The room had not been properly prepared and was clearly unclean, with roaches present in the room. Additionally, the receptionist was not at the desk upon my arrival, and I had to wait over 15 minutes before she returned to check me in. When she did arrive, I was rushed and informed that I only had about three minutes to inspect the room before additional charges would be applied due to the check-in time. Overall, the experience was very disappointing and did not meet basic expectations for cleanliness or customer service.

One of the worst places I’ve ever stayed… I’d have to say sleeping on rocks deployed to Iraq was more comfortable. This place had a TV though…. Had to request a remote control🤔. First room I was offered had an A/C unit that was crazy loud. Switched me to a “newly renovated room.” Maybe it was renovated 20 years ago. Likely a standard line vice apologizing for the poor room. First room looked cleaner and renovated. Just needed one night, i sucked it up!

We went in and looked around and left. The walls had like bullet holes in them with duck tape over the holes, there were no towels, the tub was filthy the place had an awful smell and there were roaches and spiders in the draws. NEVER AGAIN FOR ME!

Staff was nice but the facility it a complete dump! The elevator has been expired on its inspection over a year ago! Bugs running across the floor of bathroom. Toilet still had turds in it from last guest! Telling me it was not even cleaned from last guest! The countertop was rotten and had holes in it. The door would not close and lock on its own like it legally is supposed to! It was a good price but that’s it!!!! I would suggest spend a little more for a safe and clean facility, I learned my lesson about cheap that’s for sure!!!!!

This is the second worst hotel I've stayed in (the first had roaches). Booking ahead and being nonrefundable by the time I arrived I wish I had read the reviews. There is a stench that can only be attributed to the musk of dead rotting skin cells baked into the carpets and the room smelled like mold, we had to leave the window open. It is in disrepair, and unfortunately the repairs that are made are sloppy and bare minimum (ex. stick on tiles in the bathroom coming off the floor, thick mushed on caulking around the toilet, partical board shelf in the bathroom). My brother couldnt bring themselves to stay the second night due to the gurngieness. Unfortunately it would take a lot of money to renovate this place and bring it up to par, and I don't think they have the cash flow to do it right.

The pictures are a false advertisement and ended up leaving. They let you check the room before staying and I advise that you book elsewhere.

There is no kitchen at the hotel and I also spent $22 to do two loads of laundry. The dryers weren't getting hot enough to dry them well. Front desk staff does not stay overnight and they have a telephone number if there is a disturbance to call hotel security. Shady characters hanging out at the hotel and in the stairwells. Very noisy arguing and yelling throughout the night. Beds are extremely uncomfortable and the bed covering looks extremely old like it hadn't been washed in a long long time. Sheets also very scratchy and uncomfortable. Bed was noisy to get on and off of, as springs were broken in the mattress and you could feel them in certain areas of your back when you moved. The room we were in did not have a hair dryer nor an ironing board or iron. You must bring towels downstairs in a laundry basket for a laundry exchange. No maid service during the time we stayed there. Supposed to have been a non-smoking hotel but people were smoking and you could smell it. Even caught hotel security smoking in the hallway and putting his cigarettes out on the floor or down the elevator. No bucket in the room to get ice and no cups. Nowhere to buy or get a snack or a drink in this hotel and no kitchen. Smelt musty and old, reeked of cigarette smoke. Men constantly leaving their rooms and talking on their cell phones in the hallway and stairwell. Suspect some kind of illegal activity going on. Hotel is kind of hidden from the main road and light was out on sign at entrance. Yucky!

Booked a one night stay and will never book again. Now the staff was okay, no problems there. I stayed in room 424 and after about 1 hour I started seeing roaches in the room. The property was notified and gave me no help. I had to go to the store and get Raid. If you NEED to stay here, I get it. But if you can avoid it, don’t book here.

I stayed here for 2 months for work, they never came to clean the room in 2 months. Roaches here and there in the room. People actually live here and always fighting and screaming loud. Staff was great. Always answered any questions. Laundry room was great and convenient with their app, I don’t have to be checking on it. Smelled like marijuana a lot in the hallways. For work is ok.

Expedia should be ashamed of themselves for having such a property in their listing. The property is smelly and dirty. Upon arrival I was asked before checking in to look at the room first and let them know If I want to stay there. I am assuming a lot of people have seen the crappie condition of the hotel and never bothered to stay there and was not able to get their money back. Even though I did not stay their they are refusing to refund my money. This will be reported to BBB and i will be calling the health department to report them.

There wasn’t any housekeepers available, no pots & pans, no ice trays in freezer, one of the washer wasn’t working it took my money away but won’t start the machine.. And it said pet friendly and they want $200 deposit fee and $8.00 each night for my dog to stay in room with us.. And I have ESA letter to proof and that I do not need to pay for it.. Obviously there were lots if dogs there which I don’t believe people paid $200 fee and $8.00 each night.. This is ridiculous and crazy thing I have ever heard in my life.. No where else would charge $200 for the pets to stay.. We were not very pleased with that outcome and the way the two front desk ladies were rude and instantly for us to pay $200…

My recent stay at WoodSpring Suites Chesapeake-Norfolk South (Room #208) on July 4-5 was a disaster. Paying top dollar for a 4th of July weekend stay only added to my frustration. The hotel fell short in several areas:

- No working TV in the room upon check-in
- No iron or ironing board, forcing me to attend a family BBQ with wrinkled clothes
- Rusted and dusty bathroom vent
- Consistently dirty floors in the hallway and room
- A \"wet floor\" sign stuck in the elevator for the entire stay
- Unsecured WiFi putting my personal data at risk

When I spoke with the front desk about a refund, I was told nothing could be done due to the corporate offices being closed for the holiday. Given the hotel's numerous failures, I believe a full refund is justified. This stay was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had.

No refund policy once you check in, so if you have a problem with the rooms afterwards, then your Stuck. Room had no remote and of course they didn't have a spare one but again, i already checked in. Not sure why they DON'T have an Ice Machine and of course they didn't mention it considering it was over 95 degrees but again it was to late because I already checked in. One and Done!

Blown away they are called Woodspring Suites!!
I chose not to stay at this hotel.
One single very thin sheet was the only thing covering the mattress. There was hair in the sink of the kitchenette. The one chair in the space was peeling vinyl beyond belief. It looked like something that would be found on the side of the road.And caked up filth in corners. I wasn’t even there long enough to take pictures!

The only big issue I had staying here was housekeeping waking me up at 10am by banging on my door and trying to come in despite the door being locked, so she could “confirm that I was checking out today” even though I had already confirmed that with the front desk the day before. I was staying alone so it scared the mess out of me before I realized what was going on. Definitely could’ve went about that differently or at least waited until closer to checkout time.

Other than that the stay was fine, the front desk staff were nice and helpful. The rooms could use some updating but it’s a nice stay for the price.

Our experience at this hotel was absolutely dreadful. The room was dirty, and unbelievably, they had no key for the door, leaving it open before our arrival. After a 14-hour flight, we checked in at 11:20 PM, only to find the bathroom filthy. I had to request cleaning supplies to clean it myself because we were too exhausted to deal with the hassle of complaining or changing rooms.

The refrigerator was dirty, and the floors felt as if they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks—sticky and grimy to the touch. To make matters worse, an exit sign outside our room beeped all night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. The hallways were filthy and reeked of smoke.

This place is a health hazard and far below any acceptable standard. I would not recommend it under any circumstances—not even if it were free.

The employees are so nice- but the conditions of this place is awful. I stayed here as it was walking distance to a store visit i had to conduct. The place is super dirty. There was a roach in my room in the bathroom. It didn't feel clean. The hallways though in a non smoking room (which i felt is odd to even offer smoking rooms) the smell lingers. The lack of basic accommodations like water and cleanliness. If i didn't check in so late (10:30pm) and hadn't have a meeting at 8:30am down the road, i would've found someplace else to stay!

Combined cooking smells in hallways was at times disgusting and overwhelming.

The mattress protector was gross needed charging.

I suspect too many renters are on the government dole.

The room was adequate sleep and shower but could use a comfortable chair besides the single kitchen chair.

This was reported atat front desk a12:30pm when I returned to my room at 10:30pm I found my room door # 112 ajar with the lights on in the room. The was locked when I left and lights were turned off earlier when I left out for the day.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed five nights for $112 per night so my expectations were not high. We chose the property because of the location. There was no daily room cleaning, so fresh towels and such were available from the desk. The room was accessible with plenty of grab bars, however with only a tub and no roll-in shower. The property was nestled in the trees off the main road and was very quiet. The bed was comfortable however the pillows were lumpy and past their prime.

This hotel needs a renovation asap! My room condition was terrible. Whatever they used to clean the room made my dog sick. He threw up all night the first night. The second night he had diarrhea! I had to take him to the er vet.
I mistakenly thought it would be a nice hotel since the logo made it appear that way. I hated my stay!!!!

Just the Basics

This hotel has a bit of a YMCA or dorm vibe. Furnishings are very basic; you have to pay to get a kitchen kit, so bring your own if you can (coffee pot, utensils, plates, dish soap, pans.). You turn in your own laundry and there's a $25 charge for losing your plastic key. Maid service is weekly, I believe. Very basic, but the price and location are great. I am an elderly single woman and I felt safe there, even though it's a very busy place. Good bed, always hot water, lots of TV channels. Friendly staff. I'd stay there again.
