Nuestra estadía fue excelente de principio a fin. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas, amplias y siempre estuvieron impecablemente limpias. Las instalaciones del hotel se encuentran bien cuidadas y el ambiente es agradable y acogedor.
Quiero destacar especialmente el trato amable y profesional de todo el personal, quienes siempre nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos. Sin embargo, merece una mención muy especial Marleni, una persona excepcional. Desde nuestra llegada estuvo siempre atenta a cada detalle, pendiente de nuestras necesidades y dispuesta a ayudar con una sonrisa. Su amabilidad, dedicación y calidez humana hicieron que nuestra experiencia fuera aún más especial. Personas como ella marcan la diferencia y reflejan el verdadero espíritu de servicio del hotel.
En general, el hotel es excelente y sin duda lo recomendaríamos a familiares y amigos. Como sugerencia de mejora, consideramos que las actividades de recreación podrían ser más variadas, especialmente en el área de la piscina, para ofrecer una experiencia aún más entretenida a los huéspedes.

POCs BEWARE: Stayed at this resort for a week and only had one day that was good. This resort and staff catered more to white guests. I paid for a the Excellence club package which included beach side service. Of the four hours I was at the beach area not one member of the staff offered me a drink, beach towel etc. I had to get up and get my drinks the only time a member of the staff checked in on me was when I already had a drink. I complained to the concierge desk they were not helpful. I put a do not disturb sign on my door as I was changing into my swim suit the maid comes into my room. Thankfully I stopped her in time or she would have seen me in my birthday suit. I accidentally cut myself shaving pretty deep and called the front desk for a band aid for the staff to tell me they don’t am have any band aids I had to buy them in the gift shop. Thankfully the spa had a band aid that when I called to reschedule my appointment because I was bleeding the staff at the spa was kind enough to give me a couple bandaids. The staff at the Grill restaurant were so rude and did not seem like they wanted to wait on me but for the white guests I observed they got better treatment and kinder service. Overall this always a terrible experience and def not relaxing. If you are a person of color stay away from this resort. PC has other resorts you can spend your money at. This was such a waste of money I would never return. Horrible treatment and experience.

Keila Is the water aerobics instructor and does lots of things around the resort so you will always see her. She is so fun and the life of the party. I am definitely going back just for her she was the highlight of my trip. She is truly the best so sweet and made my trip amazing.

We loved everything about this place, the room, the pools, the swim up bar, the beachfront, the restaurants... everything except for one thing. Many of the hot tubs were not working, including ours outside our swim up room. We told a staff member walking by and he said they would fix it that day, but never did. Other than that, it was amazing and beautiful and the staff was awesome. The food was fantastic. They upgraded our room for free, gave us cold champagne every morning in an ice bucket, as well as fully restocking our mini fridge and snacks every turn down. The beach was great, except for the Sargassum seaweed which was insane, however, that was not the fault of the property. They had machines running constantly day and night trying to get rid of that seaweed. I would definitely stay here again and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have a kid-free booze filled time!

Our rooftop plunge pool suite was amazing, a vacation in itself. They had a bottle of champagne and 4 bottles of top shelf alcohol and a full frig stocked and ready for us. We loved everything it not a memorable experience with food, the breakfast buffet was very good, and the Mexican restaurant was terrific. Grilled wings at the Sports Bar were so good. Coffee cafe was excellent, was very spoiled with the options.

My wife and I have been traveling together for 32 yrs of marriage. We have traveled family resorts and now we started Adult Only. We have been coming her for several years and find it the most peaceful place we have visited. Staff are very friendly and very nice. We have become very close to some of them and always a pleasure seeing them. The resort is impressive and very clean. Just got back in May and already booked for September.

This was me and my girlfriend’s second time coming here this year and we love it. Really no complaints at all, friendly staff, clean room, food is good, love the swim up bar, and the beach is right there. I would recommend getting the excellence club package when choosing your room! Additionally, if you’re a gym goer the gym is really nice here basically has everything you need. Would also recommend if you’re looking for a nice calm resort with no kids but occasional concerts. Not really a party resort but there is a club where you’ll have tons of fun and good music you can also recommend songs.

I recently stayed at Excellence El Carmen in Punta Cana and had mixed feelings about my experience.
The resort itself was beautiful, and I generally enjoyed my vacation. The property was well-maintained, the atmosphere was relaxing, and many of the staff members I encountered during my stay were courteous and professional.
Unfortunately, my experience took a very negative turn after I returned home. Upon reviewing my bank account, I discovered charges from the resort that I did not understand and that significantly exceeded what I expected. When I contacted customer service for assistance, I was unable to get immediate help resolving the issue. I was referred from one department to another, and during one of my calls, the conversation was disconnected without any follow-up.
The hotel later informed me that one of the charges related to wine consumed during my stay and provided an explanation regarding the currency conversion. However, despite my follow-up communications, I did not receive a timely response to my concerns or the documentation I requested. As a guest, I expected clearer communication regarding any charges posted to my account and a more responsive approach when a billing dispute was raised.
The situation became especially stressful because the charges affected the available funds in my bank account and created financial hardship upon my return home. No guest wants to spend time after a vacation trying to resolve unexpected billing issues.

We celebrated our 25th Anniversary here and had an amazing time. I felt so spoiled. The food was amazing, especially Agave restaurant. If you are staying on Thursday night definitely go to the Dominican dinner, it was so unique and fun. I wish we had known about it ahead of time because I would have eaten there instead of just checking it out after eating elsewhere.

We also really liked the fitness center. It is by far one of the best hotel fitness centers we have seen with the most amazing view. I have attached a picture of the view.

The best part of this hotel is that even though it was almost full it never felt that way. There are enough restaurants and bars so that no place was ever crowded.

Beach is unusable with all the seaweed. Transportation from the airport is chaotic with hustlers all over. Splurge and pay extra for a premium transportation service. Bring about $300 cash for tips, you’ll be handing them out left and right. Many of the Excellence club perks are used by everyone including the private beach area and pools. Staff were amazing, spa is great. The private pool suite was my favorite part. Good food at every restaurant. Overall I would highly recommend.

There are very few resorts that really cater to vegetarians or special diets and this is one of the very few. This was exceptional for us with most restaurants offering vegetarian options and upon arrival at each restaurant were asked to reconfirm any dietary restructions or allergies matching what they keep online in their file at all times. We particularily enjoyed the attention given to menus at each of the many restaurants with many creatively successful Dominican interpretations of other cuisines.

The all day onsite Aroma café offers best in class café experience with refreshed delicate pastries throughout the day that made for wonderful stops throughout the day. As very light social drinkers that do not spend time in bars we appreciated the presence of a high end café staffed with their own chef patissier producing pastries and various icecreams.

This was a luxury experience with a Domincan feel at all times from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. All coordinations are done via the convenient Excellence Resorts app we installed including a chat to remain in contact and any interventions we requested had follow-ups. We used the phones a few times but the app was generally more convenient.

The resort is not only adult only but offered many quiet areas where we could enjoy peace and quiet as a couple without being bothered by loud music or activities. There were quiet areas for beach also finding chairs never an issue for us.

If you have been to a resort like Unico 20 87 or Ateleir you will be disappointed in this resort. It feels like 95 percent of the staff hates their job. There are a few great employees that almost swayed me into liking it but then the next person you talk to sways you the other way.
Overall a pretty property but the staff is not great at all. Food was very hit or miss, never knew if you were going to get a good meal or not. Very disappointed that we paid a lot of money just to be at a mediocre resort

Resort grounds are exceptional. Our suite was v nice. One pot light was out which was noted and supposed to be fixed during our stay but it was not. Coffee table leg was loose and broken. Beaches are nice but slow to remove seaweed. The resorts next door had pristine beaches with seaweed removed completely on a daily basis. Our stay was 5 days. First seaweed cleanup was on day 4 of our stay and was not done very well. Food is v good. Lobster House was the best. Oregano was v good. Breakfast at The Kitchen was v good. Incredible selection. We did not get to enjoy the complimentary hydrotherapy session that came with our suite as we assumed we could use the facilities at any time. Wrong. Had to be booked. They didn’t have availability so we missed out on that. We also tried one morning to book a luxury couples pedicure for later that day. Again no availability so that was most disappointing. Most high end resorts we have stayed at offer same day availability for most spa services. Overall v good but the issues not above detracted from our stay and result in a 4 star rating instead of 5.

let’s start off with the good. the good thing is this place has a nice gym and the pools aren’t bad. now let’s get to the bad, the bad is the workers are miserable and won’t give you the time of day unless you tip upfront with 10-20 dollars, the food is awful everything was lukewarm and slapped onto a plate, there were barely any activities scheduled, there were little ants crawling in my room, the mini fridge was leaking fluid. overall horrible resort and stay, i don’t know why this was rated so highly. such a disappointing stay.

They exceeded my expectations on every level. The check in was quick and smooth, I used the online check in, so all they had to do was give me my keys and then they took us to our room. We had a junior suite swim out and it was outstanding, the roomnwas very clean, in good condition, and the AC worked sometimes to good. The food was excellent at every restaurant, our favorite was the steak house, Mexican and surprisingly the sports bar!! The best bar to get a drink was Cielo, they had the 2 nicest bartenders, Carmen and Erika, they also made the best Bahama mammas at the resort. The beach was absolutely beautiful and there was plenty of loungers, and service on the beach was very good, and was always around. This place is a great place to stay, its very chill and relaxing!!!

The guys at Olas Bar were excellent, especially Miguel, and the girls at Café Aroma were very special and attentive. Overall, it was a very good experience; this is the fourth time we've visited. They lost their lobster offer and justify it with the closed season, but we know there's another reason. Hector was super attentive and professional with the entertainment.

Absolutely loved it! The staff were amazing, grounds exceptional, our room was beautiful, spacious 2 bedroom garden view. Loved the big lounger on the balcony.
24 hour Room service was wonderful. Loved the overall vibe- not a crazy party place but still fun & lots of activities if that’s your thing.
Loved that the resort wasn’t huge, easy to find everything, the restaurants were both beautiful & delicious. Aroma was such a great option- fresh baked goods and yummy cappuccinos and a great selection. Martini bar was another favourite. Pool area is nice, clean, the staff were great and loved the umbrellas for every 2 chairs.
Never had a problem finding a seat even when we got to pool area around 11am.
I would and have highly recommend Excellence El Carmen and will definitely be back.

It was excellent! We’ve been going to Hard Rock for over 12 years, but this year decided to change. We wanted something smaller and quieter. If you are looking for a party resort, this is not for you. This is where luxury meets relaxation. The service was excellent, staff worked hard to tractor out the seaweed from the beach. The rooms were cleaned daily (sometimes they came twice in one day to offer cleaning again!) rooms maintained perfectly. We booked a swim up room and it was the best decision. No matter what building your room is in it’s a perfect walking distance to the beach, the main building, main pool and the restaurants. One thing I LOVED about this resort, is there is NO timeshare or membership. Every vacation taken in the past has ruined our day and sometimes several days because of the constant insistence of them trying to get us to buy a membership.

My ONLY negative comment is the quality of the food. The variety of the food is great, but the food was hit or miss. I’ve had much better food at different resorts. I also wish there was a buffet option for lunch instead of breakfast only. The room service for breakfast was excellent, but the room service for lunch was not edible, it was honestly horrible. Our favorite restaurant was the grill. Oregano was hit or miss.
One recommendation I’d make is the beverage service on the beach, I wish they’d come by more frequently, but honestly the bar is so close to the beach we didn’t mind getting up and walking over.

I really enjoyed my stay at Excellence El Carmen. Had no trouble communicating with the staff. Our room was clean. We upgraded to Club. The only complaint about that was the pool service. We were served drinks at the beach club but at the pool, no one came around. We had to go to the bar if we wanted drinks. We had our free water therapy which was wonderful. We paid for the upgrade head and shoulder massage. Disappointed with that because my friend and I both paid for 30 minute upgrade and the service was split between one spa person. I feel we should have got 2 people for that part and a full 30 minutes each.

Resort was a 1/4 full so a lot of restaurants were closed. we have been to this resort 3 times now and for the first time ever, we tried to book a reservation at a restaurant and were told there were no available times. We walked by the resturant at 7 pm and there were more empty seats than filled seats. Was very disappointed at the lack of care in the staff. the other pet peeve, the \"Lobster House\" does not offer any Lobster - none. No rolls, no tails, no soup, no salad...how can a Lobster House not offer lobster? First world problems i know, was just silly though.

Staff is phenomenal! Restaurants are mostly “try to be good” and “look good” but only 2 of them are really nice. The Grill and the VIP one. Breakfast buffet is also very good.
Rooms are very good and clean 2x a day- bed were made and towels changed, but 2x a day clean and didn’t have the floors wiped or mopped and I had sand.
Room service is excellent 24/7.
I just give it a 4 star because:
-sauna is just for the spa where massages and treatments are from $180
- restaurants are bad for lunch and better for dinner
- Punta Cana location but they play country and American music the pool- what a bummer if you want to get away from America and have a DR experience. Big bummer for us.
- night activities are very tacky like most of the resorts- but I think this could be different. Live shows and singers; I found only the Dominican presentation very nice.

Furthermore, drinks are great and vast variety.

Again, staff is amazing. Be ready to tip them!

We loved the property, and the staff was amazing—truly beyond expectations.

Pros:

Beautiful beachfront location
Pools were clean, well-maintained, and visually stunning
The entire property was well kept and inviting
Beach, pool, and room service were all top notch
The spa was excellent
Restaurants — The Grill and Spice were absolutely delicious
A great variety of daily activities offered, which made the stay even more enjoyable

Cons:

The room showed some signs of age. Not terrible, but you could see some repair and patchwork.

We had an amazing time and would definitely go back and highly recommend this property!

We had a great time at the resort Excellence El Carmen. The rooms were clean, staff was great, restaurants served food with our dietary needs and the property was very nice overall. It is a bit far from the airport which is its downside.

We had a 4 night stay at this resort. Staff was rude and not so attentive if you were not giving a tip. Food was not good only in the sports bar. We also paid to upgrade and those upgrades wasn’t met! We arrived in the room and it was open beverage in the mini fridge. Night two it was a roach in the mini fridge! We asked to change rooms they moved our rooms and gave our upgrade fee back which was supposed to be returned within 14 business days it has not been returned. I’ve made several attempts to contact them and they just keep hanging up. Also, Hotel staff also told us that they had a free shuttle to the mall which turned out not to be free. They wanted us to pay 150 American dollars after we returned to the hotel. and on different occasions someone enter our room while we were asleep. They were not housekeeping and did not announce themselves. I can go on and on about my stay, but I would never stay at any excellence resort ever again based on this experience.

We had a great stay at this property. It was our first time visiting an Excellence resort and we had a great time! We have stayed at many all inclusive resort brands and things that we appreciated with Excellence were. 1. no sales pitch to join a club. 2. we did a couples treatment at their spa (it was great) and no upselling at the end for expensive lotions and creams. 3. Premium liquors and quality bar tenders. We will definitely visit Excellence again at one of their locations next year.

Me and my husband travel lots, and in mixed groups of adults only, with children, adventurous and chill. This was one of our absolute favorite places to stay.

We want to bring back our family with us and a few friends. It was the perfect balance of fun activities for every level, and chill time.

The staff is so friendly that we got to know lots of them by their first names and they'd recognize us from far away. We definitely felt like we were being \"hosted\" by everyone there.

We had a wonderful stay at El Carmen! The property was clean, well maintained and our swim-up room was gorgeous. Our room was conveniently located between the pool/beach and main building. There were great activities planned throughout the day and evening programs as well. There are so many food options and they are all delicious. The Hibachi was a great experience and food was great. The spa was amazing and staff were great. We enjoyed a wonderful massage and hydrotherapy. The spa was clean and looked like it was out of a magazine. We would recommend this resort and would love to stay here again!

Absolute Perfection at Excellence El Carmen – Highly Recommended!
I spent 7 wonderful days at this resort in April, and it was a flawless experience. We stayed in a suite with a private pool, which I highly recommend for anyone looking for true comfort and a relaxing getaway.
The grounds and the beach are impeccably maintained and very clean. What I loved most is the balance—there is something for everyone, whether you are looking for great dining, active entertainment, or just peace and quiet.
Everything was perfect from start to finish. I truly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel!

The property was gorgeous and very well-maintained. I am an early riser, and there were people out maintaining the grounds and buildings from 6 am and on - all day. The people were also fantastic.

I would like to make a shout-out to manager Marleny, who made sure our experience was over-the-top in a professional, unassuming way. She is fantastic!
