All the staff were very friendly and engaging. Lots of different pool options. Room was very nice, clean, and fridge was stocked daily. Food was good , French restaurant was our favorite. Lots of different bars. Loved the fact that you could also enjoy the neighboring resort (Breathless, adults only). Would recommend staying here!

The hotel and its staff are wonderful, BUT the medical service is a major issue. ADVICE: Don't even think about going to the on-site medical office, as the cost is exorbitant and disproportionate. They scare you during the consultation and then refer you to a private clinic that charges even more; in my opinion, the hotel's medical office—or the doctor on duty—is in league with the private clinic to drive up the charges. The service is terrible and the conditions are appalling considering the price. So, if you have a medical issue, I advise you to go to a nearby hospital yourself rather than the hotel clinic, because they will charge you a fortune. In my case, they charged $225 just to see my niece, and at the private clinic, a mere four-minute consultation with a pediatrician cost $630. What’s telling is that the fee for the hotel consultation was actually billed through the private clinic, which makes me suspect collusion between the two.

Lots of sargassum, nearby resorts did a way better job of cleaning the beach than Onyx.

Staff is very friendly however the drinks are heavily watered down. Food is okay, typical resort quality.

Hot tubs in the rooms were very dirty/unusable.

We did have a problem with housekeeping services, the food, Hyatt trying to sell us basically a timeshare and wasting 90 minutes of our time. Also, the excursions sold in the lobby were misrepresented. It’s fair to say we would not return.

Property is nice but at night was like à fraternity house people throwing up/falling all over the place and guys running down the hallway banging on doors at 2am while my family sleep in the room.
Alcohol was terrible too not a single good drink the whole stay had to resort to just drinking beer.
Will not return or recommend there’s much better in Punta Cana

We booked two rooms at Dreams Onyx and were thrilled that the staff gave us connecting rooms. Keeping our family together was a big deal for us! A special thanks to our concierge, Marcus, who was incredibly helpful and constantly checked in to ensure our stay was going well.The rooms were clean and modern, and the twice-daily room service was excellent. Top marks for the pool, the wonderful staff, and the overall family-friendly atmosphere.Unfortunately, my son got stomach cramps on the second day. We were so relieved to find a small medical center on-site, staffed with a doctor and a nurse. They treated him and provided medication that had him feeling better within 24 hours, getting us right back to our vacation.We dined at all of the restaurants and loved the French restaurant, Mercure. This doesn't mean the others were bad—they were all actually really good! The beach was also beautifully maintained and perfect for morning walks. We had a really great experience and will definitely come back.

The property is beautiful, well kept, my room was very big and pretty. They could improve in maintenance if the room the balcony door curtain did not have the features that need to be open, the bath robe hanging in the closet was dirty, and of the 5 amenities that they put in the room I was just left 2 missing the shower cap and the sewing kit etc plus they did not put water bottles and the phone did not worked either I notified everything and it was corrected

We recently stayed at Dreams Onyx in Punta Cana and overall had a really good experience. The resort itself is beautiful, very well maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Check-in was smooth and easy, which was a great start to the trip.

A huge shoutout to Elias, our butler, who was absolutely amazing. He checked in with us daily, made sure we had everything we needed, and was always quick to help. Housekeeping was also very responsive — anytime I requested the room to be cleaned, it was done right away.

One of the best parts of our stay was being a Preferred Club member. Having access to adult-only areas away from kids made the experience much more relaxing. We also loved the easy access to Breathless next door, which gave us more options for entertainment and exploring.

There were a few downsides though. Unfortunately, the food was pretty underwhelming overall, and the drinks were not great for an all-inclusive resort. I think it would be fun if the resort offered a really good “signature drink of the day” to make the experience feel more special.

The room appeared clean at check-in, but there were still a few issues like hair around the room and something left in the toilet, which was disappointing upon arrival.

The nightlife was decent, but everything seemed to shut down pretty early, so don’t expect much late-night entertainment.

The biggest disappointment was definitely the beach. It was completely covered in seaweed.

What can I say? Dreams Onyx is the best! Every year we travel to the D. R. and every year we are at Dreams Onyx. The only change is if we stay 7 or 10 days!!!
The resort is always in tip top shape. Always clean and yards are manicured well. Pools are kept clean. Beach area is cleaned as best they can. This last time it was seaweed season, but they did their best to keep up with it. If seaweed bothers you, don't go during it's season.
We never had a problem getting chairs at any of the pools. In fact it was noon and there were plenty at the main pool. The preferred pool is a little different situation, but chairs were available when we wanted them. I did read in one of the postings that if personal items/ towels are set out on chairs before 8 am. Staff does pick them up and takes to lost and found. Pools open at 8, so after 8 is fine to select chairs and walk away. Most times we would select our chairs and then go to breakfast. Didn't have a problem when we came back.
The food is OKay whether it's the buffet or specialty restaurants. No reservatio needed except for the Hibachi. Which was a great show and food. Our Butler. ANGEL, (THE BEST)did secure us a spot at specialty restaurants anyway. There wasn't ever a line to get in. Service was fast and wait staff pleasant. Please tip them.
Overall it's a wonderful place to vacation. Tip the employees, they work long days. 12 hr shifts, 12days on, 3 off.

This was our first time to Dominican Republic and the dreams onyx hotel was absolutely great. We didn’t realize booking through Expedia we would have a dedicated concierge and boy was he fabulous. Breilin was available most of the day for anything we needed. Towels or drinks for the room? He did It. Making sure our transportation back to PUJ airport done. Bell boys to bring down our luggage? He made everything happen. Breilin truly made our stay easy and welcoming!

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted, and escorted to check in. We stayed at Dream Onyx all-inclusive resort for a relaxing getaway and overall had a great experience. The property was clean, beautiful, and well-maintained, with plenty of space to relax by the pool or beach. The staff was friendly and worked hard to keep guests comfortable throughout the stay.

The food options were better than expected for an all-inclusive resort. There was a good variety at the buffet, and the specialty restaurants offered a nice change of pace. Drinks were included and easy to access from multiple bars around the property. We especially enjoyed the evening entertainment and live music.

The rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily, although some areas could use small updates. Wi-Fi was decent in most public spaces but slower in the room during busy hours.

This was a very nice resort. Very clean and comfortable. Rooms are super cute. I love the access to the sister resort, Breathless. This allows more options to eat, swim, and play. Breathless has the adult side with the casino, while Dreams has the water slides, game room, ice cream shop, and lazy river. I’m not sure if all resorts do this but I was told the liquor has 50% water in them. The drinks were a bit watered down unless you take straight shots or bring your own liquor. Food was decent. Hibachi was amazing. You have to book the Hibachi dinner. Overall, great experience. The welcome was very nice with a cold towel and glass of champagne. The room was ready early which is always convenient when you had a long day of travel. The birthday surprise my hubby paid for that they put together with a bday sash on my door, a cake, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and balloons was soooo cute. They did a great job setting that up. Over all, great vacation stay.

If I had to say bad thing that would just be the beaches were very seaweedy while there but that could just be the season.

Ive stayed at several resorts in DR spanning back 16 years and none compare to this. The service was the best ive ever received anywhere. Our butler, Aris, was ON IT and decked out our room for our anniversary in a beautiful surprise. We spent hours on our first day at the preferred lobby bar and came back every single day to see Angely. Shes a literal angel and made the absolute best drinks plus best convo. The main pool is honestly mid and the preferred family pool is a joke but the preferred adults pool is one of the most impressive pools Ive ever been in and the water park is so much fun. The bartenders at the preferred pool bar, Alejandro and Peter were incredible and so entertaining. We almost booked next door at Breathless but I'm honestly so glad we didn't. Dreams has so much more. We went over to breathless a few times and the pool was always packed. The bar at the breathless Lobby is insanely impressive and the shows are better. The burlesque and queen show were awesome. Now for the most important part the food. I am truly convinced that most people who rate the food negatively went over there looking for mac and cheese and chicken tenders all of which they do have but because this is not America they don't do it very well. What they do very well is all the other food. I didnt have a dish I didnt love, best resort food ever. Overall we had an incredible experience and would absolutely be back!

This was my first visit to the Dominican Republic. I am beyond pleased with our trip! The resort is on a really long, never - ending beach. We walked for miles. The lazy river was great for a relaxing afternoon. There were pools everywhere which provided the perfect option for everyone's individual taste. The ocean was amazing! The sandy bottom made getting in and out really easy. There was snorkeling on site along with kayaks that you could use each day. The food at the restaurants were delicious - we tried them all. The night shows were pretty good with the magic act and Journey being exceptional. We enjoyed the coffee shop, ice cream parlor and the taco truck. Overall, we loved it and would easily return.

Cons: Bathroom was dirty, shower head was broken, the entertainment staff were terrible. They didn’t engage anyone into doing anything, didn’t participate in 92% of activities, some of the staff were insanely rude. There was a roach that ran past the spice restaurant table, and staff don’t know how to handle complaints. At check out they asked me about the urine that we found on the toilet, why you asking me at check out?

Pros: minus the roach, food was good. Plenty of pool space, family friendly, access to breathless, concierge are very pleasnent

This was a great resort with gave us a lot of value for what we paid. For a family of 5, (3 teens 13,13, & 15), my wife and I and the kids had a great time. The staff is top notch with exceptional customer service. They are very hard workers and will meet your needs to help you with a simple request for a drink or helping you find your way. The rooms were very clean and very nice. We even had a little jacuzzi on the back patio. Our concierge was also a great help and helped us figure out little gifts for our family and making a reservation for Spice (overrated IMO). Save yourself the hassle and skip it. My wife and I also sat through the 1.5 hr presentation that they offered upon arrival and stuck to our \"No\" at the end to end up with \"leisure cash\" that we applied to the spa to get a couples massage. All in all, my kids loved the beach, endless supply of food and virgin drinks (pina coladas), pool with 4 slides (\"splash zone\"). We didn't pay extra for any excursions and felt like we still got our money's worth. There are always hourly activities going on and shows at the theater at night. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Beautiful property with great beach access and plenty of pools. Lots of food options and most are pretty good! Lunch can be a bit repetitive but theres so much eating throughout the day anyway. Preferred access is worth it if you want some extra perks, including the personal concierge who takes care of everything for you. Highly recommend Dreams Onyx.

Everything was clean and the staff was so welcoming and hospitable. The staff at the aquatic park named Kari, Felix and Nelson were so pleasant, friendly, professional and most and most of all respectful. It was a pleasure for my kids and I to be at the water park but also staying at Dreams onyx
