My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Excellence. Hotel was nice and clean, staff were friendly and helpful, the spa was amazing. The food was good. We also really enjoyed the Bob Marley tribute, the performance was top tier - the highlight of our stay.

Extraordinary property and staff. Truly a 5-star experience with a gorgeous beach, delicious food, and memories that will last a lifetime. This is by far our favorite all inclusive resort. We enjoyed the excellence el Carmen as well, but the coral far exceeds even the hotel collection’s high standards. We can’t wait to return. The layout of the property is superb, as it is well integrated with the beach. Favorite restaurants were Zenith, Magna, and the Asian restaurant, as well as sushi by the pool at 5pm.

This was our second time ever staying at a resort, first time in Mexico. The property itself is beautiful - everything feels new, clean and luxurious. There is sooo much space - you will not have a problem finding a chair at the pool, and the beach always seemed to have 90% of the chairs empty. The food here was great - we didn’t have one bad meal and they put a lot of attention to the service. We reserved for the speakeasy which was a fun experience worth trying if you’re a club member. The rooms were spacious - we got the junior suite with a private pool which I recommend. The two story suites that have a pool are nice and have nice views but the pool is literally a plunge pool that goes up to your knees, so not very swimmable.

Cons: the excellence club upgrade is not worth it in my opinion. We spent all of our time at the main pool as it was more lively - the excellence pools were very quiet. We also probably enjoyed Magna one of the EC restaurants the least out of all.
The resort is verrrry quiet. This is def a couples RELAXED resort. We weren’t looking for a club like resort but this resort really only had the martini bar for late night options which is the hotel lobby bar and the sports bar. The sports bar hardly ever had anyone in it (it’s also located behind the steps from the martini bar) and the martini bar starts closing down at 11. We were always the last at the bar and it’s practically dead at that time. Keep that in mind when booking.

Rooms are big, clean with comfortable bedding. Resturants, bars and entertainment teams are well managed and courteous in performing their jobs. Several Resturants have experience dinner night which were different and well presented with good international food and drinks. Sky lounge has infinity pool with amazing view of the beach and excellent fresh Sushi served after 5 pm daily. DJ music played nicely at center court every night before variety entertainment show time. Check in staff at all levels need coaching and better customer service. Hope they can be trained more for good hospitality. Thank you.

My stay at Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres was magical indeed. The beach felt private and the resort location was fantastic (approx. 40 minutes from Cancun airport).

small hiccups:
-My first room was a pool view jr suite, and I encountered 3 small cobweb spiders near the headboard. The following day, the front desk moved me to a Rooftop terrace with private pool jr suite that I thoroughly enjoyed.
-Spices Restaurant- the food was underwhelming and I had an uncomfortable exchange with the host. I didn't have a collared shirt on but was wearing pants and a generally upscale/expensive outfit. A big \"to-do\" was made about the dress code despite the restaurant being almost entirely empty. That said, a manager quickly came over to grant access and apologized.

Food:
- The Kitchen table- breakfast buffet was incredible- Fidel is amongst the best waitstaff I've ever encountered, and he rocks.
- Tipicio- street tacos were *insanely* good and Agave was above-average.
- Oregano- was reasonably good for an AI resort
- The Sports bar & grill - Yareli, Antonio, and Eduardo made my stay magical. They genuinely provide personalized and exceptional 5-star level service. Antonio also makes a mean sweet tea, and serves up a great burger with loaded fries
-Chocolate bar- Heck yes, this is as great as it sounds
-Lobster house- Great lunch and well rounded food - Erick was exceptional

Room: the rooms are clean, modern, and 5-star with comfy bedding and gorgeous bathrooms. A+

This is the best all inclusive resort we’ve ever been to. We are already planning our next stay. The food, the staff, the room, the pools… are all top notch and simply incredible! Service was by far the best at any Cancun area resort and all staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. We had an ocean view room which was hard to leave. We are highly disappointed by Expedia, they cancelled our flight reservation while we were waiting at the terminal gate and we had to lose 2 days of vacation because of their error. Our bags went to the airport we were supposed to go to, and we didn’t get them until we came home. The resort staff was so accommodating with the issues this caused. They took us to the local Walmart by taxi and waited for us. We made the best of the trip with the Walmart clothes (which you can’t try on). It would have been perfect if the flight and baggage issues did not occur. Sushi at the XLounge and Magna were our favorite. We are glad we didn’t spring for a pool room because there was no privacy for those poor people below us. There were no bugs during our stay. The Mexican Fiesta was our favorite event. The massage I had at the spa was so relaxing. The gym was fabulous. We can’t wait to return. Thank you Excellence Team!

Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres is such a beautiful and relaxing resort. We chose to celebrate our anniversary here and upon arrival we were greeted with champagne. We stayed in the Excellence Club Two-Story Rooftop Terrace Suite w Private Pool Ocean View. The room was perfectly located near the main pool, restaurants and beach. Their spa was amazing, we did a couples massage with the hydrotherapy circuit which was 10/10. We even got to experience their speakeasy so make sure to get a reservation for that, it was well worth it! Overall great resort with friendly staff, delicious food and drinks!!

Beautiful resort that is maintained exquisitely by their wonderful staff! Highly recommend! Tip the staff as they work extremely hard at what each of their rolls are.
On a side note… the resort DOES offer airport transport even though I was told by Expedia that they did not.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! On site restaurants are delicious, rooms are comfortable. Check with front desk if you’d like your room cooler and they will gladly oblige and adjust the setting from the locked thermostat.

Very nice resort for couples only. I made the mistake of bringing my young adults. It's a very boring resort, almost like a morgue at times. Entertainment is okay. You are in the middle of nowhere. No place to explore. The food (restaurants) are no good, disgusting. The buffet is small and serves the same crap everyday. The best restaurant is the Grill. Bring your Pepto you will be moving your bowels alot at this resort for some reason.
My daughter got Ecole food poisoning at the Los Olas restaurant near the beach. She was throwing up for 2 days and diarrhea for more than a week as she got care in the states. To sum it up. You're not going to get the \"wow factor\" at this resort. And it's overpriced.

Food-probably the best resort food I have ever had at a hotel. So many options and food had a great quality. We loved Magna, Oregano and surprisingly Raises with their unique menu. Magna breakfast was my favorite meal! No reservations and we never had to wait to be seated for a meal

Pool/Beach-it often felt like the resort was empty because there was no fight to get a beach chair. Pool is massive and balances calm and fun/party vibes. Beach was not my favorite. The sand is extremely hard if you walk barefoot but staff does good job keeping seaweed out

Rooms-we had an Excellence club swim out suite with private pool. LOVED the swimout and private pool option. The rooms are very different.. I hated the sensor lights as they would turn on if one of us had to use the restroom.

Excellence Club-we did the Excellence Club and what made it worth it was dinner and breakfast at Magna. I didnt use any of the other Excellence club benefits and would have had the same great trip without it

Our stay at Excellence was truly amazing. We booked a room with a rooftop pool, and it was absolutely stunning—such a unique and relaxing experience. The staff throughout the resort were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our trip even more enjoyable.
One area that could use improvement is the sports bar. With only two staff members serving, the service was understandably slow. It would definitely benefit from additional staffing. We also noticed that our rooftop pool had a dark ring around the top, so it could have used a bit more attention in terms of cleaning. It would have been even better if the pool were heated, as we didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we had hoped.
The restaurants, however, were fantastic. A special shoutout to Rolando at the Grill—he took great care of us and made our dining experience memorable.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to fully enjoy the beach due to the sargassum, but Antonio was so kind and attentive while we spent time there, which we really appreciated.
Overall, the resort is absolutely beautiful, and we had such a great time. We were genuinely sad to leave and would definitely consider coming back.

This was our first time at an Excellence and we would definitely come back. The property was beautiful, the pool, restaurants and bars did not disappoint. The best part though was the exceptional service and hospitality of the staff! We stayed in a two level terrace with private pool, though the space was very nice, the pool was not heated so we didn’t use. We did love the large lounger on the terrace and even took an afternoon nap out there. Many restaurants to choice from all were great except the sports bar food was meh but we enjoyed a few games of pool. They had nightly entertainment if you are in to that or had plenty of seating areas just to relax with a drink. If you are looking for an all inclusive relaxed atmosphere with lots of food options and the friendliest people around, I would recommend the Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres to everyone!

Two bottles were $89. I realize you pay a premium on location but this seems excessive. Overall a great resort just bring your own sunscreen.

This is the best resort we’ve booked so far. The staff were over & beyond friendly during our entire stay. As soon as we entered the building, we could tell they didn’t skimp on the layout & architectural design of the facility. We were treated like royalty. The resort was super clean & the restaurants were 2 thumbs up. The steaks at The Grill Restaurant were Top Notch. The nightly shows were also very entertaining. To sum it up; this resort is for the slightly older crowd (30 & up) that still likes to party at night & relax during the day. The only negative for us were the overpriced items at the gift shops ($40 USD for a printed t shirt). I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Mexico.

Awesome location, it’s very quiet and private. The property is beautifully maintained and very clean. All the rooms, restaurants and entire resort is spotless and clean. The staff is friendly and provide great service. The beach is huge, lots of sun beds and ocean is perfect for swimming. The pools are amazing and lots of sun beds available, the pools are very large and have swim up bars. Large food and drink selection, every restaurant is tasty and food is fresh. Please note that buffet is only available for breakfast, otherwise all other options for lunch and dinner are restaurants. They have a lot restaurants and different food optionally. Will definitely be returning!

The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, and the food was fantastic across the board. What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, were the people. A special thank you to César at the Martini Bar and his colleagues Kenneth, Adolfo, and Angel for making every evening so much fun. We also loved the music and entertainment from Dayron and Alain—they brought such great energy to the resort!
We left feeling so grateful for the warmth, kindness, and hospitality we experienced. It truly felt like a home away from home.

We had a wonderful stay overall and truly enjoyed the experience. The pool, beach, drinks, rooms, and overall atmosphere were fantastic and made for a very relaxing trip.

A special shoutout to the amazing staff who made our stay even better. The entertainment group Alain, Miguel, Luis, Gilberto, and Alexia were incredibly friendly, energetic, and made every activity fun. Bianca was an excellent waiter who was always attentive and welcoming. The pool bar bartenders Samuel and Ismael were also fantastic, always serving great drinks with a smile and creating a fun atmosphere around the pool.

One critique I would mention is that I wish the buffet was open every day for either lunch or dinner, and that all of the restaurants were open daily so guests do not miss out on some of the dining experiences. The Excellence app is also not very user friendly and could be improved.

Overall, everything else was great. The pool, beach, drinks, rooms, and the service from the staff made the stay memorable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Excellence everywhere! First off, kudos to the architect; this property is flows beautifully! The grounds crew are also top-notch, as every aspect of this resort is impeccably maintained.

The staff were primarily exceptional! Shoutout to the barista's in the lovely coffee shop (nice options there), for helping me with my Spanish daily. Shoutout to Heidi at the pool for a day of stellar service.

The FOOD here is innovative, fresh, flavorful and some of the best I've had at an all-inclusive. You will not be disappointed with the food, no matter the restaurant. The daily taco & flauta/taquito stand was great for many, but tasteless and dry for me.

Attending one of the evening shows, \"The Michael Jackson/Freddie Mercury Review.\" Michael impersonator had the worst stage make-up ever, and slippery shoes that were almost comical. The musicians, however, were a totally different story; a world-class ensemble. I was absolutely mesmerized by the violinist, wanting desperately to magically whisk him away to fame and fortune on a much grander stage.

The Spa is a MUST VISIT! The hydrotherapy options were amazing and the staff beyond perfection!

Great gym. Little beach team due to high winds, but fabulous, nonetheless.

*I do not recommend a room with rooftop pool (my choice), as you don't get a pool. It's so shallow I just sat in it. Get the swim-out, as you can actually swim and float a good portion of the resort.

I recently stayed at this resort from Monday through Friday after extending my original Monday to Thursday trip due to weather. Because my original room was unavailable for the additional night, I upgraded to an Excellence Club suite for my final evening.
Overall, the property itself is beautiful and the amenities are excellent. However, the communication and guest service infrastructure need significant improvement for a five star resort. 
Transportation:
Prior to arrival, I updated my inbound and outbound flights and attempted to coordinate with Seasons Transportation, the hotel’s private transfer service. I sent four separate emails and received no response. After spending 45 minutes on the website chat feature, I was finally given an email address. Even then, communication remained unreliable.
Once on property, I had to physically visit the Seasons kiosk to confirm my Friday departure transfer. I was told I would receive an email confirmation, which never arrived. I returned again on Tuesday to reconfirm and was told to meet the driver between 2:15 and 2:45, as they wait 30 minutes. The lack of proactive communication created unnecessary stress. 
Check In:
Check in was mostly smooth. The receptionist acknowledged my extension and informed me my final night would be in a different Excellence Club suite. One notable limitation is that all restaurant reservations and most requests must be handled in person at reception. There is no efficient digital or concierge style system

I stayed Monday through Friday after extending my trip and upgrading my final night to an Excellence Club suite. The property is beautiful and the amenities are excellent, but communication and service coordination fall short of five star standards.

Before arrival, I emailed Seasons Transportation four times with no response and had to use the website chat for 45 minutes to get assistance. Even onsite, I had to repeatedly visit the kiosk to confirm my departure transfer.

Check in was smooth, but all reservations and requests must be handled in person. There is no efficient digital concierge system.

My first loft suite with private pool was spectacular. Food, drinks, beach, and pool service were excellent.

Issues began during my room change. Multiple emails to the front desk went unanswered. I had to return in person to coordinate keys and luggage. My upgraded room had a strong sewage odor, and opening the balcony caused heavy condensation that made the floors dangerously slippery. My luggage was delayed nearly an hour due to internal miscommunication.

For checkout, I emailed four times requesting a 2 PM extension and received no response. My key card was deactivated at standard checkout, locking me out. I had to find staff to let me in and rush to pack. No luggage assistance was offered.

A supervisor offered a $200 future credit, but it was later retracted when another staff member claimed I was late and that my car had left, despite being within the stated window. I ne

amazing new resort, rooms were spacious and clean and modern. facilities were excellent all around, especially if you are active and enjoy going to the gym or playing pickleball/tennis. staff are all very friendly and attentive. the swim out pool in the back is also great do doing some laps.

the vibes were also very chill and lowkey throughout the week and a bit more lively on friday/saturday with the arrivals of weekend birthday party or other groups bringing some rowdiness to the main pool but we didn’t find any of the other guests annoying or obnoxious. guests were mostly mix of couples from early 30s to 50s.

only downside is that the food was just alright, milo, tipico, and oregano were our favorites. we were not impressed by chez isabel, spice, or the grill. we come from a tier 1 food city and so perhaps are standards are too high for an all inclusive. food was rarely bad, just ok at worst.

food aside, we loved everything else about this resort and would definitely come back
