We only used the river pool since we had a “swim up” room. It’s more of a walk out to the river pool than a usual swim up, but it was good enough. The other pools were too crowded, loud, and not our scene at all. It was loud late into the night, and even with a fan and using 2 fan apps, we still did not get restful sleep. Spa was good, did feel rushed and herded through the pool area so that part was not relaxing. Excursions were good. Overall, pretty decent, but we won’t come back.

The pools were great. Depending on the vibe you wanted there was a pool for everyone from the more relaxed pool, to the party pool, to the lively swim up bar pool with water volleyball nearby.
The rooms were nice. Everything amenity you needed was there. Fully stocked fridge with water, pop and beers. The hand steamer was a great alternative to an iron. The patio jet tubs were quite run down. Covers falling of, broken nobs, leaking/cracked tub. The water temp was finicky and tough to get right on both the tub and the bathroom shower.
The food, as is with most all inclusives, nothing to write home about and will most likely leave you with some kind of stomach issue. The breakfast buffet or coffee bar were the best part food wise.
The staff are attentive, pleasant and happy to help. Everyone on staff we spoke with was really great and happy to be there.
Overall, I give the resort a consistent 4 stars. We were there for 10 days.

The room and staff were outstanding. The French Restaurant was our favorite. We went there twice and had great meals both times. The Italian Restaurant was marginal. There was over an hour wait for the table and food was ok, but barely warm. The poolside service was great. This Resort was a great place to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary.❤️

Manuel our butler was absolutely amazing. He made us feel comfortable right from the start and was always in contact with us making sure we were doing great! I would highly recommend him to anyone. I most definitely will come back again and request him as well. Another staff member who went above and beyond as well was Kelvin at the pool. He was always making sure my friends and I were having an amazing time and caring for us. Overall all the staff was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

We went for my husband's 50th birthday and had a great time. The rooms and grounds were beautiful. There was always something to do, You could relax or party. Your choice.

I thought the food was very good. Especially the Strip steakhouse, Sofritos which served authentic Dominican food, and the Italian Restaurant on the Dreams Onyx side which we had access to.

The only recommendation I have to improve the experience for travelers is that there should be more beach/pool chairs available. The resort was sold out the days I was there and we had to rent a cabana for $150 for 1 day because we couldn't find any available chairs on the beach or by the pool. The cabana was amazing, but I don't think we should have had to pay any additional money to find a place to sit/lay out after spending so much money for a warm weather vacation.

There should be a chair for every guest without upselling you for a $100 covered bed/$150 cabana on the beach or $300 for an \"open bar\" seat near the pool when the entire resort is open bar/all inclusive.

Overall, it was wonderful and I will be back. Next time I will bring my reuseable metal straws because to be environmentally friendly the bars don't have straws or only have paper straws.

Beautiful resort, lovely food and great choice of restaurants. Staff were extremely helpful. We had a swimup room which was excellent. We were able to do a couple of excursions during the week too that were great and lots of fun. Only downside is that at both the beach and pools nearly all chairs were booked/taken throughout the day, but this would be an issue everywhere.

We got the XHale access through Expedia and really glad we did . It gave us access to easier checking and out, a separate bar near the room, a delicious uncrowded breakfast, and a separate pool. Jesus, our concierge, answered many questions for us and even solved a potential big issue for us. The resort felt new, clean, and not too crowded even though we were there on a holiday weekend. It’s well laid out.

The resort is beautiful! The pools were great and the beach was warm and gorgeous. We booked at the Xhale level, which was absolutely worth it and really enhanced our stay. There was plenty of entertainment and activities, and the crowd was mostly in their 30s to 50s, creating a grown fun vibe. We loved the variety of specialty restaurants, the buffet (and its late night snack availability!). We would have loved more Dominican-themed events to really feel like we were in the DR. But overall, a great choice for our group celebration and a memorable stay.

Resort amazing and daily cleaning of the room. Do wished house keeping would have clean room earlier in the day. A few times we were out in the resort and room wasn’t clean till the evening. Bathrooms need an upgrade. Food great need more home land food, I travel I would love to try food from the there. Security was races, made friends with a black wonderful couple from London and was called out. But for overall great place to spend vacation at.

> The hotel lacks proper maintenance, and there are several neglected areas throughout the property. While some staff members are friendly and others are not, this seems to be part of the Dominican personality. The food also leaves a lot to be desired.

Regarding the facilities, the pool water is very cold, and the jacuzzi water is also completely cold. The spa is quite neglected in the hydrotherapy areas; however, the massage experience was excellent, as the therapist was outstanding and the massage room itself was in excellent condition.

On a positive note, the housekeeping service was excellent, and the staff is very attentive to keeping the bathrooms clean at all times, including those near the pool area. The hotel does not provide an ironing board or a regular iron, only a steamer, and there is no hook to hang clothes, which makes ironing less convenient.

As for the beach, it is important to consider that it is located on the Atlantic Ocean side, therefore the water is not turquoise blue. The staff working at the bar near the cafeteria are very pleasant and provide good service.

Finally, the hotel did a very good job organizing the new year party despite the rain. The DJ was excellent; however, the live band was terrible.

Room was kept clean. Had a few towels with mascara that were either already used (not ours) or just didn’t get clean from the wash. They replaced them when asked though and daily. Amenities were great.

Good variety of food. Quality was iffy. Some good some not great. New Year’s Eve food was freaking fantastic! Not kidding best lobster I’ve ever had. I kinda felt cheated though as at all the restaurants on the daily menus when it says lobster I’d actually get shrimp. I asked where the lobster was and they said it was in the broth… daily menu is a bit misleading (happened at a lot of the restaurants in the lobster items). Also, only had one buffet open for lunch. Nothing else. I was upset to find out there were no lunch sit down restaurants. Only if you paid extra to be an exhale member which I think is crazy.

Loved that we could go between the resorts! There were only like 10 free tubes for the lazy river though at dreams onyx. This was sad. Pool water at both resorts were freezing! The ocean was warmer.

We sent the following to the customer service manager
1. On arrival Fri at 6:30 pm when we were tired and hungry front desk clerk immediately tried to upsell us xhale saying our booked room would be noisy we would be very limited in restaurants and could only use public beach. I asked him how much he said $120 per night. When we said no he asked how much we would pay. I said no. I negotiate all year long and didn’t go on vacation at an all inclusive resort to negotiate. He did not tell us about downloading app restaurants on property or anything else.
2. When we reached room and went out on patio water was overflowing from balcony above. Called Jhanna it was fixed when we came back from dinner
3. Luggage took 90 min to get to room and we had to call twice.
4. When we attempted to use bidet it filled and it turned out the control for the drain was broken. We texted Jhanna it was fixed by leaving drain permanently open which was fine but whenever this room is used that must be checked.
5. Hooks on front curtain tear sheer curtain when closing and end of curtain is frayed. At one point curtains couldn’t close. Texted and they were fixed but continue to catch and tear when closing
6. We were out on patio and accidentally closed door behind us. It locked. There needs to be a sign warning guests about that.
7. In general buffet at spoon is crowded claustrophobic and feels like a school cafeteria

Entertainment was amazing. Really fun resort but the service is nothing to brag about. Not the most friendly staff. The check in is by far the most disappointing part of the trip. Do not think that having any Expedia status will give you an upgrade at all… even if available. They said it’s only on low season, and it’s not based on availability because there were upgrades available but they wanted money for them. The birthday package is also one price on their site but then three times more when you try to do it.

Overall, I ended up having a good time at this resort, but the check-in experience definitely started things off on the wrong foot. At check-in, there was an issue with my payment. The front desk agent swiped my card multiple times and told me the charges did not go through. However, the charges actually posted across all of my banks, and I was told I still needed to pay again in order to check in. This resulted in me paying twice and having to wait for a refund, which was very inconvenient and stressful after traveling. Next time, I will make sure to pay everything in advance before arriving to avoid this situation. once we got settled, the experience improved significantly. Our VIP host Willy truly made the stay much better. He was attentive, professional, and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The resort itself is clean, modern, and well-maintained. I loved the room we stayed in; it was comfortable and nicely designed. However, I did book through Hotels.com and did not receive the room I originally selected. I paid for an ocean-view room but was given a pool-view room, while still being charged the ocean-view rate, which was disappointing. Despite the hiccups with check-in and room assignment, the resort atmosphere, cleanliness, and service (especially from our VIP host) helped turn the trip around, and I ultimately enjoyed my stay.

Overall, this was a decent resort and a solid stay. The property has good bones but definitely needs some updating—certain areas feel a bit dated and could benefit from renovations. One downside was the pool closing early; a 6:30 PM closing time is pretty limiting, especially for guests who want to relax after a full day of activities or excursions. On the positive side, the food was pretty good with a nice variety, and I was generally satisfied with the dining options. With some updates and extended pool hours, this resort could easily be a much better experience.
