While they had alot of fun we didn’t feel as though this was luxury. We had heard from ppl who were there last year that the food was amazing but we did not have the same experience. The food was acceptable. We do not usually stay in all inclusives so we have a higher standard in regards to food but it will still disappointing.
Also there was no lazy river.
The adult pool was very nice, the kids club is fun and my son enjoyed the teens club as well. Overall was a good vacation but don’t expect amazing food.

In two words: Absolutely outstanding!
We were a large group (8 adults and 3 kids) and had a fantastic stay at SLS Playa Mujeres. The property is beautiful and impeccably maintained, with an elegant yet very convenient layout. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and easy to navigate.
The food deserves special recognition. We dined at five restaurants—Bungalow (thank you, Tony!), Fi’lia, Union, Cleo, and Caracol (thank you, Valentin and Fernando!). Every meal was excellent, with delicious cuisine and truly outstanding service. The breakfast buffet at Market is the best we’ve experienced at any resort—impressive variety and quality.
Other highlights include two well-equipped 24-hour gyms, a great coffee shop with pastries and poolside ice cream until 10 PM, and a separate smoothie spot. The kids’ pool is fantastic—full of fun and perfect for families. The bars are equally impressive, each with its own beautiful atmosphere and consistently excellent cocktails.
And I saved the best for last: the staff. From the Concierge Desk to the beach and pool servers, everyone goes out of their way to make your stay memorable.
A heartfelt thank you to Adriana Reygadas, Manager of Guest Services. When my son lost his phone, she personally reviewed hours of security footage, identified the transport van, contacted the company and driver, and had the phone back in our hands the next day. Her dedication went far beyond expectations.
Treat yourself and stay at SLS Playa Mujeres—you’ll love it.

Pros: Great customer service and excellent employees. Beautiful resort and it is well maintained. Great restaurants. Beautiful swim up bar. Resort did a very good job of keeping children out of adult only sections. Breakfast buffet was awesome for service and food selection/quality. Felt very secure at all times at the resort.

Cons: Very difficult to get restaurant reservations (no availability at any of the restaurants for 3 of the 7 evenings we were there). Poor internet service in room. Last two days couldn't get TV reception and room phone didn't work so couldn't contact the front desk via that method. Pool was too cold for several days of our stay so we couldn't use the beautiful swim up bar or pool. Hot tubs not hot either. No adult only table at the separately purchased beach BBQ (could purchase a separate small table for $40 USD!). Would be nice to have an adults only section at the breakfast/brunch buffet area.

We just spent a week at this amazing hotel with our baby, toddler, and family. The hotel is very family friendly but is well set up for couples and all ages. The staff were all so kind and accommodating. I had to wash my baby bottles everyday and they delivered extra water bottles whenever I needed them. They even offered to sterilize them for me. The fitness clubs and classes were amazing. The food was outanding at all the restaurants. I’ve never had food this good at an all inclusive. Every morning you were offered a sparkling wine at the breakfast buffet. We especially liked the lunch buffet that was set up by the beach everyday if we didn’t feel like heading to one of the restaurants to do lunch. They had lots of taco options there and seating on the sand under the shade of the trees.
The beach is beautiful white soft sand and the water was crystal clear.
We also upgraded to cabanas at the family pool and had everything catered all day.
We didn’t spring for the Elite membership and don’t think we missed out on much there.
Our swim up rooms were cozy and clean. The outdoor pool from our room is not heated but we dipped our feet in and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
We also had a massage at the Ciel Spa on the resort. This was one of the best and most relaxing massages I’ve ever had. Shout out to Liz who was my masseuse. If we hadn’t travelled with kids I would have went back to the spa for more treatments.
We hope to come back to this hotel one day. It’s a true 5 star.

All events should be till 10 pm but some of them lasted till 1030 and no reaction or even apology from staff.

The resort is beautiful & the staff exceed all expectations. We stayed Mon- Thrs so the resort may have been less busy than usual. The Elite status does not seem to be worthwhile. The staff are equally attentive to all guests. One small disappointment was I was told before we checked in that they would do “something special” for our anniversary. But, nothing happened even though they confirm “a special surprise” at check in. Not necessarily a deal breaker but just goes to show a lack of follow through. Otherwise, I could not think of anything negative to say.

Do not book this resort if you are expecting a five-star or VIP experience.

Pools are not heated, which made them unusable during colder weather, including the swim-up room we paid extra for. The jacuzzis were barely warm and not enjoyable.

Service was extremely inconsistent, with long waits at restaurants and little acknowledgment from staff. This is also NOT a couples-friendly resort. It is heavily focused on families, with very limited adults-only areas. The room walls are paper thin, and hallway noise from children running, yelling, and crying starts early in the morning. Even the “romantic” wine cellar dinner was loud, crowded with families, and far from intimate.

We are Expedia Gold members and specifically chose this hotel because it is listed as a VIP property. No upgrade was offered despite room availability, and the only VIP benefit was a 20% spa discount. Other VIP hotels typically provide welcome amenities or personalized recognition, which was completely missing here.

The property looks beautiful in photos, but the service, comfort, and overall experience do not match five-star or VIP expectations. Travelers looking for luxury, relaxation, or a romantic stay should strongly consider other options.

First night the view was horrible. They put us in a horrible room because they make less money when you book through expedia. We complained because our ocean view was literally totally blocked by buildings. I travel a lot and see this happening more and more by using expedia you get the bad room.
I complained and they gave us a free upgrade for the remaining two nights

We were so excited for an all inclusive experience with SLS but this property fell short on so many levels. The food and beverage selection and execution was terrible. Several of our meals came out unseasoned, undercooked or overcooked and just inedible. Many things were not included in the “all inclusive” even though we had the top tier package. We paid extra for coconut water by the pool, sake with our Asian dinner and only one wine was available without an up charge at most restaurants. To top it off, the first night we were there, there was a “comedian” as entertainment for the guests. The “comedian” was a Trump impersonator that spewed hateful, racist, discriminatory “jokes” for over an hour. It was appalling that an SLS property would allow this. Regardless of beliefs, a hotel resort is not an appropriate venue for what seems like a comedic take on a politically rally. We were so unhappy with our experience we left early.
A couple of positives warranting 2 stars: The property itself is beautiful and well kept. The staff was very kind and hardworking.
Overall, this is absolutely not a 5 star resort and doesn’t even come close to comparing to the experience at other SLS properties. They need a few years to get it together and learn how to operate as an all inclusive. 0/10 would not recommend.

Most of the staff was great, the food was absolutely excellent although the Italian restaurant was my least favorite, the facility was very nice. It was very relaxing and I enjoyed myself. However, there was not much to do on some nights. There’s no club or casino so I would say this resort is more about relaxation plus there’s lots of kids. Around the fourth night we did become bored, but it was OK because we were there for relaxation overall I enjoyed myself.

⭐️ 0/5 – Safety Failures and No Accountability

We booked SLS Playa Mujeres through Expedia and paid extra for an SLS Elite room, expecting a five-star experience. Instead, our short long-weekend stay was ruined by repeated safety failures, severe understaffing, and lack of accountability.

Our son has a tree-nut allergy, communicated in advance. Despite this, he was served Nutella chocolates, a dish with pine nuts, and after raising the issue, nuts again for a third time — any could have caused a medical emergency.

The resort was understaffed, especially at breakfast and pools/beaches. Elite seating was unavailable, breakfast was slow, our room wasn’t ready on arrival, and no welcome drink was offered.

We asked to speak with the hotel manager, which never happened. An assistant manager on WhatsApp also never responded. The only goodwill offered was a late checkout and a pool cabana, far below what was needed.

Based on our experience, SLS Playa Mujeres is not safe for families with allergies and does not deliver an Elite, five-star experience.

This was a wonderdful relaxing resort located about 45 minutes north of Cancun. Overall we had a great time the week we stayed at this resort. This resort is very lowkey. There is very little daytime entertainment available at this resort. The resort seems to be unintentionally split half into a family section, and half into an adult only section. Any dinner activities are reservation only so that is good to know going into your stay. We wish they had more midday entertainment available on the adults only side and across the resort overall.

We recently had a magical family stay at the SLS Cancun All-Inclusive Resort, and it was fantastic. Traveling with my wife, our toddler, and our baby, we were looking for a place that offered luxury but was also family-friendly. From the moment we arrived, the resort felt like a palace—pristine, exclusive, and truly opulent.

We stayed in a higher-end ocean view room with about 800 square feet, two balconies—one with a jacuzzi—and stunning views of the ocean and marina. It was a bit of a walk from the elevator, but that meant more privacy. The resort really shines for families—there’s a kids’ club, kiddie pool, and plenty of children’s activities. Our toddler loved it, and we felt completely at ease.

Dining was excellent with a variety of restaurants and outstanding service. Even though we didn’t dive into the adult-only amenities this time, we know there’s a luxurious spa and a nanny service if we come back. Overall, it’s a place we’d happily return to for both family fun and a little luxury.

I do not recommend this place. They do not have enough beach chairs or umbrellas and the ones they do are broken. I also don’t feel that this place is safe. I had an incident with a guest that accosted me, but when they found a report, they made him sign a warning instead of removing him after he signed the warning I was told that he would not if there were another fraction he would be removed. He was not removed instead it’s allowed to run free and then again cost it now my family and they did not deal with the incident.

Positives - Room was of a good design and clean. The first day, the room floor collected a lot of moisture, but the rest of the stay was moisture-free. Kids club was good with many activities including Cinema. Water park and pools were very nice, some were warm pools. Room Service was very good and timely. Spa massages were very good. Staff was generally good. Check-in process was excellent and they gave the room pretty early.
Negatives - The butler service is overrated. Butler did not give full information at the start of the stay and left us to discover all the 'all-inclusive' services ourselves giving the feeling that they wanted us to lose valuable resort time and ultimately not use some of these services at all. Our butler botched a dinner reservation and we ended up getting room service. He also failed to inform us about the included Hydrotherapy for our Elite stay and we ended up buying a massage that included Hydrotherapy. Though the beach was long, it was not very broad, and Sargassum collected in large quantities. The Staff at The Market restaurant did not let us in for dinner buffet even though there was 45 minutes left until closing time.

Overall, the resort and staff were excellent. The variety of activities, food, and ability to just relax if necessary are all a reality at the resort. The hotel is good, clean, and the staff were also great, but the management really did not help we booked the room paid extra for the ocean view, but what we got was buildings in front and trees and only a little portion was visible from the balcony. We complained to the management and they said that they were full and they cannot do anything and did not offer much of us credit to compensate the payment that we did for the room.
Has worked in hospitality industry. I think the management could've done a better job at taking care of us and making sure that what was advertised on their website and on Expedia and what we paid extra for we should've gotten, but that didn't happen. And from the looks, the hotel wasn't really as busy as they had claimed it to be.

All and all the food was OK in some restaurants, but the desserts were amazing. If you are going there, be careful of the steps, too many uneven surfaces, and too many steps that seem hidden.

Buffet was closed for dinner 3 out of the 5 nights we stayed. And breakfast buffet was the same everyday. Chair was broken at one of the resturants and my wife fell luckly no major injuires. Was told we will have a hibachi table at one of the restaurants ended up being normal. Also we were the first table at the resturanr and got our food last.In room dining options are few. Wouldnt recommended going here with a family or a little one as the adults only area/pool is massive comapred to kids and family pools. Looks wise resort is nice but lacking in all other areas wouldnt recommend going for the price you pay

I can tell that this hotel/resort is understaffed given how not all their restaurants are open daily and I see the same workers in different restaurants. Restaurants also refused to give me walk-in option 1 hour before closing because they said they're \"full for the night\" so I had to spend a night starving myself. The beach staff did not assist me with opening a beach umbrella when I explicitly asked for help since I did not figure it out myself. I've had numerous instances where I had to follow up on my food after waiting > 20min. in restaurants because they forgot to check on my food status. I can see that staff prioritize families with children as I came with just me and my fiancée. It's also surprising how empty it feels when everything is closed by 9/10pm. Compared to my stay at another hotel/resort on the Cancún hotel zone, this one was very underwhelming. I was only here for a wedding site visit, but I can confirm that I will not be staying here for my wedding or next vacation in general.

Came to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Kids were everywhere. Which wasn’t a major problem, but unexpected. The food was great at the pool, but the service was absolute trash. Staff don’t greet you — it’s like they hate to be there. The service is inconsistent. For an all inclusive resort and a promise to do something special for my wife when we got to the room only to not follow through for any of the days we were there, and met with irritation when I asked pretty much sums up my experience. Honestly, when we drove in, there was barely any security..I overlooked that, but it was truly trash. The. The hibachi…abysmal. Overcooked, cringe, and unappetizing. Breakfast was okay. Twiggy’s has good food. The spa was nice! But again, service and hospitality is spotty. I recommend they connect with The Handy consultant to reform their overall approach. I’ve seen them so amazing work with the worst places. Truly, I’ll NEVER be back and will NEVER recommend them.

While the hotel buildings, layout and rooms were very nice yet many of us had reservations such as
- check in took around one hour
-on the cleanliness ( there was still sand in the room after they cleaned it) ,
- some staff were not very welcoming or friendly,
- service (room service took around half an hour for 2 cups of American coffee),
- thought it was an all inclusive hotel yet we had hard time in “booking” in restaurants to eat noting that kitchens closed around 10!

In general, I consider that it was way over priced for the service provided!

Room : not family-friendly. The glass divider between the bathroom and the bedroom is completely see through, even when pulling down the lucid shade. Not family friendly and offers zero privacy. Very inconvenient when you have children.

Restaurants - they don’t offer kids menus. Each place had 2 options so my daughter ate the same thing every day. Also, the kids bar, Baraccuda, was closed during our stay

Kids club - we couldn’t participate because every time we went to visit, it was closed. Weird to me that that they would be closed from 11am-2pm. Inconvenient.

Beach - there was a ton of poop along the entire beach. I have video and photos to prove it. It’s the resort’s responsibility to clean it. Disgusting and it ruined our trip.

I will not be returning to this resort.

Overall our stay was very relaxing and just the refresh we needed. This was a family vacation with my husband and my 3 1/2 year old son. My son was too young for kids club and travel with a toddler can be challenging but the amenities, restaurants and services made it the most relaxing trip we’ve had in years.

Pools and beach were great and loved that we got drinks service on the beach and food/drinks service at the pool. The pools are intricate with lots of entertainment and space for kids of all ages and swimming levels.

The service was good, but be sure to tip make sure your service maintains good. We forgot to pull some cash out for tips and noticed a decline in service, then after we pulled out cash and tipped service increased.

Everyone raved about the food, I’d probably give it a 7 out of 10 very solid for an all inclusive but I had hoped it would be a little better based on reviews. Whilst I found the Mediterranean, the steak house and the special event food amazing I found breakfast okay and the Mexican very disappointing. Breakfast and at the market has tons of options some are better than others, definitely options for everyone. Room service is good, very convenient and helpful with the a toddlers unpredictability. Loved the juice bar for smoothies!

Rooms were very clean and great space, we had an ocean view and it was lovely!! Our balcony was big! The only con was sound proofing was not the best. Could hear people running in the halls and room above moving.

Beautiful hotel obviously new BUT foods are not available all time specially after 10 PM. You can find the food if you find the food it taste very good but literally very bad. Customer service the people at the reception. They’re not helpful at all Bar more problem with keep up inventories in place try to get drinks LSA out of stock. You have to wait for 15 minutes then you wait for two hours. No drinks was bad experience with service such a big problem with beautiful hotel but bad management.

I am so disappointed in SLS. I went with very high expectations that unfortunately were not met. The service was so bad. We were served with frowns . No smiles . No Greetings. We had to ask 3-4 times just for a cup of coffee in the morning . Even after tipping generously we were treated poorly. The only shout out I have to give is for Danny at adult pool and Jorge at the rooftop bar! These 2 were amazing . The rest of the staff needs to learn how to be nice to people that pay so much . There were no activities during the day. Way too many kids running around. There is no adult side to the hotel so we’re we’re awakened every night to crying babies and kids running around on the top floor. Honestly I have been to way nicer resorts for less the money . Management needs to step up !!!!!

We recently returned home from a week's stay at SLS Playa Mujeres, and it truly was an exceptional experience. The resort is absolutely beautiful and meticulously maintained. The restaurants and quality of food were outstanding.

We booked a King Elite room with a Marina View. The room itself was lovely and well- appointed. However, I would highly recommend booking an Ocean View room, as the Marina View is somewhat limited and doesn't capture the full beauty of the property.

A special shout out to Luis, our butler, who ensured our stay was completely stress free and relaxing and to Axel, who helped with some pre-trip planning and surprised us with a special amenity for our anniversary- such a thoughtful touch! We also want to recognize Leonel and Berni, our wonderful servers at lotus and Union, whose attentiveness and warmth truly enhanced our dining experiences.

The service throughout the resort was exceptional- the staff went above and beyond to make every moment special. SLS Playa Mujeres exceeded our expectations- and we will definitely return- next time we'll be sure to choice the ocean view!

The hotel is at 30% I keep it just wasn’t a welcoming stay some people were nice. The customer service was horrible. The way they treated us as we were excellent left a poor taste in my mouth. The food at Cleo was good. The steakhouse was mediocre and so was the Asian restaurant I heard the Mexican was good, but we didn’t get a chance to try . If you’re not gonna book the elite stay , just don’t stay here at all.

They gave us a room. Next to the elevator and door to the outside my baby could not fall asleep, every night people go back to their rooms take the. elevator next to our room, loud speaking,walking with heels we would hear too much noise, i asked to switch a room they told us no rooms avaliable at this time, the restaurants are limited to what they serve, lunch every day is same food only two places were open for lunch, not happy at all my vacation was ruined 😑

Overall, the stay was quite pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, and the environment was nice. However, it didn’t really feel like a five-star hotel — more like a four-star experience. Lunch options were limited, and dinner required advance reservation, which was a bit inconvenient. Unfortunately, all four of us experienced some stomach discomfort after dining at the hotel and after the trip we still having diarrhea. Not sure if it was due to the food or the water. I hope the management can improve food hygiene and offer more dining choices.
