Good, clean hotel. Properly located. Two minor sides is basic things like shampoo and conditioner in the showers. There is one body wash/shampoo in one that wrecked my hair. Second, breakfast is not included and very expensive compared to the local prices of food. It is much cheaper to get fresh breakfast from a supermarket close by.

Lovely hotel but lacks customer service

We mentioned in our booking we would require parking. On check-in we were told to just go to park around the corner.
No mention that we were required to prebook online.
Safe in the room was locked so we couldn't use it and no milk to make tea or coffee.
The hotel was very clean & tidy but lacks customer service.

No key was available when we arrived so we were taken to our room, awhile later another couple with the key and our room number walked into our room, I went down to reception and reported it and was finally given a key to our room but it did not work, back to reception.
Later asked for a taxi for the following day and was told that they would ring us, nothing happened had to go back to reception. Not very happy with management of booking in etc.

This hotel is very centrally located and the secure parking made it super easy as a stopover in Gouda. There were plenty of spaces in the underground car park and the lift went straight to hotel reception or to rooms (with scanning room key). Breakfast was really pleasant and staff were friendly. Our room was ideal for a family and had all the basics. Gouda is a lovely place!

Very nice hotel. The only problem was I had difficulty in getting in to the bath, and the floor of the bath was very slippery. Have a knee problem and it was not safe. I asked for a rubber slip mat, but there wasn’t one available.

When I looked for the receptionist he was nowhere to be seen - I had to ask a kitchen man for two clean cups.

The property was great, good location to town center and the train station. Staff were friendly and the lounge was a lot of fun. Room was typical European size but adequate for what I needed. My only complaint was the WiFi and that was my only connection to back home and there were 2 out of 5 nights where I had no signal at all. Very frustrating.

Two night stay taking in the sights of Gouda and Delft .. nice location and overall quiet in spite of being in town.

Only complaints were that the room wifi was weak (front desk said they were working on it) and it seemed odd that they stopped the free coffee in reception at 12 noon. Yes we had coffee pot and fixings in the room, but would have been nice to have a fancy coffee like cappuccino before bed. We stayed at Best Western in Groningen and there the machine was available 24 hours

A good family trip

A great few days in the city of Gouda. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking was easy and convenient. A few little issues with the restocking of things in the room were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The hotel is located a short walk from the market square in a convenient quiet location. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel reception said that what Expedia sold me does not match the room (Expedia: executive room with double sofa bed) however hotel provided a single sofa bed. The reception said they don’t care about what Expedia requests. This is disappointing because we go to the hotel arriving 9 pm with an expectation and it is very difficult to change it at that time. I would expect Expedia to quote what the hotel provides rather than what they might provide. In general hotel was clean. Breakfast was poor. They didn’t cook the type of eggs I wanted. They didn’t make cappuccino. They had coffee machine which made bad coffee. They had good choices of cheese. Reception gave us 3 room keys one of them didn’t work. They didn’t give us the usual info the reception gives like breakfast time, on site facilities. I asked the reception whether there are good restaurants around. She said they are all closing at 22:00. We ourselves found a very good and Unique restaurant which served until midnight

The hotel is located near the old town area.

It’s 5 minute walk to the old town area and 10 minute walk from the Gouda station.

There is convenience store located 400 meters from the hotel. There are restaurants nearby.

Room is quite large, clean and comfortable.

Shower is in the bathtub. There is no door for bathtub.

The staff is very kindly and polite. Check in process is very fast.

It’s very good for everyone who stay in Gouda.

Gouda best western plus city hotel

We stayed at the Best Western plus city hotel on the way back from a cycle tour through northern Germany and the Netherlands. We fould the hotel clean, convenient and friendly. There was a secure place to leave our by bicycles and a good restaurant. The hotel was in easy walking distance from the center of Gouda. Ideal for a city visit.

Gouda has a very pretty town centre based around the Hog, a square full of bars and eateries and not too touristy.

Couple of things which were different
You cant load or unload your luggage in front of the hotel, there is no temp. Parking.
My cab deiver drove right up to the front door.
On Sunday i had a coffee in the restaurant around noon
Service was good until we wanted a second round
We had a hard time finding somebody.

Best Little Gem in Gouda! Stay here!

This hotel is amazing. A little jewel in the middle of The Netherlands for travelers who are accustomed to things not common in Dutch hotels. The room was much larger than a typical Dutch hotel and had a gorgeous bathtub. The staff was incredibly kind & helpful and even sold me stamps and then posted my postcards for me. The breakfast was excellent - one of the best we had in our 2 week bike tour throughout the country. It is a very short & easy walk to downtown Gouda!

The hotel was really close to the city centre, it was super easy to walk into the centre and all around, and back to the hotel. Stayed here one night on a business trip. Id say the Hotel is great but a little overpriced for what you get. Room is great, bed is super large and comfortable and I have no complaints.

It would be nice if a basic breakfast was included at the rate paid.

Lovely hotel

Great location for visiting Gouda

The hotel is in such a good location.
We like the facilities overall but find the modern rooms strange with hanging space by no wardrobe.

Nice hotel in a great location-some disapoontments

A very stylish hotel in a newly renovated area close to Gouda Centre. The beds were comfortable, but the room is sparse. The bath area is part of the room and is not behind a door. Service was poor - we reported a wifi problem in our room, which was not fixed in the three days we stayed there. The breakfast was a disapoontment - for 15 euros per person, we don't expect prepackaged omelettes.

Modern hotel good location

Stayed for one night - very comfortable, modern hotel - good sized room, very clean & quiet. Fridge in room.
Easy walking distance of Gouda central square as well as the railway and bus stations.
Staff very pleasant and efficient. Would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel. Close to downtown.

Gouda does not have many choices as far as hotels go so this is a good addition for the town and the region. I was here for 3 nights over the Easter weekend. My room overlooked the courtyard so it was quiet but I felt compelled to keep the curtains closed at night. Lots of windows overlooking the same courtyard. The staff was pleasant and spoke excellent English, as is expected in the Netherlands. Good quality for the price. One of the better Best Western hotels I have stayed at.

Nice and comfortable hotel

Easy to find the parking space. The room was good and location was not too far from the city center.
Actually, I can not find any issues and problems throughout my stay including wifi, bed, rooms, etc.
We enjoyed candle night ceremony in Gouda.
Only issue was room rate. It was not very reasonable considering the location. If it is special rate for the day wihch has candle night, it may be reasonable though.

Nice hotel near city center

Nice hotel, well placed to the center. Bit of a walk from the train station, but less than 1km. Not much food nearby, and no food was available in the hotel, so be sure to eat before a late arrival.

A solid hotel!

The hotel was just fine - nothing truly remarkable although I should say the quality of the food in the restaurant has really come on in leaps and bounds over the last six months. The pear and blue cheese salad was excellent and comes highly recommended. Everything was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is ten minutes walk from the rail station and is really easy to find.

Beautiful hotel in a great location.

This is the second time for me at this hotel. It has many excellent features, plus a great location a few minutes walk from the old city center of Gouda, a very old and very beautiful city that is friendly to the pedestrian. It is constructed within the shell of an old factory building, an excellent adaptive renovation. Rooms are compact but very well designed with modern fittings. It is spotlessly clean. My only complaints are iffy internet service (sometimes fine, sometimes not at all) and my room was colder than I like and the temperature was fixed. The street level restaurant and bar are beautiful and comfortable with a very helpful, friendly staff. The food is very Dutch, too bland for my taste, but I think considered to be quite good by Dutch visitors. The buffet breakfast is pretty good, and there is excellent coffee. Underground parking is 10 Euros a day. If you want to explore the old city this is a perfect choice. I think is it very good value.
