A great Babymoon resort! Everyone was so accommodating especially with the nonalcoholic drinks for me. Check in was a little delayed and we didn’t have cold water in our showers but overall the service was excellent and we will be returning after our baby is born

The poolside and beachside seating was limited. Pool bar in more private area. People pretty nice and generally provide good service and seem happy to be there. The room was \"tired\" and was musty. Needed a dehumidifier. TV and AC also went out that both required maintenance.

The whole place was immaculately cleaned and well kept, even the entire beach was raked clean every morning as I did my sunrise walk. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, so many got to know your name and went so much to make the vacation fabulous. Our first all-inclusive and the food was pretty good.

The name speaks for itself…. The resort is truly excellent. One of the very best all inclusives we have been to and that is saying a lot as we gone to many over the last 30 years. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they definitely made it special for us. We loved the layout of the resort, so much walkable space that was beautiful, and the botanical gardens were so nice to walk around every morning.

Very good place to disconnect and recharge. Staff is great!
Ocean: this is an Atlantic-facing coastline so the waters are almost never calm and lifeguards are not letting anyone to swim, which is a downside of this location.
Pools: all of them are shallow (slightly above waste level) which is rather boring, considering that swimming in the ocean is practically not an option.

There were not enough lounge chairs available at the pool or the beach (people were reserving them at 7am, and none were available by 9am). The wait to get into a restaurant for dinner was 45 minutes to over one hour (not acceptable). The air conditioner in the room was not able to keep the room a comfortable temperature.

Aside from the arrival, this resort is all we could ask for. There are two resorts named excellence about 15 minutes apart and we didn’t know we were at the wrong one until after our driver had left. I think the staff should not have been surprised and may have prevented the confusion at the gate. But the rest of the stay was incredible!

Was here two years ago and loved it. Came back to find no entertainment at the pool, the staff looked miserable, and a lot of downgraded items including food. The room smells like mildew. Overall I won’t come back now. Rumor has it they hired new management to cut costs…it shows. Definitely will find some place else next time.

Although there were events planned on the schedule, sometimes they don't happen and the staff doesn't seem to try to rally people to participate. Would have been better if they had more pool games (poker in the pool, bingo, etc)

Our stay was extremely disappointing and, more importantly, deeply concerning from a health and safety standpoint.

During lunch at the buffet restaurant, my wife found worms in the broccoli on her plate. We immediately reported it and showed it to the staff. Shockingly, the broccoli remained on the buffet even after we brought it to their attention. The F&B manager came later that day and apologized, but that was the extent of the response. No immediate corrective action was taken while we were there.

The overall hygiene at the buffet restaurant was questionable. The plates were often wet, had visible spots, and didn’t appear to be properly cleaned.

My wife has IBS and is also anemic, so food safety is critical for her. After this incident, she developed diarrhea and stomach cramps, and it caused significant anxiety for us for the rest of the trip. We were constantly worried about what was safe to eat. Because of her medical condition, she needs proper and hygienic meals, and after what happened, she barely felt comfortable eating at the resort.

Overall, the food was bland at every restaurant and far below what you would expect from a property that markets itself as luxury and all inclusive for adults. Some staff at certain restaurants were also rude and dismissive, which made the situation even more frustrating.

This trip was meant to be relaxing, but instead it became stressful and centered around health concerns. We cannot recommend this property to others.

Room could have been cleaned better, ie, dirty dishes weren't picked up for over 1 day. Items were knocked behind the nightstand more than once and not picked up (thought they were stolen initially). I had to request turn-down service, after finding out one of my friends received it automatically. Toiletries were not replaced for 2-3 days. Food was average.

The staff at this hotel is top notch. The grounds are well maintained and the rooms are immaculate. There is housekeeping offered twice a day, morning and evening. The turn down service at the end of the night was wonderful to come back to after dinner. Special mention to Nicholas @ Oregano and Vladimir @ The Grill went above and beyond in providing a great experience. This was our second time at this hotel and the experience and food never disappoint.

Beautiful place! Excellent staff! From the bellman to the housekeeper, the service was excellent. Special shout outs to Jesus at check in, Jesus the waiter, Darlene, Gabriel, Alexander, and Carolina at the spa, Miguel and Maria with entertainment, Basilio, Erika, and many many more bar tenders and wait staff…all were so hospitable it made our stay excellent! We loved the Michael Jackson/ Freddie Mercury show on Tuesday night. Maintenance was quick to respond to the couple issues we had. Only complaints we had: Our mini bar fridge didn’t cool well, which was disappointing. And the main hot tub didn’t get very hot. No fun on a cloudy day.

Where do I begin…from the moment I was greeted with champagne to Jesus who checked me in at the front desk (outstanding) and made sure that everything was to my satisfaction every time he saw me…although the food wasn’t 5 star it was good and very good at some of the places. Yoel who was the manager at Magna and the Grille took great care of me as well as all the wait staff. Gregory was the best though and took great care of me at Casa Isabelle and at breakfast. He made me feel like a queen. Cherelyn aka Honey is the best entertainment organizer (and a friend) and amazing at her job and at getting the crowd going. Eduardo (Panda), I will miss you as well. Maria, you took such great care of my room and went beyond what any housekeeper has done in any hotel I’ve stayed at. Thank you sooooo much. Juan and my girl who brought me coconut waters and skinny margaritas all day, thank you so very much. I know I am forgetting some people but I can’t mention everyone. This place was 5 star for sure. Oh and the girl who made my ice coffee every day and didn’t need me to tell her after day one what I wanted, thank you to you. Coffee is very important!!! I will be back for sure!!!

The hotel conditions were unsafe, unsanitary, and materially different from what was advertised:

• The room had open patio doors with no screen, allowing animals to enter freely.
• I woke up to a cat on top of me in my bed. I have a known allergy to cats and suffered allergic reactions and skin breakouts as a result.
• The pool area was unsafe, with excessively deep water and no warning signs or depth markers, posing a drowning risk.
• The food quality was extremely poor and unsanitary, making it unfit to consume.

These conditions created a health and safety hazard, and the property failed to provide habitable accommodations as advertised. Due to these issues, the stay was not usable as paid for.

Beautiful spread out resort with several pools and a long walking beach . The rooms were always clean, the staff was friendly and treated us well, there were fun excursions , the food and drinks were yummy, the night programs were fun. It was a wonderful vacation and resort . If you like calm flat water , however , this is not the beach for you. The waves are fun to play in and their sound was always a perfect presence .

I would love to tell you all about this stay that I had at excellence that I can’t even call a holiday.
But I’m too busy arguing back-and-forth with leadership at the Excellence now.
Very disappointed…. With everything!
Their food their menu the consistency the small small portions of everything served to you. What a rip off. I’ve been to this particular chain hotel before and can’t believe what a disappointment and difference this is.
Speaking to others on the resort that have become multiple times they’ve said that in the last few months things have really gone downhill!
I would not recommend this to my worst enemy.
I’ll be writing another review and multiple another social medias !! stay tuned!

Room temperature, humidity and spotless… food as advertised was pretty good and an unexpected treat was an excellent wine list, I particularly enjoyed Spanish wines from Ribera del Duero … service friendly and willing to fulfill your requests, which is rare. The chef at the French restaurant, prepare a coconut rice for me outside the menu options. Lovely place, a bit far from everything but for me was perfect!

I’ve stayed at the property once before so was not expecting such a disappointment. I booked the excellence club and upon checking in. Separated from my party and sent to regular check in. While sitting and waiting not understanding why we were denied VIP check in. 30 minutes later I am called up to the front desk and explained that I booked the excellence club. Upon looking into my reservation I am told yes you are in the excellence club. Already upset and off to a bad start they send me to the VIP check in where I waited another half hour while the party I came with was already at the bar waiting . In the end the hotel was overbooked and I was put in a regular room with excellence club privileges. Oh they did change the soaps in the room. Still a huge disappointment. Expedia needs to be more accountable for the reservation process.

Reservations via Expedia was extremely unprofessional. Left us stranded at PC Airport on Xmas eve.(prepaid for 11 mos). Had to find our own way. We had booked 3 rooms for a family Xmas and tried to be located together. It was booked 11 mos in advance but nobody would commit at Expedia. Calls and emails to hotel directly for 11 mos went unanswered. Upon checkin we were told no go!.

Hotel workers were extremely hard working with a smile. Management not to interested. This was our 3rd trip to excellence PC. And 5th trip in total to Excellence . No hot water for a shower early or late for almost every day. Nothing addressed.

Food was ok , but well below the standard previously experienced, especially in other excellences

Beach was top notch as per usual. Beach service was spotty and inconsistent.

This use to be our favourite? We will take a break from Excellence going forward and will never book via Expedia again!

Unfortunately I found there was a design fail with the air conditioning in the rooms and it simply recirculated the damp air from the bathroom making the rooms damp and moldy, both my wife and I left the holiday with a chest infection, the hotel was informed and we were initially moved but the problem existed in the second room. We have been offered a “complimentary upgrade” but the T & C make this nearly impossible so I believe this to be a hollow gesture.

The food servings were small at best, I know it’s an all inclusive resort but we found we were ordering 2 main meals each to get a full plate of food, some may say this sounds glutinous but we are not excessive eaters

We have been doing family vacations for the last 5 years in the DR. This all inclusive resort was the best one by far we have been to, especially being part of the excellence club. The food is absolutely amazing at the restaurants. The staff is so nice. It was so calm and peaceful. Only comment I would say is about the housekeeping, it was not the cleanest. Other than that, everything else was excellent. We will definitely be back!
