The resort and rooms were cockroach infested. They upgraded us to a family suite and it was just worst, we entered our room after the late night magic show to roaches running from the light. They were on the floors and walls. The rooms were filled of mold, even the pillow had mold. The bathroom fixtures are over caulked with mold and hair in the tub and sink. The pullout coach had debris on it. We left the hotel after the first night and would have left sooner if we felt secure leaving at 2am after staff was not helpful. The hotel staff was lagged in their response and had nothing to clean except a broom ( to pick up the roaches we killed). We were also on the first floor and it rained so we also had centipedes. The rooms smelled like a wet mop, and had peeling paint. Highly recommend reconsidering staying here. We moved to another hotel. They didn't refund anything after showing proof of the events and was fully aware having me at their desk til 1 am, they were not helpful.

We loved our stay at this resort. Staff was friendly and helpful. There were so many activities to do. Everything was clean and tidy. There was a problem with the drain in our bathroom and they fixed it right away. Food was good for Dominican standards.

Our room had mold in the a/c unit by the 2 night I woke up coughing terribly asked them could we change rooms for 4 days they denied us , told me they put a humidifier in our room and they did not called again maintenance sprayed something but it didn’t fix the problem only made it worse by the end of the trip I’ve had to see a doctor due to my respiratory reaction literally couldn’t breathe and my thoAt was on fire the entire trip, I honestly think if you book thru Expedia they give these people the worst rooms they have to offer because last few bookings have been terrible rooms…

***Note: this vacation was to celebrate our recent engagement and my birthday and the Grand Sirenis portion ruined that for us***

Day 1:
-safe not working, asked for someone to come up and fix it, person came, said they couldn’t fix it and just left, no resolution, no working safe for passports and cash
-discovered feces on white top blanket - ???
-asked for a new blanket & additional hangers to hang clothes, never got them…..

Day 2: clogged bathroom sink with black scaly debris coming out signifying uncleanliness and not much maintenance/cleaning from cleaners
-flood in our bathroom all over the floor when we came back from the beach that day
-utilized all of the hotels towels & house coats to clean up that mess, notified front desk and asked for more towels & a new blanket once again, were ignored….

Day 3: next day, asked for blankets, hangers, and towels again, told staff that I wanted to know a timeframe since nothing came before, was told no timeframe can be given, said I would call back in 20 minutes if not there then and would continue calling until we received what we should have., they also had zero concerns about the flood
-called back after 30 min, as nothing came of course, asked to speak to Manager, got transferred to Manager line and it just rang and rang and rang, no answer from Manager

Food is bad. There are 8 restaurants, but it was very difficult to book the right time. However when you walk to the restaurant, half of the restaurant is empty. It is a lot of insect around the room, many mosquito keep fly in the o the room. Most of the bathrooms in the hotel is not clean at all. Very bad experience in this trip

The overall experience is that this hotel is in dire need of renovations from head to toe. The bed sheets were stained from our arrival to our departure. The toilet wouldn't flush properly from our arrival...& I had to call several times for them come & fix it, other than this issue the rest of the staff was courteous & prompt to help with your needs.

We stayed at Grand Sirenis Punta Cana with our family and while there were a few highlights, overall it fell short. The large shallow pool was great for kids and felt much safer than the deeper pools. The hibachi restaurant was excellent—the food and experience were a standout.

However, food availability was a major issue. Buffets were often not refilled, with empty containers and long lines for basics like burgers. With kids, this made mealtimes frustrating. We also couldn’t get dinner reservations before 9:30 PM, which didn’t work for our family, so we were stuck at the buffet most nights.

We were surprised that standard guests don’t receive pool or beachside service, so we spent a lot of time waiting in long drink lines. Some staff (especially at the pizza buffet and food truck) were unfriendly when ordering for our family of six.

The smaller kiddie pools were dirty and hazy, and we never saw them being cleaned. The waterpark was separate from the resort and not as convenient as expected.

Rooms were clean but dated; our TV never worked and service requests were slow or unanswered.

Overall, we wouldn’t stay here again without major improvements.

This property is dated and in need of a make-over/renovations. The staff do the best they can with what they have to work with. The room key on our wrist bands is very convenient. With the many March Break vacationers they ran out of beach/pool towels during the day and the food became scarce at the buffets/bbq if you did not get there at opening. There were gaps of time where there was not food available so plan accordingly. The waterpark was fun - though it did not look like the pictures online and a couple were under construction. The tennis and basketball courts were spacious and in great shape. Our son loved the basketball courts. The beach was clean. Not too many huts on the beach so go early to secure a good spot. This was a one and done for us and a 3 star at best.

This was one of the best experiences we had in the Caribbean. The hotel was great, we got upgraded to a suite and it was amazing- right by the pool. The room was clean, right temperature and didn’t smell of any mold or dew or other stuff we would normally see in beach resorts.
The pool was amazing with excellent service to bars and pizza. The kids enjoyed playing and adults enjoyed lounging and munching. The music and entertainment were just right.
The staff were great no matter where we were. Special kudos to the restaurant crew at the buffets and also the private restaurants for accommodating and being super friendly. They would also come and love on the kids! So sweet.

Everyone was smiling and welcoming us, it felt great. It made me wonder why we went to Mexico 9 times and never came here before.

The hotel is just amazing. Oh and I should mention the water park that’s wonderful for kids and grownups alike.

If anyone is thinking where to fly next or have a vacation- it’s Punta Cana Grand Sirenis! 10/10 review!

The place is over 25 yrs old, although they did get a refresh in 2019, you can still see it’s worn down in many areas of the resort to include room, pool, restaurants, and buffets. Overall it’s a pretty nice resort, but be CAREFUL to rely on the concierge or staff to help with your reservations. Make sure YOU reserve everything ahead of time, i.e. dinners, spa massages, activities, etc. and get a confirmation#. Someone may reach out to you one week before your trip and sound helpful but DO NOT fall for it, like we did. We trusted our service manager, Victor Rosario who reached out, as he said he was taking care of every little detail for us, especially since we mentioned to him that we were celebrating our 20yr wedding anniversary. He never did “take care” of anything for us and as a result we were inconvenienced, and sadly left very disappointed. Even after explaining our issues with guest services and the receptionist, they did nothing to help us with the situation, nor offer anything to us for being inconvenienced. At the very least they could have given us a discount on the massages we paid for. Overall, nice Island, warm people, and we hope to return someday to the D.R.

I stayed at this resort with my three teenage daughters. Overall, we had a great vacation together. The pools are beautiful with lots of room to enjoy either music/activity or quiet. The pool area that is shallow enough to stand in was very busy with kids. Do not plan at sitting at the swim up bar, it’s right in that area! There are plenty of nice quiet places to relax in the pool, but it’s deep water in most of the pools (which we loved). I recommend bringing some cheap floaties with you to enjoy the quieter areas. The beach is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of chairs for everybody. It was even pretty easy to find some shade when we wanted it.

My main complaint about this resort is the food. We were not impressed with any of the restaurants that you need to make reservations for. The food truck in front of the lobby and the coffee shop easily have the best food on the resort.

I highly recommend you do NOT book an activity with the water sports people you will see at the resort. They are pushy and constantly around. We did the half day glass bottom boat snorkel trip. What a mistake. Spent about 30 minutes snorkeling over some dead coral where other boats were already anchored. It was basically a guy taking an irritating number of photos so he could try to sell them for $200 at the end of the trip. He was very rude when I didn’t want to buy them.

I will not be returning, but this could be a nice resort with younger kids who aren’t interested in good food anyway.

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Sirenis. Although the resort was a little bit of a drive from the airport, it was worth it due to the beach, pool and grounds. Loved the access to drinks and food throughout our stay. Most bartenders were friendly and helpful. Food at buffets were good but nothing special. Did al a carte dinning for dinners. Some were better than others. Japanese and French restaurants were standouts. Concierges were ok but didn’t like that they pushed you to listen to sales pitch on buying into timeshare. Although not too pushy, didn’t think it was necessary to have sales people walking around at the beach trying to sell excursions. They seemed to have been approved by the resort, but hotel security could do a better job keeping unofficial sales people off the beach trying to get u to take pictures or sell jewelry. Shows at the amphitheater were good and liked the live music by the pool at late afternoon. Great value for the money. We would return.

The property had many maintenance issues that are not being addressed. We had a suite with 2 rooms separated by a sliding door. The AC worked in one room but not the other so we had to leave the door open the whole time in order to keep both rooms cool which defeated the purpose of paying extra money for the two rooms. We called about it several times and it was never fixed.

The pools are either ankle deep or over your head so bring a floaty if you plan on staying in the pool area, but don’t expect to be served a drink anytime soon. There is only one swim up bar for a five pool area and it is staffed by one bartender who won’t serve you if you can’t give your order in Spanish. Minors (under 18) are designated by wearing red wristbands. The bartenders did not check wristbands before serving anyone and often served minors.

The staff members are extremely rude if you do not speak Spanish. This resort does not accommodate travelers well who don’t speak Spanish.

The gift shop is way over priced and everyone tries to over charge you for anything that you purchase if you are using US currency.

The food was a big hit and miss on the resort. I would say about 50/50 on of it was good or not. For the amount of money we pad to stay at this resort it was NOT worth the money we spent. However the Dominican is a beautiful country and we did 3 different excursions which were absolutely amazing! The resort however was not good and we won’t be staying at this resort again in the future.

I would never recommend this property to anyone .Rooms have mold ,smells so bad when you just walked in ,of course you get use to the scent after a while food is horrible, some of the staff are so racist and to make it worse the day before I leave a house keeper was cleaning my room I caught her with my bag in her hand when I checked my purse 70 was missing so my advice to anyone going there keep your money are valuables close.

Terrible Week. Booked two rooms for my family and asked to have them next to each other, but the rooms weren't even in the same building. First night found cockroach in my room. Reported it and nothing was done so I trapped it under an overturned garbage can. Second night took a shower and the drain didn't work...water throughout the floor of the entire room. Reported both issues and they sent exterminators with respirators to spray poison. I told them I didn't want to sleep in a room with my kid that has poison but they didn't want to give me another room. I had to complain to three different people before I got a new room. Some slides at the water park were closed and never opened for the whole week. They stopped providing rides to the water park from the hotel so my kids and I had to walk it. Food was not great. My daughter was very ill from an undercooked hamburger served at the beach. Toilet in new room stopped working. They tried selling me on a VIP experience the next time I stay there...when I explained why I will never go back to that hotel the guy simply said, \"Oh, okay, bye\". Not once did any representative try to make things right. They truly don't care about the guest experience.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. As a Black guest, I consistently felt that white guests were treated better. Making restaurant reservations was unnecessarily difficult, and even when seated, I was often served last or passed over entirely. The only restaurant where I received decent treatment was the Italian one.

The food overall was poor, the customer service was terrible, and the rooms had a strong musty smell. The only enjoyable parts of the trip were the excursions outside the hotel.

The most concerning incident happened the day before I left: I saw the housekeeper assigned to my room holding my bank pouch, and afterward I discovered money missing. She appeared startled when she saw me, and before I could ask her name, she quickly left and sent another housekeeper to retrieve her cart.

I would not recommend this hotel, especially to Black travelers, based on my experience.

Beautiful grounds, very well mantained. BUT, rooms inside are dirty, garbage under beds, hair in the corners, mold on the walls and ceiling, vents apparently never cleaned. Plates (especially in the buffet) dirty, you can see it and feel dirt to the touch. Not enough spoons for different dishes, and almost no tabs with dish descriptions, or tabs with no names. So food was constantly cross-contaminated (meat with fish and vegetarian dishes). Not good resort for vegetarians. Restaurant floors looked like they were never moped. Some staff members had attitude, especially when we said that we'll feel out survey about the stay later, the guy gave us face like \"what's wrong with you\", or the woman who was rude pushing us out to check out when our stuff was locked in the room despite the fact that we paid extra to extend the check out time.

The beach was amazing. Staff was friendly. Everything is within a close walk. Lots of food options around the pool. There are bars everywhere. Wilkins was the best bartender, in our opinion. Lots of great entertainment throughout the day. They accommodated a late check out, even at near max capacity.
Our only complaint was the housekeeping. There were a couple of days that they didn’t come at all. We had to request toilet paper and Kleenex. The days that they did come, we had to request face cloths and a bath mat. They would take them and not replace. Minor issues in the grand scheme of things. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

We had a TERRIBLE experience at this hotel. Out of everything that went wrong, the AC was the biggest. We called over 15 times, and I was told “they are on the way in my 5 minutes” they never went. Everything was dirty and also maintenance of the whole resort is terrible. Very poor food quality and variety on day four we didn’t know what to eat. Nothing is cooked fresh they make just a whole lot of food on the grill and stack it on a plate resulting in everything being cold and dry. Service is was bad overall. Out of four pools only 1 can be enjoyed the rest are over 7 feet deep and the nicest one is only for members. I would never go back to a Sirenis hotel based on that TERRIBLE experience we had at this hotel. I could keep going however the only good thing at this hotel was the beach it was okay.

We traveled with small kids (5 and 2) and everyone enjoyed themselves. The beach is a bit narrow and the sunbeds are all gone by 9 am, but the kids enjoyed the sand and the warm water. The animator team was very active doing face painting, zumba, pool games, even a live concert. Very delicious food, fresh ripe fruits served at all hours of the day. Maybe it was the time (end of December) when we went, but the hotel wasn't quite prepared for the number of visitors. They ran out of towels, beach towels, cutlery, ice cream, plates, everything that could possibly run out. The staff was also a bit cold if you didn't approach them with tips. And cleanliness could be improved. Our room was on the ground floor, which was good with the stroller, but less fortunate in terms of the bugs entering. The room smelled quite a bit and was dirty when we arrived. After the first day the cleaner did a great job. The pool was quite dirty the day we arrived, there was trash floating in it and with the swim up bar, there were drunken people in it. Most of the pool is quite deep so not suitable for small children. The water park is a disaster. The pools have very abrasive coating, even the baby pool and the water is very cold. No kid under 8 can use the water slides. And none of the pools in the water park have sloped entry, not even the baby pool. Grand Sirenis Punta Cana has many activities for everyone, disco every night, a la carte restaurants with dress code, buffet, bars.

Resort is overall clean and well maintained beach & pool. Room we had was for 4 people and food & drinks included. The buffet & restaurants have good number of options but very low vegetarian or vegan options. Staff is courteous but they have too many people to ask you about things and less people to actually get the job done.
We had issues with our toilet flush tank which was working intermittently. The bathroom roof also started leaking water by the 3rd day.
There was also a lot of push to buy the Ultimate Leisure Club (ULC) membership as well. Took 4hrs to pitch the benefits of different levels of membership costing 20k, 30k & 40k USD which already has a not great reputation (please do your online research). Entire pitch was verbal with no concrete contract/guarantee. Hence we did not buy.
Overall good resort for a few days getaway and stay away from the membership.

The room was leaking from the second floor when we git there , the did not clean our room for 3 days while we called and called few times every day and the answer was always we will send someone to clean and they never did , the room was a little to small for 5 with one bathroom and the fan not working in the bathroom , we went out on a outside jurney package that they sell and we came back right on the dot 3pm where the buffet for the food was closing at 3 and they still refused to let us in , the manager came and basically told us to go away , not to mention to a drink at the bar even tho that did tip for every drink it was still horrible to wait
So yes i would never come back here again nor recommend it

Our experience was disappointing and below expectations.

From arrival, we did not feel welcomed. There was no clear guidance for check-in and we were redirected between multiple counters because we booked through Expedia. The process felt inefficient and disorganized. After registering in the morning, we had to return after 3 PM to ask for our room, and due to internal coordination issues, we didn’t receive our keys until after 3:50pm. The lack of communication was frustrating.

Restaurant reservations also confusing. We were sent between our assigned manager, concierge, and lobby desk. The concierge later told us restaurants were fully booked, but we discovered reservations could be made online and time slots were still available. This option was never mentioned.

Food variety was acceptable, but I experienced stomach issues starting the second day, raising hygiene concerns.

Entertainment was limited. The advertised “game station” was under construction, the basketball court was closed, volleyball equipment unavailable.

Our room felt outdated and cramped. The TV was broken on arrival and fixed the next day. Housekeeping was disappointing — bath mats gradually disappeared, and hand towels were never replaced during six nights.

The membership presentation was intrusive. We received an 8 AM call while I was unwell, and what was promised as 90 minutes lasted nearly 3 hrs.
Overall, poor communication, weak organization, and lack of service warmth made this stay disappointing.

did not get the room I requested on my reservation. I had to switch rooms, bathroom room celling was leaking- it took them almost 3 hours to come and fix it. I had to take a shower in a friend room. once it was they never fixed the light backs so I had only 2 light blub working. the food was not fresh. I asked for a mocktail for the kids and was told no only soda, while i see other kids had mocktails. bugs were found on the floors. shower towels only 2 was given, when i asked for more it it took almost 2 hours to get more. the only good lunch we had was a lobster lunch! most of the staff at the buffet did not attend to us unless we put a tip at the table!

So the staff in general is very disorganized, nobody knows nothing, if you ask they will give you zero information, not mention that more then half of the staff doesn't speak English such is fine, I have a good Spanish, but then when I tried to speak in Spanish they try to talk as fast as they can so you get very confused.
They are not very clean, the reusable cups most of the times were dirty. The food didn't have anything cough my eyes (and I'm not a pick eater). Other thing very annoying they offer you stuff everyday for you to buy, either massage, tours, special dinners, I just wanted to rest! If I wanted something I would ask a Staff, just leave people alone!
Our room was always very clean, the lady who cleaned did a very good job, and she was one of the few very nice people that I talked to.
The hotel in general is absolutely HUGE! I wish they had golf car for everyone that is not a member lol
I'd not stay there again, actually I don't think this is a country I would go back anytime soon.
The nature is breath taken, we went in tour, but the culture/people doesn't help. They are very late, the traffic is terrible, I met many cranky people there.
I hope if you are looking this review, its worth to try, maybe your experience will be better then mine.

I booked this stay clearly selecting 2 adults and 1 child (9 years old). However, upon arrival, the hotel claimed their system showed 1 infant instead of 1 child and demanded an additional charge of nearly $700.

I spent almost two hours explaining that I had correctly entered my child’s age during the booking process. During this time, my child was exhausted, hungry, and crying beside me after a long trip. Under that pressure, I had no choice but to pay the extra charge in order to check in.

Later, I received written confirmation from the booking platform clearly stating that my reservation was for 1 child, not an infant. I presented this confirmation to the hotel, but they simply ignored it and took no responsibility for the system error.

This experience was extremely frustrating and stressful. Guests should not be forced to pay significant additional fees due to technical discrepancies between systems, especially after providing clear proof. I hope management seriously reviews this issue to prevent other families from going through the same ordeal.

The room was great. Staff was very helpful. Kyle helped us during our stay to schedule dinners and a romantic dinner. He went above and beyond for us. We celebrated our honeymoon here and couldn’t be happier

The first room that we got had a bad lock which made us to walk back and forth 3 times inside the resort. We lost almost 2 hours on that. Then I asked them to fix it and give us the key to the beach.
It worked for a day. The washroom door l9ck wasn't working at all. I told them about our problem. But no one cared.
The next day after the dinner my family and kids were locked outside as the main door lock didn't work again. Had to go to the reception again and the employee laughed at our situation.
Superior came with a maintenance guy to fix the lock. They couldn't. They had to go through the next room to open our door from inside. At this point we had to request for another room as my family were not comfortable staying in there. We moved to another room at the middle of the night.
The food was ok. Pool was good. We are so disappointed at their customer service.
My family decided not to go back there again and not to recommend.

Rooms were nice, but very much needs ventilation in bathrooms.. mold starting in some areas of shower.
Public bathrooms around resort ran out of toilet paper a lot during the day.
Food was okay. Al la cartes were great, but buffets really need better labeling to help people with allergies! That said, food was good. Salt and pepper lacking, but you just need to ask a server for it.
Staff seemed grumpy sometimes. Not like other resorts where we’ve made friends.
I honestly would rate this a 3.

Hotel was fine. Some issues in the room, but nothing to fuss about. Food was ok but certainly not what we were looking forward to , especially in a 5 star resort. The restaurants were serving food same level as the buffet. Front desk made a stink about not returning the \"towel cards\" even though noone told us we would have to. As if we would steal the old beach towels lol Overall ok stay, but would not repeat. Bummer that DR is not safe to explore. Probably great if you love all inclusive.
