would stay somewhere else next time.

We had a spacious room everything was clean and nice but the property itself was older and a bit run down. I know they’re redoing the pool next year so that will help. Staff were okay, not the friendliest. We had to walk a lot due to no availability of golf carts for transportation. Overall, not sure the stay was worth the money.

The staff went above and beyond. The property is being renovated which is said might take 2 years but it is quiet. The grounds are beautiful. They have golf carts to get you to your room, front desk, pool, restaurant and parking. They have a pool bar with restaurant, a restaurant and a small cafe which has staples to buy. There is an onsite area to get a taxi but highly recommend renting a jeep to get around the island. About 8 min drive to Cruz bay with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Just be aware September to November a lot of restaurants and businesses shut down on the island. But it is still a great time to go because it is not busy at all! Very relaxing

As a westin vacation owner I am absolutely embarrassed to say we own here. The staff and service were both horrific and the property is in need of basic maintenance…..which does not appear to be a priority for the organization. The clientele has also changed since we purchased here in 2014 and clearly the majority of guests are not owners here. All in all, the Westin is a black eye on St John…..which is otherwise a slice of heaven on earth

The room was dated and needed renovated, clearly see prior leaks, rusted lights…we were miles away from the pool although we did have a close by private pool which was good but needed TLC. Overall, the rooms were big and we were able to park out front. The golf carts were easily available to get around the property. The restaurant was close by but the bar was expensive. We didn’t spend much time at the resort as there were much better beaches on the island. Worst part was having to call for towels and coffee midway through as we had not received a room clean. The resort was ok but not worth the cost. Will do a villa next time.

We got stranded after a hike because staff told us the taxi would return to get us. When we told them what happened, a different staff person told us they dont control the taxis. We can understand that, it then dont give visitors misinformation

Beautiful property with expansive grounds. The pool and beach area are beautiful, but we were very disappointed that guests were permitted to personal music systems very loudly at both locations. For a resort of this cost and caliber, we expected a more upscale experience. Also, the food at the restaurants was disappointing, even for a hotel, and lemongrass was terrible. Also, the hotel made no mention of the villa rooms being across the street, up an enormous hill and only accessible via golf cart thereby completely separating you from the amenities of the resort. The Westin has a monopoly on St John and could do better to elevate the experience of staying there.

This resort is not the relaxing mecca it is portrayed to be. First off we were placed in a handicap accessible room with an odd floor plan. With a very few exceptions, the hospitality staff seem to be listless and bored to be there. There is one large pool and it is full of 8-12 year olds throwing balls across it bothering and intruding upon the relaxtion of adults. Nothing is included in the room price, but the room. Even social events at the pool area where by fee. It's like flying Spirit Airlines. The only restaurant that served breakfast was closed half the week. This only left a mini starbucks for breakfast. A meal at the outdoor restaurant came with a can of bug spray. Biting bugs were everywhere. The shuttle service within the resort was sketchy at best, Do your research before spending $600 a night to relax here. The bright spot is that the grounds were beautifully maintained. We won't return to this resort or any other Marriott owned resort.

We were offered a different room after I complained but we had unpacked and were taking a nap. The next day, the toilet was fixed then the handle broke. The shower was a major repair so was not done (there was a second shower and toilet).

Hotel sits on large, spacious grounds. There's a very nice beach with complimentary watersports, and a beautiful pool. There are lots of amenities: tennis courts, gym, bar cafe, etc, so there's plenty to do, even if you want to take it easy for a day and stay on the hotel grounds. When you want to go and explore the island, safari cabs are always on standby, and there's free parking for your rental car. Most rooms have beautiful views of the bay and the area, with fully equipped kitchens and balconies. There's a supermarket nearby, a couple hundred feet away, an easy walk. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the general ambiance is laid back, relaxing and tranquil. Rooms seem to sell out fast, so book it while you can.

The property should remove the signage about the spa, which was confusing because I understand the spa has been closed for a while. Finally, the maintenance staff should be sensitive to light sleepers because my husband and I were awakened one morning by power washing or something loud that was being done at 3am near our building.

I love this property. This was my second visit. Everything is as seen on site. Majority of service staff is accomidating and very friendly. However, towel/pool service and front desk personnel are always combative, openly. Even hearing a women refuse popcorn to a child at the pool for not actuality watching the poolside movie. Seemed petty and outwardly agressivve at times. Cleanliness of grounds and rooms are superior. Restaurant and golf cart guys are the true winners on this property. Pool needs daily vaccuming. They get a daily cleaning, but more attention to detail could be had. Overall a great property and by far superior in the area. Work on service in the aforementioned areas, and it would be perfect.

BUT, we now know- if you take your passport (I know is USVI and 'not needed') then there is a somewhat faster line - so TAKE YOUR PASSPORT. If you have Global Entry, there is an even faster line, but you MUST have the actual physical card with you.
